If you though picking the best of a season was touch, how about these of a year which included some 40 guests. Every interview I did boasted great stories but these 6 stood out: There was Mike North, a pioneer in all sports radio in Chicago and a current voice, Mark Silverman from ESPN 1000 who shared his bout with cancer.. Thom Brennaman shared his difficult road back to broadcasting after a gay slur cost him his broadcasting career. Will Perdue, a four time NBA champion (three with the Bulls) discussed the various NBA coaches he played under. Hub Arkush, who recently suffered a severe brain and heart condition but is making a great recovery, remembered how Pro Football Weekly got started and how he had to run the ship at the age of 26.And the guy with perhaps the story of the year was Dave Revsine, host of the Big Ten Network who once sought a golf game and wound up being paired with one of the most talked about people of the last 50 years!Tell me a story I don't know is now part of the Sports Media Watch podcast (sportsmediawatch.com) so please follow @paulsen_smw. NFL insider Hub Arkush of Pro Football Weekly joined the show. Hub gave insight on Roquan Smith and isn't sure where he will end up, but he described Pittsburgh as a “good fit” in their system. The guys asked about the complications with Smith since he does not have an agent. Hub said Smith is a better player than Ryan Shazier was at his best and he's among the most underrated players in the league. He thinks a 1 and a 3 or maybe a 1 and a 4 could go a big way in getting a deal done. Hub said the asking price might be over $100 million with around $55 million guaranteed, but he isn't sure if he will get quite that. The chat then shifted to Mitch Trubisky, who Hub still believes can do something in this league as he showed in his second season. A former Bear that Hub really likes is James Daniels, who he expects to do great things with Pittsburgh and he's upset Chicago didn't have interest in bringing him back. He described Daniels as a steal for what they paid in free agency, but a big surprise to the guys – Hub said Daniels is best at center. Former Steelers QB/WR Kordell “SLASH” Stewart joined the show. Kordell talked about how the game has changed since his day and how well he would fit into today's game since he was clearly ahead of his time. He talked about the difficulties that came with going from WR to QB and back again, and how his spot never felt completely secure no matter how well he played. He said he's not upset that he missed out on huge NFL money since he came around 25+ years ago and said his NFL time was a lot of fun. The guys asked him about QBs like Lamar Jackson and Kyler Murray in today's game. He said he definitely had tough times in the league, but when times were good, he was great. His time in Pittsburgh was his favorite and his “Slash” era was a great memory. Kordell gave his thoughts on the Steelers current QB situation with Mitch Trubisky and Kenny Pickett. He talked about the career of Ben Roethlisberger. The guys asked Kordell what he's up to now as he dives into the sports media business.

His name is synonymous with the NFL. Hub Arkush remains the executive editor of Pro Football Weekly, now an online publication. But it was his father who founded the company in 1967 and Hub took it over at age 26. Since then, PFW as it's known as, had blossomed into one of the nation's leading sports publications though went through several iterations to become what it is today.Arkush not only publishes the online version, he covers the Chicago Bears and is both an analyst and talk show host for WSCR The Score in Chicago.Recently, Arkush made headlines when explaining why he wouldn't vote for eventual NFL MVP Aaron Rogers. He was roundly criticized for his statement but also apologized the next day saying he made a horrible mistake.During this informative and enlightening podcast you'll learn more about the crafty and industrious Hub Arkush and how his love for animals nearly took him in a different life direction.Tell me a story I don't know is proudly sponsored by Vienna Beef, makers of Chicago's hot dog and an institution since 1893 (viennabeef.com). Field Yates (@FieldYates) is one of our favorite guests, and the ESPN NFL Insider joined us once again for our Week 18 Big Show! We had to pick Field's brain about breakout fantasy players for 2022, and how the co-host of the Fantasy Focus Football Podcast, preps to stay on top of the fantasy industry. He also gave us the skinny on Bears head coach Matt Nagy's future, and who might replace him! Each of the Three & Out crew had different takes on former Pro Football Weekly publisher Hub Arkush's misusing his MVP vote to air grievances about Aaron Rodgers--even though we all had some Rodgers grievances of our own to air.As always, we finished strong by picking the full slate of NFL Week 18 games, both straight-up and against the spread, courtesy of Pickwatch.com!

Hub starts off talking about Bears Head Coach Matt Nagy despite being 4-1 is not all that pleased with the offense. Bears fans are thrilled to be 4-1, but there continues to be real concern about where that offense is. Something to keep in mind is them signing Lamar Miller on the practice squad very recently. Eagles and Steelers said a lot about Week 5. Big Ben has looked fantastic so far this season
Executive Editor of Pro Football Weekly, Hub Arkush totally understands why the Bengals would take Joe Burrow, but he doesn't have the highest ceiling in the draft. The Bengals and Chargers abstrusely had to come out with a future franchise QB. Tampa and Pittsburgh are in win now mode. They also have to think about the air apparent. This draft was absolutely a Buyers market. The Green Bay Packers had a very interesting draft pick in picking QB Jordan Love, knowing Aaron Rodgers is still there
Hub Arkush, Executive Editor of Pro Football Weekly, joins the show to recap NFL free agency, look ahead to the NFL Draft and more. What are his thoughts on the NFL continuing on with business as usual during this virus? What are the expectations on rookies being ready for games with their mini camps being delayed? What are his thoughts on the Packers free agency moves? Does he think Nick Foles can put the Bears over the top?
Pro Football Weekly editor and Westwood One sideline reporter joined Jody to discuss if there was surprise with the domination by the 49ers over the Vikings, how to grade the Browns hire of Kevin Stefanski, if either the Packers or Seahawks have an advantage heading into their matchup and how much the injuries to their running backs will hamstring Seattle.
Pro Football Weekly executive editor joined Jody to discuss who deserves the most blame for the struggles on offense for the Bears, who could take over the offensive play calling if Matt Nagy gives it up, if the Bears should think about moving on from Mitchell Trubisky and who has the best defense in the NFL.
Mitch Trubisky has been a disappointment through the Chicago Bears' first two games. Is the 2019 season a do-or-die year for the young quarterback? Mark Schofield from Pro Football Weekly joined Lorin Cox to take a close look at QB development and the role Matt Nagy plays in Trubisky's success.Don't forget to ask your questions for Friday's mailbag edition of the Locked on Bears podcast.
