Today we're joined by tattoo artist and entrepreneur Kat Von D to discuss her incredible testimony of coming to faith in Christ and her ongoing faith journey. Kat explains her upbringing and how she initially rebelled against going to church because it was only something she was told to do. We take a look at her rise to fame through the shows "Miami Ink" and "LA Ink" and her interest in spiritual practices that were just methods of putting Band-Aids on a sinking ship. She recalls her journey to sobriety and how her husband helped her readjust her thinking on not just her faith but also some political topics. We discuss her viral baptism video, some of the backlash she's gotten from both non-Christians and Christians, and how she can actually use certain aspects of her life and style to reach those who may feel ostracized by Christianity or “Christian culture.” Then, what would Kat tell those who have questions about Christianity as she did? --- Relevant Episodes: Ep 170 | Is It OK to Celebrate Halloween? https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/ep-170-is-it-ok-to-celebrate-halloween/id1359249098?i=1000452267090 Ep 514 | Halloween: Satanic Trick or Harmless Treat? https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/ep-514-halloween-satanic-trick-or-harmless-treat/id1359249098?i=1000540050585 Ep 697 | Revealing the Real Origins of Halloween | Guests: Jeremiah Roberts & Andrew Soncrant (Cultish) https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/ep-697-revealing-the-real-origins-of-halloween/id1359249098?i=1000583868843 --- Buy Allie's book, You're Not Enough (& That's Okay): Escaping the Toxic Culture of Self-Love: https://alliebethstuckey.com/book Relatable merchandise – use promo code 'ALLIE10' for a discount: https://shop.blazemedia.com/collections/allie-stuckey Learn more about your ad choices. Mike Diamond is an Author, Television Personality, Director, Life Coach and Interventionist. Known for his work on the hit TV shows NY Ink and Bondi Ink Tattoo Crew, which is currently nominated for a Logie Award for Best Reality Series. Originally from Perth, Western Australia, Mike got off to a bit of a rough start. Battling undiagnosed dyslexia, he started using drugs and alcohol at age 12. At age 16, he was expelled from Aquinas College and finished at Melville H.S. Immediately after graduation, Mike moved to Sydney and enrolled at the Actors Center. He got a job at a local clothing store which, unbeknownst to him at the time, would change his life forever. Lady Luck was on Mike's side when a customer at the store handed him a Green Card Lottery ticket. Mike won a green card in 1997 and made the move to Miami.  Shortly after his arrival, Mike landed a role on the CBS sitcom, Grapevine from Director David Frankel. After Grapevine, Mike moved to NYC, where he worked on various projects including as a guest star on Sex and the City. Mike wrote, created and starred in a VH1 pilot with former STP and Velvet Revolver frontman, Scott Weiland. Splitting his time between NYC, Miami and Los Angeles, Mike had regular gigs performing stand up at Caroline's on Broadway and The Comedy Store. Mike was properly introduced into the tattoo world when he appeared on Miami Ink. He later became the store manager for his good friend, Ami James, at Wooster St and starred on Season 3 of NY Ink. Mike then headed back to his hometown where he wrote, directed, produced, and starred in Bondi Ink Tattoo Crew, based on Bondi Beach.  Although Mike has had plenty of “highs” in his life, he has also had his “low” moments along the way. Mike has battled cocaine and alcohol addiction for the majority of his life. The defining moment came at the height of his career while shooting a TV show for VH1. To the outside world, Mike looked like he was living the dream but on the inside, Mike was spiritually bankrupt and miserable. He realized that if he didn't turn his life around, he was going to die. April 16, 2006 was the day Mike Diamond got sober. Since then, Mike has literally helped hundreds of people on the road to recovery. He is on beck and call to all his clients and friends, helping them through their life problems and battles with addiction. Mike Diamond has achieved a great deal externally, but it is the internal battles that he's confronted with the drive for mastery of self. With knowledge, purpose, and a sense of humor. Mike Diamond is an Author, Television Personality, Director, Life Coach, and Interventionist. Mike wrote, created, and starred in a VH1 pilot with former STP and Velvet Revolver frontman, Scott Weiland. Splitting his time between NYC, Miami, and Los Angeles, Mike had regular gigs performing stand-up at Caroline's on Broadway and The Comedy Store. Mike was properly introduced into the tattoo world when he appeared on Miami Ink. He later became the store manager for his good friend, Ami James, at Wooster St and starred in Season 3 of NY Ink. April 16, 2006, was the day Mike Diamond got sober. Since then, Mike has literally helped hundreds of people on the road to recovery. He is on beck and call to all his clients and friends, helping them through their life problems and battles with addiction. This is Mike Diamond in his own words, on the Knockin' Doorz Down podcast. Kat Von D was born in Nuevo Leon, Mexico.   