The Holographic Universe by Michael Talbot a landmark work whose exciting conclusions continue to be proven true by today's most advanced physics, cosmology, and string theory. Nearly everyone is familiar with holograms — three-dimensional images projected into space with the aid of a laser. Two of the world's most eminent thinkers believe that the universe itself may be a giant hologram, quite literally a kind of image or construct created, at least in part, by the human mind. The Ottomans played a critical role in the 1792-1815 period, but we haven't been paying too much attention to them - until now. The signing of a peace treaty with France is the hook for this bonus episode which introduces us to the Ottomans and the challenges facing their reforming leader, Sultan Selim III. He faces a tough challenge in shaking up what is, after all, "an Empire besieged", and the tensions his policy agenda creates against entrenched forces of conservatism will come to a head in the most jaw-dropping fashion. That's still to come on the Napoleonic Quarterly - for now, Dr Michael Talbot, Associate Professor of History at the University of Greenwich here in the UK, gives us a guided tour of the Ottoman Empire - and sets ourselves up for the dramas to come.
1802. January… February… March… Three months in which republican resistance on Saint-Domingue falters and the French commanders' well-laid plans appear to be succeeding… France makes peace with the Ottoman Empire, as Sultan Selim III faces some tricky questions… And back in France Bonaparte adds the so-called Organic Articles to the Concordat deal with the Catholic Church. This is episode 42 of the Napoleonic Quarterly - covering three months in which France appears to be winning the peace at home and abroad. Phil Hebblethwaite examines five classical musical hoaxes and controversies, from the early twentieth century to the modern day. These are origin stories that have fooled and perplexed some of the greatest experts. In an age of misinformation, when faking it has never been more prevalent, the series unravels the stories of some of the most brazen and confounding composer controversies. What is the appeal of engineering a hoax? And why do we fall for them so easily? It's a journey that raises questions about scholarship, authenticity and our faith in expert opinion. The second essay explores the story of one of the most widely recognised pieces in classical music - Albinoni's Adagio in G minor. But was Albinoni even involved with the composition of the work? Phil gets to the bottom of a story that has perplexed classical scholars for years and asks how much authenticity actually matters.Written and presented by Phil Hebblethwaite Producer: Jo Glanville Editor: Joanne Rowntree Researcher: Heather Dempsey Studio Engineer: Dan KingWith thanks to Michael Talbot, Donald Greig and Frederick ReeceA Loftus Media Production for BBC Radio 4

………………………………………………………………………………………. The justice system is filled with institutions that are both revered and steeped in tradition. But is this proud history a barrier or an enabler to access and innovation? Michael Talbot has devoted much of his career to innovating and challenging new ways of thinking in the justice sector. As former NSW Deputy Secretary Courts & Tribunals, he led a successful agenda of change and transformation in the state's administration functions within this space. In today's episode of The Ready Podcast, Michael and Marc Washbourne explore how legal institutions can marry up deep tradition with effective change and digital transformation, and innovate so that every member of our community – no matter their station or location – can access justice whenever they need it. They also: Uncover the key principles guiding the adoption of new technology within the sector – and draw on best-practice examples to help institutions apply these principles to their own change and transformation journeys. Delve into the ways that organisations and leaders within other sectors, too, can apply these insights to drive their own effective digital transformation journeys, and build trust and access with their stakeholders and communities.

