It's Tuesday, May 5th, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson and Timothy Reed Kenyan Somalis killed 7 Kenyan Christian farmers On April 25th, International Christian Concern reports that Muslim Somali herders killed seven Christian farmers in Kitui County, Kenya in a raid. The raiders left behind burned homes, scattered belongings, and families struggling to come to terms with the loss. Local church leaders said many of the affected families are now dealing with loss on multiple levels, including loved ones, homes, and livelihoods.  Remember Jesus's words in Revelation 2:10.  He said, “Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.” War with Iran has cost America $70 billion The cost of war in Iran continues to rise. The Trump administration announced that the war has cost $25 billion, but that does not include the cost to rebuild destroyed military bases in the Middle East. The Iran War Cost Tracker has the cost of the war pegged at more than $70 billion. That is more than $1 billion dollars a day.  Trump removed 300,000 illegals from Social Security rolls The Trump administration is working to reform Social Security by removing illegal aliens off the rolls. Listen to President Trump's latest comments on his protection of Social Security.  TRUMP: “Together with the Republicans in Congress, we've removed nearly 300,000 illegal aliens from the Social Security roles. (applause and cheers) And we've removed more than 100,000 migrants from Medicare eligibility: 100,000 and the number is going up. “What we're really doing is saving Social Security because it was so rife with fraud.” Supreme Court rules against race-based Congressional districts In a blockbuster decision, the Supreme Court ruled 6-3 against apportioning congressional districts by race, effectively neutering a portion of the federal Voting Rights Act of 1965.  Following the decision, a flurry of Republican states, including Louisiana, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida began working towards redistricting in favor of Republicans.  However, Democrats are planning their own redistricting efforts, as both parties remain deadlocked in midterm election jockeying.  Supreme Court temporarily allows mail-order abortion drugs In other Supreme Court headlines, it issued an administrative stay on Monday of a lower court ruling, which would have put a stop to the mail order program for the Abortion Kill Pill.   The administrative order will hold for a week, while the court gives the Food and Drug Administration opportunity to respond.  U.S. public school enrollment is down Public school enrollment is down in the United States — a 900,000-person drop over the last decade.   During the same period, Edunomics Lab reports that staffing has actually increased by about the same amount -- 700,000 people or about 12%, ironically. The government school monopoly spends $1 trillion per year on their program, averaging $17,000 per student.  Per student costs, adjusted for inflation, have doubled since 1980. $17,000 cost-per-public schooler vs. $1,600 per homeschooler The Homeschool Legal Defense Association surveyed 4,000 homeschool families and found the per-child costs for homeschooling an elementary school student runs around $1,300, and $1,600 for a middle and high school student. That means a family with five children saves the state $85,000 per year in education costs, and then, spends $7,000 of their own money doing it. America's property tax revolt There is somewhat of a property tax revolt going on across the country.  Florida lawmakers are proposing an end to local government property tax. Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott has suggested something similar. And the states of Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, and Wyoming have other initiatives in process to reform property tax in favor of the taxpayers. 1 Samuel 8 speaks of this tyranny: “[Samuel] said, ‘This will be the behavior of the king who will reign over you: He will take your sons. … He will take your daughters. … He will take a tenth of your grain and your vintage. … And you will cry out in that day because of your king whom you have chosen for yourselves, and the Lord will not hear you in that day.” Gas prices have doubled since February U.S. gas prices have almost doubled since late February. Now the average price sits at $4.46 per gallon, up from $2.84 a gallon just two months ago. Idaho requires teachers/doctors to tell parents if child has gender issues The state of Idaho passed a bill that requires teachers and doctors to tell parents if their child is experiencing gender dysphoria. The law, signed by Republican Governor Brad Little, seeks to combat ways in which a child may secretly appear to be the other sex without parental approval.  Republican State Senator Ben Toews stated, “A loophole was left in the [previous] law, and it did not mention social transitions, the process by which vulnerable children are led into the pipeline.” Violations of the new law could lead to steep fines and potential loss of professional licenses. Barbie Director to direct Netflix Narnia film Greta Gerwig is directing the next Narnia film, The Magician's Nephew, to be produced by Netflix, which is expected to be released on February 12, 2027.  