In Episode 45, we talked Motherhood with Mirsada Hoffmann. In today’s episode, we take a deeper dive with LMT Jeanne Mitchell into pregnancy, birth, and the nuts and bolts of preparing for Motherhood and what comes after. Jeanne Mitchell is a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT), Certified Infant Massage Therapist (CIMT) and Certified Prenatal, Labor & Postpartum Massage Therapist and has been practicing and teaching massage in the Boulder, CO, area since graduating from the Boulder College of Massage Therapy (BCMT) in 2004. The premise of Jeanne's massage practice is to work “with a woman’s unique physique.” Jeanne specializes in massage for all women, and especially women before, during and after— sometimes long after—their pregnancies. She feels strongly about providing support, education and a sense of community to women and their families during the childrearing years. Jeanne has had the pleasure of teaching and assisting massage classes at the Boulder College of Massage Therapy and Cortiva Institute of Massage. She loves the technical aspects of working on the body, but the real reward comes in providing moms, dads, and babes a deeper connection. Jeanne also enjoys sharing her training in infant massage with families and empowering them to do the work themselves, giving parents this amazing tool for calming and connecting with their babes. Jeanne is especially drawn to, and trained in, providing safe, gentle massage for women with the stress of a high-risk pregnancy.