Growing up in Jamaica, Michael Talbot had always had a strong desire to inspire and speak to others through art. In 2012 he left his home country to live in the US and began pursuing his artistic dreams. He earned his BFA in illustration and graphic design with a minor in animation at Lesley University in Cambridge, MA, and has since been working as a Boston-based freelance artist on a wide range of projects, exhibitions, and showcases. Michael believes that all art is interconnected in some facet; informing, complimenting and/or enhancing each other. And although his passion and interest for storytelling is forefront in his practice and craft, he tends to draw from his knowledge in as many areas of study as possible to help strengthen this process. Whenever possible, he uses his rich cultural background from his early life in Jamaica to infuse, improve, and “season” whatever project he tackles, often mixing both digital and traditional media. https://talbotsart.com/home.html

What is the true nature of reality? Is what we see as reality a material reality, a spiritual reality, or a matrix-like simulated reality? These are interesting questions, but does it really matter to find the answers to these questions? Probably not, because no matter what the nature of this reality is, our consciousness still remains immersed in it. So, maybe a more important question about reality is how we should see it, or interact with it. The point here is that it is not the reality around us that brings meaning to our life, but how we affect that reality through our presence and expressions in it.This podcast covers the following topics:- Brief overview of models describing the Nature of Reality.- Noticing the difference between Objective and Subjective Reality. - How to change your reality by changing how you express yourself in it?The key takeaway in this podcast is help you realize that no matter what the reality around you may seem, there are still things you can do to change how you experience it. So, if the reality you are experiencing is not as positive or as life-affirming as you want it to be, choose to bring more positivity and affirmation to your life, and the life of others around you. Choose to be the person you wished the world had more, and cultivate the human qualities that you cannot find in the world around you. When you do this every day, soon you'll notice how the people and the reality around you change, and begin to resonate with you. In this episode, I share an original essay titled, "Is Consciousness the Next Paradigm?". I believe we are on the brink of a paradigm shift in modern science. This shift will replace our current, broken ideas of mind-body duality and quantum mechanics with a paradigm based in consciousness. A physics that recognizes everything in our manifest existence, known as the “gross realm of the senses”, is connected through a subtler, abstract Unified Field of Consciousness that serves as the foundation for the entirety of the cosmos. This paradigm shift will be as important for our understanding of cosmology as was the shift from a geocentric to a heliocentric model during the Scientific Enlightenment. This paradigm shift will impact all fields of science – including psychology, medicine, and astronomy – and in turn, the advancements in these fields of study will significantly improve human development globally. In part one of this essay, I'll highlight two phenomenon which our current quantum mechanics paradigm cannot explain: Quantum Entanglement and a Theory of Everything capable of uniting gravity with the electromagnetic force. I'll then discuss two metaphysical concepts, the Holographic Universe and the Unified Field of Consciousness, and how these complementary ideas provide a stronger foundational view of physics than our current one. In part two, I'll provide historical context as to why the exploration of consciousness has been relegated to a “fringe” science, and its researchers frequently dismissed as pseudo-scientists. Specifically, I'll highlight the two power structures who've exerted the most control over the individual's exploration of conscious thought over the past two millennia, first the dogma of the Catholic Church and second the dogma of scientific materialism. In part three, I'll argue that society is currently in the midst of an “Archaic Revival” – where we return to the wisdom of the ancient, spiritual traditions and recognize that mind and matter are in fact one. I'll further argue that this revival is being driven both from the top down and from the bottom up. From the top down in that the body of scientific evidence in support of a consciousness-based paradigm is now so strong that conventional physicists will soon be forced to accept the validity of their models. From the bottom up because individuals across the world are waking up to their true Nature and to the importance of consciousness. To that end, I'll specifically highlight the resurgence in psychedelic therapies and the continued growth of the Transcendental Meditation movement as a simple, practical way for people to integrate higher planes of consciousness into their daily lives. And if so, does free will exist? What the heck is Deja Vu? If the sun is in