I visited twice: first, to see my good friend Mike Saleeby shortly after college, and many years later to visit another friend, Richard Grassi. This particular story focuses on my visit to Mike Saleeby right after college. The accompanying image shows me teaching one of his Japanese classes, demonstrating a paper-folding technique that was unfamiliar in Japan and that I learned from my mother.
