Bishop Gregory Parkes reflects on this Sunday's Gospel reading.
26th Sunday in Ordinary Time In this Sunday's Gospel we have a story of change: one son says "no" to his dad's request, then changes his mind and does it; the other says "yes" to his dad's request, then changes his mind and doesn't do it. We all have the possibility to change, for better or for worse, every single day. Every day is an opportunity to follow God's voice again...or to choose to let that voice fade into the background. A disciple is one who follows the voice of God each and every day; one who has an obedient and faithful heart - not just in word, but also in action; not just on Sunday, but on Monday through Friday as well. Which son are you now? Which son will you decide to be tomorrow? Change is always possible!
Father James explains this Sunday's Gospel passage in a very practical way, providing concrete steps on how we can overcome evil and live a life with Jesus, filled with peace and joy.
Through his own experience of the loss of a dear friend, Father James explores the meaning of this Sunday's Gospel passage. The disciples of Emmaus grieve the loss of Jesus only to find him alive and risen from the dead.
If we were to give a title to this Sunday's Gospel passage we could call it: Man's Search for God and God's Search for Man. Father James delivers a powerful homily about the beautiful encounter between Jesus and the Samaritan woman.

About the 4th Sunday after Epiphany: In this Sunday's Gospel from the lectionary we have another incidence of Jesus performing miracles, but here it is specifically His healing and demon-casting miracles that are highlighted. We consider what it means for Jesus to be not only the healer of the body, but also his divinity that has made the body and sustains it.

This week our co-hosts start off by talking about the previous Sunday's Gospel. They also talked about Advent, and how Advent is a time for preparing the way for the birth of the Lord. Finally they discussed prioritizing and time management as we head into the Advent season.
In this week's episode, our co-hosts, joined by guest Juliana C, discussed the recent news story of the "angel priest". They also discussed some of Pope Francis' recent messages. In addition, they talked about change, and how we must embrace change and have faith that it is God leading us to something great. They listened to "Drops of Jupiter" by Train and discussed how even if we leave God, He will never leave us. They also discussed the past Sunday's Gospel, (short version) Luke 12:35-40, and how we must always be ready.
