We here at the podcast are big fans of the video game publisher Electronic Arts. We loved their decision to include loot boxes in many of their titles, including Mass Effect: Andromeda, FIFA and Star Wars: Battlefront II. We believe the original ending of Mass Effect 3 was masterful storytelling. Finally it was smart for EA to close legendary studios like Westwood, Visceral, and Bullfrog. Electronic Arts can do no wrong in our eyes (EA please leave the cartoonishly large bags of money with the $ symbol on the outside at our previously agreed location). X-Men 97 is robbing us all of the cake, well, maybe, at least that is what the trailer is telling us. Marvel is also looking to dump Kang and his council, while DC is not printing money and is avoiding a Batman Beyond movie. How the could fumble the bag that much is beyond me. Also XBOX clarifies its future, and dumped water all of the nonsense fires that were burning on twitter. Nintendo dropped a direct, and with it the return of one of the best Star Wars games :Star Wars Battlefront II from 2005! That and more come take a listen.

Ok, I'll give a little bit of explanation on this thumbnail because I'm insecure in my choice and feel the need to justify it to you. I thought I'd do a silly image of the Rebels from Star Wars Battlefront II but not the the new one, the old one. I couldn't find any good ones though so I settled for this picture from the new Star Wars Battle Front II which really should be Battlefront IV but here we are. The reason I wanted to show the rebel characters in Star Wars Battlefront II (the old one) is because they're kind of a**holes in the game and we're kinda crapping on the trope of Rebel = Good Guy so I thought I'd throw those guys under the bus, but now I'm just rambling. (00:00) Banter (13:20) Introduction (14:13) Topic
Nathan plays as Iden Versio who is the dark side's main protagonist for the campaign. Can he escape the rebels or will his Stun Droid do all the work? Find out in today's episode.

Wow! This episode takes a left turn that seems to split the fanbase. That is, what's left of The Mandalorian fanbase. If memory serves, Ryan Eary at Screen Crush mentions that half the fans seemed to have abandoned the series, which is unfortunate. This season, instead relying on crossing over characters from other series (Bo Katan) or blatant fan service (Luke Skywalker), the creators are taking a huge risk. Rather, they are beginning to treat the Star Wars franchise similar to the Marvel franchise. Instead of creating each series in a vacuum, they're are zooming out at the galaxy map, and finding out where and when these characters could cross paths along the timeline. Like Marvel Comic heroes, they know each character has their own respective villains, friends, teachers, and all manner acquaintances. These characters also exist in our world. With cities like New York and San Francisco. Many believe part of the reason the Marvel franchise is so successful is due to how it's characters are based in real places. This is in stark contrast to the DC franchise who's characters exist in fictional places based on real world cities of New York (Metropolis) and Chicago (Gotham). Star Wars has no shortage of Expanded Universe characters and storylines to use as a canvas for a television show. I admit my wrong doing when approaching The Mandalorian season three. I was disillusioned by seasons one and two of Mandalorian. I felt there were too many episodes that did not add to the story and were simply filler. This is why I did not even bother to watch The Book of Boba Fett. I had wanted a Boba Fett show the whole time. Instead we got a show with a guy who looked and acted like Boba Fett. But wait! For two seasons we were leaving bread crumbs and subtle hints Boba Fett was there the whole time. In my opinion, the juice was not worth the squeeze. Of course AJ and my brother violently disagree. Fine. Let them. Chapter 19 starts off with a impressive dogfight between Bo Katan's Kom'rk-Class Fighter/transport "The Gauntlet," Din Djarin's modified "N1" Noobian starfighter and some Tie Bombers and Tie Interceptors. After which, the story makes huge departure and instead follow up with a character from season one. Dr. Penn Pershing. Member him? If not for his stupid glasses I wouldn't either. The whole story involves cloning technology he was working on. Tech which was ordered to be destroyed by the New Republic. Instead, we see Pershing attempting to re-integrate into a society free from the tyranny of the Galactic Empire. However, as a scientist, he cannot bare to see his life's work lost despite the good it might yield. Here my brother Mike actually makes himself useful. We ask the question, what happened to the Kaminoans and their cloning facilities. According to Star Wars Battlefront II, the CIS has launched an attack on Kamino in an attempt to destroy the Republic's clone producing facilities. According to the Wookiepedia, this first attack would take place only two months after the Battle of Geonosis. Only in the series The Bad Batch, do we see the cloning facilities on Kamino utterly destroyed by order of Moff Tarkin. Dr. Pershing and his new friend Elia Kane, sneak aboard a decommissioned Star Destroyer to steal lab supplies needed in order to continue research into cloning. It's here we find out that Elia betrayed Dr. Pershing and stole his technology. Only time will tell what she and the alliance plan to do with it. Overall, a great episode in my opinion. Why? It took risks. It dared to do something different. Even if the storyline is a thinly veiled attempt to retcon Rise of Skywalker's Clone Emperor plot holes. Thanks for listening and watching. -Luca #Mandalorian #episode3 Tweet us @SWRewatchPod on Twitter Subscribe to us on YouTube Subscribe on Apple Podcasts Subscribe on Spotify Email us at StarWarsRewatchPodcast@gmail.com

Season 1 of the Canon Cantina was focused on exploring the journey of Luke Skywalker through both Canon and Legends materials. We sought to explore the question "who IS Luke Skywalker?" by comparing the two different storylines in the time leading up to Episode IX. Now that the Skywalker Saga is complete, we have expanded the scope of the show beyond Luke Skywalker. Everything after our Force Awakens-style soft reboot can be found in Season 2. Cheers, and may the Force be with you! ___________________________________ We take a look at the story mode for Battlefront II, specifically the parts that give us an indication of what Luke is up to between the Battle of Endor and the Battle of Jakku. We also touch on some exciting gaming news - Jedi Outcast is back, and Legion has new units! __________________________________________ Join Star Wars fanatics, Mike and Jesse each episode as we breakdown the character & development of Luke Skywalker throughout both Legends and the Disney canon. We'll do our best to connect the dots of Luke's adventures through Legends/the old Expanded Universe to find out how he differs from the current canon hero, and debate which version would make The Last Jedi better. This week's guest is an especially special one: Walt Williams, co-writer of Star Wars Battlefront II, lead writer of Spec Ops: The Line, and author of games-industry memoir Significant Zero (out Sept. 19!). Inspired by Walt's stories of youthful thievery, we focus this week's Top 5 on thieves who decided to work together and became like family in the process. (Fair warning, it takes us about an hour and 17 minutes to get there.) Then we get real chatty about Metroid: Samus Returns, new iPhones, SNES Classic reassurances, and your most memorable game-launch stories.
Our own Gillen McAllister from PlayStation.Blog EU speaks to one of the minds behind Star Wars Battlefront II and the recently detailed Starfighter Assault mode.
