In this week's episode, we're discussing how digital fundraising and accessibility fuel data-driven decision-making and social connection, reshaping how we solve problems and care for one another. Technology often gets a bad reputation for being distracting or divisive, but it's also one of the most powerful tools we have to make the world better. Join us as we explore how technology can help us reconnect — with each other, with our communities, and with those who might otherwise be left behind.

Nelson and Sister Dantzel White Nelson, surrounded by music, books, art, faith and lots of love. She loves to spend time creating, being in nature and gathering with her family and friends. She is an artist, vocalist, and the author/illustrator of a book based on a favorite lullaby her mother used to sing, Pudding on the Moon. Malinda Lowder, Moser's Director of Sales and Marketing is joining us today to talk about the role of thought leadership in business and why it matters. In 2009, a relatively unknown speaker took the stage at a TEDx event in Puget Sound. His idea? That people don't buy what you do, they buy why you do it. That speaker was Simon Sinek—and within a few short years, his 'Start With Why' framework became a north star for leaders across industries. Not because he shouted the loudest, but because he offered something timeless in a way people hadn't heard before. Thought leadership isn't about being a know-it-all. It's about seeing things differently—and helping others see them too. As Sinek puts it, 'Leadership is not about being in charge. It is about taking care of those in your charge.' In this episode, we're unpacking the true role of thought leadership in business. Why it matters, how it creates trust and momentum, and why the best organizations don't just sell—they lead.

Jeff Stanfield and Andy Shaver are joined by evangelist, author, and founder of Jay Lowder Harvest Ministries, Jay Lowder. In this powerful episode, Jay shares the miracles he's witnessed while ministering around the world and dives into the ongoing battle between good and evil in the spiritual realm. He opens up about his personal struggles with addiction and suicide—and the life-changing moment when he surrendered to Christ.
Embracing Your Season: Raising Littles and Understanding Teens with Paige Clingenpeel
*Trigger Warning* This episode contains adult themes, specifically centered around suicide. Listener discretion is advised.Today, Paige welcomes Jay Lowder. Called to full-time evangelism in 1989, Jay is the founder of Jay Lowder Harvest Ministries, an organization dedicated to reaching diverse groups of people with the message of Jesus Christ. Through his ministry, he travels the globe to football stadiums, schools, churches, and coliseums to provide a message of hope to the hurting. Jay developed the nationally acclaimed school assembly Crossroads, which has been presented to 2 million students nationwide. Jay shares his incredibly powerful testimony and challenges us that a “spiritual experience”, while potentially a catalyst for faith, isn't a deep relationship with Jesus - that requires intention, dedication, reading His word, and living out the truth that Jesus is Lord and Savior in your life, every day. Paige's TakeawaysTrust that God is with you and that He has you (and your kids). This doesn't come quickly or necessarily naturally. This takes time in His Word, in prayer, in community with those who have walked with Him longer. Model this to your kids and provide counsel and support so they can grow in their own relationship with Him. Don't pray away the Goliaths for your kids.As much as we want a smooth and happy life for them, we sometimes have to let them make their own decisions (good and bad) so they learn and build their foundation of faith and trust in Jesus. Let them see the real Christ in your life. What does your life with Jesus look like in the day-to-day? Are you modeling Christlike behaviors to your kids? Do they see you reading your Bible and praying? Are you showing your kids that Jesus is priority #1 in your life?Pray for your kids!We can rest in the knowledge that God hears our prayers and loves our children more than we can.Paige ClingenpeelQuestions About the Podcast? This week, we’ll hear from Jay Lowder, an evangelist who has spent more than two decades traveling the globe, sharing the message of the gospel with audiences ranging from NFL teams to prison inmates. Early in his life, Jay struggled with depression which led him to medicate with alcohol, but ultimately brought him no peace from his pain. Feeling like giving up, Jay considered suicide, and he shares about the series of events that led him to finally find the peace he was looking for. Later in the episode, we’ll hear from Riley Kehoe, an influencer and author, who