We're back. Lots of voicemails, an explanation for our hiatus, and an intro to pool szn.
1:30 - 26:00 : Round table discussion live from Austin, TX
Masters Sunday, How To Ditch A Date, How Many Hinge Matches Is Too Many, & Game of Thrones As Told By Someone Who Doesn't Watch Game of Thrones.
We’re talking relationships and post grad problems. An old school classic ep with Mads and KB.
We interview notable author Ian Callahan and, otherwise known as his handler, Chad Mason on a cluster of topics including Ian’s favorite passtime: swindling random people into paying for his drinks. buy the book here: https://www.amazon.com/How-Get-Drunk-No-Money-ebook/dp/B07JZJWN2N/ref=nodl_
This ep. we’re talking finance. Listen to us take a voicemail and breakdown our opinions on credit scores and the like.
Do you sleep with a teddy bear? Do you have a nicotine dependency? If you said yes to either of the above questions, this episode is for you.
Alternate title: The New FBO, Acronyms, Nipple Piercings, Best Seat on A Plane, & College vs. Adult Life
Tune in to hear Mads and KB breakdown the rules about planning a vacation with a new partner. Want an excuse to waste away hours in the office? We chat about why TikTok is simultaneously incredible and the downfall of our generation. We also take a voicemail and promote our brand that is “do it for the content”.
It’s a special edition Presidents Day ep. of the pod and we’re talking NASCAR and day drinking on a Monday - the ultimate trash human activities. We give our hot takes and personal stories about introducing a boyfriend to the friend group. The wedding talk continues and we take a voicemail from a listener to discuss the do’s and dont’s of bachelor/bachelorette parties.
It's the szn of love and getting invited to weddings. We discuss all debatable topics including wedding attire, wedding dates, and our personal wedding preferences. We also compare our 5 love language results and analyze how it plays into our daily lives, upbringings, and current relationships. Take your quiz here: 5lovelanguages.com
It’s another unwell Sunday with your girls, Mads and KB. Today’s ep features two impromptu (second-time) guests: Brad and Mary. We take a voicemail from a listener to talk about the importance of mental health. The four of us list our V-Day do’s and dont’s. We breakdown the newest dating app on the scene: Ship. We wrap it up with some classic banter on the appeal of a “psycho” significant other.
Good friend and day one member of Mill Nation, Madison Wexler, joins us as we hammer her with questions about living with a significant other. We also breakdown our Saturday night at a post-grad sleepover birthday party.
Are we influencers yet? Listen to hear us chat about what it takes to be considered a micro-niche-almost nonexistent influencer. Also check out our commentary on Fyre fest and why we low key wish it could have been a success story.
KB went to NYC city and Mads spent the weekend in small town, USA. Listen as we breakdown our wildly different weekends outside of the Charlotte bubble.
The pink Razr, Myspace Top 8, and emo phases. We get nostalgic about our favorite cell phones and not getting invited to middle school dances.
It’s playoff Sunday and we’re #sleepy after another weekend out on the town. This week we discuss the ups and downs of our 9-5s after a little over a year in the working world. We also hit on some of our favorite drinking games and how they have evolved over the years. Madison shares some stories about those awkward run ins with people you ~kind of~ know and Kim poses the question: what kind of orange juice are you?
So #theposeproject is in full swing. In this week’s episode we recap our not so low key weekend and discuss our first yoga classes of the year. We also hear from noted hotline caller, Big Will, and answer his question: What would you name your autobiography? We close with a hungover ramble discussing first impressions, first dates, and our meet cute story.
Merry Christmas! That’s right, we recorded on Christmas because that’s how much we care. Pour up a large glass of red wine and get into the Christmas spirit. Listen to us complain about recording remotely, give a breakdown of what qualifies as the best type of Christmas gift, and share some stories about holiday traditions that definitely need to be left in 2018.
New year, new us! In this episode we are talking New Year’s resolutions. #theposeproject is our spin on the typical “I’m getting healthy this year” goal. We’re combining mental and physical health with a hashtag to keep us accountable. Updates to come on whether we have 6 packs by the summer. Renowned guest Graham Allen also pops by the studio for a social media bio makeover and some heated discussion about the scariest thing of all — the L word.
We bring on impromptu guest, Taylor Bush, to talk about the viral allegations made against millennials. What was life like before millennials had the audacity to put a miniature cheeseburger on top of a bloody mary?? Who knows, but we're enjoying our life defying the boundaries of careers, fashion trends, meals, the economy and more.
