Rob More is a DJ and producer who thrives on one key principle: connecting with the people. His DJ sets go beyond simply curating the right music—they're about reading the crowd, creating the perfect vibe, and keeping everyone moving. With releases on respected labels such as Stereo Productions, Xima Records, HoTL Records, Made in Miami, and many more, Rob More has earned recognition from tastemakers around the world for his distinctive sound. As a producer, he brings that same dynamic energy to his tracks, using his music to tell stories that transcend the dance floor. While his productions are crafted to move people, each track carries an emotional depth and narrative that goes beyond just rhythm and bass. Rooted in House music, Rob's sound spans a wide range of styles—tech-house, progressive beats, and even downtempo and experimental sounds. His genreblurring approach allows him to explore the full spectrum of electronic music while staying true to the groove and soul. Tune into this week's episode hosted by Austrian DJ and producer MEGABLAST. SASCHA WEISZ, aka Megablast, has been making musical waves for some time now with his unique, eclectic take on contemporary electronic music, a very personal, genre-crossing interpretation of house, afro, Latin, dub, trippy techno, and world beats. His range and ability to enchant the dance floors with percussionists and vocalists make him one of the most impressive and distinct artists in the industry. Since his early career in Vienna, where he gained international attention 2006 with the album “Kunuaka” by Makossa & Megablast on Kruder & Dorfmeister's G-Stone label and more recently from his new home base in the north of Ibiza, he has played at some of the most iconic events and venues all over the world, such as Scorpios Mykonos, Caprices Festival Crans-Montana, Ushuaia, Pablo Fierro's “We're Here” at Chinois (formerly Heart), Lio, Blue Marlin, Akasha, Cova Santa Ibiza, Soho Garden Dubai, Vagalume Tulum, Annabel's London amongst many others. With his releases on labels like Sol Selctas, Flying Circus, Madorasindahouse, International Deejay Gigolos, !K7 and his very own Luvlite Recordings as well as having his tracks remixed by influential producers like DJ Koze, Acid Pauli, Lucia- no, Booka Shade, Jenia Tarsol, Chaim, SadoV (Red Axes), Stereo MCs and Henrik Schwarz, he clearly demonstrates his musical repertoire and unlimited love for different genres. “As an artist and music producer, it's important for me to keep the freedom from any genres and not let others put me in a specific category,” he says. “Be yourself, don't try to be someone else, and be okay with failing sometimes—these experiences make you who you are today. Focus on quality over quantity and don't believe the hype.” Enjoy this Eclectic Journey with MEGABLAST on Redolent! 01. Makossa & Megablast - Like A Rocket (2005) 02. Mary Asaba, artistically known as ASABA, is a female Cameroonian Afrosoul/Afropop singer, songwriter, and state registered nurse. Her music is soulful Afropop, with clear influences from Makossa and Njang. As a State Registered Nurse, she came into music by doing backing vocals for top Cameroonian acts such as Daphne, Mr. Leo, Salatiel, etc. In 2020, she got signed to Starfish Entertainment which launched her career as a lead performing artist with the release of her single Yele, and since then has released a couple of singles and her first official EP in 2022 titled ”LIGHTER”, which featured acts such as Mr. Leo, Mic Monsta, Locko, Kameni and Cleo Grae. Her biggest challenge growing up as a young girl was insecurity, not feeling beautiful enough in her own skin and it limited her passion and drive. Music became her safe haven and her voice. Through music, she aims to be that voice that reaches out to people, be their strength, hope, and comfort, and encourages them to embrace themselves in whatever form, shape, and size. Dans ce 4ème épisode de notre semaine consacrée au Cameroun, nous allons remonter le temps jusqu'à l'époque où le Makossa était tout puissant au Cameroun, en Afrique, en Europe et jusqu'aux Antilles. It's an all-music episode! Senseless Optimism of Boston joins me to catch up on all that's happened since we last spoke, and believe me, a lot has happened! The singer-songwriter released the new single "Done" on Oct. 7 with a brilliant music video shortly afterward. She's also been nominated in the Boston Music Awards and New England Music Awards, taking home multiple titles in the latter. We talk about the new sound and what went into it as well as her planning for the music video. After this, enjoy the new single, which incorporates music of her West African roots, most notably elements of Soukous and Makossa. Following that, Canada-based band Selfish Bodies and I dive into their origin in early 2018 and how their style changed as the lineup shifted. We talk about their plans as a band and how those had to change when COVID hit, and how they've gotten back into the flow as things reopened. To close things out, we've got their recent release, “Bambi Legs.”

Hello Language Lovers! Thank you for joining me for this episode of Speaking Tongues- the podcast in conversation with multilinguals. This week, I'm joined by Diane and Epée, architects and coauthors of The African Dwelling: From Traditional to Western Style Homes about their languages of Duala and Abo. Diane and Epée are both polyglots with many languages spoken between them and this was an exciting conversation for me to hear them switch so effortlessly between several of them. In this episode Epée explains naming traditions in Duala and how he was given his names - and several other names he has been called throughout his life. We learn the similarities and differences between Duala and Abo which other language Abo has more in common with. We learn about the grammar of Duala and even how communication happens using the slit drum and whistles – and why these practices are fading. We learn about cultural celebrations taking place on a disappearing island, we explore Camfranglais and Cameroonian Pidgin and the beauty of the dynamic musical genre of Makossa. Stay tuned to hear about what happened with Diane met Manu Dibango and to get a lesson in Duala tonality at the end of this episode. Big thank you to Diane and Epée for this conversation and for your work in documenting Duala language and African vernacular architecture. In episode 22, I interview my dear friend and musical collaborator, AWU Sing Song. AWU is a budding music superstar from Cameroon, Africa. But before AWU was making hit singles like "YaYaYo" and "If A Can, Can", we collaborated on "Change The World", a song, video, and album project created to uplift, educate, and inspire humanity to make a positive change in the world. In our interview, AWU and I share the story of how we met in Cameroon back in 2012, and the divinely guided steps that led us to create "Change The World". AWU also shares about his various musical projects since then, as well as what it's like to be an independent artist trying to finance your own musical productions. If you are listening to this podcast prior to 1/24/2021, I am currently running a Kickstarter campaign to fund my new album,"Created Noble", which centers on my experiences as a husband, father, and contributor to the betterment of the world, through the lens of the virtue of nobility.