shares the harrowing story of how her family survived a tsunami in Thailand when she was just a little girl. Riley recounts the terrifying events of the day, how her family stayed to help those who lost everything, and how she leaned on scripture to deal with the aftermath of such a traumatic event. I didn't have a connection because I didn't have a relationship to Christ.” - Jay Lowder “I was in such a dark place that I questioned, Was God real? Was everything that I was ever told going to church authentic? Was that real? And I really didn't know the answer to that.” - Jay Lowder “The next thought that goes through my mind is, If God could forgive those Roman soldiers [who crucified Christ], maybe He could forgive me.” - Jay Lowder “I've never been the guy that says, ‘Well you know, if you come to know the Lord, all your problems are going to fade away.’ The truth is if you give your life to the Lord, there may be a season where things get worse.” - Jay Lowder “Knowing Jesus goes way beyond just going to heaven. It even goes beyond being forgiven. It goes to a Friend that's closer than a brother that wants to walk with you, lead you, and guide you. And it goes back to the verse that I heard the night I met Jesus. I want to snuggle my pony and be in my bed. My mom told us, ‘Hey, girls, we're going to stay. We need to have courage to care for others right now, and we need to help these people who have lost absolutely everything.’” - Riley Kehoe “I just want to encourage anyone that there is light and that Jesus will redeem, and He will be with you in your pain and your suffering. Chase Burns, the Cincinnati Reds' highly touted pitching prospect, is set to make his much-anticipated professional debut in a Spring Training game against the Texas Rangers on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. Selected as the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft out of Wake Forest, Burns has quickly become a cornerstone of the Reds' future plans, boasting a triple-digit fastball and a slider widely regarded as one of the best in the prospect ranks. While this debut won't be televised, fans can still follow along via Statcast data, offering a glimpse into the 22-year-old's electric arsenal as he takes the mound for the first time in a Reds uniform. Burns' journey to this moment has been marked by dominance and deliberate preparation. At Wake Forest, he led college baseball with 191 strikeouts in 100 innings during the 2024 season, earning ACC Pitcher of the Year honors and cementing his status as a top draft talent. His fastball, which can touch 102 mph with exceptional vertical break, pairs devastatingly with a slider that features late, tight movement—attributes that have scouts projecting him as a future ace. After being drafted, the Reds opted to hold him out of minor league action in 2024, instead focusing on instructional league work to ensure he was primed for a full 2025 campaign. This approach mirrors the development path of fellow Wake Forest alum Rhett Lowder, who debuted for the Reds in 2024 just over a year after being drafted. For the Reds, Burns represents a critical piece in their ongoing effort to build a competitive rotation. With young arms like Hunter Greene, Nick Lodolo, and Lowder already in the mix, Burns' arrival could elevate Cincinnati's pitching staff to elite status. His debut comes at a pivotal time as the Reds aim to rebound from a middling 2024 season and push toward contention under new manager Terry Francona. While Spring Training stats are unofficial, this outing will offer an early look at how Burns' stuff translates against professional hitters, including those from a Rangers squad featuring starter Tyler Mahle. Though Burns is unlikely to break camp with the big-league club, a strong spring could accelerate his timeline to the majors. Reds fans, eager for a glimpse of their top prospect, will be watching closely as he takes his first step toward what many hope will be a transformative career in Cincinnati.

Send us a textWelcome to another inspiring episode of "God-sized Stories with Patricia Holbrook."In this episode, we are honored to have Jay Lowder as our special guest. Jay shares his powerful testimony of overcoming deep despair and finding God during his darkest moments.Jay Lowder, a native Texan, grew up in the culturally-rich environment of the American South, where church life was a central part of his upbringing. In his community, attending church services multiple times a week was standard. This constant engagement with church was not just about the spiritual journey for everyone; for many, it was also a social hub. Jay's story reflects the unique social fabric of Southern life, where church attendance was as much about community as it was about faith. What's Inside This Episode?

