Welcome to Showcasing House Music DJ Mixes by dattrax!!                                                 For me house music is an escape vehicle from the things that don't excite me about my life or stresses me out, so in those pockets of time that I spend related to house/ DJing, I enjoy it that much more. House Music is therapeutic in that it relaxes me. Other guys love sports, or are zoned out to TV. I don't care for that stuff.Imprinted, MixOne and Two are filled with tracks bought from Beatport.com. Techy, minimal, but still funky with fat house basslines and crisp high hats. Very little vocals on these two mixes aside from the dubby vocal washes and tracks with repetitive one liners.Or I could be wrong, less than usual, I should say. I love vocals laced into cool house instrumentals, because I don't believe you remember an hour of pounding tech and minimal house by itself. I am not criticizing, don't misunderstand. I love listening to top techhouse DJs like Alland Byallo and have a ton of tech and minimal house.But if they were layered with hot vocals, then the tech and minimal house will invigorate the vocals, making them that much better and exciting, and the vocals will imprint a positive memory of the mix into the listener's minds. That's why you can play one bar of a classic house track and the HouseHeadz will start singing. HOUSE KARAOKE.No one remembers a instrumental. People don't ask DJs: "What's that song that goes BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, WAHHH, DUCKP, UMPH???" They don't ask because they don't care.I love the feel of this mix. Charging and aggressive without being annoying/ irritating. Welcome to this week's edition of Subterranean Homesick Grooves™, a weekly electronica-based radio show presented originally on CHMA FM 106.9 at Mount Allison University in Atlantic Canada (but expanded to distribution on other terrestrial and internet-based radio stations), and also distributed as a global podcast through iTunes. The show is normally programmed and mixed by Jonathan Clark (as DJ Bolivia), although some weeks very occasionally feature guest mixes by other Canadian DJ's. The show encompasses many sub-genres within the realm of electronic dance music, but the main focus is definitely on tech-house and techno, and a small amount of progressive, trance, & minimal. Due to the mix of styles, you may hear combinations of tracks that wouldn't normally be featured together in a DJ's live set, but this show is intended to feature various styles of electronic/dance music. I pay a lot of attention to the programming, and to the development of energy levels. If you're a first-time listener, you might think that the start of the show is quite tame, on the slower and "deeper" side of house or techno. However, give it time. Pay attention to how the styles change throughout the mix, and how the energy builds. Sometimes, I'll be very erratic and jump around between several genres, just for fun. Sometimes, I'll do a particularly dark show, with a heavy emphasis on techno. Most of the time however, you'll find a mix of mostly deep house or minimal or deep techno for the first third of the mix, building into a more upbeat section of tech-house through the middle, perhaps building up to some energetic tracks at the end, which often trespass into the realm of more contemporary house. Don't treat the show as a collection of individual tracks ... think of it as a cohesive experience; an hour-long aural journey of reflection and beats. For Feels Like... episode 53 we got the very talanted Nikki Pryke to give us her vision of the underground sound of the world!Nikki Pryke has been an active and passionate force in the Stockholm nightlife since 2004. Playing at locally and abroad at well-respected venues, running numerous club nights as well as warming up the decks for some of the greatest. This has made Nikki an experienced and technically skilled dj who knows how to rock the crowd with groove and heart.She is currently running the strong-visioned label “Envelope Audio” together with partner in crime Victoria Koulaeva, with the first release featuring Alland Byallo and Fjäder due in March 2017. This time Moon Harbour Radio host Dan Drastic invites Maximiljan who lives in Amsterdam but actually is a German from the city of Neuss. dattrax: For me house music is an escape vehicle from the things that don't excite me about my life or stresses me out, so in those pockets of time that I spend related to house/ DJing, I enjoy it that much more. House Music is therapeutic in that it relaxes me. Other guys love sports, or are zoned out to TV. I don't care for that stuff. Imprinted, MixOne and Two are filled with tracks bought from Beatport.com. Techy, minimal, but still funky with fat house basslines and crisp high hats. Very little vocals on these two mixes aside from the dubby vocal washes and tracks with repetitive one liners. Or I could be wrong, less than usual, I should say. I love vocals laced into cool house instrumentals, because I don't believe you remember an hour of pounding tech and minimal house by itself. I am not criticizing, don't misunderstand. I love listening to top techhouse DJs like Alland Byallo and have a ton of tech and minimal house. But if they were layered with hot vocals, then the tech and minimal house will invigorate the vocals, making them that much better and exciting, and the vocals will imprint a positive memory of the mix into the listener's minds. That's why you can play one bar of a classic house track and the HouseHeadz will start singing. HOUSE KARAOKE. No one remembers a instrumental. People don't ask DJs: "What's that song that goes BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, WAHHH, DUCKP, UMPH???" They don't ask because they don't care. I love the feel of this mix. Charging and aggressive without being annoying/ irritating. You don't have to play hard and abrasive music to have a harder feel. continued next mix...
