The FTSE 100 edged slightly higher on Monday, keeping the positive run going which has seen the index break record highs multiple times in the last few months. Fast fashion giant Shein provided some additional optimism to UK investors after reports revealed it was finishing off the final touches of its application for a London IPO. Valued last year at around £53 billion, the Chinese group has hired investment banks and lawyers in the City to prepare for one of Britain's largest listings in recent years. Cambridge-based computer science firm Raspberry Pi also said it was interested in listing in London in the coming weeks, increasing hopes that the recent exodus of UK stocks is beginning to end. Mission Group, the digital marketer, also added to the trend, after it rejected a takeover bid from fellow small-cap Brave Bison. Brave Bison offered 29.04p per Mission Group share, representing close to a 28% premium compared to its closing price last week. Finally, in macro news, new data revealed wages have grown more over the last twelve months than in the previous 16 years. In real terms, earnings jumped by 2% in the year to February, bringing an end to a decade and a half when wages struggled to grow ahead of prices. #ProactiveInvestors #marketreport #ftse #ftse100 #footsie #shein #raspberrypi #missionggroup #bravebison #invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews

What are the groundbreaking ways you or your colleagues have used data to segment, target, discover, or understand audiences? How is that impacting campaigns and other aspects of your business? And what are the next developments (close or far-off) that will expand your capabilities even further?Senior tech reporter Chris Sutcliffe is joined by Andrea Villa, paid media analyst, Brave Bison; Natasha Willmott, head of proposition activation, Indicia Worldwide; Richard Chapman, social data director, Ogilvy UK; and Sophie Coley, director of strategy at Propellernet, to discuss: Where does data enter into the marketing journey - or is it there from the outset? Where has smart deployment of data been used to entice the user into the top of the funnel?Over the past few years we've seen marketers and brands use data to deliver upon the promise of personalisation. Can you think of any examples of brands doing this really effectively? Is 'data' too broad a category description for its use by marketers? What would be your advice for any marketer or brand looking to supercharge its use of data - and can it be done wholly in-house, or are partnerships necessary? Finally, what are you most excited about for the use of data in marketing in the next few years? We're told that people shopping (and just existing) online want two things: privacy and personalization. In recent history, we haven't all done a great job of marrying up those two values - even leaving aside major scandals like Cambridge Analytica, most of us now don't trust big platforms and advertisers to use our data responsibly, while personalization efforts continue to misfire. We'll ask data and privacy experts: what are brands and platforms doing to tackle this battery of problems, and what should they be doing better?Senior tech reporter Chris Sutcliffe is joined by Russell Nuzzo, Managing Partner, Gain Theory; George Gangar, head of strategy and solutions, Impression; Mark Byrne, head of paid search and social, Brave Bison; and Anita Klinkosz, Digital Strategist, Search Laboratory; to discuss:To what extent is the public well enough informed to make the judgement about the trade off between privacy and personalisation?Has the industry got the balance right in terms of opt-ins, or are we erring on the side of caution? What developments can we expect to see in terms of how we as an industry choose to engage with privacy discussions? What are the biggest opportunities for us with regards to personalisation? The Growing Trend of Influencer Houses

Winfluence - The Influence Marketing Podcast

One of the fascinating new trends in the influencer space is that of influencer houses. You may have heard The Hype House, probably the biggest example in the U.S., is queued up for a Netflix distribution deal after starting on social media channels. There’s another in the U.S. called the Sway House, yet another called Club Beverly Hills.  The concept borrows from the original reality TV show -- The Real World on MTV. Influencer Houses bring together some number of large audience content creators and put them in a big, fancy house with each other to collaborate, create content, participate in challenges and more.  There’s a lot of smarts behind these things: Talent agencies created them to cross-promote client audiences and grow each influencer’s network, while at the same time building a frequently watched episodic content creation -- a TV show -- that can be monetized with advertising, merchandise, syndication deals and even big network distribution. But is this really influencer marketing? Or is it entertainment with online influencers playing the parts?  I invited two of the people behind Wave House, an influencer house concept out of the United Kingdom to help us understand it all. Jidé Maduako originated the Wave House concept to support his stable of influencers at Yoke Network and is the primary producer of the series. Ali Clifton helps produce the show and series through Brave Bison, a social content firm in the U.K. that partners to support Yoke’s mission with the show.  I talk to them about the concept, the reasons for being, the end game and I even dig into whether or not these are reality TV shows or overacting zaniness to get eyeballs. You’ll appreciate the discussion, I’m sure.  This episode of Winfluence, the podcast, is sponsored by Julius. I mention that software more than others in my book because it’s the platform I’ve been using for a few years now to find influencers, engage with them and manage campaigns.  Julius has powerful filters that let me drill down find outdoors influencers who also love jazz music. Or the content creators who are dermatologists in Chicago. But it certainly also gives me the mega influencers and celebrity influencers I might need to help launch a product or campaign around any type of product. And in most cases, it has contact information so I don’t have to go fishing to reach them. All the elements of campaign management are in the software, too. I love the fact I can assign a purchase price or value to every single social deliverable that is a part of campaign, automatically track it based on when the influencer says they’ll post, and get an ROI report for each element.  You know I wouldn’t say this if it wasn’t true -- You owe it to your brand or agency to do a demo of Julius today. If you’re concerned about AI and how it could affect your future, then don’t miss Tabitha Goldstaub on this week’s episode of Secret Leaders. Tabitha is a serial tech entrepreneur, an artificial intelligence industry expert who is chair of the UK government's AI Council, and co founder of CognitionX, which was before COVID, the biggest AI conference in the world, but has understandably had to pivot to an expert advice platform.“It was really clear that there were so many better experts to advise the government, but there wasn't anybody who could be the glue to hold them together. And they needed somebody to do a lot of the legwork. And also, I think they were looking for someone as optimistic as me.”Before that, she co-founded Rightster (now Brave Bison) a global b2b video network for distribution, content-sourcing, audience engagement and monetisation, and now she’s just written a book - How To Talk To Robots, something we could all do with learning. “I felt like I was at this sort of epicentre where I got to witness the future unfolding in front of my eyes. And I was selfish if I didn't explain it to my mates.”From explaining why she’s written a book about AI for women, to worrying that we won’t use AI to fight climate change, Tabitha is frank, open and incredibly honest about the future of AI.
