We’ll Take it From Here with Joe and Don
This week, I record a solo episode while Timmy enjoys his trip in Italy. This episode was inspired by a video I saw about the Tibetan Book of the Dead's outlook on what happens after death. This really challenges the traditional idea of the afterlife, which is probably why I thought it was intriguing. I do not know how true it is and am not advocating for its legitimacy, rather I think it's a neat perspective. However, there were some similarities with the conscious's self-judgment (listen to understand) and the mind, so that I dig into that as well. Enjoy whether you believe it or not.Episode resources:Sponsor:Honest Supplements - https://honestsupplements.com
This week we welcomed Justin Hyde to the show. Justin is a good friend from work, who is full of life, which is why I invited him on. We had to cut this show a bit short due to time constraints but we already planned a part two. In this episode, Justin talks about his love for boats, how wrestling helped shape him into the man he is, and some fun stories about senior -year partying during Covid. Justin has great vibes and a strong personality. Enjoy!Episode resources:Sponsor:Honest Supplements - https://honestsupplements.com
Another duo episode. This week we touch on being wary of who you follow online. A lot of these business gurus, despite having successful companies, can sometimes be scam artists of sorts. We are NOT saying that success always = scam. Instead, some people will use movements to pray upon their clients/workers. We give our opinions on why we believe some people do this. Enjoy.Episode resources:Sponsor:Honest Supplements - https://honestsupplements.com
Timmy and I discuss the importance of flipping negative thoughts and breaking free from the old story that is holding you back. It all starts in the mind; so, take control of the mind and watch "miracles" happen. Episode resources:Sponsor:Honest Supplements - https://honestsupplements.com
This week we sit down with Timmy's sister-in-law, Yara. Yara is a kind soul, who possesses the gift of comfort. At a young age, Yara knew she wanted to be an end-of-life doula, to help people prepare for death. Yara pursued a career as a hospice nurse, which then lead to her going beyond her normal duties to make a connection with her patients. Yara shares fascinating stories of how she helped clients, and their families feel comfortable during hard times. We also touch on Yara's journey as a medium between the dead and living, and how one random event allowed her to discover a new power. Yara's message is simple; if you lead with love, you can do no wrong. Enjoy!Episode resources:Sponsor:Honest Supplements - https://honestsupplements.com
In this episode, Timmy and I talk about the JFK files, the new findings of what is in the Giza Pyramids, the Earth, and Timmy's Jeep scenario! Fun talks. Let us know what you think!Episode resources:Sponsor:Honest Supplements - https://honestsupplements.com
This week we present the Gary Numan special.... just kidding, but not really. We talk about cars. We give our opinions on our favorite cars, the best performing cars, the country that makes the best cars, and more. Also, Timmy goes on a rant about a particular car he does NOT like. Tune in to find out which one.Episode resources:Sponsor:Honest Supplements - https://honestsupplements.com
This week we welcome Joe's friend, Marc Cruz to the show. The conversation starts off learning about Marc's hobbies, and then naturally progresses how Marc became the man he is today. We learn how Marc used a break-up to his advantage to better himself physically and mentally, while learning how to hold himself accountable. Marc's message is powerful yet simple; the sun came up today, do you best to help others, and no matter how bad you think you have it, there is something to be grateful about.Episode resources:Sponsor:Honest Supplements - https://honestsupplements.com
As the title states, not all laws are created equally, and thus we asked you to provide some laws you thought are inefficient and should be repealed. We had fun giving our opinions on said laws. Let us know if you agree, disagree, or just give your opinion on the matter.Episode resources:Sponsor:Honest Supplements - https://honestsupplements.com
This week we welcome back Phil McEntee. Phil does not need an introduction to the show since this is his fourth rodeo. As the title insinuates, we have a philosophical conversation, which stems from a personal event in Phil's life. Phil's willingness to open up allows for raw and authentic dialogue, which we hope will help at least one of you; if not, it was a great conversation. We also read your BJJ etiquette responses for some funny content.Episode resources:Sponsor:Honest Supplements - https://honestsupplements.com
This week we speak with our friend Tiziana "Tiz" Pontoriero, who shares a powerful story about overcoming trauma via BJJ. Most of you know Tiz as jovial, kind, and happy on the mats; however, you probably do not know why she started BJJ in the first place. In this episode, Tiz explains the traumatic event, while vacationing in Rome, which launched her journey into BJJ. It was not easy, as you will learn, however Tiz's message is clear: be brave, overcome your fears, and watch how your life improves. Enjoy.Episode resources:Sponsor:Honest Supplements - https://honestsupplements.com