Gerwig is best known for her director role in the feminist film “Barbie.”  The first three Narnia movies yielded a worldwide box office total of $1.8 billion. Texas waterpark celebrates Islamic festival by restricting park to Muslims There's a $90 million taxpayer-funded waterpark in Grand Prairie, Texas called Epic Waters which is now celebrating the Islamic holiday of  Eid-al-Adha, the feast of sacrifice and the second of two main festivals in Islam.  It honors the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God's command.  The Epic Waters park will be restricting the park to Muslims, allowing only Halal food to be sold, and requiring head-to-toe Muslim dress for all swimmers. 90-year-old pro-lifer calls for end to F.A.C.E. Act And finally, Eva Edl, a 90-year-old woman who was placed in a Soviet death camp at a young age, is urging Congress to repeal the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances, or F.A.C.E. Act, after she was convicted and put in prison under the Biden administration.  Pro-abortion advocates have used the F.A.C.E. Act to jail and silence pro-lifers. Listen to her recent testimony.  EDL: “Pro-lifers who continue to put their bodies between the abortionist and innocent victims today will continue to be targeted by this unjust law until it is repealed. And yet, despite knowing this, when the Lord asks you to do something, you just simply do it, no matter the cost. After all, He gave His life to save us.” John 15:13 reminds us, “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends.”  Close And that's The Worldview on this Tuesday, May 5th, in the year of our Lord 2026. Follow us on X or subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music, or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com.  Plus, you can get the Generations app through Google Play or The App Store. What's up, fraud fighters, and welcome back to Fraud Forward! Before I was sitting in fraud strategy conversations, before I was talking about controls, governance, and layered defenses, before any of this, I was on the teller line. Face-to-face with members. Balancing speed, service, and that gut feeling when something just didn't sit right. And I'm telling you right now, that experience shaped everything I understand about teller fraud prevention today.Because here's the reality we don't talk about enough. We're building smarter systems. We're investing in AI. We're moving toward real-time monitoring and faster payments. And fraud is still scaling right alongside it. The latest IC3 report made that very clear. The numbers are growing. The losses are growing. And if we're being honest, part of the problem is that we're underestimating one of the most powerful fraud prevention tools we already have, our frontline. This episode is about resetting that perspective. It's about recognizing that fraud isn't just happening in data. It's happening in behavior. In hesitation. In subtle shifts that no system can fully capture yet. And that is exactly where teller fraud prevention becomes critical. Here is what that frontline-first fraud prevention mindset means in practice:· Recognizing that behavioral signals are often the earliest fraud indicators· Treating frontline staff as active participants in fraud risk management· Bridging the gap between transaction data and real-world interaction· Building fraud prevention strategy around human insight, not just automationWhat you'll hear in this episode:· Why teller fraud prevention is one of the most underutilized controls in banking· How frontline fraud detection captures signals that systems miss· A real-world scenario showing how behavioral fraud detection plays out· Why fraud prevention in banking must include human interaction layers· How financial institution fraud controls fail without frontline inputYou should listen to this episode if you:· Work in fraud risk management and want stronger frontline fraud detection· Are building a fraud prevention strategy in banking and need better alignment· Oversee teller teams or call centers and want to improve fraud awareness· Have seen fraud slip through despite strong systems and controls· Want to understand how human fraud detection signals impact real outcomesIf you liked this episode, be sure to subscribe and review the podcast on iTunes, Spotify, YouTube, or wherever you listen to podcasts. Congress is back from spring break this week and the U.S. Senate is expected to debate the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act or SAVE Act. The legislation, which already passed the U.S. House, would set new federal standards for voting, including a new requirement that voters have "documentary proof of citizenship" in order to vote. The bill also requires states to hand over voter data to the Department of Homeland Security. Democrats are firmly opposed. This SAVE Act is just the latest effort by President Trump to assert more control over elections, as he continuously claims falsely that the 2020 election was stolen from him.Joining Minnesota Now to explain the bill and where it stands is University of Minnesota political scientist Larry Jacobs.

