Approaching the age of 50 with the same fervor as my younger years hasn't been a walk in the park. Luckily, Maurice Moore joined me to share the secrets of his vitality, providing invaluable insights into how he's crafted a career in the demanding world of showbiz while keeping health and fitness at the forefront. As we unravel Maurice's remarkable journey from a small-town kid in North Carolina to a Hollywood hotshot, we discover the critical interplay between physical vigor and professional triumph. This episode isn't just about the glitz and glamour; it's a deep dive into the discipline that fuels success across all of life's arenas. Maurice and I dissect how the rigor of maintaining fitness and the mental fortitude it cultivates spill over into the relentless entertainment industry and personal lives. We also get candid about the importance of intrinsic motivation—how it outstrips the allure of fame and fortune—and how consistency in the gym can act as a metaphor for steadfastness in family, career, and personal aspirations. But the conversation doesn't stop at just fitness. Maurice's acting chops and the transformative power of theater education are also under the spotlight. We revisit his early break into acting alongside industry legends, the mentorships that shaped his path, and the mindset that's required to master the craft. If you're seeking inspiration to pursue your passions or looking to imbue your middle years with purpose and health, Maurice's journey is a testament to the power of resilience, discipline, and knowledge as the ultimate tools for overcoming life's hurdles.Maurice Moore describes himself as a “storyteller”, whom at an early age received a lifechanging opportunity when Steven Spielberg cast him in the Academy Award nominated classic “The Color Purple”.  This fueled his passion to become an actor, then ultimately a producer and filmmaker. Maurice went on to hone his talent on the stage and screen working in productions from Austin to Los Angeles. After a decade long stint in Los Angeles where he found success as a screenwriter, filmmaker, and producer Maurice took his valuable business experience to Austin, TX where he created Motivate Pictures.Within the first five years of its existence Maurice, working alongside his long timecinematographer Alex Rios, has turned Motivate Pictures into a multi-award-winningproduction company including films such as “The Devil Inside Us”, “DejaVu” and “The Place She Dwells” With that success Motivate Pictures has expanded globally and created Motivate Pictures Europe! Maurice and his team have gone on to produced critically acclaimed projects all over Europe that includes “Skillz”, “The Heist”, “Light”, “Blue”, “Cold Love”, “Executive Decision” and “And Justice” to name a few. Maurice's recent features film, the psychological thriller “Finding Solace”, will hit theaters in thefall of 2024.Maurice is the  founder and Acting Coach of the nationally acclaimed Breathe Acting Studio!  http://breatheactingstudio.comEmail: Barton@bartonguybryan.comWebsite: http://bartonguybryan.comUse this link to get a 30 minute discovery call scheduled with Barton regarding the Team Bryan Wellness Concierge Fitness Programhttps://calendly.com/bartbryan/conciergecoachingcallMy 3 Top Episodes of the first 100: 7 Essentials to Building Muscle after 40 3x Olympic Gold Medalist Brendan Hansen MMA Strength and Conditioning Coach Phil Daru

We’re working our way back to form. We’ve got about 30 minutes of goodness for you this week. We chat about keeper league values and specifically, selling stud pitchers for youthful bats. Todd tends to side with the bats and I say throw something against the wall and see what happens. The other trade pieces to offer are the once-young studs that are beginning to fade (i.e. Evan Longoria and Jay Bruce). Really interesting to hear how our opinions differ on trading in general. Todd tends to discount pitching and older hitters, while I conjecture that you might as well offer the deal. What’s the worst that can happen? In prospect talk, keep an eye on Nick Williams. We really love this guy. He’s cut down his K-rate and still showing speed/power potential like the good version of Alex Rios. Tyler Glasnow in the Pirates system looks like a stud pitcher in the making. If you’re looking for a deep league name for next year, check him out. We are also fans of Julio Urias, who probably won’t be up, but could make a real-life impact in September in a relief role. As always, check us out on Twitter @2020AllStars and iTunes. After some winter hibernation, the Royals finally got things going on the transaction front, and we talked about the Royals' moves to fill out the lineup. So we compared Kendrys Morales and Billy Butler and the general market for hitters, including the Royals shift from their goal of a floating DH to settling on Morales. We also discussed Alex Rios and his down 2014. The Royals found themselves with limited options after other teams picked the outfield free agent class clean, but is there still hope for a rebound? We've talked in the past about how the Royals lean towards hoping for improvement rather than what looks like hard analysis, and their offseason moves reflect that. We wrapped up by discussing the Wil Myers trade rumors. Two years after the Royals dealt him for James Shields, Myers may be on the move again. Is that the market playing out, or is there something about Myers causing another move? We'll keep tracking the Royals moves this offseason, including what may be a couple of pitching acquisitions (Jeff thinks a trade is the most likely route; Mike thinks the Royals will fill from free agency). And finally, for anyone interested, Mike gave a real-time review of the Royals-themed beer from Boulevard - Crown Town Ale.