Her family moved to LA when she was 4 years old.  She starting playing piano at the age of 5, and was inspired by her grandmother to pursue music.  No one in her family drank or did drugs, a very religious family upbringing for her as a kid. When Kat was 13, she discovered punk rock music, and that culture spoke to her.  She always felt like an outcast, and this music made her feel like a part of something.  She shaved her head, started tattooing her friends, and this really scared her parents.  At the age of 15, her parents put her in the Provo Canyon boarding school.  This was the same boarding school that Paris Hilton went to, and suffered abuse.  Kat also suffered abuse herself.   After leaving the school, she starting drinking to deal with the trauma she just went through. Eventually she found herself on the TLC TV series “Miami Ink” for 2 seasons.  She eventually left the show and opened her own tattoo shop, and starred in the series “LA Ink”, where she stayed for four seasons.  Kat's drinking and partying started to get heavy around this time, and it started to take its toll on her.  She decided to get sober in 2007, during the first season of LA Ink.  She started the process, which was tough at first, but 14 years later, she has stuck with it and is still sober to this day. In 2016, she met her husband Rafael Reyes (AKA Leafar Seyer) who is the main artist in the cholo-goth band Prayers.  She was there for a music video appearance, but they really hit it off personally.  The ended up getting married in 2018, and gave birth to their son later that year.  She's written 2 books, “High Voltage Tattoo” and “The Tattoo Chronicles”.  She's also started her own vegan makeup company, with 20% of the proceeds going to Project Chimps, an organization dedicated to providing care for retired research chimpanzees.   Kat is vegan herself, and wanted to make sure her make-up was cruelty free for animals.  Now, she's focusing on her family, finding the balance of doing her own projects, as well as family life.  She also shares insights as to why she decided to move to a small town in Indiana.  She's also finally pursuing her music endeavors with a new album out “Love Made Me Do It”. In this episode Adam enjoys a great conversation with Luke Wessman. He has a fascinating life story; he's a well established tattoo artist that was born on a hippie commune in rural Tennessee. We talk about many various topics from meditation, wild conspiracy theories, Kanye, “have to's & get to's, relationships, how to improve our romantic relationships, what it was like to work and appear on the show Miami Ink, as well as his intriguing road to becoming a high degree Freemason. Lukes discusses his childhood experiences that are anything but normal— he came into the world the natural way (..in a tent) on a fully sustainable hippie commune with no running water or electricity, then moving and living a nomadic life up and down the coast of California. He discusses how he had a moment of embarrassment with his childhood background while eventually deciding to embrace his story which led him to learning the value of hard work. His values and life experiences eventually moved him to start the community and brand called The Lost Art of the Gentleman; “Treat them like you don't have them forever,” is how Luke would advise men on the treatment of, not just romantic partners, but people in our lives that matter most to us.. Finally, Luke talks about his career as a tattoo artist, doing it for the love of the craft, the secret to being able to work with high-profile clients, working with people without a hidden agenda and just being a genuine person. We believe we can all learn something positive from Luke and this podcast proves it. Kat von D, by any measure, is one-of-a-kind. One of the world's most celebrated tattoo artists, Kat defies the idea that while life is short, art is forever, choosing a medium that is inherently perishable: the human body. She rose to fame for her starring appearances on two popular TV shows, Miami Ink and LA Ink, and parlayed that recognition into a wildly successful entrepreneurial career through her line of makeup, simultaneously becoming both an alternative fashion icon and a social media sensation. Music has always been central to her creative inspiration, and while her image evokes the worlds of punk, metal and goth, she is equally devoted to the classical piano, citing Beethoven and Glenn Gould among her heroes. We caught up with Kat on the eve of the release of her first album, “Love Made Me Do It,” for a conversation ranging from her modest beginnings to her rise to fame and her new musical adventures.

