Odišiel, hoci nevedel, kam ide. 9 Na základe viery sa usadil v prisľúbenej zemi ako v cudzej a býval v stanoch s Izákom a Jákobom, spoludedičmi toho istého prisľúbenia. 10 Očakával totiž mesto s pevnými základmi, ktorého tvorcom a staviteľom je Boh. 11 Vo viere aj neplodná Sára dostala silu počať potomka, hoci už prešiel jej čas, lebo pokladala za verného toho, čo jej dal prisľúbenie. 12 A tak z jedného muža, ktorého sila odumrela, sa narodilo také množstvo potomkov, ako je hviezd na nebi a piesku na morskom brehu, ktorý sa nedá spočítať. 13 Títo všetci umierali vo viere, aj keď nedosiahli to, čo bolo prisľúbené, ale iba z diaľky to videli a pozdravovali. Vyznávali, že sú na zemi cudzincami a pútnikmi. 14 Tí, čo takto hovoria, naznačujú, že hľadajú vlasť. 15 Keby totiž mysleli na tú, z ktorej vyšli, boli by mali dosť času vrátiť sa. 16 Teraz však túžia po lepšej, čiže po nebeskej. Preto sa ani Boh nehanbí volať sa ich Bohom, veď im pripravil mesto. 17 Vo viere Abrahám obetoval Izáka, keď bol skúšaný, a jednorodeného prinášal ako obetu ten, ktorý dostal prisľúbenia 18 a ktorému bolo povedané: Po Izákovi sa bude volať tvoje potomstvo. 19 Usudzoval totiž, že Boh má moc vzkriesiť aj mŕtvych. Preto dostal Izáka naspäť aj ako predobraz vzkriesenia. 20 Vo viere Izák požehnal Jákoba a Ezáva v pohľade do budúcnosti. 21 Vo viere Jákob, keď umieral, požehnal každého z Jozefových synov a poklonil sa opretý o vrch svojej palice. 22 Vo viere Jozef, keď zomieral, hovoril o odchode synov Izraela a pripomenul im, čo majú urobiť s jeho kosťami. Nebeský kus zeme. Abrahám, Izák, Jákob, Jozef – to sú ďalšie zvučné mená nielen pre Izraelcov, ale aj pre nás, kresťanov. Sú príkladom skutočnej viery, ktorá sa nespolieha na seba, ale na Božie zasľúbenia. Abrahámovi sľúbil Boh, že bude vlastniť kanaánsku krajinu. Kus zeme. No Abrahám žil napriek tomu v stanoch. Bol pútnikom a jediný kus zeme, ktorý si v Kanaáne kúpil, bol hrob pre jeho manželku Sáru. Čím to bolo, že aj keď mal na Kanaán nárok, lebo mu ho sľúbil sám Boh, predsa len bol na zem upätý len veľmi málo? Pretože on svoju nádej upínal k mestu, ktorého Staviteľom je Pán Boh. Nebeské mesto – nový Jeruzalem – to je ten najlepší podiel, kus zeme, po ktorom túžil nielen Abrahám, ale aj jeho potomkovia – a po ktorom by sme mali zo všetkého najviac túžiť aj my. Nie po pominuteľnom svete, ale po tom v nebesiach, v Božom meste. Toto pôsobí viera v Pána Ježiša Krista dnes v našom srdci. Toto pôsobila viera v srdci praotcov Izraela. Čo pôsobí tvoja viera? Máš svoj nebeský kus zeme? Modlitba: Pane Bože, ďakujem Ti, že si aj pre mňa pripravil miesto, kus zeme v Tvojom nebeskom meste! Ďakujem za všetky príklady skutočnej viery, ktorá sa spolieha na Teba! She had an health ailment earlier this year that was serious enough for her to stop recording episodes of Detective Conan in February. The long-time voice of Ran and her experience in the voice acting industry was a huge loss, and from her Conan castmates and staff to other talents across different industries, her impact was notable and will be sorely missed. Akemi Okamura, who voiced the character since March 14 while Yamazaki was undergoing medical treatment, will now take over the role of Ran moving forward. Er zijn van die momenten in de Schrift waarop je merkt dat God niet begint bij het centrum, maar bij de rand. Niet bij de vanzelfsprekenden, maar bij de vreemdelingen. Niet bij degenen die al binnen zijn, maar bij degenen die onderweg zijn, zoekend, tastend, luisterend naar een stem die hen roept. Wanneer we nadenken over toetreding tot de gemeente, over wat het betekent om deel te worden van het volk van God, dan komen drie verhalen naar voren die als een drieluik naast elkaar kunnen staan: de roeping van Abraham, de keuze van Ruth en de doop van de Ethiopiër. Drie mensen die niet passen in de categorie “wij horen hier van nature thuis”, maar die juist laten zien dat het volk van God bestaat uit mensen die vreemdeling zijn — en die juist daarom door God worden binnengehaald. Abraham is de eerste. Hij wordt geroepen om weg te gaan uit zijn land, zijn familie, zijn vertrouwde wereld. Hij wordt geroepen om vreemdeling te worden. Zijn identiteit wordt niet langer bepaald door waar hij vandaan komt, maar door de stem die hem roept. Hij weet niet waar hij uitkomt, maar hij weet Wie hem leidt. En zo wordt hij de vader van een volk dat zelf voortdurend vreemdeling zal zijn: in Kanaän, in Egypte, in de woestijn, in