Hommeboy exudes impending stardom for more reasons than sharing the same birthday as Rihanna and Kurt Cobain. His vibe is both fluid and grounded. Rapping over an infectious, funky mashup of rhythmic hip-hop and pop sounds, the Atlanta artist is ushering in a new era for his city and beyond.  Infused with messages of positivity and the beauty of embracing duality and temporality, his music aims to fill a void in the musical space that people are beginning to crave more and more as an escape from the typical themes explored in most mainstream music. In 2017, Hommeboy's debut EP FUNKWTIME gained the attention of artist peers Dev Hynes and Azealia Banks, and put him on stages at Afropunk, Adult Swim, Art Basel, Soho House New York, and more. “What We Want” and "This One" are the first singles off of Hommeboy's forthcoming project “Era of Good Feelings”. GO RAISE YOUR FREQUENCIES WITH HOMMEBOY on iHeartradio and all major platforms with the P.E.G FAMILY. WHAT WE WANT & THIS ONE is now playing. The vibes are set and unmatched. Chef Neill Howell was born in England. His father's career in the army moved the family quite often, taking them not only to Northern Ireland (his mother's native country), but also Hong Kong and Brunei. After catering college, Neill worked to refine his chef skills through his employment in London, New York City, Los Angeles and now Baltimore. Neill's vast London experience in restaurants such as Langan's Brasserie, Asia De Cuba, Hush, Home House and The Grove Hotel earned him a job in the United States. Prior to his Executive Chef role here in Baltimore at Bond Street Social, he served as Executive Chef for 4 years at one of New York City's most popular dining establishments of it's time  - The Stanton Social in the Lower East Side. It was the exclusive Soho House New York that orginally brought him stateside. There he catered to a celebrity clientele at the New York location and in Los Angeles during Oscar Events. It his also where he met his wife and co-owner, Emily.  Since opening The Corner Pantry, Neill has been able to truly discover who he is as a chef - utilizing fresh, local ingredients while pulling inspiration from his life, work and travels around the globe.  He is a proud father of Annabelle (8) and Clive (4) and spends his time outside of the kitchen training in the pool or on the road for his other passion, triathalon competitions. #172 Telling Love Stories With Men's Vows

We had a blast chatting it up with Eduardo and Jason of Men's Vows. An online magazine dedicated to sharing advice and inspiration for gay weddings AND the first wedding directory exclusively for grooms! Eduardo Braniff is founder and Editor-in-Chief of Men's Vows. Leveraging his expertise in editorial, branding and experiential design, and having attended over 175 weddings in his life, Men's Vows is a natural intersection of his professional and personal experience. Men's Vows is dedicated to supporting men who marry, helping create new wedding traditions and celebrating men who've found “their man.” Men's Vows shares advice and inspiration from engagement to honeymoon, illustrating the process from “I will” to “I do” and beyond. Founded five years ago, Men's Vows is proud of being one of the largest gay male wedding sites, with over 75K followers on Instagram, countless couples who have selected us as the platform for sharing their love story, and being part of changing how everyone understands and embraces what it is to get married today. Jason Mitchell Kahn is the owner and creative director of his own namesake wedding planning company Jason Mitchell Kahn & Co., and the “In-House Expert” for Men's Vows Magazine. Jason began working full time as a wedding planner after the 2014 launch of his new book GETTING GROOMED: THE ULTIMATE WEDDING PLANNER FOR GAY GROOMS Jason's work experience spans from serving as resident Wedding Planner for Shiraz Events to being the In-house wedding expert at Soho House New York. While at Soho House New York, Jason also designed, planned, and ran fashion shows, book launches, art festivals, movie premieres, opening nights, gala dinners, and awards shows post parties. The job took him around the world from Oscar parties in L.A. to events held in chateaus in Cannes and even an underground subway station in Toronto. Jason brings to weddings his passion for drama honed from his career and education in theatre. Two of his plays had professional premieres in New York and have since had productions around the world. Jason approaches all weddings with his playwriting background: What is the couple's version of their most beautiful story to be told? *Big Takeaways * For gay men, and lesbian women, it has only been about five years since the marriage equality law has been passed. It's relatively new. Finding a wedding planner who understands your wants and desires is so important. Jason and Eduardo are fighting hard to make it accessible, and easy for every couple to have their dream wedding. Men's Vows allows for representation of all types of people, not just the picture perfect, model-esque couples. Most men are not targeted in the wedding industry, and neither are lesbian women. For Jason, he sees the importance that marriage could have for the non-traditional scenarios. It's important to find your flavor and taste and make the day for you. Just because the known thing is most common doesn't mean you have to do it! There is no steadfast way to wed. It's important to take a look at every element of the wedding, and see if you are doing something because you feel like you have to, or because you want to. Aside from signing the paperwork, it's your day to play with and make your relationship shine. Pinterest is a beautiful place to get inspiration, but it's also important to acknowledge that it's not always representing the typical budget or set-up for a wedding. You don't have to have an insane budget