Peraton has emerged as the winner to overhaul the air traffic control system, securing a contract to oversee the multi-billion dollar project with the Federal Aviation Administration. In an announcement Thursday night, the FAA said the Virginia-based technology firm will be the integrator for the project. Initial funding includes a $12.8 billion infusion from Congress as part of the One Big Beautiful Bill earlier this year, but the agency is eyeing billions more to complete the project. FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford said an additional $20 billion will be needed to finish the modernization effort. Bedford said in a statement included in the release: “This is a long-term investment in the future of air travel, and we're committed to getting it right.”. According to the agency, Peraton had capabilities that matched the needs of the project, including “integrating complex tech platforms and successful collaboration with federal government agencies.” The project is planned to take just three years. The FAA's search for an integrator for the modernization effort began earlier this year and came amid concerns over its aging air traffic control systems. The issues with the existing infrastructure range from IT outages that cause travel delays to the continued use of antiquated technology, such as floppy disks. In a public appearance in September, Bedford said the current system is “failing every day.” The Education Department informed numerous Office of Civil Rights employees Friday that they are expected to return to work later this month while they await a court ruling on reduction-in-force orders that sidelined them nearly eight months ago. Multiple workers in Education's OCR told FedScoop they received notices from the agency late Friday afternoon. Those notices stated that they are expected to return in person to their assigned-duty location on either Dec. 15 or 29. The notice, according to four copies obtained by FedScoop, said the following: “While RIF notices are tolled during litigation, it is important to refocus OCR's work and utilize all OCR staff to prioritize OCR's existing complaint caseload.” The notice stated: “In order for OCR to pursue its mission with all available resources, all those individuals currently being compensated by the Department need to meet their employee performance expectations and contribute to the enforcement of existing civil rights complaints.” The agency told workers this will boost enforcement activities in a way that “serves and benefits parents, students, and families.” Workers have until Monday to inform the agency if they do not plan on returning to their positions. After they complete initial entry training all soldiers are entitled to Basic Allowance for Subsistence (BAS) to help pay for food, but many of them have most of it deducted to pay for meals provided in dining facilities (DFACs). Recent investigative reporting by our guest, Steve Beynon, has revealed striking inconsistencies between how much money is taken from soldiers in the form of BAS deductions and how much money is spent on providing those soldiers with the meals they're entitled to. At many of the Army's largest installations more than half of those funds seem to be getting reallocated, and the Army can't even explain where. From "smoke pit conspiracy" to congressional inquiry, this is a problem that many soldiers have talked about for years, but is just now breaking into mainstream media coverage thanks to Steve's work. He joined us on the podcast to discuss what he's found, and we may have even identified more problems live on air...Steve Beynon is a reporter for Military.com based out of the Washington, D.C., area whose detailed investigations have covered urgent issues impacting soldiers. A veteran of the Afghanistan war with over a decade of experience as a cavalry scout, Steve leverages his firsthand military experience to deliver authoritative journalism. In 2023, Military Veterans in Journalism honored him as one of the top veterans in media for exposing a cult scheme that defrauded veterans of their benefits, one of the largest scams ever to target the military community. This accolade includes recipients from the New York Times and Associated Press. The cult's churches were eventually raided by the FBI. His byline has appeared in Politico, Stars and Stripes, Military Times, American Legion Magazine, National Guard Magazine, Fox 19, Cincinnati City Beat, and the Cincinnati Enquirer. He studied journalism and environmental policy at the University of Cincinnati on a GI Bill scholarship.Steve's original story breaking this news published last month in Military.com21 Senators and Members of Congress signed this letter to the Secretary of Defense demanding answers about this situationSteve published a follow up piece discussing the reaction from Congress and some of the feedback from inside the pentagonHere's the DoD's page about BASWe discussed the Army's budget estimates towards the end of the episode, the military personnel (MILPERS) portion of which can be found hereWe also referenced the DoD's Financial Management Regulation, and the subsistence portion is found in Volume 7A, Chapter 25We also referenced two GAO reports:The first was "DOD Should Formalize Its Process for Revising Food Ingredients and Better Track Dining Facility Use and Costs"The second was "Additional Actions Needed to Implement, Oversee, and Evaluate Nutrition Efforts for Service Members"The law that guides most of this is 37 USC 402And finally, the DoD's overarching guidance is found in DoD Directive 1418.05

Congress considered 158 bills that mention artificial intelligence over the past two years, according to a count by the Brennan Center for Justice. But zero comprehensive AI laws have been passed. There has been movement by states, however. In Tennessee, for example, the ELVIS Act, which protects voices and likenesses from unauthorized use by AI, became law in March. In Colorado, a law that takes effect in 2026 requires developers of high-risk AI systems to protect consumers from algorithm-based discrimination. But some who fund AI technology say a federal law is needed. That includes Matt Perault, head of AI policy at the venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz.