Hør mere i vores podcast. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/labischita/message

7 EQUITY SERIES | MINDSET For the Next 7 weeks we are bringing on an expert in each of the 7 equities. This week we brought back one of our first guests, Mike Diamond. Mike Diamond is a Television Personality, Director, Life Coach, and Interventionist. At age 16, he was expelled for Aquinas College and finished at Melville H.S. Immediately after graduation, Mike moved to Sydney and enrolled at the Actors Center. He got a job at a local clothing store which, unbeknownst to him at the time, would change his life forever. Lady Luck was on Mike’s side when a customer at the store handed him a Green Card Lottery ticket. Mike wrote, created and starred in a VH1 pilot with former STP and Velvet Revolver front man, Scott Weiland. Splitting his time between NYC, Miami and Los Angeles, Mike had regular gigs performing stand up at Caroline’s on Broadway and The Comedy Store. He realized that if he didn’t turn his life around, he was going to die. April 16, 2006 was the day Mike Diamond got sober. Since then, Mike has literally helped hundreds of people on the road to recovery. He is on beck and call to all his clients and friends, helping them through their life problems and battles with addiction. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/projectmindset/support

There are only a couple episodes I think are relatively uninspired and this is one of them. Why didn't I title this episode starchy wad? Anyway, I'm not crazy about the first half of this episode. I have some barely informed opinions about food science, some of which I stand by, some of which I don't, especially in relation to my current dietary restrictions. Time makes fools of us all! The song is from a little EP that I did, one of the first things I recorded while living in Portland and I'm a big fan. The second bit is probably going age really poorly and might be a little hard to follow. My wife at the time was watching a whole lot of Miami Ink and L.A. Ink, which I think is more or less bunko, even by the standards of reality TV. And I'll watch some reality TV, as long as it contains treasure hunting of some kind. But these shows bugged me with it's thuggish attitude and obnoxious characters. Further, the rotating cast of people looking to get tattoos were selected based on how sentimental and tear jerky their ideas were. So, I threw together a bunch of characters into a sort of beerslam: Behehehndrehndehendehenen Ink. Most of the shop characters don't appear again, probably because I felt uncomfortable about doing foreign accents. I did, however, draw a picture of Mutaro that is terrifying.

You know, when they finish filming for the day, sometimes they go to one of the cast's trailer to just hang out, play instruments and sing. I think it will be interesting to watch them perform music.Sheri: Probably the auditions. It would be nice to see the first time Kristen and Rob kissed. And also for us to have a glimpse of those who auditioned for Edward's role.Anna Nicolette: The "Lion and the Lamb" part wherein Esme was the one to utter the quote not Edward. The delivery would've been more fitting rather than just being blurted out by Edward.Alex Jo: I wish it also have an audio commentary by the author of Twilight, Stephenie Meyer. And I wish that it has lyrics of "Bella's Lullaby". And I also wished that the cover has an autograph by Miss Stephenie Meyer.Riyah: Maybe most of the fans would also like the BLOOPERS portion while making the movie to be included in the DVD as well. And also for me specially, I'd prefer if they include the video where Rob pattinson audition for the role of Edward.Jacq/Amala: I know this sounds crazy but I would have wanted to have the DVDs signed by the cast. ahaha Well, aside from that, I would want them to at least have an exclusive interview of the cast and everybody behind the movie. More behind the scenes maybe...Rome: A Blooper or Gag Reel, More BTS footage: the ones shown in Rome and Madrid comes to mind, hope it's included in the 7-part docuPrezeuz: i really want to see how the stars auditioned for the roles.. haha!Melissa: For the Twilight DVD, it would be nice to include a feature on the Rome Film Festival when Twilight debut the 8-minute clip. It would be a blast to hear those Twilighters screaming, maybe even see our very own Amala Thea, our official TCP correspondent from Rome. Also, maybe clips from the LA movie premiere and other premieres from other parts of the globe (Madrid, Italy, etc.) and just basically capture the craziness and the cast/director's reactions to it.Kai: I'm not really sure if there's a blooper reel on the DVD ( -- is there?) If there's none, then, I'd like that. Mainly because I would like to see Rob and Kristen loosen up a bit, you know? I think fans would like to see them out of their "Why so serious face/s". ;)) I also would like to see alternate endings / cuts or whatnot. You know, the same scene but from a different angle or camera shot or clip. It'll be interesting to see what shots were not used and could be used for that scene and compare it.Liam: Ge, Xin, Rome, Echo, and I were talking about the Tagalog translation of Twilight lines. As what Rome posted in the Tagalugin Mo thread, it's quite interesting to see a Tagalog dubbed Bella-Edward Kissing Scene. Plus, I think it should be dubbed by 2 of the most promising members of the TCP Forum. It will be totally cool (and hilarious hehehe) to have that in the DVD.Elizabeth: The Audition. (not sure if this is part of the documentary: "The Adventure Begins: The Journey from Page to Screen", which is among the special features) I would want to see how the actors convince the Producers, Meyer and everyone that they are good for the role. plus, i kinda think that they try on different roles before 'landing' on their final role.