This week we had the pleasure of speaking with the owner of Boonton Coffee, Frankie. Originally from a small town near Edinburgh, Scotland, Frankie always loved the taste of coffee. After spending a decade in corporate America, Frankie yearned for something more than life in a cubicle and thus pursued his passion by opening up Boonton Coffee. Since its inception in 2016, Boonton Coffee has seen immense success and even boasted the accolade of the number 2 coffee shop in New Jersey. Frankie attributes the shop's success to his willingness to learn, taking risks, but most importantly, the hard work of his incredible staff. Boonton Coffee is more than just a coffee shop, rather it is a place to relax, work, go on dates, or just escape from reality. Frankie has also created the Boonton Coffee Presents, which are private concerts for guests to enjoy. We have provided links to all things Boonton Coffee, below. This week we welcome Nick Calvete to the show. Nick is a friend from the Pure MMA community with an intriguing story about conquering life's challenges. Nick is 26 years old with a past rich with experience. At the age of 16, Nick became a father. While his friends were out playing sports and in school, Nick was preparing for fatherhood via having to work multiple jobs to support his son. Nick also touches upon his stint at an in-patient facility to defeat a bout with depression at the age of 20. Considering the circumstances, Nick never threw in the white flag, rather he rose up to the occasion and became stronger and more powerful. Nick's message is clear and simple; no matter what you're experiencing in life, it gets better. Enjoy. Episode resources: Sponsor: Honest Supplements - https://honestsupplements.com
This week we revisit the topic of decriminalizing drugs since you guys had a lot to say. Thanks again to those who participated in the Instagram poll. Some other topics on today's show are the taxation of rights, bullshit with insurance, and what the right move would have been if someone is calling your lady a c**t at a football game. Enjoy! Episode resources: Sponsor: Honest Supplements - https://honestsupplements.com
This week we are joined by Joe's friend and coworker, Jake Ruggiero. Jake has been in sales for 5 years, with one of those years achieving the Board of Director award, which meant that he finished in the top 1%; essentially, he is a master of his craft. Jake is a humble and honorable dude who gives great advice on how to excel in your career and life. We also chop it up about fighting and jiu jitsu and how these arts correlate to other areas in life. Enjoy. Episode resources: Sponsor: Honest Supplements - https://honestsupplements.com
We are back with another duo cast to start off the new year. We touch very briefly on New Orleans and Vegas, which then leads to a spontaneous debate about whether all drugs should be decriminalized. We then jump perfectly into the absurdity of taxes and what we can do instead. Finally, we somehow get into the legalization of prostitution. We are not encouraging anyone to do anything, rather just throwing viewpoints about the pros and cons of it all. We are interested to hear your opinions on the topics. Happy New Year and welcome to 2025! Now is the time to continue crushing whatever you were doing well in 2024, while also improving other areas of your life. Timmy and I share some of our podcast and personal goals for the new year, and also do our normal shenanigans. Enjoy! Episode resources: Sponsor: Honest Supplements - https://honestsupplements.com
Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to all. Timmy and I decided to do a Christmas special with a naughty-and-nice list, however the show ended up being a rant on current events. Hence the name of this show being "Bah Humbug" which to be honest, I still have no clue what it means. Anyway, we go into the dumpster fire of the CR bill and much more. We bring the energy and Christmas spirit! We hope you enjoy the holiday season and buckle up for a prosperous and healthy 2025. Love you guys. Hey guys, it's been a week. Originally, Timmy and I recorded an episode with my friend, Alex, about updates to current events and had a really good talk. Unfortunately, that episode was lost when my computer crashed, and I had to replace my computer's storage device. So, this week you're getting me. I briefly touch on some of those current event updates and also share why giving your desires to God can help them come faster. Timmy and I are working on getting more guests on the show so stay tuned. Enjoy. Episode resources: Sponsor: Honest Supplements - https://honestsupplements.com
Another duo cast this week in which we talk about the assassination of the United Healthcare CEO, Brian Thompson and the drones flying over New Jersey. All of this while we try not to burn down Timmy's garage with the new pellet stove. Enjoy! Episode resources: Sponsor: Honest Supplements - https://honestsupplements.com
