The Moms Changing the World podcast is an incredible show that offers listeners an abundance of insights, wisdom, and love. As a dedicated listener, I am incredibly grateful for the valuable content that is consistently delivered in each episode. The host, Ekua Walker, does a remarkable job of making the information shared relatable and relevant. Her calm and soothing voice adds to the overall experience of listening to this podcast. This show has truly inspired me to make a positive impact on the lives of children both in my own life and those around me. Ekua's role as the "chief encouragement officer" is evident throughout each episode and her dedication to empowering mothers is commendable.

One of the best aspects of this podcast is the practicality and actionability of the tips provided. Each episode offers tangible advice that can be implemented immediately, making it valuable for listeners seeking real-life solutions to various parenting challenges. For example, when my daughter was experiencing skin issues, I learned about Vanicream through an episode where another mom discussed its effectiveness. I purchased the cream and saw significant improvements in my daughter's skin within a week. This kind of practical advice sets this podcast apart from others in its genre.

Another standout aspect of this podcast is the range of topics and diverse range of guests that Ekua interviews. From discussing grief and healing after stillbirth and infant loss to addressing homeschooling strategies, this show covers a wide spectrum of important topics related to motherhood. The variety allows listeners to gain different perspectives and learn from individuals with unique experiences. Additionally, having guests from various countries within the African diaspora adds cultural insight that enriches each conversation.

While there aren't any glaring negative aspects to this podcast, some listeners might prefer more frequent episodes or longer episodes with deeper dives into certain topics. However, it's important to note that quality over quantity is clearly prioritized by Ekua in order to provide valuable content.

In conclusion, The Moms Changing the World podcast is a must-listen for anyone involved in the lives of children. Ekua Walker's passion for empowering mothers and her ability to engage with guests make this show both informative and inspiring. The practical tips, relatable content, and diverse range of topics covered set it apart from other parenting podcasts. I highly recommend subscribing to this podcast and embarking on a journey towards positive change in the lives of children.

I had so much fun interviewing Cat and Nat awhile back that I am glad to share it with you now as we start summer.CATHERINE BELKNAP and NATALIE TELFER have been friends since they were teens but grew closer with motherhood when they chose to confide in each other about the more taboo topics of parenting. It wasn't long after that when they decided to bring the conversation online in hopes of helping other moms feel less isolated. Their rapidly exploding community of like-minded moms tune in every day to watch them rewrite the paradigm of “the perfect mom.” When they felt there was no safe space for moms to be themselves, no confidante to turn to without losing prized relationship-. Cat & Nat decided to change this. With seven children between them, the duo has been through it all, and in Mom Secrets (released 3/29/22)—the follow-up to their nationally bestselling Mom Truths—they've invited the legion of moms who love them to share their own darkest parenting secrets, and use those to kick off their own stories, going deeper about big topics like guilt, balancing career with motherhood, and body image. Mom Secrets cover confessions such as:Being a single parent without friendsFantasizing about running awayWhat to do when kids take parents' "toys" to schooland much more...Check out clips from their appearances on The Today Show, GMA Strahan & Sara ‘Momfessions', TIDE pods commercial, and others.CAT & NAT'S MOM SECRETS: Coffee-Fueled Confessions from the Mom Trenchesby Catherine Belknap & Natalie TelferPraise for Cat and Nat's Mom Truths: “What do new mothers need the most? Sleep, for one. But after sleep, they need good friends, people to let them know they aren't alone in this strange new world they are navigating. Enter Catherine Belknap and Natalie Telfer ... Their new book is funny, honest, and encouraging.” —New York Post“Accept the chaos, embrace the mom bod and stress less about germs, among other things. That's courtesy of Catherine Belknap and Natalie Telfer, friends from high school who reconnected as first-time mothers. Like going to the spa to help you reconnect with self-love, and self-compassion and help you find more joy in life, and motherhood again. One of those incredible moms is today's Mom Changing the World guest.Veronica Hunter had a variety of experiences before kids - patented R&D scientist, chemistry teacher, Quality Assurance specialist, and IT project manager in the biotech industry. Yet, her experiences with her own 4 neurodiverse kids opened a new world of passion. Navigating the worlds of ADHD, anxiety, and dyslexia she wanted to understand deeply what is going for kids, and more importantly how to support them. It took 4 years to put the picture together, and she helps other families smooth their road and save time, money, and frustration by quickly connecting them to the help they need to grow their happy and healthy family! She once saw a mom post on FaceBook, “My child was diagnosed with ADHD, what now?” When the answer from other parents was, “Start your research.” She knew we needed a better answer. So, she put together the virtual event ADHD - What Now? and seeing the response to the 20+ experts she had gathered, she saw just how many parents needed this big picture of options to streamline their progress. Now Veronica's the founder of ADHD- What Now? (www.whatnowADHD.com) and helps parents make their unique ADHD Action Plan for their child and then helps them dive deep into questions to support their unique neurodiverse kids.  Website: ADHD What Now (whatnowadhd.com)Facebook Group for Parents: Child with ADHD - What Now? | FacebookFacebook: Veronica Hunter - ADHD, What Now? | FacebookInstagram: InstagramPutting Mama First Summit: https://retreat.puttingmamafirst.com/EkuaHost Ekua Walker, Peds NP, parent coach and C.E.O. - Chief Encouragement OfficerHost of Www.MomsChangingtheWorld.orgFacebook - Moms Changing The World