The Red Sox have surpassed the .500 mark for the first time since April 3, as the club won its first series in Texas since August 2011 over the weekend. Alex recaps the Red Sox’s three games against the Rangers, and lauds the pitching performances from Jon Lester and John Lackey. Lester is averaging 10.6 strikeouts per nine innings this season, but the Red Sox still apparently haven’t budged on a contract extension for him. Peter Gammons – the ultimate team insider – tweeted last week that the Red Sox are weary of signing Lester to a new deal because of CC Sabathia’s and Hiroki Kuroda’s struggles this year with the Yankees. Alex refutes that notion, largely because Sabathia and Kuroda are terrible comparisons for Lester. Rangers ace Yu Darvish almost completed arguably the most controversial no-hitter against the Red Sox Friday night, as the Rangers’ official scorer charged right fielder Alex Rios with an error when David Ortiz pop-up fell between him and the second baseman. Baseball’s unwritten rules say a fielder shouldn’t be charged with an error on a ball he didn’t touch, though the actual rulebook says differently. Unwritten rules sometimes supplant the real rules in baseball. It’s what makes the game annoying, and great at the same time. The offensive struggles of Jackie Bradley, Xander Bogaerts and Will Middlebrooks are discussed as well. The Red Sox are currently seeing why it’s risky to have three young players break into the everyday lineup at the same time. In the “Around the League” segment, Alex takes a look at the AL East standings. The Yankees have now lost 60 percent of its Opening Day rotation, because Sabathia has joined Michael Pineda and Ivan Nova on the disabled list. But hey, at least Derek Jeter got a really cool gold bat over the weekend in Milwaukee! The Orioles’ Nelson Cruz is second in the AL in home runs, and is one of several players who was implicated in the Biogeneis controversy last season who’s having a terrific year. It just goes to show that it’s nearly impossible to theorize how much PED use affects a player’s performance. Alex also talks about Major League Baseball’s sickening, and misguided war on podcasts. Pretty soon, “Without a Curse” could be the last remaining independent podcast available for download in the iTunes store. Email Alex, ajreimer0@gmail.com, and follow him on Twitter, @AlexReimer1. Inside this edition of "Without a Curse," Alex speaks with Tim Daloisio, a contributor to the popular Red Sox blog, www.firebrandal.com. Alex and Tim talk about a disappointing weekend against the white hot Royals, in which the Red Sox lost three of four games. The starting pitching faltered this weekend, and Alex asks Tim if Red Sox fans should be concerned about the rotation going forward. Alex and Tim also discuss whether the Red Sox made the right decision in recalling Will Middlebrooks instead of calling up Xander Bogaerts, and if the club will go to Bogaerts if Middlebrooks struggles this month. After his conversation with Tim, Alex recaps the weekend against Kansas City, and says Mike Napoli should no longer be playing every day. Mike Carp has an OPS well north of .900, and should be playing more regularly at 1B. In the "Around the League" segment, Alex takes a look at the AL East standings, where the Rays failed to gain ground on the Red Sox this weekend. The Yankees had a big weekend, though, taking two of three from the Tigers despite Mariano Rivera blowing two consecutive saves. Alex Rodriguez played a big role in the Yankees' win on Sunday, much to the chagrin of Yankee management. Miguel Cabrera's historically strong MVP case, the importance of the Rangers' acquisition of Alex Rios and more is talked about as well. Alex feels a lot better, as the Red Sox are now riding a 3 game win streak. Alex goes over this series against the Tigers at Fenway Park, and talks about how hot Jason Bay, Mike Lowell, and even JD Drew are, and why that's a key for this Red Sox lineup. Alex again mentions the fact that David Ortiz and Jason Varitek are no longer everyday players, and are devaluing the team by being in there every single day. Alex also gets on Kevin Youkilis for charging the mound on Tuesday. It's understood that baseball can be a game of emotions, but you have to control yourself, and realize getting yourself suspended can only hurt the team. Alex previews the big weekend series in Texas, recaps the AL East and Wild Card races, and talks about Pedro's return, the White Sox claim of Alex Rios, and the ongoing, but soon ending negotiations with the Nationals and Stephen Strasburg. Plus, the "post of the day" is handed out and a call is played! Listen to the "Alex Reimer Show" every Saturday from 4-5 PM EST on 1120 AM WBNW Boston. Listen live online at www.wbnw1120.com!