Timmy and I discuss the meaning of life during this week's duo podcast. Some people live to work, and others work to live; but what's the reason? Are we meant to make money, be happy, or both? Come along for the ride and figure it out for yourselves. Episode resources: Sponsor: Honest Supplements - https://honestsupplements.com
This week we sat down with retired Marine, Sargeant Alfred Brenner IV, and had the pleasure of learning about his incredible story as a K9 Handler. Al shares his story about his time in the Marines alongside his dog, Grief. However, this story is more than just a man and his dog, rather it is about the bond, trust, and love built between the two. Al recounts some of his missions alongside Grief, including his last one in which he was wounded by an IED explosion. Although Al's story is heavy, it is also very inspiring. Al was able to honor the lives of his brothers, sisters, and Grief by writing a book called Surviving with Grief . Through his story, Al demonstrates the importance of love, loyalty, gratitude, and the drive to succeed. We have included links below to help support Al and get your copy of the book. Enjoy the show. Today, I give a quick episode of why you should do what you desire and not listen to the negativity of others. Goal is to give some positivity for those who may be in a cross road. Episode resource: Honest Supplements - https://honestsupplements.com
You already know (or you should know) that there is an election coming up this Tuesday, November 5th. I give my opinions on the past four years. Seriously, this is the time for we Americans to come together! Please listen and get out and vote! No matter how obvious it seems who the winner will be, we need to get out in numbers and make sure that Marxism does not win.
With Timmy on his honeymoon, I take to the mic for another solo podcast and decided it would be fun to give MY OPINION on a list of conspiracy theories. I found a list on Wikipedia and gave my take on why I think it would be valid or not. This is meant to be a fun little show, so if you find yourself getting worked up, please relax. List includes JFK, chemtrails, aliens, and more. Enjoy. Episode resource: Honest Supplements - https://honestsupplements.com
This week, Timmy and I are joined by our friend, Mauricio Ruiz, who we met at Pure MMA. Mauricio is a serial entrepreneur, who spent his entire life creating new business ideas. Yes, that is no mistake. Mauricio began his entrepreneurial journey at nine years old in Peru, where he would buy and sell cigarettes and alcohol for his family. While most kids would play in the street, Mauricio was doing business. Mauricio continued his entrepreneurial journey into his teenage and adult years via car shops, stock market coaching, sign shops, etc. In addition, he also played professional soccer for the NY Red Bulls reserve squad. Mauricio attributes his success to his confidence to succeed and his self-awareness of when to move on from a project. Today, Mauricio runs a sign, business called SignedUp LLC for which the Instagram can be found below. By the time this episode drops, he will have announced plans to open his new business venture called, WorkedUp, which will be similar to WeWork. This episode is incredible and shows how much you can accomplish with a great mindset, discipline, and self-awareness. Timmy and I give our opinions on what is going on in the world. In addition, we give our views on what it means to be badass, stoic, and when it's okay to take a break. Episode resource: Honest Supplements - https://honestsupplements.com
We welcome back Mikey Main. Mikey is a great friend, who is also the co-owner of Pure MMA and Owner/Founder of this show's sponsor, Honest Supplements. Aside from being an entrepreneur and world level Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitor, Mikey is a great man, husband, and soon to be father! Mikey appeared on episode 49 with his brother, also co-owner of Pure MMA, Andy Main. I strongly suggest listening to that episode if you have not already. Today, Mikey shares more lessons, awesome stories about his time in BJJ, and funny stories that I had no clue about! For instance, Mikey and Andy's encounter with Wayne Brady on a game show; you won't want to miss that story! As always, the link to Honest Supplements can be found below. Enjoy the show! As the title says, I don't know how to write this description, except to say that Timmy and I just bullshit and have fun. We drank a bit and decided to let it loose after a great week. This show has no theme but is entertaining! Episode resource: Honest Supplements - https://honestsupplements.com
Welcome back folks. Thanks to those of you who provided topics on which to speak. The main theme of this episode is political because f**k it why not? We are getting down to the wire with election season and this just makes it spicier. The two main topics were the two-party political system and BIG MIKE. While we do address these topics, we definitely go off on tangents, however we do tie it back. The political jargon starts around minute 27. We did answer the other topics as well. Enjoy.
