Christopher Cross and Dylan Schwan are back after a bit of a hiatus. Ironically, Chris got sick after watching A Cure for Wellness, so we had to postpone discussions on that. The big review this week is Get Out, though. Chris and Dylan discuss Jordan Peele's directorial debut, which tackles racism head-on with a biting satire that is equal parts comedy and horror. But don't worry, we do discuss A Cure for Wellness in detail including some spoiler-discussion because that movie warrants it greatly. Chris also saw XX, a new horror anthology with shorts directed exclusively by women. Then Dylan discusses The Eyes of my Mother, a short horror film done by Nicolas Pesce. He also saw the Grand Jury prize winner from Sundance, I Don't Feel At Home In This World Anymore, from frequent Jeremy Saulnier-collaborator, Macon Blair. So in terms of movies, we have you covered, but if you want to talk about the Academy Awards, we also do that. How about that finale to the night? We discuss the pros and cons of the Best Picture happening the way it did, as well as the overall night. There's also some Blu-rays to discuss, including the Oscar-winning Moonlight and a long-awaited Criterion release of The Before Trilogy. Next week, we'll be reviewing Logan, which we are both eagerly anticipating. Film Fallout is a weekly podcast about film and television. Every week, Christopher Cross and Dylan Schwan discuss news happening in the industry, blu-ray releases coming out this week, what they’ve been watching, and then a review of one movie. You can listen to it on SoundCloud, iTunes, or on BagoGames. Also follow us on Instagram for some behind-the-scenes magic. We are both on Twitter, if you’d like to follow us there. There's a first-person action movie out there, and Chris and Dylan are here to tell you whether it is worth the potential nausea. Hardcore Henry introduces the world to an entire film of first-person running and shooting. Should it have been in first-person? Was the action worth the costs? How does the film stand up in a D-Box screening? All these questions and more are answered in this week's podcast. But before that, we talk about Rogue One: A Star Wars Story's teaser trailer, who will be starring in Thor: Ragnarok, and how awesome it is that Charlize Theron is coming to Fast 8. There isn't much for blu-ray releases, but we do have a Criterion release. Want to listen to two people complain about how boring a movie about robots killing people is? Well, Chris and Dylan burn through a review of Terminator Genisys as quickly as possible so they can get to the stuff they really want to talk about. Dylan talks about the new Michael Fassbender western, Slow West, which is available now on Blu-ray, and later talks about penises in The Overnight. Meanwhile, Chris talks about Mark Duplass being weird in Creep, the latest found footage horror film from Blumhouse Productions. Then Dylan and Chris explore what makes Magic Mike XXL so much fun. But really, you're all here for the showstopper, which is our take on Max - think American Sniper meets The Guest meets reverse-John Wick. We also spoil some stuff because no one is going to see it, but there's fair warning. So many movies! Chris and Dylan switch things up by opening with their review of Ted 2, and talk in great detail about the ways to review a comedy film that is extremely funny but in detriment to its pacing and plot. It's a light New Release week so we spend more time talking about what we've been watching. Chris explains why The Mist is basically just The Thing, and why Ballers could end up being more than just a "sports Entourage". Then Dylan and Chris break down the first episode of Season 2 of True Detective and how it differs from the first season in more ways than one. I used to want to be an astronaut, but even astronauts don't go to the moon anymore. Next week we get to sit down and talk about Terminator: Genisys. Show Notes: (22:46) Ted 2 Spoilers (36:22) New Releases (39:05) Chris watched The Mist and (44:15) Ballers Premiere (48:01) True Detective Season 2 Premiere (64:56) Closing Comments You can read more written content at www.infiniterespawns.com.
Cooper tells the crew about the breakup he and Marilyn went through with a unicorn friend of theirs, their struggle with it, and how they've applied their feelings about polyamory and non-monogamy to the situation. The crew uses this as a jumping off point to discuss breakups in general in non-monogamy and how they differ from monogamous breakups. Then Dylan finally discusses his bisexual leanings