to have a special and meaningful day. When it comes to putting together who to invite, there are beautiful, kind ways of letting the people you love know you love them, but that they aren't invited to the wedding. Jason talks about receiving a letter from a couple who are dear friends that explain how much they are excited to have him in their life, and can't wait to share about the wedding. It is a nice way to make people not feel forgotten or unwanted, but makes it clear that there just isn't room without having to be so blunt. Quotes “The princess fantasy becomes the bride fantasy. But where is the prince fantasy that becomes the groom fantasy?” - Eduardo “I love the idea of wedding as culmination, instead of wedding as beginning.” - Eduardo “One of the things that I do want to underline, particularly in the gay space where it's sort of like, ‘chart your own course, and everything's independent, and reinvent the rules!” If you wanna walk down the aisle with your mother or your father and like hand over a bouquet, and raise a veil, and do in sickness and health vows, go and do that!” - Jason “Every article, and every picture that has ‘performed better,' in these days of digital metrics, are the ones where it's an unexpected pair.” - Eduardo Links We Referenced https://mensvows.com/ instagram.com/mensvows Get In Touch EMAIL: thebigweddingplanningpodcast@gmail.com FACEBOOK: @TBWPpodcast FACEBOOK GROUP: https://www.facebook.com/groups/TBWPP/ INSTAGRAM: @thebigweddingplanningpodcast BE SURE TO USE THE HASHTAG: #planthatwedding PHONE: (415) 723-1625 Leave us a message and you might hear your voice on the show! Subdrive brings you our podcast showcasing mixes from artists we respect and love. Their mixes reflect whatever they’re feeling and are inspired by at the moment. We present them without track listing so you can focus on the mix; not the next song. This month we’re excited to showcase NY based Darelectric. Born Darianna Mayer in Caracas, Venezuela, Darelectric has aligned herself with the Secret Guests crew, produces a monthly live radio show for Globalmixx Radio called ‘Stamina’, and has released original productions such as 'Romantic Soul EP' for Moveubabe Records and 'Cruise EP' for Klinik Room Recordings. Darelectric joined us at our Soho House New York residency this month and laid down a beautiful and groovy set that blends her influences and taste from the broad spectrum of house and techno. We thought it absolutely fitting to share that same live set from our event with our following for her Subdrive podcast. Heavy percussion, bassy grooves, and beautiful vocal cuts take you on a journey to distant and imagined places, just as she did that Saturday night with us. It was called Low Profile because there are people who don't need much more than great music and a room full of creative and open minded people, and there are people who are totally fabulous and maybe even famous who just want to be in an atmosphere where they need not care about who they are because they are having so much fun blending in to where they are. Low Profile was originally hosted and promoted by DeShawn, Myorr and Mark. That feeling of we're all in this together in a place where cool came easy could be felt by the warmth in the music. Many styles and genres are flowed through throughout the evening and all the music was conscientiously selected and woven to be that blanket of rhythm that mostly made you smile and want to dance. Joy and laughter were constants. Dub Reggae, that Jazzy 90s Hip Hop, sensual Deep House, eclectic Electronica, and Funk/Soul sensations all night led to many 4am lights on sing-a-longs to Stevie Wonder's "As". The 2nd chapter of Low Profile is set at the trailblazing Meatpacking District venue APT where the room was prettier and the sound was louder and crisper. The party had graduated to a larger and more stylish venue, however, because of APT's nondescript entrance, their embracing of the music format and their welcoming the Low Profile faithful, our party felt the same except with more space to dance and frolic.  In 2015, Soho House (New York) opened a brand new club/event space called Vinyl. Recorded on May 29, 2012 My 1st set at Soho House started with a great conversation. "Imagination..., etc.," was my answer to a question about how I'd approach the night musically. Good answer because then I was encouraged to be myself and to not be shy. That advice along with the warm welcoming vibes of the house brass, "We're glad you're here," and a scrumptious quinoa salad was how my first set began. A medley of a portion of the overall repertoire. I've already re-imagined the night to include these kinds of sounds but with the lens adjusted more toward wide angle. We were on the 6th floor http://www.sohohouseny.com/sixth-floor because of rain. We were to be on the rooftop. When that happens, oh my oh my. "Hello Soho House, my name is Marvin, I'm not here to bother, or here for you to mind what I do. I do hope you feel what I put in the air, feel this atmosphere." said me, via musical blends. I'll never repeat this set. You know why? Because I also mentioned that the Jazz mindset is part of my approach as well. Jazz(y) gents do it different every time. Variations in the key of good feelings. What happens next? "24" Season 8 Premiere Reception | Recorded live on January 14 2009 at the Soho House, New York City | Qool DJ Marv LIVE! After the 1st song, Mykelti Williamson came over to me and asked, with fervor, "who was that?" I told him that it was Rocco DeLuca & The Burden, an artist on Kiefer Sutherland's label. His night already seemed made. We shook hands and I knew a good night was in store. The starting point of set that cruises along through many genres and styles. The show is rugged the cast party's smooth. http://www.ironworksmusic.com/home.html http://www.fox.com/24/ http://www.sohohouseny.com/sixth-floor/drawing-room/
