In this episode, I'm unpacking the history of female body hair removal, the rise of shaving and Brazilian wax culture, and why women are taught to see natural body hair as “gross.”From Ancient Egypt and razor advertising to pornography, patriarchy, and Eurocentric beauty standards, we're digging into how female hairlessness became tied to femininity, desirability, cleanliness, and control. Why is body hair considered masculine on men but unacceptable on women? And why does modern beauty culture reward women for removing visible signs of adulthood from their bodies? Are. You. The Gary & Shannon Show Hour 3 (05.27) – Gary & Shannon’s entire show gets derailed after Petros from Petros & Money drops by the studio, launching the conversation into bad Greek names, body hair maintenance, Shannon’s chaotic dating history, and Dean Sharp somehow looking too good again. Plus: breaking updates from Washington’s “white liquor” chemical explosion, the increasingly ugly Bass vs. Pratt mayoral race, Tulsi Gabbard’s cabinet farewell, and a Parenting segment questioning whether kids from the ‘60s and ‘70s were actually stronger because of a little “daily neglect.”See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

According to Healthline.com, the human body has around 5 million hair follicles. Now you might not have guessed, but that figure is around the same for both men and women. And our body hair has a lot of important functions. It helps regulate body temperature by keeping us warm or retaining sweat to cool us down. It also protects sensitive parts of our bodies from infection, like the eyes and genitals. And yet, women often go to great lengths to have their body hair removed, and there's a taboo around having hairy armpits or other body parts. It's in no small part down to gendered social control. Is body hair removal a recent development? When did that become the case? What about pubic hair? In under 3 minutes, we answer your questions! Today we are tackling the taboo subject of body hair. Let's be real—body hair is one of those things that can bring up all sorts of feelings. For some it's a mild annoyance. For others, it's a deep source of shame. And for many, it's something we've spent years trying to manage, remove, hide, or completely erase. But here's the thing: body hair isn't a problem to fix. It's just… body hair. So why is it such a loaded topic? We'll be exploring the personal and cultural baggage around body hair, how our attitudes have changed and what it means to reclaim our bodies. Body hair! Love it or hate it, it's something nearly every human has to deal with. And for those of us who hate it, whose dysphoria it makes worse, that can mean a whole intensive process to get rid of it. So let's talk about what all that entails, and why we'd go through it just to have to do it all over again. And again. And again. In this deeply personal episode, I share how growing out my body hair became an unexpected gateway to radical self-love, body neutrality, and freedom in my gender expression. What started as a quiet rebellion against beauty standards turned into a powerful journey of healing—one that's made me a better coach, a more present mom, and a woman who leads from embodied truth. We talk about why body goals aren't the enemy—but they also aren't the answer. In this episode, I explore what it means to love your body without obsessing over it, and why letting go of the need to be “polished” cracked me open in the best way. This episode is for anyone who's tired of performing, curious about embodiment, and ready to meet themselves more fully—hair, humanity, and all.Work With Me:https://mailchi.mp/chloepufftraining/offers Connect with me on social media: Instagram: @chloepufftraining & @riseradiopod WWW.CHLOEPUFFTRAINING.COM

