Hanne Hagenaars is curator en auteur. Ze is initiatiefnemer van het tijdschrift ‘The Dummy Speaks', een tijdschrift voor jongeren over beeldende kunst en van het (online) kunst magazine ‘Mister Motley', waarvan ze ook negen jaar hoofdredacteur is geweest.  Ondertussen publiceerde ze in 2006 haar eerste boek ‘Geen wolk, hoe kunst mijn leven redde'. Later maakte ze meerdere tentoonstellingen, waaronder ‘Be Calm' in het CBK.  In 2023 scheef ze haar tweede boek ‘Missen als een ronde vorm' en nu presenteert het Stedelijk Museum Schiedam een tentoonstelling ‘Missen als een ronde vorm. De kunst van het doorleven', geïnspireerd op Hagenaars boek. Er zijn werken van meer dan 30 internationale kunstenaars te zien, die gaan over verlies, gemis en hoe je je dierbaren dicht bij je houdt.