space, why is space dark? All this and more being served up in a red hot episode of Soul BBQ. In this episode I sit with Vital Force Herbs' Brynn Anderson as we listen to an amazing conversation with the legendary Michael Talbot as he discusses the 'Holographic Universe' and synchronicity. This interview takes place in 1991, just prior to Michael's death. Expand yourself and join us! Michael Coleman Talbot (September 29, 1953 – May 27, 1992) was an American author of several books highlighting parallels between ancient mysticism and quantum mechanics, and espousing a theoretical model of reality that suggests the physical universe is akin to a hologram based on the research and conclusions of David Bohm and Karl H. Pribram. According to Talbot ESP, telepathy, and other paranormal phenomena are a product of this holographic model of realityIn 1992, Talbot died of lymphocytic leukemia at age 38Brynn Anderson:Life long lover of all things nature, Brynn Anderson has been studying herbs for over 27 years...Her natural mindset has lead her to a life of herbology, and a life of teaching. She operates the company 'Vital Force Herbs' an organic herbalism company based in Portland, OR.All the products Brynn creates are made with ingredients grown in her own organic garden.Brynn's service is rooted in providing an outlet for the plant spirit to assist all life on Earth.Combining both aspects of her life, herbalism and teaching, Brynn wishes to guide all humanity to a new understanding of the world around them, and the bountiful medicinal gifts of the Earth.www.vitalforceherbs.com Get bonus content on Patreon See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Michael Talbot starts with a broad overview of the Ottoman Empire's interests and what power it held, before moving on to a problem that would haunt the Ottomans consistently - pirates. These weren't necessarily pirates in a Disney sense - war between the British and the French consistently spilled over into the Meditterenean, and often Ottoman goods and shipping came under attack.Michael explores the Ottoman response, and how they sought to protect their shipping from pirates, corsairs and all sorts, with mixed results. Michael also approaches this story from the Ottoman perspective, a side of the story that we don't often get to hear.Read some of Michael's work here: https://www.historytoday.com/reviews/interpreting-ottoman-empireFind out more here: https://www.ukri.org/news/100-new-generation-thinkers/Producer: Peter Curry See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Who said Rehoboam correctly? The best way to pronounce Rehoboam is Facebook! With just 2 episodes left, we give our overall opinion of this season so far, and how it compares to seasons 1 and 2 in the park. Although we still love this series, some feel like this season is loosely based on seasons 1 and 2. and does the name still fit for this new reboot? Rehoboam kinda like a AI version of Miss. Cleo - that fakin Jamaican psychic hotline lady from the TV commercials in the late 90’s! We ask the group, would you want to see your predicted future? We already have a similar system in place now for middle school students called, Naviance system www.naviance.com - tradectory of a students performance, tells you what schools you're likely to be accepted to based on your history of grades. Some will see the predicted future as a warning if they need to make changes in their life. Some would not want to see it because as long as you're still alive, you can change it. With all the probably realities that exist, it would be almost impossible for any algorithm to accurately predict. But also wondering if Rehoboam isn't just predicting someone's life, it's controlling your options in life to guarantee you live out the future it predicted for you! The show is reminding us we have the ability to reflect on our own lives to see where we're headed and make the necessary changes. After reading books like Seth by Jane Roberts and US Anderson's Three Magic Words and The Holographic Universe by Michael Talbot, it's nice to see some of these ideas weaved into science fiction and comic book stories.

Date of Recording: 25/04/2019 Description: Speaker: Michael Talbot, University of Greenwich When we think of the Ottoman Empire, we tend to think of them as a terrestrial empire. Yet as well as being ‘sultan of the two lands’, the Ottoman sovereign was also ‘ruler of the two seas’. In part, the relative lack of attention paid to Ottoman imperial discourses over water stems from a notion that, following key naval defeats in the 16th century, the Ottomans simply withdrew from the Mediterranean, leaving it to the mercy of foreign forces, old and new. This paper will argue that in the eighteenth century, the Ottoman state rejuvenated its approach to empire at sea, and instituted a number of new mechanisms to protect its subjects in the Eastern Mediterranean, often at the request of the inhabitants of its islands and coasts. Using sources from Ottoman, British, and French archives, this paper aims to demonstrate that the Ottoman state utilised a number of rhetorical, legal, and military measures to exert its authority in what it claimed as its territorial waters in the Mediterranean Sea. Michael Talbot is Senior Lecturer in the History of the Ottoman Empire and Modern Middle East. His first book, British-Ottoman Relations, 1661-1807, examined the development of diplomatic practices between London and Istanbul in the 18th century, and he has researched (among other topics) the history of Ottoman maritoriality in the same period. Hosted by the Laughton Naval History Unit of the Sir Michael Howard Centre for the History of War on behalf of the British Commission for Maritime History and the Society for Nautical Research
