Up to 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage. A fact that's hard to hear, but for a lot of women (myself included) it's even harder to experience it. As an Angel Mama, Danielle Nicole founded Tiny Hearts Remembered, Inc after a tragic loss. Through her pain Danielle discovered purpose and vision. Danielle knew what it felt like and what other women needed to help them navigate through such a difficult time. This non-profit was BIRTHED with the love, tenderness, care and strength. Please visit her website below for the private groups, programs and merchandise to help you or someone you know navigate this journey if needed. “To me pink represents the love I will always have for my angel. Being in the music ecosystem provides loads of opportunity for serendipity. Making a connection with newcomer songwriter Henry Conlon is a case in point. A fellow KKFI colleague had been contacted by Conlon's team looking for on air opportunities in support of an opening slot Henry had at a recent Sundown Concert Series featuring Kansas City's own Casi Joy and Danielle Nicole. I reached out to Henry offering a spot with the understanding it was a Pledge Drive Show and I would be asking him to assist in pitching for donations. He was all in. He began writing songs in high school playing coffee houses and the occasional open mic. As time went on, he began to grow a small but loyal fanbase in the northeast and eventually cut an album of original songs at Dirt Floor Records. Since releasing his first album, Henry has moved to Nashville where he has been writing and performing nearly every night of the week, embedding himself into the songwriter scene. Conlon has had a variety of cuts with artists such as Zachary Scott Kline and Madeline Finn. His song “Reckless Love” released by John Hollier in 2022, placed on the Americana Radio charts. In May of 2022 he had the opportunity to open for Whitey Morgan and Jesse Daniel at the Bandit Town festival in Manor Texas and for Old Crow Medicine Show and Billy Joel as a part of the Greenwich Town Party, an annual festival in Greenwich Connecticut. Enjoy the conversation and in studio performance with Henry Conlon.
In episode #144, Danielle shares her personal story of loss. Danielle experienced the miscarriage of her first pregnancy at home, around 9 weeks gestation. She found out (years later) that her loss was related to a blighted ovum, and since this time in 2016 she has experienced several other setbacks including a burst cyst and fibroids. Based on her wants and needs following her miscarriage, Danielle founded Tiny Hearts Remembered - a nonprofit organization with the mission of decreasing the negative effects of pregnancy loss. We discuss the importance of education, support, and advocacy related to pregnancy loss, as well as how the medical response to miscarriage can create feelings of loneliness and confusion. Topics Discussed: loss of first pregnancy, high HCG levels, spotting, pain in early pregnancy, miscarriage at home, blighted ovum, nightmares, March of Dimes, LEEP procedure (Loop electrosurgical excision procedure), burst cyst, fibroids, memorializing miscarriage CONNECT WITH DANIELLE - www.tinyheartsrememberedinc.org instagram.com/tinyheartsrememberedinc https://www.facebook.com/TinyHeartsRememberedInc Tiny Hearts Remembered has a Facebook group and hosts a support group once/month. https://www.facebook.com/groups/2063146947143423 MISCARRIAGE HOPE DESK RESOURCES- Miscarriage Hope Desk aims to help women struggling miscarriage, pregnancy loss and recurrent miscarriages (RPL), by providing the following resources- Library of Articles, found here- https://miscarriagehopedesk.com/library/understanding-why/ Instagram Community- https://instagram.com/miscarriagehopedesk Facebook Community- https://www.facebook.com/groups/1617075958466247/ Free Miscarriage Lab Checklist- https://miscarriagehopedesk.com/labs Free Weekly Newsletter- http://miscarriagehopedesk.com/newsletter FREE MEAL PLANS Do you need help getting healthy, tasty meals on the table? If you've ever driven on Interstate 8 in El Cajon, California then chances are you've crossed over the Danielle Nicole van Dam Memorial Overpass. This bridge is located near the location where Danielles body was found back on February 27, 2002, twenty-five days after her parents discovered she was missing. The 7-year old was taken from inside her own home and the details of this case are terrifying on many different levels.

This week Claire Hinkle is my guest this week and she really impressed me last week at 81 Club at Billy Bob's Teas when she opened the show for Danielle Nicole. And yes, she is the daughter of James Hinkle for all you fans of his soulful music. Claire has a voice that's cuts straight to you soul that reminds me a bit of my two fav Bonnie's, Raitt and Bishop. Check out her show at Lola's in Ft. Worth Sept 2nd full band , and on Sundays at Oscars Pub on 2-5pm every other Sunday. Originally aired 08/14/2022 on 95.3 FM KYHI the Range in Dallas, TX.
Dusty Grant is an independent singer/songwriter based out of Wichita, KS. Grant has been writing, recording, and performing original music in bands and as a solo artist for over 20 years. Drawing influences from metal, rock, grunge, and country Grant delivers his own brand of Dark Rock. Fans of Alice In Chains, Stone Sour, and Daughtry are certain to love Grant's style. In 2017, Grant began touring and playing small clubs as a solo acoustic act. In his short time as a solo artist, Grant kept up a brisk pace releasing 11 of his own original songs and playing 40+ shows per year. As interest in his music and performances grew across the region, in addition to booking additional solo acoustic gigs, Grant started to get interest from promoters to play larger stages with a full-band accompaniment. It was in 2021 that Grant added friends and fellow musicians Jason Catlett (Lead Guitar), Bwana Villa (Vocals), Shane Harper (Drums) & Chris McNutt (Bass). With a new, full-on rock sound, the band lit the regional scene ablaze opening for national acts like Daughtry, Candlebox, Black Stone Cherry, Danielle Nicole, and Blacktop Mojo. On April 8th of 2022 Grant released his first full-band single "Oceans" written and produced with friend Jason Catlett. This track was recorded by acclaimed hard rock producer Chris Dawson (SAUL, Any Given Sin, Seasons After). Grant also has plans to continue building his touring and live performance resume with shows already booked and more on the way. Keep your eyes peeled for new releases and show announcements coming VERY SOON!!! It's hard to imagine a better Roadhouse hour to end the year. In with the usual assortment of holiday tracks, I've got some outstanding blues artists and their wares. Thorbjørn Risager & The Black Tornado, The Old No. 5s, Danielle Nicole, John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers, and Tony Holiday set the stage for the hour. Let's end the year with a bang - the kind of bang that can only be another hour of the finest blues you've never heard.
In today's episode, we talk with Danielle Nicole Reddick, an angel mama who founded a non-profit organisation to support those who experienced a pregnancy or infant loss. This is far more common than most of us think, with an estimated 1 in 8 pregnancies ending in miscarriage. We will discuss how to overcome the psychological hurdles that inevitably come from experiencing it, how we can support someone who is going through that life experience and learn everything about the organisation she founded including how we can all contribute to it. Fact: 1 in 4 women will lose a baby during pregnancy, delivery or infancy. A fact that is hard to hear, but for a lot of women (myself included) it's even harder to experience. As an Angel Mama, Danielle Nicole founded Tiny Hearts Remembered, Inc after the tragic loss of having a miscarriage. Through her pain Danielle discovered purpose and vision. Danielle knew what it felt like and what other women needed to help them navigate through such a difficult time. To choose my words carefully -This non-profit was BIRTHED with the love, tenderness, care and strength that only a loving mother can give. Please visit her website below for the private groups, programs and merchandise to help you or someone you know navigate this journey if needed. “To me pink represents the love I will always have for my angel. To me blue represents the healing power of God through my journey. To me white represents the enlightenment of Pregnancy and Infant Loss. Healing does not mean forgetting.
