We're joined by Alec Bekkers, Chair of the Wisconsin chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers (BHA), for a wide-ranging conversation on what's really happening with public land hunting. Alec shares how he got into hunting as an adult, why public land flipped a switch for him, and what BHA is doing to protect and expand access. We get into conservation vs preservation, why public land feels more crowded (hint: habitat and access), the realities of funding wildlife work, and how R3 can create better hunters and stronger conservation advocates. (Quick PSA up top: Wisconsin's public input window for the next 5-year waterfowl season framework is coming soon—watch for details.) Produceras av More Than Words Hosted on Acast. A day of drama at Ascot, spiky words from a top Irish jumps figure and the latest chapter in the Constitution Hill saga are all covered in this week's edition of The Front Page.Jonbon had a day to remember in the Clarence House Chase but he triumphed under James Bowen, not Harry Cobden, after JP McManus's next retained rider was injured in an earlier race. Lee Mottershead, Chris Cook and Jonathan Harding look at what the win means for Jonbon and debate some dismissive comments from Marine Nationale's owner-trainer Barry Connell. They also ask what the future holds for Cobden and Mark Walsh, who has been McManus's principal rider in Ireland. As well as reflecting on the other weekend action, which included a devastating victory by Old Park Star, we examine a run of odds-on defeats for Willie Mullins-trained horses, a new Flat target for Constitution Hill and the ongoing stand-off between BHA chair Lord Allen and Britain's racecourses.
Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu stayed here for four months during the Cāturmāsya, and here He had conversations with Veṅkaṭa Bhaṭṭa over that time about the theology of Vaiṣṇavism, which are highly consequential. Luckily, that conversation is recorded in the Caitanya-caritāmṛta, the Madhya-līlā, so we can read it again and again and understand the hierarchy of rasa. In tattva we know that Lord Nārāyaṇa and Lord Kṛṣṇa are the same, but—as they say in Thailand—"same-same, but different.". This is another point to be observed in Caitanya Mahāprabhu's preaching: He sat with Sārvabhauma Bhaṭṭācārya, without saying anything, for seven days. And with Veṅkaṭa Bhaṭṭa, who was a venerable Vaiṣṇava and a leader in the community here, He didn't charge in, barge in, very harshly speak to him or condescend. He asked him questions—simple questions. The question was: "Why was it that Śrī Lakṣmīj wanted to enter into the rāsa-dance, and why couldn't she enter into the rāsa-dance?" By these two questions, He unlocked the wealth of knowledge of the importance of Vṛndāvana and the relationship of Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa as the pinnacle of all rasa and understanding. rādhā kṛṣṇa-praṇaya-vikṛtir hlādinī śaktir asmād ekātmānāv api bhuvi purā deha-bhedaṁ gatau tau caitanyākhyaṁ prakaṭam adhunā tad-dvayaṁ caikyam āptaṁ rādhā-bhāva-dyuti-suvalitaṁ naumi kṛṣṇa-svarūpam (Cc Adi 1.5) Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu came to reveal this. He revealed it in the house of Veṅkaṭa Bhaṭṭa because he was a qualified person to discuss this transcendental subject matter. But from that one conversation, we now have a solid theology based on Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. Nānā-śāstra-vicāraṇaikā-nipuṇau sad-dharma-saḿsthāpakau—Gopāla Bhaṭṭa Gosvāmī, who was the son of Veṅkaṭa Bhaṭṭa stayed here also and later helped to propagate this with the other Gosvāmīs all over the world and gave a foundation so that now, even a person walking out of a baseball game or a cricket match can receive this basic information on how to chant the mantra and how to take up the practice of Kṛṣṇa consciousness. Every conversation we have is highly consequential, and the way that we approach it is extremely important because we are ambassadors for the cause of Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu. We have to be very aware of how to touch people's hearts and bring them closer to Kṛṣṇa consciousness. We should also be aware that every conversation we have has an impact on the world; therefore, we should hone our speech in such a way that we can benefit ourselves and benefit everybody in the world. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 https://thefourquestionsbook.com/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spi

Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, when he lived in Vṛndāvana, would walk from Akrūra Ghāṭa every morning and sit down at Imlitalā tree and he would chant japa from early morning into the late morning. Similarly, when Caitanya Mahāprabhu came to South India, he made special arrangements for his japa. It says here, from our reading last night: "Since your two hands will always be engaged in chanting and counting the holy names, how will you be able to carry the water pot and external garments?" That's Nityānanda Prabhu trying to induce Caitanya Mahāprabhu to take somebody with him. Why? So he could have his hands free and chant Japa. From this verse (Cc Madhya 7.37), it is clear that Caitanya Mahāprabhu was chanting the holy names a fixed number of times daily. The Gosvāmīs used to follow in the footsteps of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, and Haridāsa Ṭhākura also followed this principle. Considering the Gosvāmīs—Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī, Śrīla Sanātana Gosvāmī, Śrīla Raghunātha Bhaṭṭa Gosvāmī, Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī, Śrīla Gopāla Bhaṭṭa Gosvāmī, and Śrīla Raghunātha dāsa Gosvāmī—Śrīnivāsa Ācārya confirms: saṅkhyā-pūrvaka-nāma-gāna-natibhiḥ. In addition to other duties, Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu introduced the system of chanting the holy name of the Lord a fixed number of times. As confirmed in this verse, Caitanya Mahāprabhu used to count on his fingers; while one hand was engaged in chanting, the other hand kept the number of rounds. This is corroborated in the Caitanya-candrāmṛta and also in Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī's Stava-mālā, which is quoted. Prabhupāda says: "Therefore, devotees in the line of Caitanya Mahāprabhu must chant at least 16 rounds daily. And this is the number prescribed by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. Haridāsa Ṭhākura daily chanted 300,000 names; 16 rounds is about 28,000 names. There is no need to imitate Haridāsa Ṭhākura or the Gosvāmīs, but chanting the holy name a fixed number of times daily is essential for every devotee." So, this is the foundational principle of the practice of devotional service, and we get constant confirmation of how important it is. https://vedabase.io/en/library/cc/madhya/7/37/ ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 https://thefourquestionsbook.com/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #makejapagreatagain #mantrameditation #globalyouthretreat #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
On this episode of the Backcountry Hunters & Anglers Podcast and Blast, host Hal Herring sits down with Josh Jackson, author of The Enduring Wild and founder of The Forgotten Lands Project. Jackson's journey into California's Bureau of Land Management landscapes reveals the forgotten backbone of conservation — the so-called leftover lands that belong to all of us, yet are loved by too few. Through photography, storytelling and hard-earned curiosity, this conversation explores why these places matter, why they're vulnerable, and why building a broader coalition of people who know and care about them may be one of the most important conservation challenges of our time. How about this for a set of discussion topics? The increasingly uncertain future of Kempton, the possible purchase of Arc by the Jockey Club, a significant changes overhaul of the Derby festival, the first formal public address given by new BHA chair Lord Charles Allen, the world's fastest racehorse, the ongoing lamentable state of some weighing rooms, fascinating insight into a major BHA corruption investigation and the sentencing of an illegal bookmaker. There is all that and more in the latest edition of The Front Page - and the more includes reflections on two afternoons of quality racing at Cheltenham, where Sir Anthony McCoy's Lambourn tenant Faye Bramley trained the 33-1 winner of the December Gold Cup. Even more significantly, the race carried the name of the charity created by John and Amy Hunt to support women and girls facing desperately tough times. Lee Mottershead, Peter Scargill and Matthew Rennie cover all those subjects in a thoroughly packed edition.

