As we near National Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic and the celebration of our 40th anniversary, we're turning the spotlight on Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever chapter volunteers, the true lifeblood of our organization's habitat mission. In this episode, host Bob St.Pierre is joined by Will Clayton, the organization's senior regional representative to introduce “The Year of the Volunteer” concept. To bring life to the celebration of volunteers, we've got four dynamic chapter officers lined up to talk about their motivations for volunteering. Those chapter volunteers include Austin Roby in Ohio, Cayla Bendel from North Dakota, Clay Denny out of Missouri, and Mike Coyle of Kentucky. Episode Highlights: • Each individual volunteer talks about their motivations for getting involved with a local Pheasants Forever or Quail Forever chapter and how those expectations resulted in friendships, on-the-ground habitat results, fun times, and cherished memories. • Coyle highlights the importance of the organization's unique, locally empowering model in which chapters retain 100% local control of the funds they generate through their efforts. • St.Pierre closes it out with an interesting anecdote about being contacted for use of the PF or QF logos in tattoos and casket engravings as evidence of how important the organization becomes to people's identities. The thrilling conclusion! Will Clayton have to answer for his cryptic challenge to Seattle in the prior ep? What films make the cut to be "best of the best" for the prior year?? It's all here if you just listen. Promise.
In the "wise" words of Shanae, this has gone on way too far. Lisa and Susan agree! The Shanae drama has gone on way too long and she has taken it way too far for our "comfortability". Thanks to Sarah for the vocab lesson! Sadly, we were robbed of our 2:1 that was promised from the previews, but it was a nice break and opportunity to breathe. Tune in to hear the latest Bachelor Nation headlines and a full recap of the episode. Continuing on his international love journey, Clayton enjoys two 1-on-1 dates (Pleasure Pier anyone?) and a hilarious group date alongside a super famous comedian we've never heard of. Additionally, ABC shows us previews of this week's episode with scenes that never air and a contestant with a rose we never saw her receive. What in the name of Celine Dion is going on?? Sadly, the drama doesn't end once they leave the country for Toronto. It's no surprise that every Canadian date includes some form of hockey and maple syrup but who knew Meryl Streep gets involved? Will Clayton heed Sierra's advice to “Not Be Stupid” or will he prove himself dumber than ever?
Look's like there are more snakes than just the one around Hunter's neck. Will Clayton redeem himself with a rose retraction? --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Social Media Edge Radio In mid-summer Ken Cook decided to share with his Twitter friends some of the tips and techniques he was learning by using the service. He would review news and technical releases and try new tools then talk about them on a podcast. Those first shows were a true "podcast" recorded in his office then uploaded to a server and he invited others to listen. Back on August 18th 2009 Ken learned about Blog Talk Radio and decided to give it a try. Those first few painful shows were fifteen minutes long and called Twitter Tuesday. They were broadcast live from Noon to 12:15 on Tuesdays usually to an empty chat room and a live audience of 3 or 4 listeners. In December that year Jason Crouch joined as co-host of Social Media Edge Radio and the audience continued to grow. Mike Mueller joined in late winter of 2010 and Jeremy Blanton joined in Spring of 2010. We've had many, many wonderful guests and you can see them all at http://socialmediaedge.com/past-guests/ thanks to Mike Mueller's diligent efforts in keeping the Wall of Fame up to date. A BIG THANKS to everyone who has ever listened or sponsored the show - you are why we are still growing!