You guys are in for a real treat because this week's episode features three, badass fighters out of Pure MMA: Larry Hopkins, Alex Rios, and Brandon Bernard. The love that these three have for one other is a testament to the work they put in together. All three men have aspirations to become the best professional fighters while simultaneously teaching their craft to others. We get really silly in the episode and have a blast chatting it up. Enjoy! Episode resource: Honest Supplements - https://honestsupplements.com
Another fun episode in which I quiz Timmy (and you) on random knowledge. We also go off on political rants toward the middle of the episode. We have some big news coming our way for the show and also have guests lined up to come on. Enjoy.
Timmy and I talk about the lies of the food industry and our world. Really enjoying Timmy's company on the show, we bounce off each other really well and the conversation is natural. Enjoy!
We welcome back Timmy Davis, but this time as the show's new co-host! Timmy expressed interest in being a part of the show and I am grateful for it. If you have not listened to any of Timmy's episodes, I highly recommend them (episode #'s 119, 126, 129). Timmy keeps the conversations flowing and is not afraid to ask questions of his own. This week, we asked you to provide topics and questions for our show and they were interesting...... Topics ranged from wanting to make a difference in the world to um... well just listen and you'll find out. Let's just say some of you were wild.
To be honest with you, this episode is a ramble. There is no theme, and I needed to get an episode in. However, our next episode will feature new co-host Timmy Davis, so we will definitely get back to our usual fun and interesting conversations.
I did two episodes this week, so I am giving you a short rant that I thought was important. Always remember to check yourself no matter what you're going through in life. Life may get wild and in the midst of the chaos, it's easy to react. That being said, always remember who loves you and to be respectful.
I welcome back Timmy with an impromptu episode about the story with boxer, Imane Khelif. We clarify our points and have a cool discussion about it. I mention this toward the end of the episode, but I want to reiterate here; this is really a below the line topic. There is so much worse going on and to be honest, this is a distraction and a way to further divide. However, I felt like talking about it so here you go.
Another political rant as I feel it's needed. As per usual, I do not hold back. How are people still considering voting for Harris (i.e. the establishment) after the past 4 years and all the exposed lies? I'll let the episode do the rest of the talking.
The title is straight forward. It wouldn't be me if I did not give my two-cents on what happened a week and a half ago. Full disclosure that everything I say on this show is my opinion, but I ask for everyone to use some common sense. Could I be incorrect? Sure, but I don't think I am and I believe most of you will see my points. If you don't, that's fine.
This week, I am joined by artist and musician, Brian Fitzpatrick. Brian and I share a mutual friend in Scott Dorey, who was previously on the show. I had a blast listening to Brian's story, which includes his love for music, art, Jiu Jitsu, and life. Brian's love for art and music began at the age of 5, when he would use his mother's records to design his own band logos. Brian followed through with his passion by performing in bands, designing art for TV networks, and training in the art of Jiu Jitsu. What I love about Brian's story is his desire to grow and succeed. Brian is the lead singer in his own band named Brian Fitzpatrick and the Band of Brothers, which you can find on Spotify, YouTube, Facebook, and in person. The band currently performs in bars local to New Jersey, so if you are in the West Milford area, check them out! Please enjoy the show!
