"On 2 U" It's hard to imagine a band working today that captures the grit and the glamor of Los Angeles better than Starcrawler. Formed in 2015 by teenage classmates, the young band tore out of the gates with an aggressive blend of crunchy punk and deliciously sleazy hard rock. Led by singer Arrow De Wilde, Starcrawler are one of those rare out of the box bands that knew who they were early on--which is really just a way of saying they sounded like they were born ready to be rock stars. The band's three long players--Starcrawler, Devour You and She Said--form a winning triptych of driving and doomy rock and roll that's powered by DeWilde's winning vocal bite. The band, which is made up of DeWilde, Cash and his brother Bill, and rounded out by Seth Carolina and Tim Franco, play tight sludgy riffs, whiplash drum fills and prowling baselines that stalk through each number with muscle and nerve. One of the most charismatic, dynamic and adrenalized live acts on the planet, Starcrawler have done a lot in the last decade; they've played South By Southwest, Later With Jools Holland, toured all over the U.S., Europe and Australia, played shows with Garbage and Nick Cave and have just released their new single "On 2 U." As for guitarist Henri Cash, the Southern California native is a busy guy--known for playing a three-string guitar, Cash's riffs are inventive and intuitive and beneath their aggression is an undeniable discipline and craft. Cash has collaborated with the band Plague Vendor and along with Sophia Skye he formed the duo Cash & Skye, who put out a seven-inch on Jack White's Third Man Records. He's a busy guy, so we're grateful he took the time to sit down with us. www.starcrawler.com www.bombshellradio.com (http://www.bombshellradio.com) www.stereoembersmagazine.com (http://www.stereoembersmagazine.com) www.alexgreenbooks.com (http://www.alexgreenbooks.com) BLUESKY + THREADS + IG: @emberspodcast Email: editor@stereoembersmagazine.com

Tom was born and raised in New Jersey. He grew up in the town of Howell, where he attended the Fine and Performing Arts Center at Howell High School. Upon graduation, he attended Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University (obtaining a BFA in acting), where he also had the opportunity to study Shakespeare at the Globe Theatre in London, England. Tom's first professional job was on the long-running CBS daytime show Guiding Light. During the two and a half years he was on the show, he was nominated for four consecutive Daytime Emmy Awards, winning twice (in 2006 and 2008). Having worked in theater, television, and independent film, he eventually became a series regular on the hit Cinemax show Banshee, playing former neo-Nazi Kurt Bunker. Tom is a founding member and the current Artistic Director of the Apothecary Theatre Company—a NYC-based non-profit that develops and produces world premieres of new plays by up-and-coming playwrights. He made his Broadway debut in 2012 as Judy Garland's last husband, Mickey Deans, in the critically acclaimed End of the Rainbow, directed by Tony Award Winner Terry Johnson. Since his breakout in Ozark and David Fincher's Mank, he has gone on to star in Outer Range, Love and Death, She Said, and HBO's Task. Considering that this interview was done via Zoom (a TOA first), as a means of moving forward in spite of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is befitting that this episode of That One Audition retells the stories of adaptation and triumph that landed Tom Pelphrey right here. Recent high-profile legal disputes with Johnny Depp and Amber Heard and Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni have renewed public debate about gender, power and credibility in the courts. But beyond the celebrity cases lies a deeper question: how fairly does the justice system treat women? In this episode, Mythili Rao speaks to barrister Charlotte Proudman about the gender bias and misogyny she argues remain embedded in our the legal system. Drawing on her work in the family courts, Proudman examines how women seeking protection from domestic abuse, forced marriage, child abduction and female genital mutilation can be failed by processes that were not designed around their experiences. Together they explore the culture of the legal profession, the treatment of survivors in the family courts and the reforms Proudman believes are needed to secure fairer outcomes. At its centre is a question about justice itself: how can equality before the law become more than an ideal? Charlotte Proudman is an award-winning barrister specialising in family law and women's rights. She is the author of He Said, She Said. Mythili Rao is a journalist, book critic and podcaster. The Author Events Series presents Jodi Kantor | How to Start Join Jodi Kantor and Michael Solomonov for a discussion of the question: