During my many years as a Fortean researcher & investigator, I have focused on creatures that most people would say belong on the pages of Grimm's Fairy Tales, Aesop's Fables, or maybe in animated films & cartoons. There are also tales of ancient dog-headed men who are unique to myth and legend. But, in more recent times, there are also accounts of human-like canines that are said to live and prosper among us. They are seen in many forms, both biped or quadruped. But the overwhelming question is, "What are they, and why do they exist?"Try to visualize what I'm about to describe to you. I will present the reports and incidents in detail and answer all questions from the chat room.Hi. My name is Lon Strickler. I hope that you enjoy listening to Phantoms & Monsters Personal Reports. I have a question for you. Have you ever had an unexplained sighting or encounter? Do you have photographic and/or video evidence of your experience? I have been interviewed on hundreds of radio & online broadcasts, including multiple guest appearances on 'Coast to Coast AM.'One of my encounters was featured on Destination America's 'Monsters and Mysteries in America' television show for 'The Sykesville Monster' episode. In this episode, I explore the shifting landscape of conspiracy culture and what I've been noticing about an emerging "conspiracy canon." Recording from my new apartment in Paraguay, I dive into observations from my recent event with Greg Carlwood in Florida, examining how conspiracy thinking has evolved from political analysis to metaphysical questioning. Using Charles Fort's framework of "dominants," I discuss how we're witnessing a paradigm shift toward a more meaning-centered worldview as a response to scientific materialism. Whether you consider yourself a conspiracy person or not, this episode offers insights into epistemology, metaphysics, and our relationship to meaning in the cosmos. Weird Alaska, Nick Shimmin is an Australian experimental music historian, world traveller, curator, writer and renowned editor/subtitler. He operates a venue in Sydney for fringe musicians/performers (national & international) that is truly a philanthropic venture. Recently he went Aurora Borealis chasing in Alaska and so we decided to interview him there. Alaska appears to be one of the most predominant Fortean windows of high strangeness in the world. It has 11,000 islands and over 90,000 thousand square miles of wilderness. Constant U.F.O & cyrtid sightings blend harmoniously into this terrain with its long rich indigenous culture that often supports these claims. Aspasia & Jay candidly scratch the surface with Nick on just how weird Alaska is and its odd history as an American state.
In a move straight out of ‘80's horror flick, a group of Texas teens broke into a decrepit old house owned by a pair of elderly eccentrics; spinster sisters who rarely showed their faces in public. But what began as a night of juvenile hijinks quickly devolved into a horrific Fortean flood that would haunt the unfortunate souls involved for the rest of their tragically short lives. Joseph Granda has a multifaceted career in the entertainment and art worlds. Trained in NYC under the esteemed William Alderson in the Meisner technique, Joseph's journey spans stage, film, and visual arts.Joseph visits with Talking Weird to talk about his brand new feature film about Bigfoot and the people who are obsessed with the mystery - in which he starred, and which he also directed - THE SASQUALOGIST.Visit Joseph's official page here: https://www.josephgranda.com/Visit the official page for THE SASQUALOGIST here: https://www.thesasqualogist.com/THE SASQUALOGIST screens at the 9th annual MidWest WeirdFest, March 6-9, at the Micon Downtown Cinema in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. More details here: https://www.midwestweirdfest.com/Joseph has this to say about his approach to the Bigfoot subject:"During my research for the film, I delved into the world of Sasquatch enthusiasts, discovering a diverse community united by their love, reverence, and unwavering belief in this enigmatic creature. Within this community, there are two distinct factions: the "Aper's," who view Sasquatch as a yet-to-be-discovered hominid, and the "Woo's," who perceive it as an otherworldly being. With this film, I sought to navigate the complex terrain of Sasquatch lore with respect, infusing it with subtle humor and presenting compelling evidence for both camps.Regardless of your stance on Sasquatch, THE SASQUALOGIST promises to leave you with a profound understanding of the legend and a newfound appreciation for the significance of paternal guidance in our lives, whether we've experienced it firsthand or yearn for its presence. With the heartfelt dedication poured into every aspect of this film, I am confident that you will embrace it with the same fervor and affection that fueled its creation."This is a fascinating conversation about the creation of what is already being hailed by critics as "the best Sasquatch movie ever".