Michael Talbot asks how can power be exerted over water? What do borders mean in the featureless desert of the ocean? These were questions faced by the Ottoman Empire in the 17th and 18th centuries when an imaginary line was used to create a legally enforced border at sea for the Sultans in Istanbul who called themselves “rulers of the two seas”, the Black and the Mediterranean. Michael Talbot lectures about the history of the Ottoman Empire and the Modern Middle East at the University of Greenwich, London. The Essay was recorded at Sage Gateshead as part of the Free Thinking Festival. Oftentimes the death of someone we love shifts reality as we’ve known it and brings forth an opening just wide enough for us to begin seeking a deeper truth, a multi-dimensional one, and this inquiry can take us closer to a more expansive understanding of our own timeless consciousness. While the term clearly referred to the Ottoman legal tradition, the idare-i örfiyye was also inspired by contemporary definitions of regimes of exception in France and other countries. Patreon.com/learntruehealth https://www.patreon.com/learntruehealth Developing Consciousness For Healing http://learntruehealth.com/developing-consciousness-for-healing/ Developing consciousness for healing is a power of the mind that most of us have yet to explore and maximize. Being healthy is not just about being physically fit. So, for today’s episode, my fantastic guest, Ned Wolf, will teach us some actionable steps on developing consciousness. Because we need to pay attention to our mental, spiritual, emotional and energetic aspects as well. Starting Point Initially working as a journalist and writer in the corporate world, Ned Wolf was in his mid-30s when he received an award. During the ceremony, he recalled that a member of the audience stood up and asked him what was he going to do with the rest of his life. “I said that if I have to do this the rest of my life, I’m going to go out and shoot myself. I was aghast at what I said,” shares Ned Wolf. “Within six months, I left the corporate world and went back to school to study Holistic health. My subconscious said that I could not devote my talent to supporting organizations when in my heart the greater dream was to support individuals.” Ned Wolf further explains that he decided to pursue a career in Holistic health to gain a clearer perspective of how the world exists. A big part of his work is helping people in developing consciousness so that they can become better versions of themselves. We Are Energy Ned Wolf says that every person is a powerful collection of energy that is essential in developing consciousness. We are also the most powerful manipulator of energy. Now, if only we can incorporate that awareness into the question of health, the whole process of healing becomes much simpler. “We are intimately connected with what causes health, what causes the well-being or what detracts from it. But we don’t realize that our attitude has something to do with the results of our healing,” said Ned Wolf. Roadblocks Ned Wolf says that when we do not see the importance of developing consciousness of our body’s energy, blame and self-pity become stumbling blocks of healing. He says blame and self-pity blocks accepting responsibility for the incredible power we have as beings of energy and spirit. I experienced that when I was a teenager when I got money from my dad’s change drawer to buy junk food. Overwhelmed with self-pity, I blamed others for my misery. That is why Ned Wolf advises taking steps in developing consciousness to tap into our awareness. We then would be able to recognize our potential. Being aware of what we can do produces positive energy from within us. “We must accept that our consciousness is incredibly powerful because we get whatever we concentrate upon,” explains Ned Wolf. “It is our choices, our thoughts, our beliefs, our feelings that are creating our state of health.” What Is Dowsing So how do we shift perceptions to create better health? Ned Wolf recommends dowsing. Dowsing uses a pendulum or other tools. It is a process that aims to help us access intuitional knowledge. Ned Wolf first learned of dowsing while he was living in Australia. Here he learned how to identify an herb for healing through an aboriginal way. Apparently, dowsing is a tradition that dates back to thousands of years ago. “Aborigines are taught to go out into the bushland focusing their consciousness of the illness or medical problems they want to resolve. They do this by listening to the plants sing,” Ned Wolf shares. “When they hear the plant that sings the loudest, that’s the plant to use for helping remedy a particular problem.” It makes sense. Because