Everybody wants to be seen as "the good guy". In this episode of Satansplain, we'll look at Anton LaVey's essay, "The Goodguy Badge", what this Satanic concept means, and the various sellers of this badge of self-righteousness. My special guest tonight is Dr. Stephen Flowers who's here to discuss the history of Mazdan magic from his book called Original Magic: The Rituals and Initiations of the Persian Magi A complete guide to the theory, practice, and history of Mazdan magic, the first organized system of magic • Provides a complete curriculum of magical study and initiation centered on exercises keyed to the sacred Zoroastrian calendar • Details advanced magical rituals and practices based on archaic Persian formulas, including fire rituals and divine invocations • Explores the history and lore of Persian magic, explaining how the author reconstructed the original Mazdan system of magic Stephen Flowers explores the history, theory, practice, rituals, and initiations of the Mazdan magical system practiced by the Magi of ancient Persia, who were so skilled and famed for their effectiveness that their name came to mean what we today call “magic.” The prestige and reputation of the Magian priests of Mazda is perhaps most iconically recorded in the Christian story of the Three Wise Men who visited newborn Jesus. The author explains how the religious branch of the Mazdan magical system, founded by the Prophet Zarathustra, is known in the West under the name Zoroastrianism. He reveals how the Zoroastrian religion, which acts as a matrix for the symbols and formulas of the original form of magic, has existed for almost four thousand years with roots going back even deeper into the Indo-European past. The author reveals how all other known systems of magic have borrowed from this tradition, providing the clues that enabled him to reformulate the original Mazdan system. He reviews what the Greeks, Romans, Hebrews, Christians, and Chinese said about the Iranian-Persian tradition of the Mazdans and their invention of a magical technology. He explains how the ultimate aim of the original form of magic was not only individual wisdom, self-development, and empowerment, but also the overall betterment of the world. Outlining the theoretical principles of this method, which can be applied in practical ways to deepen the effectiveness of these magical operations, the author details a complete curriculum of magical study and initiation based on a series of graded exercises keyed to the sacred Zoroastrian calendar. He then offers a series of more advanced magical rituals and practices based on archaic Persian formulas, including fire rituals and divine invocations. Providing a manual for the original magical system used by the members of the Great Fellowship, this book guides you toward the comprehensive practice of the Mazdan philosophy, the ultimate outcome of which is ushta: Happiness.Follow Our Other ShowsFollow UFO WitnessesFollow Crime Watch WeeklyFollow Paranormal FearsFollow Seven: Disturbing Chronicle StoriesJoin our Patreon for ad-free listening and more bonus content.Follow us on Instagram @mysteriousradioFollow us on TikTok mysteriousradioTikTok Follow us on Twitter @mysteriousradio Follow us on Pinterest pinterest.com/mysteriousradio Like us on Facebook Facebook.com/mysteriousradio]

Tony Speaks with Dr. Stephen Flowers as they explore the occult influences on various Nazi figures, including Adolf Hitler, Albert Speer, Rudolf Hess, Alfred Rosenberg, and Heinrich Himmler from 1929 throughout World War II
On Thursday July 5th, 2018 the Hermetic Hour with host Poke Runyon will be joined by author Stephen Flowers, Ph.D. to review and discuss the new revised edition of "The Fraternitas Saturni" (2018). This being the fourth version of the original copyrighted in 1990, and including previously unpublished material making this rendition sensational in occult circles. Flowers traces the FS from its beginning, with Crowley and the O.T.O. inspiring Gregor Gregorius in 1925, through its activities in the Wiemar era, its suppression by the Nazis, its revival after WW II and its eventual split into three bodies after Gregorius died in 1964. We are introduced to the "Adonism" of Franz Sattler (Dr. Musallam) a neo-pagan Venus-Adonis cult (!) that included Wilhelm Quaintscher and Franz Bardon who carried it with them into the Frateritas Saturni. We revisit the infamous FOGC black lodge from Frabato, and the Weida Conference in which Crowley attempted to take over organized occultism in Germany. Most importantly Dr.Flowers presents a detailed analysis of the Gnostic and Luciferian philosophies and doctrines behind the Saturian Gnosis. He outlines their cumbersome 33 degree system and their training program; much of it very similar to Franz Bardon's work. Of course the FS is most noted for its sex magick and we have one of those rituals provided. Quite frankly, this book raises as many questions as it answers, but It is well documented with references to works in German that some of us are going to want translated. So, if you want the answers to questions you had, and more questions you may want to ask about the Fraternitas Saturni then tune in and take notes. .