Cc Madhya 22.134-169 https://vedabase.io/en/library/cc/madhya/22/advanced-view/ Whoever hears this description of the process of practical devotional service very soon attains shelter at the lotus feet of Kṛṣṇa in love and affection. (Cc Madhya 22.168) ------------------------------------------------------------ An advanced devotee situated on the platform of spontaneity is already very expert in śāstric instruction, logic and argument. When he comes to the point of eternal love for Kṛṣṇa, no one can deviate him from that position, neither by argument nor by śāstric evidence. An advanced devotee has realized his eternal relationship with the Lord, and consequently he does not accept the logic and arguments of others. Such an advanced devotee has nothing to do with the sahajiyās, who manufacture their own way and commit sins by indulging in illicit sex, intoxication and gambling, if not meat-eating. Sometimes the sahajiyās imitate advanced devotees and live in their own whimsical way, avoiding the principles set down in the revealed scriptures. Unless one follows the six Gosvāmīs — Śrī Rūpa, Sanātana, Raghunātha Bhaṭṭa, Śrī Jīva, Gopāla Bhaṭṭa and Raghunātha dāsa — one cannot be a bona fide spontaneous lover of Kṛṣṇa. In this connection, Śrīla Narottama dāsa Ṭhākura says, rūpa-raghunātha-pade haibe ākuti kabe hāma bujhaba se yugala pirīti. The sahajiyās' understanding of the love affairs between Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa is not bona fide because they do not follow the principles laid down by the six Gosvāmīs. Their illicit connection and their imitation of the dress of Rūpa Gosvāmī, as well as their avoidance of the prescribed methods of revealed scriptures, will lead them to the lowest regions of hell. These imitative sahajiyās are cheated and unfortunate. They are not equal to advanced devotees (paramahaṁsas). Debauchees and paramahaṁsas are not on the same level. During the 2025 fight against the mass sell-off of America's public lands, Utah-born cowboy, big game guide, and U.S. Army veteran Braxton McCoy seemed to be everywhere, from his barrage of fiery commentary on X to the Tucker Carlson and Shawn Ryan podcasts, to addressing public meetings across the West. He was the most powerful and tenacious conservative voice of the pro-public lands movement. He hasn't let up, and he never will. Join us for the story of a true American original, a soldier who suffered catastrophic injuries in a suicide bomb attack in Ramadi, Iraq, in 2006, and fought successfully to rebuild his body, mind and life. It was a process that took years and the kind of resilience and discipline that few human beings possess. Through it all, from war to hospital bed to hunting elk in the Lost River Range of Idaho, raising four kids with his wife, and writing his harrowing memoir The Glass Factory, Braxton has drawn solace and power from the vast American public lands that he calls his natural home. --- The views and opinions expressed in the Podcast & Blast are those of the host and guests and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers. Cc Madhya 16.1-64 https://vedabase.io/en/library/cc/madhya/16/advanced-view/ Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura gives the following summary of this chapter in his Amṛta-pravāha-bhāṣya. When Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu wanted to go to Vṛndāvana, Rāmānanda Rāya and Sārvabhauma Bhaṭṭācārya indirectly presented many obstructions. In due course of time, all the devotees of Bengal visited Jagannātha Purī for the third year. This time, all the wives of the Vaiṣṇavas brought many types of food, intending to extend invitations to Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu at Jagannātha Purī. When the devotees arrived, Caitanya Mahāprabhu sent His blessings in the form of garlands. In that year also, the Guṇḍicā temple was cleansed, and when the Cāturmāsya period was over, all the devotees returned to their homes in Bengal. Caitanya Mahāprabhu forbade Nityānanda to visit Nīlācala every year. Questioned by the inhabitants of Kulīna-grāma, Caitanya Mahāprabhu again repeated the symptoms of a Vaiṣṇava. Vidyānidhi also came to Jagannātha Purī and saw the festival of Oḍana-ṣaṣṭhī. When the devotees bade farewell to the Lord, the Lord was determined to go to Vṛndāvana, and on the day of Vijaya-daśamī, He departed. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