these are pure intuitive skills that we are capable of maximizing if we just learn the art of developing consciousness. It’s all about training the body to listen and training your conscious mind to listen to your body. “Knowledge that is not limited by time and space perception. But rather access to other dimensions of the self,” adds Ned Wolf. Dowsing For Healing Ned Wolf says dowsing is indeed a powerful tool for healing. It essentially acknowledges the access to inner sources of knowledge. Dowsing also strengthens intuition and intellect so that they can work in partnership. “In our world, we often get caught up in the battle between intuition and intellect. They seem to be at odds with one another,” said Ned Wolf. “But as beings of energy and beings of spirit, the intuition and the intellect were meant to work with each other.” Our Powerful Brain I am reminded of this fascinating book called The Holographic Universe by Michael Talbot. The book explains that the brain is not the only place where we store information. Apparently, our memories are stored holographically through our entire body and nervous system. The Holographic Universe book is filled with many examples how our body works. We have a limiting belief system that we’ve adopted because we were taught that way. But our body is so much more capable of many other things. I highly recommend this book to expand your knowledge. It’s mind-blowing! “That’s one of the great gifts of dowsing. It helps access that broader source of information. The placebo effect is that unexplained ability that we can measure,” said Ned Wolf. “People who had brain injury do not respond at all to the placebo effect.” Taking Accountability Ned Wolf says that we are responsible for our well-being. He believes one of the great gifts of Holistic health is to help people dealing with illness realize that they can open their minds. They can also experience greater well-being in the process. “One of the realms that I like to operate is helping clients realize that it is how they use their consciousness that’s producing their state of health or lack of it. For example, our dreams have information on how we can heal.” Dreams and after-death experiences highlight the power of energy and consciousness. But Ned Wolf says we do not need to die to realize this aspect of our existence. Understanding the afterlife can be complicated but Ned Wolf mentioned that philosopher and author Dr. Raymond Moody’s books on the subject are an excellent resource. “We do not need to die to get to this place. Sometimes people need to work with their attitude to discover how they’re blocking their dreams,” said Ned Wolf. “Part of the growth is being able to accept the dark places within ourselves, not condemn them but rather recognize there’s something that seeks to heal.” Radionics Ned Wolf also mentioned that radionics is another tool that can we can benefit from. Radionics is an alternative medicine claiming that diseases can be diagnosed and treated with an energy that is similar to radio waves. “It is also similar to Homeopathy. It’s a study on how particular frequencies affect imbalances, emotional congestions or unresolved emotional conflicts,” Ned Wolf explained. “Radionics also helps an organ in the body release that unresolved conflict.” Actionable Steps For Healing Ned Wolf believes that the first and foremost step to healing is learning to love yourself. Especially that part that is in ill-health. It is also important to be aware that as long as we do not know the power of our consciousness, chances of healing are much more remote. “Learn to adjust so we can use consciousness constructively. Self-reflecting is also important,” advises Ned Wolf. “Physical imbalance can also mean we are using consciousness expressing vibrations of hate. And hate causes destruction. So take out judgment, self-condemnation, and self-punishment.” Ned Wolf again mentions dowsing. This is because dowsing is a natural state where our consciousness connects with the consciousness of the cells in the body. “If we can allow that possibility to exist, we can start using those channels and listen when the body speaks to us,” Ned Wolf said. Spiritual Mentoring Ned Wolf does offer spiritual mentoring for people who are engaged in the process of supporting others in their healing. I advise checking out his amazing website to have access to his books, videos, and blog where you will learn so much about the power of healing. Speaking of mentoring, I’m also offering an online program to help you end your anxiety. I have spent 14 months collecting information on removing anxiety, and I’m giving it to you for free! Link to my Free Your Anxiety webinar so you can end your worry and control your fear from this day forward. Bio Ned Wolf wrote his first book when he was seven years old. He wanted to write a compilation of what he found useful in life so that he wouldn’t forget the essential ideas later on. When Ned Wolf is not working on his novels, he serves clients as a counselor, mediator and natural healer. He uses vibrational therapies, including Reiki energy, Rebirthing breathwork, and vibrational remedies that are produced radionically. Ned Wolf got his Holistic Health Practitioner