Hey Diabuddy thank you for listening to show, send me some positive vibes with your favorite part of this episode. In today's episode, I sit down with Jarrod Kind. Jarrod King has spent over 30 years managing life with Type 1 Diabetes, diagnosed at the age of 4. Jarrod is an endurance athlete, enjoying both distance running and cycling, pharmacist, husband, and father. His personal journey has been marked by a relentless pursuit to manage diabetes effectively while living an active lifestyle. The spark for founding Diassentials came after an all day float trip. Like many with diabetes, Jarrod understood insulin pumps to have some level of waterproofing. After being on the river multiple hours, his insulin pump had been splashed a few times but never submerged. By the end of the trip, his pump had failed while being multiple hours from access to insulin. People with diabetes encounter endless obstacles while managing their blood sugars. He feels protecting your insulin pump should not be one of them. This led him to create DiaShield, the first waterproof case designed for insulin pumps. Through Diassentials, Jarrod remains committed to empowering people with diabetes to live fearlessly. He wants to combine innovation with firsthand experience to provide solutions that address the everyday challenges of managing diabetes.Coach Ken's Resources:Website: www.simplifyingdiabetes.comNewsletter Sign Up"More Than A1C" - My Signature Coaching ProgramThe Diabetes Nutrition Master CourseThe 5-Pillars Of Diabetes Success WorksheetDecember (2024) Stronger Together With T1D Get-TogetherSupport & Donate To The PodcastThe T1D Exchange Registry is a research study, conducted over time, for individuals with type 1 diabetes and their supporters.