With the holiday season in full swing, we spotlight an author mom to consider "At the Right Time" childrens book for the young children on your Christmas list. My friend from years back, Michelle Forrest, is a former preschool teacher turned Family Lawyer and now adds Author to her titles. After graduating from Stanford University with a B.S. in biology and a minor in psychology, Michelle taught at Bing Nursery School for five years. There she was immersed in the world of young children and cultivated her passion for early childhood education and child development. As a teacher, Michelle personally witnessed the positive impact of prosocial language on both a child's ability to navigate social settings and also a child's development of self and confidence. Following her time in education, Michelle returned to school, obtained her J.D. from Santa Clara University, and began her career working as a family law attorney to assist and support families going through difficult circumstances.  After having her first child, Michelle learned the power of children's books to teach children and assist adults in parenting. As she endeavored to raise a confident and empowered daughter, Michelle began to write a children's book while she developed her ideas about using language to further prosocial behavior. Her first book, At the Right Time, was published in 2020 and is now available. Rachel Asvitt, the illustrator, was Michelle's first friend, whom she met at Bing Nursery School as a child.  At the Right Time depicts cute animal friends using key prosocial phrases helpful for children to learn to share, join in friends' play, take turns, and wait for a turn – all important life skills for young children to know in social settings they often encounter, like school and the playground. The book also emphasizes that behaviors have a “right” or appropriate time in order to assist adults in teaching their children about context.  Language empowers. Michelle's sincere hope is that At the Right Time will assist families in learning to adopt respectful language that positively develops children's self-concept, sense of self, and place in this universe. To order her book, email mikifo@gmail.com or ittybugpress@gmail.com.Join Ekua and 40 other leaders in ADHD and social emotional learning at Calming the ADHD Family Summit - March, 21-28, 2022. My guest today, Nell Triplett, is a Californian who has been able to raise her two young children in Denmark, in addition to calling the Bay Area home. She is one of the "Baby Mom" friends I met at a Mommy Yoga class when my youngest was weeks old, and the friendship stuck as we found our way through early motherhood. Even when years go by, we pick up right where we left off, have more than a few laughs and keep "momming" together. Listen in to hear why and how she navigated an international move with two kids under 4yo, why family meals are "sacred" times for her family, and how she picked a school for her children that is pioneering the way in social justice education!Nell is a sustainability professional and mother of two living in the San Francisco Bay Area but joining us for today from just outside of Copenhagen, Denmark. Today, we talk about healing, but not just in the traditional way. My guest healed herself from Lupus and shares how that journey in the course of becoming a mother, changed her whole life. Jamie Lynn Guyden, MD is a medical doctor who finally awakened after a thirty-year slumber. She is a New Jersey native whose medical career began in Houston, TX immersed in the conventional medical model. For 10+ years she believed and taught the 'you are broken and need to fixed biochemically' model of medicine. Her career took a drastic turn in 2010 as her personal health journey compelled her to reevaluate her professional interests and ultimately re-write her story. Her then 18-year struggle with Systemic Lupus had become overwhelming and unacceptable. She began to broaden her scope of understanding about her body, seeking out holistic and alternative care that would lead to life-altering physical changes to her body, heart and mind. Dr. Guyden no longer has a relationship with Lupus, medication, disease or mainstream medical intervention as she no longer resonates at that frequency. She has since made it her life's passion to share what she has learned about healing and wellness with anyone who will listen. She now knows that our physical bodies are perfect, whole miracles that possess innate wisdom and intelligence for self-healing and repair.  Dr. Guyden resides in Austin, Texas with her husband, Alexander and daughters, Aria and Jayla. She leads an active lifestyle and enjoys daily meditation as well as connecting with people, animals and nature. She is a wayshower for healing and living in the now, finding great personal fulfillment and joy as a co-creator of her reality. For more with Dr. Jamie, go to www.thehealingiswithin.com.www.MomsChangingtheWorld.orgFacebook - Moms Changing The World PodcastInstagram - BeCalm_Parenting Course is for parents of children 7yo and younger and you want a calmer way of handling challenging moments with your child, this course is for you!Host: Ekua Walker, Child Development NP, Parent Coach and CEO - Chief Encouragement OfficerProducer: Koby BlanksonPodcast Art: Esther and Joel Ishler

It begins when I was a young Guyanese-American immigrant, coming of age in a changing society. It is set amidst the backdrop of a new political system that threatened the Guyanese way of life. It unfolds as I grapple with the immigration system of Barbados in my search for prosperity. My life changes with the reality of a heart-stopping loss that propels me on my journey to America. My quest is fraught with stories of what happens to minorities who pay the cost of social assimilation and academic success. This focus and sacrifice robs my children of the knowledge of who I really am. I was unaware of my need to open my heart. Written treasures tucked away in my closet are unearthed and become the catalyst for Caryl's Closet. Rhonda is the mother of three adult children. As the children entered their early school years in Woodbridge, VA, Rhonda discovered the importance of advocacy on behalf of her son and two daughters. By respectfully forming working relationships with teachers and maintaining oversight of the children's extracurricular activities, she was able to expose them to numerous fun and educational activities nationally and abroad. This led them to unexpected and rewarding opportunities that in turn piggybacked, one on another, to reveal heretofore unknown programs with abundant benefits. Learning as she progressed over the years, Rhonda has helped many students and their families successfully apply for and be awarded approximately $10M in scholarship monies. For the Warrior Mom, it has been especially satisfying to see this progress for students and families who might not otherwise have known their children could be eligible for both the funds and the opportunities. There are even programs that cater to students with low GPAs, alternate ways to get college credit and free college.Get her book here - WARRIOR MOM: How I Fought To Get A Great Education and Scholarships For My Children and Others: Lyle, Rhonda Copeland: 9780578795379: Amazon.com: BooksReach out to her at RhondaLyle411@gmail.com www.MomsChangingtheWorld.orgHost: Ekua Walker, Child Development NP and CEO - Chief Encouragement OfficerProducer: Koby BlanksonPodcast Art: Esther and Joel Ishler
