And to celebrate we are doing a fun little giveaway. So listen to this weeks episode find the secret word in this episode and text that secret word to: (708) 672- 2628 Now let's dive right into todays episode. On today's episode I discuss the most common misperception in the weight loss community, which is are you not losing weight because you are over eating, or under eating? A majority of the people will say that a person who is overweight is because they are over eating, and in MY professional opinion after coaching 100's of women it's actually the opposite. I find that most of my clients are severally under eating. So we must have the discussion of Do You Need To EAT MORE To Lose Weight? And more than likely the answer will be a big fat YES! So I discuss in this episode ways you can find out if you're under eating, tips on how to start eating more to lose weight, and why this logic of being over weight = over eating and how that is mostly never the case. I talk about how we use these teachings and principals inside the Sane & Sustainable Method Program, and I also drop the bomb about how we are opening the Fall 2021 Sane & Sustainable Method Program enrollment! In this episode Kathie talked about: How I really don't lean towards Body Positivity or Diet Culture. I'm kind of fell somewhere in the middle. So take a listen on how you can do both in a healthy way that promotes self love but also encourages self change if that is your goal. Does it ever feel like sometimes you put so much pressure on yourself to achieve your big goals in a certain time from what you give yourself. It's okay to extend your time from your goals. It is okay to take a step back and really take in your surroundings and think about how you can achieve your big goal without putting so much pressure on yourself. It is unnecessary and not going to help in the long run. Sometimes it is necessary to Slow Down To Speed Up. Think tortoise and hare... So take a listen, do some self evaluation of your own goals, and tag me on instagram (@Anderkat30) and let me know how you plan on reevaluating your big goals. Struggling to lose weight? Think you're on a plateau with your weight loss journey? Kathie starts by addressing a topic she gets hate on the internet about quite often. She explains that she doesn't just offer a weight loss program, she helps people change their relationship with food. She actually won't allow people to sign-in to her program if they just want to lose weight immediately because she can’t guarantee to serve or help you if that’s your mindset. She’s more focused on changing your body and lifestyle along the way and has a good discipline to your body. The podcast also teaches the listeners to make their own rule book by self-discipline to achieve their body shape goals in a healthy way. Three important takeaways from this episode is changing your brain, not your food, be brave enough to dream bigger, and eat the damn donut!
In Kathie's episode this week, she shares a really powerful message about how you've been killing your own motivation. Through helping change her clients lives and mindsets, she found that a reward system is so effective for a healthy weight-loss journey, or really any goal! Instead of rewarding ourselves once we hit a certain number on the scale, or certain measurable outcome, she encourages the listeners to reward to be consistently rewarding on yourself regardless of the outcome. It can be a point system. Every time you take an action you earn a point so then you can continuously put those actions in place. Reward yourself based on showing up, putting in the effort, putting in the work, and doing the things. This is great whether it’s expanding a business, a weight-loss goal, another personal goal. Celebrate yourself along the way. Don’t wait for outside factors to tell you, you are worth celebrating. This type of reward system helps you enjoy the process, you deserve a pat on the back every step of the way just because you’re showing up and doing the things regardless of the outcome. A lot of people who pat themselves on the back get the results and even faster because they’re not constantly being discouraged by waiting for an outcome to feel good. They’re teaching themselves to feel good every step of the way all along the way. If you focus on results, you may end up doing it the wrong way just to get to it. Don’t teach yourself backward principles.
