Happy Friday, CHUDs! Another week is at an end, so why not coast on into your weekend with EPISODE 152! This week we welcome back the man responsible for one of our best-loved episodes on GREMLINS 2, and the writer and director of Arrow Video's A GHOST WAITS, ADAM STOVALL! That's right, our last in-person guest (15 months ago?!) return from a safe distance to help us take a look at 1985's sci-fi comedy MY SCIENCE PROJECT. A first watch for both Andy and Mitch, join us for a look at an insurrectionist science-teaching Dennis Hopper, a hugely unexpected third-act dinosaur and a brief foray into Mitch's short-lived and enormously problematic tenure as a childhood stage actor in the 90s.

Well, CHUDs, we are back! After  technical misstep last week, we have screwed our heads back on and righted the ship! So, with that in mind, here's EPISODE 151... it's Mitch v Andy! This month? It's Mitch's choice... His film?  JOSHUA!  Eagle eared listeners might remember Mitch talking about this a while back. It obviously had an effect... A revisit for Mitch and a rare first watch for Andy, the synopsis for this one is as follows... The movie centers around the lives of Brad Cairn and Abby Cairn, an affluent young stockbroker and his wife, raising children in New York City. Their firstborn, the nine-year-old Joshua is a frighteningly intelligent child - to such a degree that he thinks and acts decades ahead of his age. This week, we're joined by the host of the Brain Rot Podcast, a great new horror podcast that we felt an instant kinship with as soon as it emerged. That's right, it's our absolute pleasure to welcome STEVIE WEBB to the show! His film choice? We're headed back to 1994 for Edward Furlong-starring tech-horror mind-bender BRAINSCAN!  An overdue revisit for Andy and (inevitably) a first watch for Mitch, the synopsis for this one is as follows... "Horror films and computer games fascinate teenager Michael (Edward Furlong), and a CD-ROM that portrays murder from the killer's point of view combines these interests. The first time Michael plays it, he kills a stranger and cuts off a foot, thinking the events take place in virtual reality. But the next day Michael finds a foot in his refrigerator, and cyber-ghoul Trickster (T. Happy Friday, CHUDs! What a doozy we have in store this week for EPISODE 147! Our guest this week is a multi-hyphenate best known for THE LATENT IMAGE and Michael Varrati's SO FAR, SO CLOSE... He is also a frequent contributor to The Evolution of Horror AND co-hosts the podcast RETURN TO EERIE, INDIANA (with past guest Becky Darke)... it's JOSHUA TONKS! Now, we have done a lot of Wes Craven films on the show but this one... Oh, this one... MIGHT just be the most divisive one yet. Josh is obviously a fan. Mitch is, obviously, seeing it for the first time and Andy does not rate it. How will this go?  The synopsis is as follows... In the small town of Riverton, a local legend tells of a serial killer's oath to come back and kill the seven children who were born on the night he supposedly died. Now 16 years later, Riverton residents are disappearing again, making some wonder if the legend is true. Bug (Max Thieriot), plagued by nightmares all his life, is one of the so-called Riverton Seven, and it's up to him to save his friends from an evil that will not rest. Happy Friday, CHUDs! The weekend is upon us and what better way to celebrate that than with EPISODE 141! And joining us this week? She is one of the hosts on the excellent Point Horror podcast DON'T POINT THAT HORROR AT ME, as well as contributing regularly to The Evolution of Horror Podcast and Ghouls Magazine... It's Becky Darke! The film? SHOCKER! Coming from that weird, fertile late-80's/early 90's period of Wes Craven films that also saw the release of The Serpent & The Rainbow and The People Under The Stairs, SHOCKER sees The X-Files' Mitch Pileggi star as a deranged electro-madman intent on causing carnage from beyond the grave.  This is a big one for Andy and Becky... What will Mitch make of it? The synopsis is as follows:  After being captured for a series of gruesome murders, Horace Pinker (Mitch Pileggi), a television repairman, faces execution by the electric chair -- but a deal with the devil allows him to come back as electricity. Once he changes into his new form, Pinker goes after the detective that brought him down, Lt. Don Parker (Michael Murphy), as well as Parker's adopted son, Jonathan (Peter Berg). However, Jonathan's mysterious connection to Pinker through dreams might help track the killer's moves.   Please note that this podcast may contain strong language and even stronger Scottish accents.  Also, why not pop over and take a look at our Patreon page? What a week it's been. Riots at the US Capitol, Trump impeached for a second time, COVID rampaging unchecked across the globe and NOW we are here to ruin your childhoods and a beloved children's favourite (which is actually pure nightmare fuel). It's EPISODE 133 This week, we are absolutely delighted to be joined by the writer and star of DOUBLE DATE... It's DANNY MORGAN!  The film? Return To Oz!  Hailing from the hazy, crazy halcyon days of 1985, Disney and director Walter Murch got together and made a sequel (of sorts) to 1939's classic THE WIZARD OF OZ and, on the surface at least, this should've been a gimme. A technicolor wonderland filed with fun, vibrant characters, lighthearted musical numbers and musings on the nature of courage, love, intelligence and friendship.  