A summary of the sixth chapter is given by Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura in his Amṛta-pravāha-bhāṣya as follows. When Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu entered the temple of Jagannātha, He immediately fainted. Sārvabhauma Bhaṭṭācārya then took Him to his home. Meanwhile, Gopīnātha Ācārya, the brother-in-law of Sārvabhauma Bhaṭṭācārya, met Mukunda Datta and talked to him about Caitanya Mahāprabhu's acceptance of sannyāsa and His journey to Jagannātha Purī. After hearing about Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu's fainting and His being carried to the house of Sārvabhauma Bhaṭṭācārya, people crowded there to see the Lord. Śrīla Nityānanda Prabhu and other devotees then visited the Jagannātha temple, and when they came back to the house of Sārvabhauma Bhaṭṭācārya, Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu returned to external consciousness. Sārvabhauma Bhaṭṭācārya received everyone and distributed mahā-prasādam with great care. The Bhaṭṭācārya then became acquainted with Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu and arranged accommodations at his aunt's house. His brother-in-law, Gopīnātha Ācārya, established that Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu was Kṛṣṇa Himself, but Sārvabhauma and his many disciples could not accept this. However, Gopīnātha Ācārya convinced Sārvabhauma that no one can understand the Supreme Personality of Godhead without being favored by Him. He proved by śāstric quotation, quotations from the revealed scriptures, that Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu was Kṛṣṇa Himself in person. Still, Sārvabhauma did not take these statements very seriously. Hearing all these arguments, Caitanya Mahāprabhu told His devotees that Sārvabhauma was His spiritual master and that whatever he said out of affection was for everyone's benefit. https://vedabase.io/en/library/cc/madhya/6/ ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #govardhanreadings #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
When devotees are interacting with others, especially those who are not yet Kṛṣṇa conscious, they are very gentle and non-condescending, and that brings people closer. It's an attractive quality. People want to know more and more: who you are, what you know, and where you got to be where you are, because of your character. That's what happened with Caitanya Mahāprabhu and Sārvabhauma Bhaṭṭācārya. He saw this beautiful sannyāsī, all opulent, and then that sannyāsī saying, "Oh no, you, you're my spiritual master. Please teach me." That's the positioning. So it has nothing to do with the formality of dīkṣā. It's more about their spontaneous relationship in Mahāprabhu wanting to bring him t o the point of Sārvabhauma, using his paternal instinct towards Caitanya Mahāprabhu as a young sannyāsī to get the sukṛti in order to open his heart and understand Kṛṣṇa. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality#govardhanreadings #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
The American pronghorn is North America's most unique big game animal, a Great Plains living relic from the end of the Ice Age—a creature of speed, agility and beauty that once shared the landscape with the American cheetah, lions, dire wolves, steppe bison. The pronghorn has outlasted them all to become an icon of the wide open spaces and a species honored and beloved (if sometimes cursed in frustration) by anyone who has ever hunted them. But now, the pronghorn, like the American Great Plains ecosystem, needs our help. Beset by the disruption of migration corridors, the conversion of prairie to farmland, development of every kind, loss of sagebrush steppe to fire and invasive plants, ill-considered fences, and the list of challenges goes on. Each challenge has a solution. Join us for a conversation with hunter-conservationists Erik Dippold of Washington state, and Brock Wahl of South Dakota, and learn about the newly launched American Pronghorn Foundation, a BHA partner-org dedicated to making sure this ancient and noble species thrives in our fast-changing world.

Why are we throwing this baby out with the bathwater? Join Hal and Trout Unlimited President and CEO Chris Wood, who knows this subject inside and out and was working for the U.S. Forest Service in the late 1990s--when the Roadless Rule was created after decades of study, conflict, watershed failures, and the quest for both balance and fiscal responsibility in public lands' management. You'll learn why the Roadless Rule is not only essential to conserving the backcountry experiences we cherish but also the fiscally responsible way to manage these intact landscapes. And then join BHA in opposition to rescinding the Roadless Rule and ask your member of Congress to instead support the Roadless Area Conservation Act, legislation that would codify the Roadless Rule as law by visiting BHA's Take Action center. This is bhakti, how The Lord can become one's little child and drink breast milk from the mother. And our ācāryas say, "Yes, Nanda Mahārāja was very fortunate. He became the father of Kṛṣṇa, but Yaśodā is the most fortunate because Kṛṣṇa never left her. He was with her 24 hours a day as a child. No one was closer to Kṛṣṇa than Yaśodā." In the same section of the Bhāgavatam, we hear the admonition that was much repeated by Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu and His teachings. When He went to South India, He talked to Veṅkaṭa Bhaṭṭa. Veṅkaṭa Bhaṭṭa was in the Rāmānuja-sampradāya, the Śrī-Sampradāya, and they were having a discussion—Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu and Veṅkaṭa Bhaṭṭa, the great ācārya there. Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu was telling him, "Actually, Kṛṣṇa is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, you worship as Lord Nārāyaṇa." So Veṅkaṭa wanted to know, "Well, how can you say He's the Supreme Personality of Godhead?" And Caitanya Mahāprabhu asked him, "How is it that the consort of Lord Nārāyaṇa came to Vṛndāvana and performed severe austerities to enter into the rāsa dance?" And Veṅkaṭa Bhaṭṭa said, "You please tell me." It's because the quality of devotion in Vṛndāvana is topmost. There is no more intimate relationship between Kṛṣṇa and His devotees than in Śrī Vṛndāvana, and of all the devotees, Mother Yaśodā has the most intimate connection with Kṛṣṇa in His childhood. And therefore Śukadeva Gosvāmī says: "nāyaṁ sukhāpo bhagavān dehināṁ gopikā-sutaḥ jñānināṁ cātma-bhūtānāṁ yathā bhaktimatām iha (SB 10.9.21)." And this is the verse quoted by Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu to Veṅkaṭa Bhaṭṭa from the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam. There are many approaches. One may try to cultivate knowledge to understand God; one may perform yoga, haṭha Yoga, aṣṭāṅga Yoga; one may be a karmī, trying to position oneself in the material world in such a way as to have the best of everything. And Śukadev says, "None of these ways will attract Kṛṣṇa. Only simple bhakti will. "Nāyaṁ sukhāpo bhagavān dehināṁ gopikā-sutaḥ jñānināṁ cātma-bhūtānāṁ yathā bhaktimatām iha." In this world, only by bhakti, following in the footsteps of the residents of Vṛndāvana,... This is later written by Rūpa Gosvāmī, the process of devotional service: "tan-nāma-rūpa-caritādi-sukīrtanānu- smṛtyoḥ krameṇa rasanā-manasī niyojya tiṣṭhan vraje tad-anurāgī-janānugāmī kālaṁ nayed akhilaṁ ity upadeśa-sāram (NOI 8)." He said, "This is the essence of all advice. One should take to the practice of hearing, chanting, and remembering, etc. Śravaṇam, kīrtanaṁ Viṣṇu, smaraṇaṁ, pāda-sevanaṁ, arcanaṁ, vandanaṁ, dāsyaṁ, sakhyaṁ, ātma-nivedanam —the nine processes of devotional service continuously. Then one will come to appreciate the devotional service of the residents of Vṛndāvana." And when one develops this appreciation for the devotion of the devotees in Vṛndāvana, one may become intrigued by that. This is the beginning of one's relationship with Kṛṣṇa in a particular mood. This cannot be artificially stimulated. It comes only by copious hearing over many lifetimes to come to this position of bhakti. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------

Episode 72 - Farewell to a BHA legend - Derek Cosburn by Ash Schofield and Richard Reeve
The Northeast is the most densely populated part of our country, and is rich in opportunities for hunting, fishing, hiking and camping, due to an extensive network of public lands and the massively successful wildlife restorations and legislation to clean up rivers and reclaim the industrial and mining mishaps of the past. None of our outdoor pursuits exist here by accident or by luck. The hunting and fishing, the habitat, the access that they depend upon, is the result of work inspired by a passion for making sure that something wonderful can go on and on, in the face of ever increasing challenges. Join us for a conversation with two BHA guys on the front lines, Lake Champlain's Brian Bird, rural New York-state native, PhD in geology, hunter, angler, and professional meatcutter, and Chris Borgatti, Eastern Policy and Conservation director, based in coastal Massachusetts on the Great Marsh, teacher, hunter, fisherman, surfer and endurance athlete. Kyle Lybarger, a native of Hartselle, Alabama, is a botanist and restoration ecologist and the founder of the Native Habitat Project. He's also a father, a conservationist, a lifelong whitetail and turkey hunter, sauger and bass fisherman. Kyle is a man on a mission: to save or restore as much of the South's native plants, grasslands, savannahs, limestone glades and open woodlands as he possibly can, and to start a movement of motivated Southerners to do the same, anywhere possible and on any scale, from a tiny corner in a suburban front yard or replacing the sterile turf around a new factory, to reintroducing controlled burns to thousands of acres. He's racing against time, indifference and outright opposition, working tirelessly as a sprawling development boom overwhelms one of the most biodiverse and rare ecosystems in the world, demolishing not only the wildlife and plants but the history of Native peoples and a whole Southern culture built upon a relationship with wildlife, land, and water. Follow Kyle's highly informative and brilliant Instagram account: https://www.instagram.com/nativehabitatproject/ and enjoy this interview, recorded at Hal's homeplace in Alabama, after some adventures identifying rare plants, and a 14 hour day with a controlled burn that got a little, well, over enthusiastic. Remember when Mike Lee's 3.3 million-acre land sales were making headlines, what felt like every few seconds? It was all over social media; every conservation organization was talking about it, and even friends of mine who had never been very civically involved gathered the gumption to call their senators. Well, despite the fact that as a collective, we rallied together to defeat all three of Mike Lee's most recent attempts to sell public lands, Trump's Big “Ugly” Bill passed in the Senate, and within the hundreds of pages of legislation, many public lands attacks remained. While I do my best to cover most public lands news every Friday on this podcast, hearing from others in the outdoor advocacy community can shed light on things we may not have considered and help foster conversations needed to continue this fight. That's why I am excited to introduce Land Tawney to episode 189 of the Outdoor Minimalist podcast. Land is co-chair of American Hunters & Anglers, an energetic, media-based organization built on holding policy makers accountable through fast-paced grassroots advocacy. Tawney is a nationally renowned