Welcome back to Black Hoodie Alchemy, folks! This week, we have a huge wild-card episode with the only political show I've ever done and probably will ever do. Really, the whole point is actually approaching politics from an apolitical standpoint. There really are no politics -- there are just common people and the ultra elite. The vermin and exterminators. Anarchism (society without structured rule) sounds nice at times, but it will inevitably create a power vacuum. Communism might sound nice in theory but never in practice. Capitalism, what seems like our best option, has become a system that feeds off its weak and impoverished by necessity. Republicans and Democrats (and any other political party for that matter) seem to be so far up their own asses that they're tickling their tonsils... So where does that leave us -- the vermin class that all these parties and politicians are constantly trying to divide and conquer? Unless we band together like the rats, the roaches, and the vermin we are, we're all fucked. To help guide us this episode I read the latest release, a small "chapbook of prose poetry" written by my dear friend and colleague, Eric J. Millar of Outlet Press and We the Hallowed Media. The title of this work is PEST CONTROL: MEDITATIONS ON THE VERMIN CLASS, and this will actually mark the third episode in a row where I read from Eric's various works, which was unintentional but something I am more than happy to do! The first were part 1 and 2 of the Four Color Grimoire, and since this latest work of his impacted me so sincerely with its striking imagery, I felt that this was as good a time as any to round home plate with one more Millar brain-child! A controversy over public lands' management in Indiana's 204,000-acre Hoosier National Forest turns out to be a microcosm of a burning (pun intended) national debate over using fire and targeted logging operations to create habitat for wildlife and a healthier, more diverse and more resilient forest. From the 1960s to 80s, The U.S. Forest Service, in the grip of the so-called “timber beast” style of management, clear-cut millions of acres of publicly owned forestland, leading to widespread loss of wildlife, sediment-filled streams, and a furious backlash from conservationists. A barrage of successful lawsuits from environmental and conservation groups radically changed public land management, often for the good of the land, water and wildlife. But that same backlash, and the habit of filing lawsuits to block or guide public lands management, have posed extreme challenges in the decades since—critically-needed projects to restore native ecosystems and wildlife habitats have been blocked, management has in some cases been brought to a standstill, and a growing body of evidence shows that we have gone too far on certain parts of our public lands in simply “letting nature take its course.” It's not a debate over “wilderness versus logging and roads” as it is sometimes framed. It's not about the fallibility of human-directed land management versus the eternal wisdom of nature. It's about a lot more than that, and it has national implications. Join us for a conversation with three Hoosier hunters and conservation leaders who've found themselves on the frontline of this controversy—BHA Chapter Coordinator Jameson Hibbs, BHA Indiana chapter board member Brian Stone, and Michael Spalding, of the Conservation Law Center, a professional forester from a multi-generation Indiana farming family who has worked in 55 of Indiana's 92 counties over the course of his career. --- The Podcast & Blast with Hal Herring is brought you by Backcountry Hunters & Anglers and presented by Silencer Central, with additional support from Decked and Dometic. In this Final Furlong special, Emmet Kennedy sits down with Sky Sports Racing presenter Josh Apiafi, the driving force behind The Enduring Race, his new Sky Sports documentary examining whether horse racing has truly delivered on diversity, equality, and inclusion. Five years after his powerful film Leading The Way with Rishi Persad and Brian Finch, Josh returns with a sobering message: warm words aren't enough. In this candid conversation, Josh explains:
A summary of the sixth chapter is given by Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura in his Amṛta-pravāha-bhāṣya as follows. When Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu entered the temple of Jagannātha, He immediately fainted. Sārvabhauma Bhaṭṭācārya then took Him to his home. Meanwhile, Gopīnātha Ācārya, the brother-in-law of Sārvabhauma Bhaṭṭācārya, met Mukunda Datta and talked to him about Caitanya Mahāprabhu's acceptance of sannyāsa and His journey to Jagannātha Purī. After hearing about Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu's fainting and His being carried to the house of Sārvabhauma Bhaṭṭācārya, people crowded there to see the Lord. Śrīla Nityānanda Prabhu and other devotees then visited the Jagannātha temple, and when they came back to the house of Sārvabhauma Bhaṭṭācārya, Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu returned to external consciousness. Sārvabhauma Bhaṭṭācārya received everyone and distributed mahā-prasādam with great care. The Bhaṭṭācārya then became acquainted with Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu and arranged accommodations at his aunt's house. His brother-in-law, Gopīnātha Ācārya, established that Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu was Kṛṣṇa Himself, but Sārvabhauma and his many disciples could not accept this. However, Gopīnātha Ācārya convinced Sārvabhauma that no one can understand the Supreme Personality of Godhead without being favored by Him. He proved by śāstric quotation, quotations from the revealed scriptures, that Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu was Kṛṣṇa Himself in person. Still, Sārvabhauma did not take these statements very seriously. Hearing all these arguments, Caitanya Mahāprabhu told His devotees that Sārvabhauma was His spiritual master and that whatever he said out of affection was for everyone's benefit. https://vedabase.io/en/library/cc/madhya/6/ ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #govardhanreadings #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