This week's episode was inspired by the closing paragraph of an incredible sales book, Fanatical Prospecting, by Jeb Blount. Jeb presses the reader to ask himself/herself one question, "how bad do you want it?". This got me thinking about all areas of my life and my answer was clear, "I want it bad". Everything, I want it all. However, I realized that this was a good time to ask you guys, how bad do you want it? We all say that we want things but how bad? In this episode, I press each of you to dig deep and find your answer. Enjoy.
No, it's not what you think. I am not going to give a recap of the debate and the reason is because I didn't watch it. However, I did see and hear people talking about it and I felt a need to address one key aspect. My question is why are we surprised about Biden? Why is everyone suddenly acting so shocked about his mental state? Why are we not seeing that everything is calculated and that he is just a scapegoat? Listen to today's show for more regarding why I believe this is all planned.
This week, I come in hot with a three-way talk with my boys and veteran guests, Phil McEntee and Timmy Davis. As the title implies, this conversation went deep and was filled with intriguing dialogue. Phil and Timmy are intellects who view the world from an interesting point of view. There is a lot of great conversations and lessons in this episode, along with funny banter. Oh, and if you stay until the end, you'll get a great rant about where we think the world is headed.
This week, I talk about the power in not giving up and doing your best. I also speak about the power in not giving a crap about what others think about your progress. Those who criticize your honest work tend to project their own insecurities. Stay positive, do your best, and don't give up on your dreams.
Last week, I gave you a badass 4-hour conversation with my boy, Timmy. This week, I keep it short with a solo, however this episode is important. Once again, I come back to the mind and how crucial it is to take control of your thoughts and to eliminate the victim mindset. This episode stemmed from some instances that occurred in which people took their negative circumstances, cried victim, and made their situations worse. I obviously do not share details as they are not my stories to tell, but the theme remains. We are in control of our lives and must always act accordingly.
This weekend, I record from my boy, Timmy Davis's, garage on the Friday of Memorial Day Weekend. Even though this episode will drop a couple of weeks after the holiday, I still want to thank all the service men and women, who sacrificed their lives for the people of the United States of America. I also want to thank Timmy for inviting me to his home because it provided for a relaxed environment, where we chatted, smoked cigars, and drank Scotch. Timmy first appeared on episode 119, so listen to that one for more about him. Today, we converse about life, society, deep personal stories, dogs, politics, hobbies, goals, and conspiracy theories (I can already see the eyes rolling on some of you). These are fun conspiracies that will make you think; for instance, Timmy's theory about the moon landing is simple yet genius. We spoke for four hours, which is a record for this show! Let's see who has the stamina. Enjoy!
This week, I welcome back my boy, Mike Amore. Mike first joined us on episode 70, which was fifty-three weeks ago to be exact. In that episode, Mike introduced himself and gave us an understanding of how he got his start in fighting. Today, we spoke about his growth during this one-year time span. Mike recounts his trip to Thailand where he had the opportunity to train with the top Muay Thai coaches and immerse himself in the culture. We dive pretty deep into his mental growth and attitude towards life, which I hope will resonate with you all. This episode will have you reflecting on your own life and understanding your strengths and weaknesses. Really loved kicking it back again with Mike and I know you will too.
This week I am joined by Veteran and Founder of Abrusci's Coffee, Sean Abrusci. Sean and I share a mutual friend who I am grateful was able to connect us. Sean is vibrant and constantly improving in all aspects of his life. We discussed a variety of topics from his time in the Marines, working in narcotics with the DEA, his non-profit adventure in Ethiopia, and life as an entrepreneur. Despite Sean's different paths, one ideology holds true which is finding work. Sean is a big proponent of holding yourself accountable and executing the task at hand. This mindset has allowed him to achieve success in his endeavors and grow as an individual. Please see below for where you can support Sean's company and enjoy the show: Website - abrusciscoffee.com Instagram - Abruscis_coffee
