This book builds on previous themes, proposing that technology and spirituality are converging as humanity's search for meaning evolves, possibly birthing a new form of digital divinity. Bard and Söderqvist examine historical and cultural shifts leading to an age where AI and technology serve as humanity's next evolutionary leap, merging modern science, mysticism, and a radical rethinking of historical Western ideas.

Contributor: Aaron Lessen, MD Educational Pearls: How fast does cellulitis recover? A recent prospective cohort study took a look at this question. The study included 300 adults with cellulitis (excluding those with peri-orbital cellulitis or abscesses) in two emergency departments in Queensland, Australia. They collected data from initial and follow-up surveys at 3, 7, and 14 days, and compared clinician and patient assessments at day 14. Improvement was fastest between day 0 and day 3, with gradual progress thereafter. At day 14, many still had skin redness and swelling, though warmth had often resolved. Clinicians reported higher cure rates than patients (85.8% vs. 52.8%). Conclusion: Cellulitis symptoms improve quickly at first but continue to linger for many patients. Patients and doctors often have different views on when cellulitis is fully cured. How should we counsel patients? Even on antibiotics, the margins of the cellulitis may continue to spread a small amount. Skin warmth should be the first symptom to go away. It takes time to get better. Only about 50% of patients believed their cellulitis was cured at 2 weeks. References Nightingale, R. S., Etheridge, N., Sweeny, A. L., Smyth, G., Dace, W., Pellatt, R. A. F., Snelling, P. In this conversation, first released on Andrew Sweeny's channel, The Parallax, John Vervaeke, Andrew Sweeny, and Christopher Mastropietro examine the delicate balance between philosophical rigor and spiritual experiences. They probe the challenges and rewards of navigating this complex terrain, emphasizing the transformative power of love, wisdom, and existential inquiry. By blurring the traditional boundaries between philosophical inquiry and religious practice, this conversation invites listeners to deepen their exploration of truth and meaning, ultimately fostering personal and communal growth.   Andrew Sweeny is an educator, writer, musician, and podcaster who currently teaches at Sciences Po University in Paris and serves as an editor at Parallax magazine.  Christopher Mastropietro is a philosophical writer who is fascinated by dialogue, symbols, and the concept of self. From 'Baseball Isn't Boring' (subscribe here): Few had such a great front row seat to the work and calls of Yankees broadcaster John Sterling than Sweeny Murti. That's why it was perfect timing for Rob Bradford to catch up with Sweeny to talk about all things Sterling, with the iconic voice of the Yanks stepping down from the booth Monday. Murti - who worked as part of the Yankees broadcast for WFAN for more than 20 years - offers great insight into all things Sterling. How he approached broadcast. Why his presence was so important. How he became so unique. And, of course, how he came up with those home run calls. It's a perfect tribute to the man of the hour.
