Her experience as an immigrant, and subsequent homecoming, helped to hone her eye to the particularities of both cultures, which she strives to express visually through her artwork. Olivia graduated as a Master Mosaicist from the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli in 2016, where she was trained in classical Italian techniques. Since then, she has worked developing her own take on this ancient medium. Olivia is based out of her native New York City, where the medley of different cultures influences her every day. "Who is NYC?" This campaign partnered alongside Project Feel explores all the nuances behind living in New York City. In this episode we talk to Melika Dave aka Offering Rain. Melika is an NYC born and based multi-media artist and organizer of Indian & Ecuadorian descent working in the realms of audio, poetry, painting and design. They utilize their artistic practice in hopes of refreshing the earth like rain through poly-cultural sound, poetry and symbolism. Their previous work has been exhibited at Art on the Ave NYC, Soho House, Knockdown Center and Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance.