Instead, what we got is a nihilistic, bleak view of a war-ravaged Oz, filled with nightmarish imagery and scenes to haunt your dreams.  As you can imagine, it didn't do great...  The synopsis is as follows: Dorothy discovers she is back in the land of Oz, and finds the yellow brick road is now a pile of rubble, and the Emerald City is in ruins. Discovering that the magical land is now under the control of an evil empire, she sets off to rescue the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion with the help of her new friends. Welcome to this, the first episode of 2021. Nice to see it's got off to such a quiet start... SO, let's have a laugh! This week, we are absolutely delighted to be joined once again by the writer/podcaster behind ZOBO WITH A SHOTGUN... It's the inimitable ZOE ROSE SMITH!  The film? Repo! The Genetic Opera!  The last time that Zobo joined us, it was to talk TEETH! Now, she's back for somethin totally different! Darren Lynn Bousman's rock musical, Repo! The Genetic Opera! Andy isn't a fan but what do YOU think? The synopsis is as follows: In the mid-21st century, an epidemic of organ failures leads to the rise of GeneCo., a company providing transplants at a great price. Those who miss their payments become targets of GeneCo. mercenaries, who repossess the organs. In a world of drug addiction and legalized murder, a sheltered youth seeks a cure for her rare disease as well as information about her family's mysterious history. Her questions are answered at "The Genetic Opera." Elsewhere, we take a look at your feedback, check out some of your year end messages and look back on some of our festive watchalong debauchery. Needless to say, there's also the first MITCH'S PITCHES of 2021, that may pack a twist of its own... Well, we did hint that we weren't quite done with 2020, so ahead of tomorrow night's Zoom free-for-all watchalong, we return to the microphones one last time to look back on a tumultuous twelve months - it's end of year list time! In Bonusode 15, we each select our top five episodes and films of the year, as well as shooting through some honourable mentions and giving some shout outs to friends, colleagues and companies who have worked incredibly hard to bring us so much amazing horror content this year. We'd like to thank everyone who has taken the time out to listen to, support or appear on the show in 2020, and while we can't mention everyone individually, your kindness, time and generosity has been so appreciated, and has allowed us to grow in a way that we weren't sure would be possible this year. We have no intention of slowing down and hope you'll stick with us for a little while longer... Well, that was the year that was. 2020 is fading in the rear-view mirror and soon it will be forgotten. THIS is the last Minisode of this cursed year. We will be back THIS FRIDAY with Episode 131 and then we will be back in your feeds from Monday 4th January, 2021! So, without further ado, Minisode 132 - The Last Minisode of 2020! Topics this week include BECKY and TALES FROM THE LODGE! Plus, we have the next entry in Andy's side-quest where he delves into the world of NATURE GONE WILD with the over-sized reptilian antics of ROGUE! Also, there's another installment of MITCH'S PITCHES!  Due to his well documented ignorance towards films, Mitch is shown a film poster with all titles, taglines etc removed and tasked with attempting to decipher the plot. Will it go well? The poster* image can be seen below...  *"Hi folks, Andy here. In the interest of transparency, I should say that I have hoodwinked Mitch a little bit with this one. This is NOT, in fact, the poster for a horror film from years gone by. It is, however, a t-shirt design from FrightRags. The film in question? NATIONAL LAMPOON'S CHRISTMAS VACATION! Is it a horror film? No. The image touches horror enough to tickle me and, ultimately, allows me to have some fun at Mitch's expense. Also, it's fucking Christmas!" We also announce the film for this week's main episode... In addition to all this, we dig into your posts and messages in the Feedback section and tell you what you should be watching as we look at what's arriving on streaming platforms this week!   Please note that this podcast may contain strong language and even stronger Scottish accents.  Also, why not pop over and take a look at our Patreon page? Time waits for no man and, mercifully, 2020 is almost at its end. It's been a wild old time and with this being our penultimate main episode of the year, we figured it would be best to finally bring on a guest that we have been dancing around, trying to organise, for a long time.  This week, we are absolutely delighted to be joined by the star of such films as THE WOMAN, POD, JUG FACE, DARLING and IMITATION GIRL... It's the wonderful LAUREN ASHLEY CARTER!  The film? FRANKENHOOKER!  It's our third Frank Henenlotter film after Brain Damage and Basket Case. Now, Lauren brings 1990's FRANKENHOOKER. In the past, Mitch has been a bit unsure of these. How will this one fare? Andy thinks he's going to like it... The synopsis is as follows: A New Jersey mad doctor (James Lorinz) rebuilds his girlfriend (Patty Mullen) with body parts from exploded hookers.
