This week, Xbox unveiled MUSE, a generative AI model aimed at boosting creativity and possibilities for gameplay. Published in the journal Nature as well as announced by Microsoft Research, the Xbox team shared findings alongside Ninja Theory on what this new AI model that was trained on Bleeding Edge could accomplish. In the extensive write-ups, we learn about the principles of this AI model, what Xbox's mandate is for it across their first party studios, and even get teased a bit on what it could mean for backwards compatibility. DC and Darius give us their first impressions of Ninja Theory's Hell Blade 2. The graphics are phenomenal as expected but for the most part, the rest of the game falls short. From the combat to enemy encounters nothing stood out to DC. As beautiful as the combat movement is, the two-button system can become boring after a few encounters. It's a decent game but not necessarily what Xbox needs. Released in 2017, the video game Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice saw players take control of dark-age warrior Senua as she battled to rescue the soul of her dead lover from the Norse underworld. Austin reviews Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2. Xbox had a lot riding on Ninja Theory deliving a banger with this game but unfortunately it doesn't live up to the  first one aside from a mega graphics upgrade. Brett also dives into xDefiant, the new shooter from Ubisoft featuring characters from all their major franchises such as Watch Dogs, The Division, Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell and Far Cry. We also review Content Warning. A game developed by a few people and costing under 8 dollars, this game provides hours of fun with friends. Record something scary, record it and go viral. That's the pitch but unfortunately it rarely ever goes your way!We also talk about the reveal of Assassin's Creed Shadows. No gameplay yet but this game is set in feudal Japan where you can play either a female Ninja or a male Samurai. We're not sure how this mixture of characters will play into the Assassin's Creed lens, but we're waiting to see gameplay. We also look at the leaked footage of Deadlock from Valve. It's a hero shooter that mixes MOBA mechanics with a third person shooter game. A nightmare year for Xbox continues. The latest chapter in this story is Xbox's shuttering of four Bethesda studios in Tango Gameworks, Arkane Austin, Roundhouse Studios, and Alpha Dog Games. The message is clear that the experimenting days of Xbox are done as the strategy deployed by its leaders continues to fail. The focus is Call Of Duty, Fallout, DOOM, and other high profile titles while the future of surrounding creative studios like Obsidian, Compulsion, Ninja Theory, and others have uncertainty beginning to cloud them.