HOUR ONE: In 1882 the Ma'amtrasna murders, the brutal killing of several members of the Joyce family in rural Galway, caused outrage in Irish society and remains one of the most notorious homicides in Irish history. However a few years later Cork was rocked by an equally heinous case which has largely been forgotten. We'll look at the brutal murders of four family members that took place in Castletownroche, Ireland. (The Castletownroche Murders) *** An Arizona family encounters a creature from the dark side of a Navajo legend. (The Arizona Skinwalker) *** John Blair liked to keep things “in the family”. But in his case, it wasn't just a saying. It was literal. Because John was infamous for being bigamous. (Bigamous Blair) *** Dozens of Korean War GI's claimed an unidentified flying object made them all sick. Theories range from high-tech Soviet death rays to extraterrestrials studying how we engage in battle to combat-stress-induced hallucinations. What actually happened? (The Korean War UFO)==========HOUR TWO: In 1761, a young Frenchman died violently. This tragedy would lead to what is still one of that country's most famous cases of judicial injustice. Assuming, of course, that it truly was an injustice at all. (The Mysterious Death of Marc Antoine Calas) *** Most know them as “The Hidden Folk.” The elusive and magical residents of Iceland, who live inside rocks and sometimes play games with unsuspecting passers-by. Are they real? That's a complicated question, if you ask Icelanders. (The Elves of Iceland) *** As two boys were walking back to the house on their farm, a small stone rolled past them. Then a second one. They immediately thought some other boys were hiding in the scrub and throwing stones for a joke. They couldn't have been more wrong. (Stone Throwing Spirits) *** Belle Gunness lured numerous suitors to her Indiana farm. Not to entertain them or to be courted by them. She simply wanted to kill them in cold blood and dump their bodies in her hog pen. (Belle Gunness – The Black Widow of the Midwest) *** "They're going to steal your organs!" screamed Sabina Eriksson, before running toward oncoming traffic on the M6 highway, having already been hit head-on by a Volkswagen. Her twin sister, Ursula, legs crushed by the truck that had just run her over, was spitting and screaming at paramedics on the side of the road. Now, many years after these events, we're still no closer to understanding the chaos that occurred over two days in 2008 involving psychotic twin sisters on a UK highway. Yoooooooo friends! This week, I have on the brilliant, Amanda Paulson! Amanda is a paranormal investigator/content creator who is 10000% the real deal. Amanda is out there experimenting, investigating, researching, and poking the paranormal bear. She's likely the most courageous person I've ever talked to in these Fortean fields. I mean it. So...we obviously get into her experimentations, investigations, and all that good stuff, but we also cover her wildly unique theory entitled the Paranormal Emotive Touchpoint (PET). I found this to be a wonderfully refreshing take on approaching high strangeness, and she was kind enough to share with me her point of view on how to commune with the other. I loved it! Please, do yourself a favor, read up on her theory, and watch her Tiktok for some great videos on her work. I became an instant fan. We also delve into her upcoming documentary - I was lucky enough to peep a screener, and it is fantastic! Enjoy, friends. Consensus Unreality: Occult, UFO, Phenomena and Conspiracy strangeness
Is consciousness a hologram? Is existence a series of images of itself? Is the flying saucer boom of the mid-20th century just the afterlife of Theosophy in technoccult garments? What do mild mannered English aristocrats do in a crypt at night? Can there be an effective Qliphothic parody of Mr Brightside a la 2007 Youtube? These are questions posed and answered on this episode of Consensus Unreality. We are living in a Fortean reality with apocalyptic sights and sounds on an increase and that permeate the senses of those receptive to such synchromystic phenomenon; especially, within the aviation and UFO realm. It is like superposition or Deja vu where we see two or more unexplained events happen at the same time –or repeat themselves which triggers other anomalous events. Tonight on Ground Zero, Clyde Lewis talks about UFO - AIRPLANE MODE.Originally Broadcast On 2/22/21

You may have heard of the word ‘Fortean‘ but do you really know what it means? When dead fish from the deep sea appear in the new Godzilla: Minus One movie it indicates that Godzilla is nearby. Recently an oarfish washed up on shore in Southern California, then another, then another. Three in a decade, let alone a year, or a few weeks is not only rare, but a very bad omen. In Japan this fish is a messenger of Ryūjin, as they are called “ryugu no tsukai”, which translates to “the messenger from the sea dragon god's palace.” Just as Godzilla's radiation or pressure changes form his swimming may cause the deep fish to die, since he is a personification of the folly of man and therefore acts as a Titan of disaster, the oarfish coming to the surface are theorized as being a real life version of this: their presence indicates tectonic shifts and a potential coming earthquake. A recent, and first, mega-quake warning in Japan from August has even slowed economic growth in a country probably prepared more than any other for such a disaster. Now emergency plans are being discussed for a mega-quake in the Pacific Northwest, alongside of the decades long warning of the same striking California. In the old world these omens were seen as messengers from the gods, while today we see them as messengers of science, the latter which has been deified itself so that anyone in disagreement or refusing to make an offering, is seen as the cause of natural phenomenon and thus attacked. The same can be said of Fortean mass die off events, increasingly being studied and blamed on humans. -FULL ARCHIVE & RSS: https://www.spreaker.com/show/the-secret-teachings Twitter: https://twitter.com/TST___Radio Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thesecretteachings WEBSITE (BOOKS, RESUBSCRIBE for early & ad-free show access): http://thesecretteachings.info Paypal: rdgable@yahoo.com CashApp: $rdgable EMAIL: rdgable@yahoo.com / TSTRadio@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/tst-radio--5328407/support.

