Rebinging Star Trek DS9: Battle Lines Welcome to S1E12 where Kai Opaka arrives! The Kai guilts Sisko into taking her on a ride through the wormhole and no one is quite expecting what they find on the other side! Battle Lines! Spoiler alert, we really liked this episode and we dig deep into the development of Major Kira here. Please join us for this fun ride! Battle Lines Kai Opaka arrives at DS9 unannounced. She gets her promised tour of the station before getting a ride through the wormhole. She’s muttering something about a prophecy, but nobody quite knows what she means (and for some reason, nobody asks!). When the shuttle is shot down by a satellite over a moon, our crew is introduced to some very unfriendly folks who are stuck in an endless and bloody war. This episode gives more depth to Kira and also shows us more of the elusive Kai Opaka. There is some beautiful acting here, but also some weak plot points (again)! We hope you enjoy this episode of the podcast as much as we enjoyed making it. Battle Lines is a good one! What’s this rebinge thing? It’s a re-watch of a thing you’ve already seen but love to watch and talk about. We go deep with every episode, walking you through every scene and analyzing all of the characters and story lines. Listen to our intro episode if you want to know a little more about us. And kick off the whole thing with our rebinge of the pilot episode Emissary. Or catch up on the previous episode: S1E11 Vortex. Next time… We dig into Season 1 Episode 13 of DS9: The Storyteller. Be sure and join our Facebook group and Follow Rebinge It on Twitter!

Takeaways – A podcast about learning from the wisdom of others
I am blessed to be around remarkable people and to attend dynamic events. There are always Takeaways to learn. That is what I am sharing on this podcast. Takeaways – Life. Lessons. Learned. explores learning from the wisdom of others. Happy New Year!! It’s that time of year where we get to reflect and account for the previous year’s activities and results. In this case its sitting down with Angelica Marie Clemmer to conclude Season 2 of Takeaways. Angelica and I were at the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation gala at the end of November. I asked her a question about something going on in her life. She turned to me and said, "you know so much about me I don't feel like I know anything about you. I should come on your podcast and interview you!" Angelica shared her story as a survivor of domestic abuse in S1:E12. This Season 2 Recap is a bit different. It's not as much about the podcast as it is about me and my life. Angelica really prepared for this speaking to my friends, coworkers and even my wife! Here are just a few of the Takeaways that we discussed on this episode. What were the influences of my life childhood? Why did I make the decision to pivot professionally? How do I think about this next decade from 40 to 50 years old? From all of us here at Takeaways, I want to thank you for tuning in (whether it was one episode or several); I want to thank you for you generous comments and feedback throughout the year; and I want to wish you the very best of this new decade with health and prosperity! Just for fun here is a list of the Top 5 most popular episodes from Season 2. They are ordered from the most downloaded down: S2:E22 - Ruth Furman: Make the Joyful Choice When You Can. S2:E21 – NAIOP January Program: High Powered Commercial Real Estate Executives S2:E25 – Special Envoy Elan Carr: Act Constructively and Beneficially the Concept of Tikkun Olam S2:E27 – NAIOP June Program: So Much Going On How To Keep Track S2:E23 - Captain Harry Fagel: Behind Every Great Human Is Another Human I hope you enjoy!