This week, Kathie touches on how we look at our goals and vision in life. When it comes to your goals, do you really want it or have you decided that it is already yours? There is a big difference between the two and she wants us to understand the key is to decide with a loose grip. Kathie mentioned that she used to have some clients that are forcing their bodies to do something rather than get aligned and tuned with their body. She recently introduced an exercise called "couples therapy with your body". It is about sitting down and having a conversation with your body and asking what it needs, what it feels, etc. The thing is when we get too stuck on the numbers or macros, that can take away the feeling of listening to your body. Our body has the capability of sending signals to the brain asking it to eat something it's missing - vitamins, minerals, protein, etc., but because your brain is too focused on the macros as you've trained it through the years, you are losing the chance of maintaining a well-balanced diet. In the Sane and Sustainable Method which is one of Kathie's coaching programs, she teaches about learning the numbers, guidelines, macros, and using them to get in tune with your body. Ultimately, her goal is for us learn how to make educated, informed, and empowered decisions around food. When you're speaking to yourself and you are claiming something, that means you're going to take action because your brain is ALWAYS going to look for evidence. **All 15 spots for Kathie's signature program, The Sane & Sustainable Method SOLD OUT, an entire week early. But she didn't want you to miss out on the opportunity to apply, so she has opened 5 bonus spots.** Click the link to learn more about the program and to submit your application. This week, Kathie had a conversation with Kayla Ybanez who is an Instagram and business strategist. They simply talked about a lot of things unplanned and somehow started on the talks of how social media helped both of them make friends, real friendships. Kathie didn't have any intention to use social sites before until she posted some content like Yoga challenges and everybody liked it. On the flip side, Kayla has been using social media since 2004 where the AOL and Yahoo chat rooms were everywhere, a virtual way to socialize. Around this time is the rise of emo and goth photos wherein Kathie mentioned that she was identified as goth although she isn't. Kayla also shared her memories with Myspace where she called herself the "Queen of the Duck Face Selfie" and made some fan sites, became friends with a few Disney stars, and where she met her husband that time. Nowadays, using social media is close to being a necessity. Find out what happened to the rest of their conversation by tuning in to this episode. It was an hour full of random but meaningful stuff! "The hardest prison to escape is your mind." The brain is the biggest wrestling match you'll ever witness. This includes your thoughts, important decisions, what to do first on your to-do list, what to buy, who to call..... and even what to eat. In this episode Kathie helps us understand the constant struggle in our minds about what to to eat daily and how some of us are imprisoned and exhausted by the fight daily. While frustration about weight and self control are big enough for most of us to chase change, one of the things most people don't acknowledge is feeling alone in their struggles and ending unwanted habits. This episode may be critical to understanding someone close to you in your life and what they may be going through.
Does anyone else suffer from being an empath? If so, consider yourself in luck. While many claim having empathy to be a gift and a curse, having empathy as an online coach could be very beneficial to your clients. You jump right in feeling exactly what they feel and this makes you invested in their growth. However, holding a space for strangers and what they're dealing with can have a heavy impact on your thoughts and feelings. The things you choose to consume matter just as much as the things we say to ourselves. No one talks more junk to us then ourselves. So you can spend more time than you'd like in a "funk"if you're not careful. Join this episode where Kathie explains exactly why you might feel like your in a funk right now and how to make sure this doesn't become a habit.
This episode is one we all need to hear. There are an unlimited amount of apps now and workout programs anyone of us can invest in to have the perfectly mapped out at home workout. All of these are readily available so that the average busy human doesn't have an excuse not to get the perfect workout in when working with limited time or resources. Except there is one thing that no one often addresses, you can have all the right tools but simply have no motivation. The thing about workout classes and the gym is there is a level of energy, excitement, vibes, and competitiveness, that make most of us get really committed while there. In this episode, Kathie and Chris address how to get and stay committed to home workouts when you really just don't want too. When the set up of an at home workout or even the idea of it sounds like a drag and you'd rather just have another "free day," this episode helps us all find ways to competitive and stay motivated now without a workout partner!
If we could receive a dime for every time someone told us to journal I am sure we'd all be wealthy by now. Journaling seems to be a hot topic these days and the solution to every ones problems. However, you may be the one of many that don't seem to see the benefit of journaling or have tried and don't see much success in writing down your thoughts. In this episode, Kathie admits she once disliked journaling too. There are so many types of journals, scientific evidence about the benefits of journaling, the concept of brain dumping, using journal prompts, and other ways anyone can use the power of journaling to really grow personally. If we could just make more money, loose more weight, have more time we would be able to accomplish our goals and then and only then be happy, right? Wrong. What if you could train your brain to start enjoying the feeling your chasing from a win but feel it right now, while you're in the process? For most of us, it's all about what were chasing, that one goal that is at the center of your need for achievement. In this episode, Kathie and the resident roommate, Chris, discuss how you can begin living life on your terms now. They uncover why you don't need to achieve that one "thing" to receive what were all really after, which is true happiness.