how, in these challenging times, can anyone discover and begin their life's work? Jodi Kantor's groundbreaking reporting has toppled media magnates, sparked reform worldwide, and foretold many of the unsettling changes we see in the workplace today. But before all of this, Kantor was kicked off her college newspaper. Society expects perfection, but Kantor knows those first professional steps are often rocky. She also knows that young people are facing new and frightening terrain, with political upheaval, skyrocketing costs of living, and the unknowns of AI. Kantor casts aside platitudes and false hope to offer tangible help. Work is how we spend much of our time. It's our engine of progress: how cancer therapies are invented, political campaigns won, thrilling art created and matched with an audience. Instead of letting cynicism take over, Kantor identifies two principles to help young people discover their life's work: craft and need. By pairing the two, they can navigate tough, sensitive choices: how to think about money. How much risk to take on. When to buck what others are saying. Powerful and provocative, How to Start is a statement of faith for young people as they make their way through uncertain times, offering wisdom, strategy, and a set of aspirations to launch their careers and last their whole lives. Jodi Kantor is a New York Times investigative reporter who has revealed hidden truths about power, technology, gender, law, and employment. In 2017, she and Megan Twohey exposed Harvey Weinstein's treatment of women, setting off the worldwide #Metoo reckoning. They were awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service and co-authored She Said, a book taking readers inside their investigation, also made into a film. Recently, she has been working to illuminate one of our most secretive and critical institutions, the Supreme Court. Kantor lives in Brooklyn, NY, with her husband Ron Lieber and their two children. She began her journalism career by dropping out of law school, and she speaks at campuses across the country about finding work of meaning. As chef of the trailblazing restaurant Zahav, and co-owner of CookNSolo Restaurants with his twenty-year business partner Steve Cook, Michael Solomonov has redefined Israeli cuisine in the U.S. and beyond. With five James Beard Awards, including Zahav's ''Outstanding Restaurant'' accolade in 2019, he is celebrated for honoring Israel's diverse culinary traditions through innovative flavors and vibrant settings. Solomonov's Philadelphia-based group includes beloved concepts like Dizengoff, Goldie, K'Far and Laser Wolf, with recent expansions in New York and Miami's 1 Hotel South Beach. Through his acclaimed cookbooks and the launch of Zahav Restaurant Recipe Hummus at Whole Foods, he continue to share his signature approach to Israeli flavors with a nationwide audience. Outside of the restaurants, you can often find Michael with Steve at Pho 75 in South Philly, working out the kinks in their Israeli village. Because you love Author Events, please make a donation when you register for this event to ensure that this series continues to inspire Philadelphians. Books will be available for purchase at the library on event night! All tickets are non-refundable. (recorded 5/19/2026)
Send us Fan Mail**Content warning: this episode contains discussion of domestic and sexual abuse and child removal see below for support links***This is the first in a two-part series, produced in partnership with the non-profit organisation Right to Equality, where we look into the shocking subject of child removal in private family proceedings in England and Wales. To help me understand more about this phenomenon I'm joined by three impressive guests:Dr Charlotte Proudman, women's rights barrister, Founder of Right to Equality, and author of the book “He Said, She Said” recalls how she represented a 15 year old girl we call “Florence”. Charlotte talks about Florence's remarkable courage in independently fighting to return to her mum in the High Court, after she was removed from her aged 10. “He Said, She Said” is out now in paperback. You can read more about Florence's case in an article by The Bureau of Investigative Journalism here. Professor Jo Delahunty KC is a leading silk in both public and private law cases. She was the winner of 2025 Family silk of the year for skills. She is also an author of two recent books, “We Set the Bar” and “Domestic Abuse and the Family Justice System”. Jo tells us about a recent groundbreaking case Re: Y (Experts and Alienating Behaviour: The Modern Approach) where she represented a 15 year old boy as he put forward his case to return to his mother, before the most senior family judge in England and Wales. The Victims' Commissioner for England and Wales, Claire Waxman OBE, also joins Sara's panel of