Hi buds -on this week's episode, I have on documentary filmmaker, Matthew Tannam-Elgie! Matthew popped up on my radar when I heard about his upcoming documentary, MOTHMAN: THE FILM THAT NEVER WAS, about Hollywood film production's attempt to make a feature film (not the Richard Gere version!) out of the Fortean classic, The Mothman Prophecies. The crew shot on-location, in Point Pleasant, WV in the 1990's, and what happened next is bonkers! Without spoiling too much of the upcoming film, Matthew gives us a rundown of what happened, and what we can expect in this exciting new documentary. We also chat about modern para-politics, and other related topics. I'm so excited to see this film! But there have been instances of it raining frogs and fish. But did you hear about the time when for two-weeks straight it rained rocks and stones? (Raining Rocks, Storming Stones) *** In the film “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” the ending… sorry, spoiler here, but it has been since 1977 so you have had plenty of time to see it… at the end of the film, the aliens drop off dozens of humans that they've abducted over the years, and then welcome a volunteer human to leave with them – like an extraterrestrial foreign exchange student program. It's a fascinating concept, an extremely well-written premise for the film… but could that actually happen? Better question… has it already happened? (The Zeta Reticuli and Project Serpo) *** It could be argued that while William H. Bonney, better known as Billy the Kid, was a real person in history – that his story is more legend than fact. But then, being a notorious outlaw, pretending to die, and convincing everyone you are dead – then living out the rest of your life until you were an old man… that does probably deserve the label of “legend'. Is that story the fact… or is it fiction? (The Billy The Kid Conspiracy) *** Stories of giant, winged predators in the sky streaking down and attacking children and even full-grown men have been around since… well… ever. Some don't believe it possible, but if you do a Google search for “man-eating bird” you'll quickly find out they were not only real – but alive not that long ago. Or, perhaps… still soaring the skies, looking for their next meal… especially in and around New England. (Man-Eating Thunderbirds of New England) *** We've all heard of guardian angels – the idea that each one of us has a personal, supernatural protector following us at all times, battling for our souls to keep us from spiritual harm, if not physical. But if that's true – could we also each have a personal demon as well? A being also battling for our souls to send us to hell? One famous witch hunter believed exactly that. If eyewitness accounts are to be believed, then this wild and often wonky world we call home is chock full of enigmatic entities that both defy description and beggar belief. But—as eccentric as these evolutionary oddities may be—if there's one thing that fellows of Fortean lore have learned to count on, it's the fact that these bedeviling beings will always appear where and when one least expects it. Charles Fort, a maverick writer, fascinated by bizarre occurrences like flying saucers, Bigfoot, and frogs raining from the sky, scanned newspapers and magazines for reports of anomalies, advancing a philosophy that saw science as a small part of a larger system where truth and falsehood constantly transformed. His work found a following of skeptics who questioned not only science but also the press, medicine, and politics, led by the adman and writer Tiffany Thayer, who founded the Fortean Society. Joshua Blu Buhs argues in Think to New Worlds that the Fortean movement provided tools to expand the imagination, explore the social order, and demonstrate power dynamics, inspiring science fiction writers, avant-garde modernists, and post-World War II flying saucer enthusiasts to uncover the hidden structures of reality in an ever-expanding universe filled with unexplained occurrences and visionary possibilities. Joshua Blu Buhs is a scholar of the overlap of politics, biology, and ecology in twentieth-century America and has written articles that have appeared in Isis, Environmental History, The World of Genetics, and Journal of the History of Biology. His PhD is in the history of science from Penn State. He is the author of Bigfoot: The Life and Times of a Legend and The Fire Ant Wars: Nature, Science, and Public Policy in Twentieth-Century America, both published by the University of Chicago Press. His new book is Think to New Worlds: The Cultural History of Charles Fort and His Followers. Shermer and Buhs discuss his research and writing on weird phenomena like Bigfoot, Charles Fort, Fortean followers, anomaly hunting, science fiction, UFOs, skeptics, and the cultural impact of Fortean ideas that blurred the boundaries between truth and falsehood, undermining expert authority and fueling conspiracies.