Fran is the appointed President of For Our Town Gilbert, an organization that brings together the leaders of government, education, faiths, businesses, charities and more to focus on the community social uplifting needs like domestic violence elimination, mental health awareness-improvement, hunger, shelter, and many more. While this organization existed before she was asked to lead, it rarely had an impact on the town. During the first year of service the group grew For Our Town quarterly breakfast to over 100 participants, a food drive that has collected over 500K lbs of food; and thousands of school supplies. She and her sweetheart of 36 years have 4 children (1 girl and 3 boys) and she has taught them the value of service and giving. She has one grandson with a granddaughter on the the way. Before leading For Our Town, Fran helped to bring the JustServe initiative to Arizona. JustServe is a website that connects volunteers with non-profits to bring help to the heroes that lead these charities. www.JustServe.com She focused on Gilbert, the east valley of Phoenix to start. The initiative and website had zero volunteers and zero non-profits, and this was one of the first 5 cities to implement JustServe. She plowed the ground for future success and when she handed over the reins of the website/app it had thousands of volunteers and almost every charity in the area using it as their default volunteer connection site. You can now find JustServe in almost every city in the USA and in many other countries. You'd think she didn't have time for anything else, but she also is the co-Director of the Arizona Light the World GIVING MACHINES with her husband Steve. What is a Giving Machine? Well, they are vending machines that allow you to give to those in need by buying items for charities that are loaded in the machines. She manages the city leaders for seven cities in Arizona (Glendale, Gilbert, Tucson, Flagstaff, Prescott, Gila Valley, and Snowflake). Each city has a committee of around 20 to 30 volunteers. The machines support 30 charities this past year and raised $1.5 million for the charities and ALL the donations (yes, 100% went to the charity). She's co-led this work for 7 years and raised over $6M dollars total. ---------- Guiding Growth: Conversations with Community Leaders Join our hosts, Sarah Watts and Ben Kalkman, as we explore the human journey of leaders - their stories of humility, triumph, roadblocks, and lessons learned - as they reflect on how they became who they are today and share stories of inspiration and hope with listeners. Episode 294: On the evening of December 21, 1883, near Bloomfield, Ontario, visitor Peter Lazier was murdered by two intruders at the farmhouse of Quakers Gilbert and Margaret Jones. The community, deeply affected, quickly organized a search. They traced footprints in the snow, leading to Joseph Thomset and the Lowder family's homes near West Lake. By the next day, Joseph Thomset and brothers David and George Lowder were arrested and charged with murder. The legal process moved rapidly. The coroner's inquest began the next day, followed by formal proceedings within a week. The trial, held at the Prince Edward County Courthouse in Picton just five months later, suggested the motive was robbery, aimed at stealing the $555 Gilbert Jones earned from selling hops. George Lowder and Joseph Thomset were found guilty of murder and hanged in June of 1884. Many felt justice was served, but others believed the law got it wrong, acting hastily without sufficient evidence. In this special release episode, Just Science sat down with Dr. Evan Marie Lowder, Associate Professor at George Mason University, Dr. Eric Grommon, Applied Criminologist and Associate Professor at Indiana University Indianapolis, and Dr. Brad Ray, Senior Researcher at RTI International, to discuss their evaluation of the Indianapolis police and mental health co-response team program described in the previous episode. To evaluate the Indianapolis co-response program, a randomized controlled study of 911 calls for service was utilized to help ensure that any positive or negative outcomes were a direct result of the program rather than other factors. When conducted outside of a laboratory setting, this type of study requires extensive planning, coordination, and trust-building between researchers and practitioners. Listen along as Dr. Lowder, Dr. Grommon, and Dr. Ray describe the moving parts that facilitate real-world randomized controlled trials, the importance of directly comparing outcomes from co-response cases to outcomes from traditional policing cases, and the results from the Indianapolis co-response program evaluation. This episode is funded in part by RTI International's Justice Practice Area and the Mobile Crisis Assistance Team program supported by Arnold Ventures. Some content in this podcast may be considered sensitive and may evoke emotional responses or may not be appropriate for younger audiences.
