Lady Tech Charmers

The Lady Tech Charmers (LTC) partnered with non-profit organization She Flew The Coop (SFTC) on a special edition podcast series called the "Inside Scoop to Flying the Coop". The goal She Flew the Coop and this special edition series is to help women "wake the flock up", get out of their comfort zone, and fly the coop of comfort to go after their dreams. Founder of SFTC Sarah Colon-Harris created a 12-step curriculum for the She Flew The Coop non-profit organization to help ambitious women get out of their own way to go after their goals and dreams. SFTC is serving women internationally, as well as serving corporations and universities to inspire people to live to their fullest potential. Sarah turns the tables on Lady Tech Charmers co-hosts Paula Okonneh, Dr. Sharon Jones, and Caitlin Sellers Castevens to uncover how they have flown the coop and gotten out of their comfort zones over the course of their lives and their careers.  This podcast series was recorded over the course of 2 years 2019-2021.

We were thrilled to be part of Podfest 2019 in Orlando! When we downloaded the Podfest app that lead us to think about the apps on our phones . We singled out our favorite apps and our not so fave ones. What are yours?

We were thrilled to be part of Podfest 2019 in Orlando! We met people like John Lee Dumas, Pat Flynn, Kate Erickson... It was an excellent learning experience. Some of the take aways were that Apple podcasts downloads account for nearly 80% of all downloads. We also learned about the 10x 10 x 10 method which encourages 10 minutes of brain dumping, 10 minutes of organizing and 10 minutes of refining the top 3 ideas.

This week we have the opportunity to chat with superstar, Sherrell Dorsey on her journey as a women in tech and how she has build an tech ecosystem that leverages talents from all disciplines. She brings knowledge, advice and passion!

The hosts on  the Lady Tech Charmers talk about the Internet Of Things or IOT,  Videos and Podcasting. We discussed - How by being connected through IOT, the connectivity drives data. Understanding that this data is part of that connectivity which can include video, how  that video plays, what platform you are connected to and how that platform in turn drives you to watch that video. The third piece there is the podcast that we actually are able to download through IOT on our smartphones,  our Fitbits , Alexa or Google Assistant all of which are accessible now through podcasts. All of those - smartphones, Fitbits , Alexa or Google Assistant  are part of the internet of things so we go right back to the data!

Odette Toppin is a veteran who has found her niche as women in engineering and tech. She has served in the banking industry, as an air traffic controller all over the world, and now as entrepreneur. Her story is truly inspirational and you will learn how she leveraged her computational skills to learn the tech needed for each of her roles and how technology is now at the forefront of your current business. 

This week we sit in awe of Memory Munetsi and her amazing journey from her home country to the US to pursue her dreams of education. She embodies all that makes us strong as women and has created an incredible career through grit, learning, and embracing technology! 

We continue our STEM education series with a chat with Laurie Carey as we explore more about how we can change the conversation around transforming education. Laurie explains how we can disrupt education to make systematic change and include technology as a tool and a creative path. 

On episode #52 we chatted with Amanda Childress about what is a magnet school and the mission behind magnet school options.
