The term 'pursuing your passion' is used very often and is very loosely bandied about. We should realise, that for most creative folks, the term should be 'passions' (plural), and not 'passion' . This is because creative people usually have multiple things that they really enjoy, and in some cases, they don't necessarily want to turn it into a career. In some cases, they do want to turn it into a career. But some find a crossover. They're called 'professional fans'.This week, on this Crossover episode, host Varun Duggirala talks to Tejas Menon, musician and host of The Geek Fruit Podcast, to talk about creating content around content. They also discuss Tejas' journey as a professional fan and a creator, talk about how he focusses on his multiple passions, and how he's built Geek Fruit with his co-hosts Jishnu and Dinkar. Also, find out why Tejas and Varun think pop-culture is so important to all of us.Talk to Varun Duggirala on Twitter and Instagram @varunduggiYou can follow Tejas Menon on Instagram @tejasmenon1989 & Twitter @tejasmenon.You can also follow Tejas' The Geek Fruit Podcast on Instagram ans Twitter @geekfruithqYou can listen to this show and other awesome shows on the IVM Podcasts app on Android: https://ivm.today/android or iOS: https://ivm.today/ios, or any other podcast app.

Rigid curfews in college hostels continue to be a bane for a lot of students. From enforcing a strict dress code to switching off lights at 10:00 pm to not going out of the hostel after 7:30 pm, hostel students suffer a lot. Indian colleges and their hostel rules are so intolerable that they make students rebel. Female students, in particular, have to adhere to more regressive rules set by the college department. On the last episode of ATKT Talent Tent, hosts P-Man and Krupa are joined by singer-songwriter, Karshni Nair. Together they talk about making music in college and how she got into the Kadak Apple Records. In the second half, they are joined by Tejas Menon, musician and host of the Geek Fruit Podcast and they talk absurd college hostel deadlines in Mumbai and across India. Tune in to listen to all this and for a breathtaking musical performance by Karshni who sings her original compositions 'Nervous System' & 'Straight Girls and Generic Musicians' on this episode. This week's headliner is guitar virtuoso/producer/composer Warren Mendonsa aka Blackstratblues, who picked up a guitar at the age of 5 and currently has 3 rock-bluesy albums under his belt (majority of which are instrumental). He's been in bands such as Zero, Alien Chutney, Helga's Fun Castle, and performed with the likes of Karsh Kale, Ankur & The Ghalat Family, Tejas Menon and more. In this episode we try to understand what inspires Warren's music, his years in Auckland before he came back to India, his most recent record - The Universe Has A Strange Sense of Humour, using chaddies as a pop-filter, and refrigerating a overheated computer while producing an album. We also have Warren interrupting his own performances in the studio to explain his songs.
