Last Friday started with happy hour, sushi, and a fun trip to a new hat bar with friends. It ended with me unexpectedly spending the night at my friend's house, staying up until 1:30 a.m. laughing, talking, watching TV, and snuggling with dogs.In this episode, I'm sharing why this spontaneous night reminded me how important friendship, connection, and a little bit of unplanned fun can be in the middle of our busy lives.

#939 What if you could make $10,000 a month helping kids have the best night of their lives — all while keeping your day job? In this episode, we're thrilled to feature an interview from Nick Loper's Side Hustle Show, where Nick sits down with Anne McGraw, co-founder of Firefly Slumber Parties in Nashville. Anne breaks down how she and her husband built a thriving side business creating Instagram-worthy, themed sleepover experiences for kids, generating $10,000+ per month in revenue while both working full-time jobs. If you've ever wondered whether there's a real business hiding in your own neighborhood, this episode is proof that there just might be! What Nick discusses with Anne: + How the business got started + Startup costs under $5,000 + Pricing and package structure + Building word-of-mouth organically + Using Instagram as the main marketing tool + Silent auction donations as a marketing strategy + Hiring parent-teenager teams + Using HoneyBook and Band app to scale + Upsells that boost average order value + Advice for anyone wanting to start their own Thank you, Nick and Anne! In the quiet suburb of Cockeysville, Maryland, nothing bad was supposed to happen. Families left their doors unlocked. Neighbors trusted one another. And the Browning family seemed picture perfect. Fifteen-year-old Nicholas Browning was bright, polite, and dependable, a Boy Scout, a good student, the kind of teenager parents trusted without question. But on a cold February night in 2008, that image would shatter forever. After being dropped off for what should have been an ordinary sleepover with friends, Nick returned home the next morning to a nightmare scene: his parents, John and Tamara Browning, and his two younger brothers, Benjamin and Gregory, had all been brutally murdered. What investigators uncovered next would shock an entire community and reveal a darkness hiding behind the facade of an all-American family. Join Cam and Jen for this episode of Our True Crime Podcast, titled ‘The Sleepover: Browning Family Massacre.' Be sure to check out the promo for Rogue Transmission from our friend Edward at OctoberpodVHS. This 80s-inspired cyberpunk audio anthology brings together independent horror and true crime podcasts for a special DungeonPunk-themed broadcast on June 2. Welcome back to another episode of the Spiritual Sleepover with our bestie, Steffi Hill, aka Spirit Sis! Today we are diving deep into healing journeys, somatic release, pregnancy, spirituality, and the powerful ways our bodies store emotion and trauma. Dana shares updates from the final days of pregnancy and reflects on preparing for birth through movement, chiropractic care, and surrender, while Shayna and Steffi open up about their own transformative experiences with breathwork, Reiki, past life memories, and emotional healing. We go from lighthearted stories and spiritual "smash or pass" debates to meaningful reflections on collective healing, women's empowerment, and the importance of creating bridges between spiritual awareness and the wider world. Equal parts vulnerable, mystical, and wildly funny, this episode is a reminder that healing can happen through both deep inner work and everyday rituals. Key Takeaways: How the body stores emotion, trauma, and stress in physical ways that can be released through somatic practices like breathwork, Reiki, movement, and bodywork. Why pregnancy and motherhood are deeply spiritual experiences that require both strength and surrender. How breathwork and somatic healing can unlock buried memories, emotional breakthroughs, and profound nervous system healing. How small daily rituals — like movement, cacao, candle magic, journaling, hot water, or nature walks — can become powerful spiritual practices. Why learning to receive support, care, healing, and nourishment is a major part of the spiritual journey. Kail and Lindsie are back on the couch after a sleepover, and this episode gets honest fast. They talk Southern hospitality, feeling out of place, wanting a life they don't need to escape from, and the reality of motherhood when your “free time” is barely free. Then, Kail and Lindsie finally open up about their friendship and business partnership; how Coffee Convos started, the years they weren't always close, the fights, the silence, the people who came in between them, and why their bond feels stronger now than ever. They also get into resentment, public narratives, healing from things you can't fully explain, love languages, gift giving, toxic relationships, and what it means when someone would rather stay mediocre than grow.Plus, a foul play story involving dino nuggets, public bathroom trauma, and one very unfortunate grocery store incident.Get your Fatherless Behavior Tour Tickets herePlease vote for us in the lifestyle category here! For full videos head to patreon.com/kaillowry To send in your Foul Plays email us at info@coffeeconvos.comThank you for checking out our sponsors! This episode is brought to you by booking.com. Child sexual abuse is unfortunately common. In the U.S., the CDC says at least 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 20 boys experience sexual abuse before age 18. In about 90% of cases, the child knows the perpetrator (a family member, family friend, older child, coach, or other trusted person.) We talked about the unknowns about sleepovers and what to think about if your kid wants to attend one.