We’re back in the Charlotte studio feeling rejuvenated AF after taking a weekend off from our typical drunken escapades. Listen to us discuss why a break from the party scene is good for the soul. Movies critiques: Bohemian Rhapsody & The Mule We also give our (not so qualified) advice on getting out of a post-relationship rut, defining a relationship too soon, and whether or not to buy your friends Christmas gifts.
What happens when your bring together 6 of the most random people from across the country to record a live podcast? Answer: Confessions of real vs. online impressions, champagne-induced hot takes, and a ton of jokes that might only make sense if you listen to podcasts from Post Grad Problems or Barstool Sports. Nonetheless, a one of a kind episode featuring @dbrowne93, @christinoelw, @glicker89, and @murdakes1
It’s officially the last and the best month of the year. We discuss the best public places at Christmas time, Christmas list essentials, and how to use said things in the most millennial way possible (ie. AirPods in the grocery store). Additional topics: • Who to bring as a date to your work holiday party if you’re single • What girls consider part of their “number” • A Would You Rather? • Flight anxiety and our upcoming trip to Nashville
We're home for the second most underwhelming holiday of the year (next to Halloween) while we give takes on Thanksgiving traditions, favorite food dishes, and how judgement from your family is just a part of post grad life. 13:40 – KB and her brother discuss intervening in each other's relationships, tormenting the family pet, and innocent yet traumatizing childhood pranks 28:27 – Mads' brother gives insight to what it's like growing up with a "cool older sister" and talks about the line drawn with exes still liking your family members' photos on Instagram. We wrap up with reading a few of our favorite reviews on Apple Podcasts.
Key takeaways: –Hickeys cannot be covered up with makeup –If we're being honest, nobody knows what to get a SO for Christmas –Planning group events is impossible
Our very first minisode, Happy(Half)Hour, debuts on a particularly sad day where we mourn the loss of one of our idolized podcasts, Touching Base by Post Grad Problems. We also delve into the world of DMs where we talk "Cold Call DMs" vs. DMs that come after a prior interaction, as well as DMing about things such as feet, pyramid schemes, and inside jokes. Give it a quick listen to make the middle of your week go by faster.
"Would ppl freak out if we didn’t have a description for ep. 15? I’m too lazy to write one. Maybe it’ll just be like a surprise. You gotta listen to find out what’s in it"
We bring in a long term referenced person - our friend and KB's roommate, Mary Mac, to talk about a recap of our #brokebutcultured weekend where we went from a boujee black tie ball to dancing the extra hour away at a bar. With the season change and daylight savings comes the lack of natural sunlight, which results in seasonal depression or in our case, seasonal bitchiness. We discuss whether it's preferable to wake up with the sun up and get off work in the dark, or vice versa. We also talk about an experience dating a guy who lives in your building, and the red flag that is a guy being mean to the Uber driver and forcing you to order the meal on the first date. Our Instagram poll answers are considered in our decision on what to name the fan base.
We have a major case of the red wine rambles as we go through a list of random segments on a Saturday night. (2:30) We discuss being in the gray area between getting drunk at a Halloween Bar Crawl and going to a lame adult house party. (13:40) The importance of surrounding yourself with a majority of good and supportive people minus the few haters that you need in your life to remind you to stay on your game. Excuse some of the sappiness – it's the wine. (27:30) Twitter segment recommendations from our followers – The unwritten dress code for working out – The best days of the year to get drunk on (42:50) VM: Ex GF Knocks On The Door In The Middle Of The Night (51:00) VM: Would You Ever Turn Down A Date With Someone Based On Their Name?
Because if we're being honest what two girls can't go on forever talking about exes? We rant about the different types of relationships you can have with an ex. From being able to spend the night at their place without hooking up all the way to objecting their wedding. We answer two opposite-end-of-the-spectrum voicemails. Does being upset about seeing an ex get engaged on Instagram mean you still have feelings for them? Would you contact an ex and ask if you can stay at their place when visiting their city? We also give our thoughts on a social credit system being trialed in China and how you pretty much get judged on your level of trash human-ness. If you're into it, here's the full episode https://www.npr.org/sections/money/2018/10/09/655921710/chinas-social-credit-system Oh, and we hear from 5 Kat Cat.