Dr Flowers joins us again to discuss his new book, the Occult Roots of Bolshevism. He also talks a little about his other new book on Nazism as there are many crossover themes in collectivism and totalitarianism. But the main share of the Nazism discussion will be in a future episode.
On Thursday May 10th, 2018, the Hermetic Hour with host Poke Runyon will review two recent books: "Original Magic" (2017) by Stephen E. Flowers and "Real Magic" (2018) by Dean Radin. These books don't have much in common. Original Magic deals with the ancient Persian Magi, whereas Real Magic focuses on ESP and those who have special talents and powers. Both books are of interest to Hermetic students for different reasons, The ancient Persian Magi have been largely ignored in the present occult revival and yet their beliefs and practices have had a strong influence on modern Magick. Real Magic champions the natural psychic and clairvoyant and presents the usual arguments and data to validate paranormal experience and suggest that it can be induced by shamanic techniques. Radin also deals with controversial Futurist issues such as the universal mind. Both books are subject to some philosophical and technical criticisms but both are well worth reading.
Let us embark on a dark odyssey to uncover the foundations and influences of the esoteric aspects of the Nazis. From Germanic paganism to Weimar Republic Astrology and everything in between, we explore the many occult streams that influenced black magicians like Adolf Hitler, Heinrich Himmler, and Rudolf Hess. Have conspiracy theorists overplayed the arcane features of National Socialism? Or is it even more prevalent when including more-powerful magic like egregore-summoning, mass-consciousness manipulation, and good ole Archon mimicking? The answers will be revealed and will reveal that the Nazi global enchantment exists even today. The Empire never ended.Astral Guest – Dr. Stephen Flowers, author of The Occult in National Socialism: The Symbolic, Scientific, and Magical Influences on the Third Reich. This is a partial show. My guest in this episode probably does not need a lot of introduction, please welcome author and High Priest of the Temple of Set for many years, Don Webb. From his early childhood on Don Webb was a weird child who growing up in Amarillo, Texas, benefited of two working parents and quite a few unsupervised hours after school. The TV show ‘Dark Shadows' had a particular fascination on Don and he discovered at age 11-12 that séances might indeed work. During his college years Don explored Carlos Castaneda's work and experimented with altered realities but found them not to be sufficient in taking him closer to what he was searching for. After basically having disengaged himself from spirituality at age 28, Don found the Temple of Set and decided to give it a try. Stephen Flowers, Ph.D., and Michael Aquino were both big influences on him and after moving rather quickly through the ranks Don became High Priest of the Temple in the early 90s. As there was a lot of misinformation out there on the Temple and its work Don decided to deal with this lack and subsequently one of his best known books, ‘Uncle Setnakt's Essential Guide to the Left Hand Path' was published in the late 90s. In this interview we'll get highly interesting glimpses into the philosophy which the Temple is built upon, we'll be exploring some differences and similarities between the Right Hand Path and the Left Hand Path and going deep into the question, how a Victorian novelist is steadily influencing modern occultism with regards to these ideas. The nature of the Temple of Set and its members will be also a big subject of discussion as well as Don's personal definition of magic(k). Don will explain how he "accidentally" became a Master of the Order of the Vampyre although he never applied for membership and how his practical work directed him to write his most recent book, ‘Energy Magick of the Vampyre', published with Inner Traditions. This book has also been called ‘manual of the Left-Hand Path for the 21st century like no other' by Frater U.:D.:, a well and widely respected and known personality in occult circles (btw he has been on this show as well, just look up the episodes of previous seasons). Don's upcoming book project which is certainly something a lot of people in the audience will be thrilled about will be mentioned as well as some good advice for practitioners who started out on their paths not too long ago.