guests to share how she came to learn about the phenomena of child removal and the role that unregulated experts have to play in these removals. She shares her personal experience and work in uncovering the harmful practices of experts and her hopes for imminent change. Jerrilyn and Lynee’ bounce from celebrity mess to real-life boundaries in this Best of She Said it First episode — starting with Lil Uzi Vert’s interview that they feel embarrasses JT and spiraling into commentary on relationships that sound like chasing and chaos. They admit they don’t even keep up with most gossip (blocking sites like The Shade Room), then pivot to how hard it is to make new friends as adults—especially when you’re busy, low-maintenance, and your unruly dog Toto is basically your “crackhead son,” complete with an e-collar training moment. The conversation turns darker-but-still-comedic with the viral “alpine divorce” trend (men abandoning women on trips), a debate about true-crime/serial killer museums and who deserves to be “on display,” and a blunt list of who they wouldn’t date. They close by questioning why women support artists accused of abuse, and reacting to a video of a wife nagging her husband while he tries to rest in his car—using it as a lesson in insecurity, control, and respecting boundaries. What type of protagonist does your story feature? There are 4 types, each of them can be a constant character or a change character, and each one evokes a different emotion from your reader/viewer. And that's exactly what I'm studying this season starting with the hero which could be a literal superhero, or it could be a little old lady. And Melanie is studying the story premise and how to articulate a story in one sentence (because it's a skill EVERY writer needs!). There's loads of great stuff coming up this season, starting with this episode all about Murder, She Said. Enjoy! -V. Surrealism, pretentious, or something else is the question posed as Revolver's first side bows out with She Said, She Said. Does the song round the first side off in a satisfactory way? Does it suffer from (probably) not having McCartney on it? And what has Peggy Suicide got to do with any of this? Dan Nathan and Guy Adami cover PPI, upcoming earnings, and this week's jobs report. They focus on mounting stress in the AI infrastructure and financing complex: CoreWeave's post-earnings drop, heavy customer concentration, funding challenges, and Jim Chanos' critique that its GPU-leasing model loses money and shows distress-level liquidity, alongside declines in Apollo, KKR, Blackstone, and banks. They contrast Nvidia's strong quarter and 60% growth outlook with stock stagnation, discuss Broadcom as a key AI barometer, and note ongoing software multiple and margin compression highlighted by volatile moves in Workday and Salesforce. Despite rising VIX swings, falling 10-year yields, and consumer-credit concerns signaled by AmEx, Capital One, Klarna, and Walmart trade-down commentary, the S&P remains near highs; they also discuss crude's rebound amid Middle East tensions and Bitcoin weakness pressuring MicroStrategy. After the break, Jen & Kristen join Dan and Guy live from the iConnections Global Alts conference in Miami to unpack an “AI panic” market day, why higher productivity could mean higher rates, and what private credit hiccups really signal for hedge funds and alts. They also explain how The Wall Street Skinny is turning arcane finance jargon into plain English for everyone from college students to the C‑suite, plus why there are no dumb questions when it comes to bonds, credit, and careers on Wall Street. Send a textIn the sixth installment of He Said, She Said on the Risk Reversal Podcast, Kristen and Jen are joined by CNBC's Dan Nathan and Guy Adami to talk century bonds, Paramount / Warner Brothers update, and the existential angst surrounding AI. The episode kicks off with a listener question about Alphabet's recent $32 billion debt issuance, including a rare 100-year sterling bond, prompting a deep dive into who issues century bonds, who actually buys them, and what locking in ultra-long-term rates signals about corporate views on term premium and fiscal risk. From there, the group pivots to an update on the Warner Bros–Paramount–Netflix saga, Finally, the crew tackles the market's rapidly shifting narrative around AI. What was once a universal tailwind for SaaS and hyperscalers now feels like a sector-wide threat, with investors “shooting first and asking questions later.” The group weigh in on productivity, unemployment fears, private market risk, and whether today's selloff in software names is a buying opportunity or a warning sign. Send us a textKristen and Jen are joined by Guy Adami and Dan Nathan of CNBC's Fast Money for the fifth installment of "He Said, She Said." The conversation kicks