We continue with season 2 of Street Vibes Pulse of the Street. This season we explore support for Trump V Harris. In part 1, we were at a train station speaking with a Caucasian American in Philly originally from New Jersey. In this episode TRAILER, part 2 of this season's series, we interview a young black American male from Philly whose heritage hails from Nigeria. Like many young men in Philly he seems to be supporting Trump because they believe that Trump would be more willing to give Americans money which many received during Covid19 pandemic. In part 1, the white American woman was excited about Kamala Harris, while IN THIS EPISODE TRAILER (PART 2) the young black male was not. QUESTION: Is this an indication of voting patterns in Philadelphia and across cities in America? This week, we're diving into the profile of an evangelist. Jesus called ordinary men to follow Him and become "fishers of men," capturing hearts and minds for God. How do we, His disciples, continue His work? Let's believe and lean in to learn how the Holy Spirit empowers us as ordinary people to do extraordinary things for God's Kingdom.
Pastor Poncho Lowder from Dreamer's Church in Austin, Texas is with us this week! He will be sharing on HOW to take Jesus to the streets, and just how powerful our words can be. Let's lean in and hear how evangelism in our community can show up in the least expected but most impactful ways.
It's our annual Global Sunday at Sun City Church! Our Global Missions Coordinator, Brent Earwicker, joins us to share a message on the ultimate adventure of global missions. Tune in to hear the heart behind what it means to be Jesus in the streets globally.
Jesus isn't meant to be confined to our hearts or homes but taken to the streets to reach those far from God. This week, we get to hear all about the power of our stories and when Jesus came not for the righteous, but for all of us as sinners. Let's lean in and learn how to break through barriers to receive Jesus and bring Him to those who need Him most.
Jesus removes the boundaries of Heaven, making blessings accessible to anyone who calls on His name. Last week, we revealed the lie that we should keep Jesus confined to private spaces; this week, we'll explore what happens when Jesus steps into the public sphere and transforms lives. Let's see what happens when He takes to the streets!
Welcome to our new series that shares the importance of living out our faith publicly and boldly, embracing the call to share Jesus beyond the confines of home and church. The love of Jesus is for everyone, but how do we share the Gospel as we face a pressure from culture to keep the Good News in safe and secluded spaces? Join us and learn how to take Jesus to the streets!
Today's Topics: 1, 2, 3, 4) Gospel - Jn 12:44-50 - Jesus cried out and said, “Whoever believes in Me believes not only in Me but also in the One Who sent Me, and whoever sees Me sees the One Who sent Me. I came into the world as light, so that everyone who believes in Me might not remain in darkness. And if anyone hears My words and does not observe them, I do not condemn him, for I did not come to condemn the world but to save the world. Whoever rejects Me and does not accept My words has something to judge him: the word that I spoke, it will condemn him on the last day, because I did not speak on My own, but the Father Who sent Me commanded Me what to say and speak. And I know that His commandment is eternal life. So what I say, I say as the Father told Me.” Memorial of Saint Fidelis of Sigmaringen, Priest and Martyr Saint Fidelis, pray for us!
Today's Topics: 1, 2, 3, 4) Gospel - Jn 10:22-30 - The feast of the Dedication was taking place in Jerusalem. It was winter. And Jesus walked about in the temple area on the Portico of Solomon. So the Jews gathered around Him and said to Him, “How long are You going to keep us in suspense? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly.” Jesus answered them, “I told you and you do not believe. The works I do in My Father's name testify to Me. But you do not believe, because you are not among My sheep. My sheep hear My Voice; I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish. No one can take them out of My Hand. My Father, Who has given them to Me, is greater than all, and no one can take them out of the Father's Hand. The Father and I are one.” Memorial of Saint Adalbert, Bishop and Martyr Memorial of Saint George, Martyr Saints Adalbert and George, pray for us!

“He saw the remains of his father dug up again.” That was the traumatic experience of one man in a village which was forcibly relocated due to coal mining. It was told to us by Christopher Laumanns, who helped found the group Alle Dörfer Bleiben to fight on behalf of villages threatened by fossil fuel extraction. In Episode 2 of Sticking Point, Izzy and Anne-Marie hear the stories of pain and anger that inspire Germany's climate movement activists. Tadzio Müller discusses how place-based movements can break through ideology and make things more real, something that Ende Gelände was very effective in doing. While a lot of this work took place on the interpersonal level, activists like Annemarie Botzky from Extinction Rebellion and Clara Duvigneau from Fridays for Future were able to raise public consciousness and force politicians to agree to goals. But then, the corona pandemic hit. What do climate activists do when they're not allowed to bring people together on the streets? Botzky and Duvigneau describe how their respective groups have handled the change in momentum. Journalist Paul Hockenos and Jérémie Gagné from the More in Common thinktank help to contextualize their impact. About Sticking Point: Izzy Choksey and Anne-Marie Harrison take a journey through Germany's climate movement in this Radio Spaetkauf series. Sticking Point meets the people inside Germany's climate movement: from the tactics of the anti-nuclear campaigns, to activists clambering onto coal excavators, striking students and people gluing their hands to roads. We find out what motivates activists and why they are willing to use increasingly radical means to force change. Boston is trying to figure out a way to tackle the current issue of food delivery drivers clogging the city's already congested streets. Couriers for delivery apps such as Uber Eats and DoorDash are finding themselves having to double park during the lunch and dinner rush causing traffic jams and leading to complaints from other local businesses. Trigger warnings for this episode, we discuss Sarah Everard, violence against women, rape and sexual assault in this episode. If you are not in the mood to listen to these topics, please protect yourself and perhaps give this one a miss.My guest today is Jamie Klingler, writer, activist, keynote speaker and campaigner for women's safety as co-founder of Reclaim These Streets. This is part two of this full conversation with Jamie (part one available here). In this episode we are discussing her activist work, how Reclaim These Streets started, how to show up and make change and what we can do to help. The group began as a collective of women organising a vigil for Sarah Everard in March 2021, to raise awareness, make change and to stand up for all women who feel unsafe, have been lost to violence, who go missing from our streets and who face violence every day. They campaign, hold vigils, rally together volunteers and speak and act on women's safety and even recently took on the Met police. They aim to use legislation, education and community action to ensure no woman has to be asked to 'text me when you get home' again. I will leave all the information in the shownotes below, and thanks again to Jamie for coming on the podcast to chat to me about her work. Over the past couple weeks, crime has been on the rise in some of the nation's largest cities. There has been mass looting in cities such as Los Angeles, Chicago, and San Francisco where there is a lack of prosecution by local DAs. Closer to home in Boston, an 82-year-old was innocently attacked and followed by a group of ATV riders for just being on the street. Is Boston following the lead of cities like Los Angeles and Chicago where anarchy rules the streets?