advocate of public land and wildlife. For a decade, he was president and CEO of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers, where under his leadership, BHA grew exponentially, expanding to 48 states and into Canada, garnering 40,000 members, and building an army of public land defenders. Land has testified before Congress on behalf of the Boundary Waters and has served on numerous federal advisory councils in support of hunting, fishing and conservation. He has held roles with the National Wildlife Federation, where he launched their Vanishing Paradise campaign in support of the Gulf Coast, and the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership. His 25 years of experience as an advocate, leader and sportsman make him just as comfortable in the duck blind and trout stream as he is on Capitol Hill. Chris Jordan has some unwelcome news for the watershed and fisheries restoration movement. Restoring robust populations of salmonids and other fish species in degraded rivers and wetlands is much more complex than we could have ever imagined, and we've been doing it wrong for decades. Most of us, even those of us who view our fishing and our rivers as a kind of religion, don't even know what a truly healthy river looks like. But Chris also has some welcome news, though, and it's the subject of today's podcast: we know how to restore functioning watersheds for coldwater fisheries now, and it's imminently achievable. Real watershed restoration that can last and bring back healthy cold water fisheries – it's called “process-based restoration” – is the future. It's not just about removing archaic dams and putting curves and woody debris back into broken and degraded creeks. It's about beavers, muck and mire and willow thickets, floodplains and aquifers, wildfire and wetlands, gravity and shade. It is, as Chris has studied and implemented successfully for the past few decades, about “helping rivers do their jobs with a lighter hand and a larger scope” and recognizing that the messiest natural systems are the very best at producing the strongest and healthiest fisheries. Join us- 100% guaranteed, you'll see your favorite rivers and creeks in an entirely new light. Nick is joined by Mirror journalist David Yates to discuss the latest from around the racing world. They lead with news that the BHA board met yesterday, and that the future of Lord Allen as the incoming chair remans in the balance. Looking ahead to the Irish Derby, Joseph O'Brien gives us the lowdown on Tennessee Stud and all his key runners at the Curragh this weekend, while Charlie Johnston edges closer to a run with Lazy Griff. Fascinating insight on his four Northumberland Plate runners from James Owen, including a bold shout for an outsider, while Ed Bethell has big plans for at least two of his rising stable stars. JA McGrath has the latest from Hong Kong.
The news keeps getting worse: over 250 million acres of our public lands potentially up for sale and 3 million or more likely carved out. While this has been a goal, and a dream, of many radical politicians for the past fifty years, until now it has only been whispered, dog-whistled, lied about, and obscured. Now, their plan is out in the open. The line is drawn in the sand. The gauntlet has been thrown down. The land grabbers have made their play. How will we respond? How do we, the Americans who know and love and depend upon these lands, stop this utterly shameless theft of our national assets? MeatEater Director of Conservation and Backcountry Hunters & Anglers North American Board Chair Ryan Callaghan joins Hal as they discuss what is happening, what's at stake, and how we – all of us American patriots together -- are going to stop this vandalism and theft of the treasures of our nation. Listen. Learn. Then Take Action. And Fuel the Fight with our United We Stand for Public Lands campaign This episode is a special Dual Release with MeatEater for Cal's Week In Review. “At first the Euroamerican settlers could not fathom the tallgrass prairie. Stepping into it from cropland-speckled woodlands to the east, they entered a land of sky and horizon, wind and light, flower and scent, a surging sea of grasses that staggered the imagination. The prairie grasslands seemed to stretch on forever, a landscape that promised no enclosure, only intensity and exposure…” So writes Cornelia (Connie) Mutel in her book, The Emerald Horizon: The History of Nature in Iowa, a modern classic of natural history. Mutel has spent her life chronicling the fantastic and beleaguered landscape of her home state, and the place that she knows and loves like no other. Her life's work- seven books written or edited, all on different aspects of Iowa's natural history- could be viewed as a requiem: only 0.1% of the native tallgrass prairies remain in Iowa, over 97% of its' once wildly biodiverse landscapes have been converted to human use, agricultural runoff and toxic spills have poisoned over half of the state's waterways and thousands of its residents' wells, the draining of wetlands causes massive, budget-breaking floods, topsoil loss is at crisis level. The current model of Iowa's agriculture does not work for anyone, and there seems to be no political will to change it. But Connie Mutel, a writer steeped in the understanding of time, nature, and change, does not believe in requiems. We discuss her latest and perhaps most important work, Tending Iowa's Land: Pathways to a Sustainable Future, where she brings together a diverse selection of expert voices from across Iowa, all focused on the very possible and very practical goal of fixing that which is broken, and restoring the miracle that is Iowa. --- The Podcast & Blast with Hal Herring is brought you by Backcountry Hunters & Anglers and presented by Silencer Central, with additional support from Decked, Dometic, and Filson.
