Today we go outside the norm with my guest who is not an improv actor or a magician. But he's someone I admire tremendously. He's my best friend of 30 years, he is Jose Prendes. Jose is a director, writer, and producer of various films that include The Monster Man, Corpses Are Forever, The Haunting of Whaley House, Mega Shark vs. Mecha Shark, Unspeakable Horrors: The Plan 9 Conspiracy, The Legend of La Llorona, and the Headless Horseman. His latest film is called The Exorcists, which he wrote and directed with an amazing cast that includes Kayla Fields, Denice Duff, Victor Maraña, and Doug Bradley (Pinhead from the Hellraiser movies). In The Exorcists, Jose managed to do the impossible: shoot an entire movie in just 6 days! Jose Prendes is also an author, and his books include The Harbinger, Sharks of the Living Dead, Viewer Beware – The Goosebumps TV Companion, The Are You Afraid of the Dark Campfire Companion, Sharkcano, and Elementary, My Dear Watson #1 - The Astounding Adventure of the Ancient Dragon. Movies are in this man's DNA, and he has a strong passion and love for making films that people will enjoy and remember. In our conversation, we talk about how movies have always played a big role in his life, and he also shares very honestly his enjoyments and frustrations with becoming a director. I am proud to call this man my friend, and I'm especially proud to share our conversation with you today. The Exorcists is available to buy or rent on Apple TV, Vudu, and Amazon Prime Video. Visit IMDB.com for a full list of Jose's movies, and goodreads.com for a full list of his books.

Song of Blades and Heroes is a cult classic miniature agnostic fantasy skirmish ruleset. It's an incredibly simple game to pick and up learn, with a low barrier to entry (you only need a handful of miniatures). Despite its simplicity though it isn't a game that quickly feels limiting or boring. There's a lot you can do with it, from the varied warbands you can build to the scenarios and campaigns you can play through. On this episode of the Tabletop Miniature Hobby Podcast, we take a deep dive into the Song of Blades and Heroes rules. We talk through the Quality and Combat stats, before covering all the core mechanics around moving, fighting, shooting, magic, and, of course, running away. Games typically last 30-45 minutes and there's no bookkeeping either. This makes SBH a great game for beginners to start having fun with right away. We talk a bit about a game we played recently where a classic Chaos alliance (the Oldhammer type where Orcs and Goblins got in on the act) took on an undead "force". The undead were actually far from what you might call a force and generally hung about in their deployment zone doing not very much at all. In any case, it was a fun afternoon and lessons were learned. In our next game of Song of Blades and Heroes, we'll be finding out if one Ancient Dragon can come out on top against 85 zombies. The answer is probably yes. Elsewhere on the podcast, we talked about the return of HeroQuest and why we might just opt to play Dungeon Saga instead. Here are some follow-up resources for you, too:Miniature Agnostic RulesetsSimple Tabletop WargamesSong of Chaos & Vengeance: A Solo CampaignThanks very much for listening, and please take a moment to subscribe to this show on your listening app of choice – that way you'll never miss a future episode!
There are some D&D life lessons you pick up during a long running campaign, don't split the party, don't one vs one the boss, and don't antagonise the Ancient Dragon.
The Good Guys have gotten in to deep. Can they stop Sem? Will an ancient evil be unleashed?
Our players managed to run across a Ancient Dragon last we seen them, but as fate would have it not all is as it seems. There are things a foot that have changed the course of destiny for both our players and the inhabitants of the world they live in. But fate is also a funny thing in that it is like a two sided coin. On the one hand, fate can be a positive aspect to a person. While on the other hand, fate can show its darker nature and prove that maybe things are more f**ked up than we were led to believe. Kana has felled Endokarr's risen skeletal form, and Hardback has forced Aldek, the Abishai, to dance; but Feth'raza'al continues to slam the Deadites with arcane bolts from her Throne, even as Dailen is continuously spell-thwarted by Windsgar. With each second that passes, more and more allies fall to the hordes of Demons in the Blightlands. Meanwhile, Traze and Kiirtra chased after Skythrax, only to find themselves face to face with the Ancient Dragon himself.