Kat GPT tackles the hairy truth about body grooming. We settle the debate on when it's ok to ditch a terrible gift. Rich risks it all by giving his wife dieting advice and Fletch limps in after a weekend that proves the fact that golf can hurt.
Keith returns from Mardi Gras and reflects on the surprisingly family-friendly atmosphere, alongside the expected open-container debauchery. He and Mike discuss bead culture, public flashing, and how social dynamics at such events can override typical social inhibitions. The conversation segues into the cultural legacy of Girls Gone Wild, including its covert marketing of hardcore pornography and the legal grey areas surrounding consent and identification. Mike notes that his preferred porn was "too advanced" for Girls Gone Wild, which is a humblebrag if there ever was one. The hosts then shift gears into a conversation about sexual timing and relationship dynamics. They propose the surprisingly radical idea of having sex before dinner, rather than after, in part to avoid the logistical complications of digestion and sleepovers. This leads to an extended negotiation theory about ejaculation, cuddling, and the psychological benefits of clarity when dealing with the lizard brain. Keith confesses that his post-orgasm snuggling capabilities are vastly superior to his pre-orgasm ones, citing reduced mental bandwidth usage. Later, they explore the nuanced politics of female body hair, particularly in light of the new live-action Snow White film, which has sparked online discourse due to the visible presence of peach fuzz on the lead actress's back. Keith reflects on his strong personal aversions to body hair in intimate situations, while Mike offers a more lenient, fuzz-tolerant perspective. This leads to a revealing discussion about grooming standards, attractiveness, and how to hold unreasonable preferences without becoming the villain in someone else's patriarchy narrative. Keith admits he is "maximally intolerant" of certain aesthetic features and wishes it weren't so—though not quite enough to change. In the final segment, the hosts dissect a listener's account of discovering leftover toilet paper in an inconvenient location during a sexual encounter. They analyze the term "clitty litter," which is probably best left unanalyzed. Keith shares his own experiences with this phenomenon, including one instance that led to a breakup, because of course it did. The episode closes with a thoughtful consideration of pre-sex hygiene, the physics of female anatomy, and the challenges of broaching these topics without becoming a monster. Questions answered this episode: 1. I'm a 25-year-old man, called by God to marriage. Two years ago, I met a girl who helped in the same parish as me, and I fell in love with her. After a few months, we spoke about it, but she kindly rejected me. We lost contact, and I went through a deep crisis of faith. I felt abandoned, extremely and hopelessly alone. After a time, I came back to her city, and we served again together in the same parish. Shortly after, she broke up with her boyfriend and asked me to continue our friendship. She made it clear that although she was open to us having a romantic relationship, I should not expect any concrete outcome to the friendship. I accepted the challenge, and for a year, we struggled to learn to love each other as close, tender friends, embracing with all our hearts whatever God would want from us. Together, we tried to follow the example of Francis and Clare of Assisi. Recently, she told me that she felt the call to consecrated virginity and decided to go to another country to discern this more intensely. My heart reacted to this news with immense joy. I experienced my friend's happiness as my own and felt the grace of God flowing from her heart. This friendship has healed the wound of that hopeless loneliness I felt when she first rejected me. My deepest desire is her happiness, and I know she will find it—whether with Christ or even with another man. But somehow, the secondary desire remains—that she would be the mother of my children and the companion of my dreams. I know we've experienced something rare and wonderful, yet I ask myself if any woman will ever fall erotically in love with me. What would your advice be to heal this wound? 2. Is there any Catholic teaching concerning body hair? Is it immoral to be waxed in certain places, considering that it involves exposing oneself to the person doing the waxing? Secondly, I'm in law school and learning about criminal procedure. One of my classes was discussing a rape case and having to collect semen samples from several different suspects. That led to me pondering the morality of collecting semen samples, also like for medical purposes, and what a Catholic approach to that would be in light of our teachings. 3. My husband and I have been married for 20 years, have four kids, and have always used natural family planning. I recently heard on a Catholic podcast that any type of making out is sinful unless it is meant as foreplay and must end in intercourse. I always thought foreplay was morally permissible as long as it does not lead to climax by either person or incomplete sexual intercourse. Could you please clarify? I would hate to think we've been offending God our whole marriage but would rather be corrected now than never. Ask Christopher West is a weekly podcast in which Theology of the Body Institute President Christopher West and his beloved wife Wendy share their humor and wisdom, answering questions about marriage, relationships, life, and the Catholic faith, all in light of John Paul II's beautiful teachings on the Theology of the Body.

Sukhjit is a practicing Sikh, and letting it all grow (aka keeping kesh) is an article of faith. And as you might imagine, that was easier said than done for Sukhjit once puberty rolled around, and visible hairiness attracted ALL of the unwanted attention.