Paul and Kristen have a 16-year-old daughter who wants her boyfriend to start spending the night at their house. Paul says no way, but Kristen thinks Paul is being too old-fashioned! Whose side are you on?
Your kid's first sleepover can feel like a tiny leap toward independence and a massive punch of parental anxiety. We're talking through how we made the call, why we once said “no sleepovers” as a rule, and what finally changed when the invite came from a family we genuinely know and trust. The big takeaway is simple but hard: boundaries matter more than bravado, and the best safety plan starts with an honest conversation with your kid about confidence, discomfort, and calling home anytime. From there, we zoom out to the wider reality of raising kids who move through unfamiliar rooms and unfamiliar adults. A youth group game played in the dark turns into a real talk about supervision, consent, and body autonomy for kids, plus how we handle faith conversations without pushing shame or fear-based morality. We're trying to raise kids who understand choice, can say “no” early, and don't feel trapped by rules they don't understand. We also get into the daily stuff that quietly crushes parents: developmental milestones, comparison, and the way parent guilt often lands hardest on the partner who's home the most. Add in kids who have absolutely no fear, plus a school slang moment so awkward it sounds scripted, and you've got a full tour of what “different stages of parenting” really means. If you got something out of this one, subscribe, share it with a parent friend, and leave a review so more tired moms and dads can find us. What's your hard rule for sleepovers or new activities?

https://shopify.com/unseen - "I took the butt and put it into my bible" - On June 7th, 1998 at 6:50am, a little girl, badly injured and covered in blood, knocks frantically on her neighbor's door in Barberton, Ohio. 6-year-old Brooke Sutton has just found her grandmother, Judith, dead on the living room floor, and even more chillingly, she saw the man who did it. Within hours, cops pin the crime on Brooke's uncle, Clarence Elkins, and—despite his airtight alibi—he's sentenced to life in prison for the crime. But, with an innocent man in prison, the real killer is getting away. It's now up to Melinda Elkins, Clarence's wife and Judith's daughter, to go up against the prosecutors, police, and even her own family to help Brooke find the truth and prove Clarence's innocence, once and for all. - Writer, director & editor: Alexandre Gendron Researcher: Amanda Hein Voiceover: Will Akana Producer: Salim Sader Assistant editor: Hannah Alicbusan Distribution coordinator: Kat Gardilcic - Getty Images “Conviction: The True Story of Clarence Elkins”: Kurtis Productions, 2008. “What the Girl Saw” American Justice: A&E Networks, 2003. “All Butt Certain” Forensic Files: Content Partners, LLC, 2008. “Never a Doubt” Murder She Solved: True Crime: Force Four Entertainment, 2013. “Star Witness” 48 Hours: CBS News, 2003. “Friends and Neighbors” Cold Blood: ITV Studios, 2009. “Shadow of Doubt” I Didn't Do It: Lively Crime 2 Inc. for Crime & Investigation Network, 2012. “Melinda Elkins” I Solved a Murder: A&E Television Networks, 2013 “Wrongly convicted man snags inmate's cigarette butt to clear his name” True Crime News, 2019. “6 Year Old Daughter Solves The Grandma's Horrifying Murder” M7 Crime Storytime, 2025. “Clarence Elkins undergoes PTSD procedure” FOX 8 News Cleveland, 2017. “Decades-old secret adoptions solved by modern DNA for Akron area families” WKYC Studios, 2018. “Georgia's “Hicks Babies” adoptees search for answers” CBS News, 2014. “The Maury Povich Show” NBC Universal Syndication Studios, 1998. Disclaimer: this episode was recorded before recent events have transpired. I am so grateful for your understanding and support Love, LindsieCC: 473 Kail and Lindsie are back for a conversation that starts off light and quickly turns into one of those episodes. What begins as a sleepover-style catch-up takes a sharp turn into a bigger discussion about parenting, responsibility, the messages kids are getting from reality TV, and what happens when adults stop acting like adults. As the conversation unfolds, they get honest about the realities of teen pregnancy, the difference between support and enabling, and why some topics deserve a lot more attention than they're getting. It's passionate, unfiltered, and one of those episodes where the conversation keeps getting bigger the longer it goes on. Please listen with an open mind and an open heart! In this episode of the Spiritual Sleepover with our bestie Steffi, AKA Spirit Sis, we dive deep into the world of aliens, extraterrestrial consciousness, and the evolution of human awareness. From personal alien encounters during breathwork and telepathic experiences, to discussions on starseeds, ancient civilizations, and the role of consciousness beyond time and space, this conversation explores the intersection of spirituality, curiosity, and the unknown. With a mix of humor, skepticism, and openness, we challenge mainstream narratives, unpack fear-based conditioning around aliens, and invite you into a more expansive, curious relationship with the universe—and your place within it. Get ready for some hilariously expansive fun… and a few alien games along the way! Key Takeaways: Why openness and curiosity are the gateway to connecting with extraterrestrial consciousness. Our personal experiences with alien encounters through breathwork, dreams, altered states, and meditation. How humans can connect with extraterrestrial beings through telepathy, intuition, and energetic awareness—and why consciousness is a shared bridge across species. How our 3D experience of time and reality may restrict our ability to perceive other beings or dimensions, meaning aliens could exist beyond what we can physically detect. Why exploring the unknown expands our perspective—and how considering the vastness of the universe and the possibility of extraterrestrial life can bring a greater sense of humility, wonder, and connection. In true Spiritual Sleepover fashion, enjoy some fun, alien-centered games at the end!