We may or may not be turning into a relationship podcast, but if it means you're all calling into the voicemail, we'll be whatever kind of podcast you want. We have an entirely exhausted segment on all things bedding-related, including how many throw pillows girls and guys should have on their bed and the importance of making your bed. Another voicemail leads us to discussing the ever present issue of shacker clothes – why girls take them, which ones you should give them, and how to get them back. We end with our very first, very well-executed, drunk voicemail from a presumably college-aged dude trying to break it off with a girl after she's caught the feels.
We've officially been recording the podcast longer than some of our relationships have lasted. We're ringing in double digits with our very first voicemails and a DM about an awkward sex story. 1. Dating Single Moms 2. How Many Cats is Too Many Cats? 3. The Literal Headboard (DM) We also discuss social media perception and the power it gives to make your life look fabulous, shitty, or like you're dating someone even if you're not. Bonus tangent: Finding the right balance between being crazy jealous and overly chill in your relationship
Soapboxes were stood on and hot takes were given as we discuss why it's important to take a weekend off of going out, what men should and shouldn't shave, why exes should tell you happy birthday, why writing love letters is better than sending a Snapchat, and the importance of golf etiquette. Call in your questions/topics to (860)881-0386 or DM us on Instagram at @millsandmimosas
A friend visited town for one of Kim's 500 birthday celebrations and we brought him on the pod to discuss his conservative relationship views, what confidence at the bar looks like, terrible roommate stories, and even more terrible hangover stories. As a bonus, we give you 3 playlists that you need on your Spotify immediately teen angst: https://open.spotify.com/user/_keeum/playlist/3zQ25icuJppOVySDdYNicv?si=dJV7SA0kQ7CYOAJvChxiYw Y2K: https://open.spotify.com/user/_keeum/playlist/5mosBZEkM1wXdrQIDfoy0j?si=6JW0fo-PQkONUCCoLzQ7_Q Elementary My Dear: https://open.spotify.com/user/_keeum/playlist/0Fkle7KzM2GggzDGoLzbDy?si=v8aJOm3ER8G192bhKe7gPw
On our way back from Atlanta, GA, we record our first car episode recapping the best and the worst experiences of Music Midtown. Touching on claustrophobia, $24 drinks and 15-year-olds walking around half naked, we give our honest takes on your average music festival as a millennial.
Better late than never, we are joined with Matt Sawaia who tells the story of his proposal and what it's like being engaged as a millennial. We answer some listener questions about posting engagements on social media, dancing (and puking) at a wedding, and go on to decide that weddings in your twenties are just college reunions. The second half of the ep consists of reminiscing on college, Greek life, and weird shit that fraternities and sororities do. After complaining about our Alma Mater moving the student tailgate lot across campus, we ask a question to our listeners: what is the most lame/weird thing that your school has implemented?
We're about three days late on recording and editing but only because we're in desperate need of help from someone who knows what the f*** they're doing with a podcast. We recap LDW with what's leftover of our energy, briefly discuss how we didn't end up dying after attending the birthday party of someone we met on Instagram, and preface the upcoming episode discussing marriage in your 20's. Oh and somewhere around 26:00 we talk about the Bachelor.
(1:30) Summer might be coming to an end but we break down a few of what we consider to be the "Songs of Summer 2018." Follow our Spotify playlist: bit.ly/MMSongsofSummer (11:40) A recurring segment, #brokebutcultured explains why we blow money on seemingly unimportant things in order to have good experiences. (22:26) Blocking, unfollowing, deleting pictures, or having your little brother harass someone for you. We talk about how different people treat their exes on Instagram after a break up. (39:22) Pet peeves on Instagram and how the app picks up on who we're currently stalking.
Our very first featured guest joins us to give a male perspective on dating apps, pick up lines at the bar and nightmare Hinge date experiences. We play a drunken voicemail, make fun of people who sing in the car, and discuss how guys can bond over virtually anything.
We're back again with takes on who we think should (and shouldn't) be the next Bachelor. For those who aren't following, fast forward to us talking about the best first date spots as well as a few of our most cringe-worthy stories. We wrap up with a heartfelt segment on why we love spending time with our parents even if they can't party they once could in their twenties.
Two hangovers and one bottle of champagne later, we try to explain why we started a podcast while strongly advocating for weekday drinking and a motorized scooter share system. Side note: mastering audio quality is a work in progress.