ballingschap. De wortel van het geloof ligt niet in bezit, maar in beweging. Niet in zekerheid, maar in vertrouwen. Niet in grenzen, maar in roeping. Abraham is de eerste vreemdeling in een lange rij van mensen die God niet roept omdat ze ergens thuishoren, maar omdat Hij hen een thuis wil geven. Ruth laat zien dat vreemdelingschap niet alleen iets is wat je overkomt, maar ook iets wat je kiest. Zij is een Moabitische vrouw, iemand die volgens de regels en tradities van Israël nooit vanzelfsprekend zou worden opgenomen. En toch spreekt zij woorden die misschien wel de meest radicale belijdenis van toetreding zijn in de hele Bijbel: uw volk is mijn volk, uw God is mijn God. Zij kiest ervoor om vreemdeling te zijn, om haar eigen land en goden achter te laten, om zich te verbinden aan een volk dat haar niet vanzelfsprekend zal ontvangen. En juist zij wordt opgenomen in de lijn van David, en uiteindelijk in de lijn van Jezus. De vreemdeling wordt drager van de belofte. De buitenstaander wordt binnenste. De rand wordt centrum. En dan is er de Ethiopiër in Handelingen. Een man van aanzien, maar ook iemand die aan de rand staat: geografisch, etnisch, religieus en zelfs lichamelijk. Hij leest Jesaja, maar begrijpt het niet. Hij zoekt, maar vindt de weg niet. Totdat Filippus naast hem gaat zitten. Niet boven hem, niet tegenover hem, maar naast hem. En in dat eenvoudige gebaar van nabijheid wordt het evangelie geopend. De Ethiopiër stelt de vraag die elke vreemdeling stelt wanneer hij de drempel van de gemeente nadert: wat verhindert mij? En het antwoord van de kerk is het antwoord van het evangelie zelf: niets. De weg is open. De vreemdeling wordt broeder. En hij gaat zijn weg met blijdschap. Wanneer je deze drie verhalen samen leest, ontstaat een beeld van de gemeente dat haaks staat op elke vorm van geslotenheid. De gemeente is geen erfgoed dat moet worden bewaakt, maar een huis dat voortdurend wordt uitgebreid. Geen vesting, maar een tent. Geen etnische of culturele eenheid, maar een gemeenschap van mensen die door God zijn geroepen, door liefde zijn getrokken en door genade zijn ontvangen. De identiteit van de gemeente ligt niet in wie wij waren, maar in wie wij worden door de roepstem van God. Wij zijn geen gemeenschap van mensen die er vanzelfsprekend bij horen, maar van mensen die onderweg zijn, die vreemdeling zijn, die geroepen zijn om anderen te ontvangen zoals wij zelf ontvangen zijn. En misschien is dat wel de diepste waarheid van het evangelie: dat God niet begint bij de mensen die denken dat ze binnen zijn, maar bij de mensen die weten dat ze buiten staan. Dat Hij niet zoekt naar zekerheid, maar naar openheid. Niet naar afkomst, maar naar verlangen. Niet naar bezit, maar naar vertrouwen. Abraham, Ruth en de Ethiopiër laten zien dat toetreding tot het volk van God geen administratieve handeling is, maar een geestelijke geboorte. Een nieuwe identiteit die niet wordt bepaald door waar je vandaan komt, maar door Wie je roept. En daarom is de gemeente een gemeenschap van vreemdelingen. Mensen die weten dat ze niet leven van hun eigen vanzelfsprekendheid, maar van Gods genade. Mensen die geroepen zijn om anderen te ontvangen zoals zij zelf ontvangen zijn. Mensen die weten dat het evangelie begint aan de rand, bij de vreemdeling, bij degene die vraagt: wat verhindert mij? En dat het antwoord van de kerk altijd moet zijn: niets. Born in 1926, Wajda was a clear-eyed and sensitive chronicler of Polish history, literature and culture in a film career spanning more than 65 years. He is probably best known for his war trilogy of the mid to late 1950s - A Generation (1955), Kanał (1957) and Ashes and Diamonds (1958) - politically-committed, formally daring films which chronicled Polish experience of WWII and its aftermath. Joining Pasquale to discuss Wajda is film scholar, critic and programmer Michał Oleszczyk. Based in Warsaw, Michał has written extensively on Wajda and earlier this year he programmed a special strand for the Kinoteka Polish Festival focusing on the artistic kinship between Wajda and one of his former assistants Andrzej Żuławski. Michał also contributed to a major Wajda season at BFI Southbank.Michał and Pasquale position Wajda in the context of post-war Polish cinema, they look at the three films in his war trilogy and they also explore some of his later features, including one lesser-known title starring Sir John Gielgud that was in Ingmar Bergman's Top 10 Films of All Time.
