This week's guest is the first person I've met who, like me, had to simultaneously deal with death, a break up and a fast-paced career. So, of course, I asked her to sit down and talk about our shared experience. I think you'll find the discussion both honest and personal. I also ask Lauren about 2Social, her full service digital creative agency. We discuss what it's like to be a female founder, a brand nurturer and so much more.
If you are a mother, a working woman, a woman with dreams and aspirations…today’s podcast is for you. I look at our guest and I think, “wow. This is the American Dream - sacrifice, dedication and hard won through tremendous adversity by any measure. And it all eventually paying off.” From starting her family business on a laptop, to making the financial decision buy a trailer and move it into their warehouse to live while pregnant with her first child, to moving past a serious accident with a greyhound bus, this female-entrepreneur-success story will truly inspire you. And that is my ultimate goal with GGM. Brittany Sanchez is the President and Co-Founder at Patriot Exhibit Services. Brittany and her Co-Founder (and husband), Steve Sanchez, built the business from the ground up over the past decade. Today marks the first time Brittany has shared her story publicly.

As you can see, she is an accomplished and versatile woman, one who I thought was perfect for Good Girl Mafia. Vicki is a connector and firm believer in serendipity. She believes strongly that you learn at every step of the developing process, even from failures. She will share her experience with failure, being a woman in the digital and artificial intelligence space, her best advice for facing fear and her take on women educating themselves.
As a young designer in Paris during the swinging sixties, our guest met Elizabeth Taylor and married her makeup man. Vicky & Elizabeth became fast friends and confidants. Vicky and Mia invented the mini, jumpsuit, the caftan and Vicky is now the longest running female designer in Paris. Vicky offers us all that she has learned throughout her life, which reads like a novel. She shares her best advice after dressing women for over 50 years. Because sometimes some people need reminding....You determine your value, comfort zone and boundaries. This podcast is about standing in your power, the very basis behind the concept of Good Girl Mafia's April Affirmations.
It is Week 2 of Good Girl Maifa's April Affirmations Month, and today's podcast touches upon the fact that there is empirical data that shows affirmations are backed by science. And so this month is pushed by the concept of giving you the affirmations, one a day, to get you started. "I believe in my skills and abilities" really speaks to this. It wasn't too long ago that I had never recorded a podcast in my life. So, I had to believe...
Good Girl Mafia is dedicating the Month of April to Affirmations, across all platforms. Follow Good Girl Mafia on Social Media, where we will be posting a new affirmation daily. Subscribe to the website for exclusive content throughout the entire month. We will encourage, empower and entertain you all April long....D xx

Haters gonna hate...and then you become the first woman to win an Oscar for Best Original Song, a Grammy, BAFTA and Golden Globe all...in...the...same...year.
You'll hear with Selma Blair's own words how she "cried with relief" after THIS news. We'll share why Lady Gaga cried out in pain. Good Girl Mafia is in awe of these two women. They are speaking out about their medical conditions, which statistics show affect more women than men.

The loss of a job is 'loss', so this series is about loss and how to accept it, move on from it and then THRIVE.

Happy New Year on this last Monday of January. This podcast is all about WHY Good Girl Mafia is returning to the mic three weeks into the year. Hint: human. We're all human....
In Part 2 of my interview with Linda Wang, Founder & CEO of Karuna Skin, the conversation naturally veered into girl talk! Find out how Linda stayed true to herself and in the end....it really paid off. Thank you Linda for your candor!

This Thursday, November 15th, I will be sleeping out to raise money and awareness for homeless and trafficked youth. 1/3 of all homeless youth are found here in California and less than 3% of all shelter beds are designated for youth. That is not okay. May I ask for your help? I am accepting donations here: www.sleepout.org/participant/17615 I believe that many hands make for light work and I am asking you to donate, if it's in your heart. Thank you from the bottom of mine.
People often ask me, "why did you leave HSN?" The answer to that question is answered here. Thank you to my viewer/listener, Samantha, for asking the question!
As I lean into the development of the Good Girl Mafia Website, I have had so many 'aha' moments. This podcast is a personal one all about being in alignment and listening to my inner voice...because even the Founder of Good Girl Mafia still has growing to do. As GGM grows, so do I....enjoy...and unleash your inner bad ass.
Part 2: How to know you're succeeding when you feel like you're not quite there yet. There is a cadence to starting a new endeavor and so many people get discouraged along the way. How to know you're in accomplishment mode when you feel like you are yet to achieve a thing...there is a way to know.
The in between stages are the most difficult. When you're in accomplishment mode vs achievement mode is a crucial time when the foundation of any endeavor is being created. It is also a time when many people start to waver, even falter. If you have started down a new path and you're beginning to wonder if....when....how....listen to this podcast.
A post script of last weeks podcast, which was in defense of Iggy Azalea. Not only did Eminem call her out in his new song, Ariel Winter decided to pile on. It's Good Girl Mafia 101: we don't have to be everyone's best friend, but we do have to be a sister to every woman. This week, I discuss the over investment in opinions, especially in the age of Social Media. And the irony of me being a part of it isn't lost on me; but I try to do it differently.
In defense of Iggy Azalea....because we don't have to be everyone's best friend, but we DO have to be a sister to every girl. Good Girl Mafia's tag line is, "It takes a bad ass to be a good girl. Don't forget about other girls." Iggy Azalea included. Ariel Winter's piling on to Iggy after she defended herself to being included in Eminem's new song is a prime example of what Good Girl Mafia stands for. So, this is in defense of Iggy Azalea...
A little something to help you turn the tables in your mind when you feel the sting of "maybe they don't like me".

Dr. Moses Kushaba's story is one of overcoming insurmountable odds. Born and raised in Uganda at the height of its HIV/AIDS epidemic, he lost both of his parents to the disease by the age of 16. He vowed at that time to help others who had been similarly affected. He went on to work for the US Department of Defense in Mosul, Iraq, emigrated to the US, joined the US Army, and has just earned his Doctorate in Psychology. And there is so much that happened in between...listen to his story in his own words...."The day I will stop smiling, I will die." ~ Dr. Moses Kushaba
