Today, Ben is joined by Cause of Action attorney, Eric Bolinder, in a case on behalf of New Jersey fishermen who challenge the federal government's attempt to unlawfully force them to pay monitoring fees without congressional approval. The case would challenge the 'Chevron' precedent and could significantly change federal agencies' power scope. Breaking down a complex case in a digestible fashion, Ben and Eric explain why normally, federal bureaucrats have a significant advantage in court against average citizens and small businesses, but this case could change that. Later, Ben explains what he believes the impact will be of Senator Tim Scott's entrance into the 2024 presidential race. Follow Ben on Twitter: @BDomenech Learn more about your ad choices. Somehow, the podcast has chugged forward for nearly three years without a single coffee episode -- that ends TODAY. The guys are joined by Matt Bolinder, owner of Speckled Ax Wood Roasted Coffees in Portland. Matt charts the windy and certainly unconventional road that led him to Speckled Ax, and discusses how opening a business seemed like the only way to stay in Maine (despite a newly-acquired PhD in literature). We also learn why (the hell) he chose to get started with a decidedly rare wood-fired roaster, dive into the complicated value of doing things manually, and get into the fundamental social value in fair trade and organic coffee. Get roasted in the mysterious realm of the world's third most popular beverage!
Did you know that horses have psychic abilities and can read our mind and soul? In this special episode, I'm chatting with Ann-Britt Bolinder, an expert in the equine experiential learning who took it to the next level of quantum healing, coaching and teaching. We chat about Facilitated Equine Experiential Learning (FEEL) and how horses are not only the sublime healers but also great teachers, telepathically connecting with our emotional states and communicating what we need to know. You will never look at or think about horses in the same way ever again, and you will understand that putting metal bits into their mouth as a means of control is nothing short of incredible cruelty, causing great pain and distress to these highly intelligent, sensitive and spiritual animals. This episode includes a bonus epilogue about my personal experience with Ann-Britt's horses and a special, time-limited discount offer from her for the listeners. Enjoy and please share! We are joined by Matt Bolinder, owner of Speckled Ax Coffee, the "go-to" coffee for breweries like Allagash, Liquid Riot, Banded and Austin Street. We discuss all the brews that Matt's coffee has found its way into, the similarities between roasting grains and coffee and how Matt, a South Shore native, made his way up to the Craft Beer Mecca that is Portland, ME. www.speckledax.com

Support this podcast

Bolinder describes Robert Bolinder is a World War II who served in the U.S. Army Air Corps with the 423rd Night Fighter Squadron from February 1941 to October 1945. Bolinder describes the specialized training for night fighter pilots, the missions he flew over France, Belgium and Germany. Toward the end of the war, he was removed from night fighting because of vision problems, but could still fly, and wound up serving as the pilot for the commander of an infantry division, a duty that took him to Torgau, Germany, for the first meeting between US and Soviet generals. Personal narrative and pictures appended to outline.
