In this episode I want to give you the 8 attributes we should strive for as fathers and as leaders. This episode is for fathers or want to be fathers, but it is also for you even if you aren't a father because these attributes can be applied in our culture now more than ever. As a matter of fact Whatever type of man you want to be tomorrow you have to build that man today. When I was in one of my Law enforcement academies I had an PT instructor and he would often tell our class, "you hydrate for tomorrow -today". He pushed that on us because we were in the desert of New Mexico and getting dehydrated there would be bad. That principle applies to every aspect of your life as well. The way you prepare for marriage is while you are single…. The way you prepare for retirement is while you're working, the best time to find a new job is when you have one. The great news is that even if you are in the middle of fathering today, you can apply these attributes and actions to your life. If you want to be a leader worth following, a leader who not only gets himself un-stuck but helps the people around you get unstuck you have to become aware of all of your strengths. A strength is something that you are good at. It is how you show up and how you best serve the world, your employees or employer, it is what you use in your business to help you get the most results. At the core of who you are, you have a unique set of strengths that when you are aware of them and use them to full capacity you will give your best in your organization. It's possible to get the same results that you had last year, but if you want to grow and increase your influence, income, have better relationships as a matter of fact- everything in your life, you have to choose to grow. After a season break, I jotted down some thoughts and came up with the 4 R's you and I must apply consistently if we are to grow in our personal and professional life. "The only guarantee that tomorrow will be better, is if you choose to grow today. So, how are you growing? What method do you use to track your growth? 2022 is just around the corner. In these challenging times, growth has been an even greater challenge for leaders. Some leaders continued to flourish despite setbacks and obstacles. Others continue to struggle in leading themselves and their teams towards their goals. The real score? Often, we are not aware that we are falling into the same patterns of behavior which keep our growth stunted. It is this reality that compelled me to record this premiere episode of my podcast's 2nd season. So grab a seat and listen as I unpack the 4 elements that you can do to keep on growing as a person and as a leader (and no - it doesn't involve hustling!) Dr. Hatam has helped me and countless other professionals get to the root cause of the physical pain, so that I can focus on doing what I love most, which is to serve people. Often times we push through our pain and neglect to have it diagnosed, because we are so busy living our lives and leading our organizations. We have so much to accomplish, in so little time who has time to check what this pain really is? But neglecting this could be catastrophic in your life, as Dr. Hatam will share. Your pain could be as simple as what they call "Text Neck" or a serious as a deadly tumor. Listen in on our conversation, take some notes and get ready to take your leadership to a whole new level. What action steps will you take in order to overcome the challenges and objections towards your personal or organizational goal? I am always encouraged by stories of people like Walt-Disney, Madam C.J Walker, Martin Luther, Dwayne Johnson, Saul of Tarsus, Evelyn Amador (that's my mom). The stories of these people inspire me because of how these ordinary men and women were able to see a problem, feel a call or burden and move towards achieving their objective and goals. They inspire me because they too are human beings who like myself have dreams and aspirations but who also had challenges and obstacles that could have easily derailed them, and stopped them. Yet, they persisted, they grew above their circumstance, they were intentional about their decisions, not perfect but learned from their mistakes and pressed through to for a cause and for a dream. I share the next step in the 7 Step in my Lead Through Method that I use to coach business owners, non-profit leaders and entrepreneurs. Apply the principles shared in this episode to begin to see the change you desire. Have you downloaded your FREE Yearly LeadThrough Planner? Knowing why you want something, and why you do something is so critical in you staying the course to obtain it, or become it. Keeping your reason in front of you will help you stay focus. It will give you fuel to press on when you feel like slowing down. It will help you keep working while others are slacking. It will help you continue to dream while others are settling. Your reason for doing something is the thing that drives your passion if not the thing that gives it to you. www.reachinghighernow.com/planner ----to download my free daily planner as my gift to you! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/jose-vargasshow/message
Anyone who has ever accomplished something worthwhile, has always been intentional about the direction they wanted to go and the actions they needed to take in order to get there. We must understand that we don't drift to success in life. We don't drift to a successful marriage, we don't drift out of debt, we don't drift building a successful business. We can drift away from these things and wake up and wonder what happened, but it takes intentionality, focus and effort to succeed at these things. So, what do you really want in life? --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/jose-vargasshow/message