off with the so-called "SaaS Apocalypse" — the brutal selloff across software stocks — and unpacks how the market narrative shifted in just one week from "when will AI spending pay off?" to "what happens when AI destroys your core business?" The group debates whether the repricing is justified or overdone, digs into the credit market spillover with $17.7 billion in SaaS-related loans hitting distressed levels, and discusses what it all means for private credit exposure. From there, the panel takes on Bitcoin's collapse to $60,000 — roughly half its all-time high — and asks whether the "digital gold" thesis is officially dead now that crypto fell apart while precious metals hit records. They also break down the equity rotation into financials and energy, the irony of banks rallying on AI-driven deal flow while AI-adjacent companies crater, and what enterprise adoption of AI could mean for the hyperscalers longer term. The episode wraps with a look at Elon Musk's latest consolidation play, SpaceX acquiring xAI ahead of a rumored mega-IPO, and a macro check-in covering weak seasonals, a deteriorating jobs picture, rising 10-year yields, and the historical pattern of markets testing every new Fed chair. For a 14 day FREE Trial of Macabacus, click HEREShop our Self Paced Courses: Investment Banking & Private Equity Fundamentals HEREFixed Income Sales & Trading HERE Wealthfront.com/wss. Send us a textThis week on He Said, She Said, CNBC Fast Money stars, Guy Adami and Dan Nathan together with Kristen and Jen from The Wall Street Skinny dive into one of the most overlooked market shocks of the year: a massive, seven standard deviation move in the Japanese bond market. Jen breaks down why the long-assumed era of low inflation and easy monetary policy in Japan may be ending—and what that means for global markets. From failed bond auctions to yield curve dislocations, this is a masterclass in sovereign debt and fiscal risk with insights that apply far beyond Japan. The group also debates Netflix's all-cash bid for Warner Bros. Discovery, and why shareholders seem so uneasy about it. Kristen explains the counterintuitive math behind why switching from a stock deal to an all-cash offer actually hurts Netflix's earnings per share, why Wall Street hates uncertainty, and why shareholders have reason to be skeptical M&A won't destroy shareholder value. After all the same Warner Brothers was the target of the catastrophic 2000s AOL-Time Warner merger that is the poster child for M&A gone bad? Finally, the gang touches on gold, silver shortages, and the deeper themes driving flight to hard assets. From gold coins in safes to astrology readings in St. John, it's a whirlwind of macro, M&A, and mayhem—with plenty of jokes (and Dutch oven references) along the way.Shop our Self Paced Courses: Investment Banking & Private Equity Fundamentals HEREFixed Income Sales & Trading HERE Wealthfront.com/wss. Guy Adami is joined by Danny Moses for a wide‑ranging macro conversation on gold, silver, Japan, energy stocks, banks, the Fed and the “K‑shaped” U.S. economy. They start with precious metals, breaking down why silver's industrial demand from EVs, solar and AI data centers is creating a structural supply squeeze, what it means for gold vs. silver, and how miners like Coeur Mining (CDE), Freeport‑McMoRan (FCX) and Newmont (NEM) fit into the trade. From there, they connect the metals story to Japan's weakening yen, surging bond yields, the carry trade, and the risk that a “point of no return” in Japanese policy spills over into U.S. Treasuries and global risk assets. In this episode of 'He Said, She Said', Guy Adami, Kristen Kelly & Jen Saarbach dive into the theme of unintended consequences. The discussion begins with Jerome Powell's saga and its implications on the Fed's independence and market reactions, highlighting potential political maneuvers and their backfires. Transitioning to monetary policy, they analyze the complexities of interest rate decisions and the perceptions of Fed control over the yield curve. Shifting to consumer finance, they debate the Biden administration's proposal to cap credit card rates and its potential repercussions on the economy. Corporate drama takes center stage with an in-depth analysis of the bidding war for Warner Brothers, involving Netflix, Paramount, and regulatory hurdles, likened to a real-life 'Succession'. They conclude by addressing headlines about Blackstone's housing market involvement and the impact on prices, underscoring the intricate web of economic policies and market behaviors. The episode wraps with discussions on gold and silver markets, oil prices, and the weakening US dollar, showcasing the multifaceted landscape of global finance. —FOLLOW USYouTube: @RiskReversalMediaInstagram: @riskreversalmediaTwitter: @RiskReversalLinkedIn: RiskReversal Media