Degree from Pacific School of Holistic Health 1987. He learned a lot about himself playing tennis twice a week and singing. Ned Wolf writes music for the soprano sax and also perform at markets, pubs and open mic nights. He is also a student of Tai Chi and has taken much inspiration from Jane Roberts Seth books. Episode 337with Kalliopi Amygdalouhosted by Michael TalbotDownload the podcastFeed | iTunes | GooglePlay | SoundCloudDuring the late Ottoman period, the diverse and vibrant Aegean ports of Izmir (Smyrna) and Thessaloniki (Salonica) experienced rapid growth and transformation through the increased interconnection of the Mediterranean world and the rise of maritime trade. But in the tumultuous final decade of the Ottoman period, both cities witnessed political and demographic upheaval as well as outright destruction by fire. With Thessaloniki permanently incorporated into Greece and Izmir into the new Republic of Turkey in 1923, the two cities seemed destined to follow different paths. Yet as our guest Kalliopi Amygdalou explains, interesting comparisons and parallels between the development of Izmir and Thessaloniki endured even after they ceased to be part of a unified Ottoman polity. In this episode, we follow the story of urban and architectural transformation in Izmir and Thessaloniki after the decade of war between the Balkan Wars (1912-13) and the establishment of the Republic of Turkey and the period that followed in the two cities under a transition from empire to nation-state.« Click for More »

The Holographic Universe is a theory that was purported by author Michael Talbot in the early 1990's and has grown in popularity ever since. He combined theories of Bohm and Prigram into a theory that the universe itself was a 3D projection from a 2D source that would allow and help to explain many phenomena such as ESP, ghosts, aliens, UFOs, telekinesis, and much more. I dig into its implications in visualization and even in the idea that universe may try to change our "truth" once we discover over time through the Decline Effect. www.meandparanormalyou.com www.ryansingercomedy.com www.patreon.com/ryansinger 818-839-0593 Mindline www.society6.com/mapy Please rate & review on iTunes & Stitcher & GooglePlay! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/meandparanormalyou/message
In this episode, we further discuss the experiment that was done on human cells. Trenayce continues this discussion by bridging this study to the physics concept of Entanglement. with Michael Talbot & Güneş Işıkselhosted by Arianne Urus and Sam DolbeeDownload the episodePodcast Feed | iTunes | Soundcloud This podcast explores murky boundaries in two senses. The first has to do with Anglo-Ottoman commerce and diplomacy in the early modern period. Like the more well-known case of the the British East India Company in South Asia, British diplomatic representation in Constantinople was also controlled by a corporate entity. Known as the Levant Company, the institution ensured that from the late 16th to the early 19th century there was little distinction between merchants and statesmen when it came to British diplomacy in the Ottoman Empire. The blurred lines gave way to what might be called a “cycle of necessity,” in which British diplomats gave gifts to secure commercial privileges for British merchants who would then fund the diplomats to provide gifts again. Yet the cycle did not always proceed smoothly, and discrepancies between translations of agreements often played a key role in hitches, in the process raising basic yet profound questions about what treaty-making meant. The second part of the podcast considers Ottoman maritime space and legal order more broadly. With respect to this theme, murkiness makes another appearance, this time as it related to the ability to possess or control the sea. What did it mean to draw a line across the waves, to differentiate between su and derya? Particularly in an age of imprecise mapmaking technologies, these efforts at delineation often were accompanied by a good deal of ambiguity, pointing to the complexity - if not always plurality - of legal cultures and claims to sovereignty that existed in the Ottoman maritime space and, indeed, that extended even ashore the well-protected domains as well.« Click for More »

In Chapter 6, the author describes how a hologram is made, and why quantum physicists believe that we are living in a holographic universe. “It is relatively easy to understand this idea of holism in something that is external to us, like an apple in a hologram. What makes this difficult is that we are not looking at the hologram; we are part of the hologram.” (Michael Talbot, The Holographic Universe) In Chapter 7, the author explains Dr. Karl Pribram’s conclusion that the human brain is itself a hologram that "mathematically constructs ‘hard’ reality by relying on input from a frequency domain.” We also learn about recent brain research that suggests the human brain receives a hologram in wave frequencies from The Field, collapses the wave function and converts them into particles to create physical “reality,” and then sends that “reality” “out there” for you to experience - and that there is no independent, objective reality “out there.”