When devotees are interacting with others, especially those who are not yet Kṛṣṇa conscious, they are very gentle and non-condescending, and that brings people closer. It's an attractive quality. People want to know more and more: who you are, what you know, and where you got to be where you are, because of your character. That's what happened with Caitanya Mahāprabhu and Sārvabhauma Bhaṭṭācārya. He saw this beautiful sannyāsī, all opulent, and then that sannyāsī saying, "Oh no, you, you're my spiritual master. Please teach me." That's the positioning. So it has nothing to do with the formality of dīkṣā. It's more about their spontaneous relationship in Mahāprabhu wanting to bring him t o the point of Sārvabhauma, using his paternal instinct towards Caitanya Mahāprabhu as a young sannyāsī to get the sukṛti in order to open his heart and understand Kṛṣṇa. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality#govardhanreadings #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
The American pronghorn is North America's most unique big game animal, a Great Plains living relic from the end of the Ice Age—a creature of speed, agility and beauty that once shared the landscape with the American cheetah, lions, dire wolves, steppe bison. The pronghorn has outlasted them all to become an icon of the wide open spaces and a species honored and beloved (if sometimes cursed in frustration) by anyone who has ever hunted them. But now, the pronghorn, like the American Great Plains ecosystem, needs our help. Beset by the disruption of migration corridors, the conversion of prairie to farmland, development of every kind, loss of sagebrush steppe to fire and invasive plants, ill-considered fences, and the list of challenges goes on. Each challenge has a solution. Join us for a conversation with hunter-conservationists Erik Dippold of Washington state, and Brock Wahl of South Dakota, and learn about the newly launched American Pronghorn Foundation, a BHA partner-org dedicated to making sure this ancient and noble species thrives in our fast-changing world.
Nick is joined by Rishi Persad for another edition of the popular racing podcast. First up today is top trainer Ed Walker, livid at the inaction of the Goodwood stewards on Wednesday, and the general level of rough riding in the UK. Also on today's show, with the continuing hullabaloo surrounding Scandinavia's non-participation in the Melbourne Cup, Nick talks to Jason Singh, owner of a three year old - Furthur - who has passed the vet checks for Australia. Plus, as the ROA board elections draw closer, Nick aims to give a platform to each of the 13 candidates, beginning today with Mouse Hamilton-Fairley. Finally, we hear the BHA's Tom Byrne in conversation with Nick Lightfoot on the authority's own podcast in response to Ruby Walsh's remarks on the NLD last Friday on the 'Poniros' rule.
Nick is joined by Lydia Hislop to discuss the latest from around the racing world. With 100 Labour MPs inviting Rachel Reeves to impose much higher taxes on the gambling industry, Nick and Lydia once again consider the extent to which such hikes are inevitable, and explore the consequences in conversation with BetGoodwin boss Julian Head. Also today, Sam Haggas joins the show to discuss the two Book One Bonus winners that he purchased yesterday, with particular focus on his burgeoning association with owner George Waud. Plus, Nick and Lydia put this weekend's big races under the microscope, Timeform's Dan Barber calls for a return of a prize for the winningmost horse of the season, Mark Howard previews his 33rd edition of One Jump Ahead with some names to follow, and Sam Hoskins is the latest ROA board aspirant to attend the NLD hustings. Meanwhile, the BHA's Katie Carr drops in to discuss the sport's recently published environmental sustainability strategy.
Nick is joined by Mirror man David Yates to discuss the latest from around the racing world. They are joined first by Owen Burrows, in two minds whether to field his star juvenile in the Rockfel or go straight for the Fillies' Mile. After a round up of the weekend's action, and news of Almeric's lofty target, Nick has a statement from the BHA on why trainers are not allowed to administer electrolytes on raceday, in the wake of Chris Gordon's case at Plumpton on Sunday. Plus, Nico de Boinville joins the show ahead of his impending comeback from injury, George Scott celebrates a win in the German St Leger while looking forward to Isle of Jura's return this week, and Julian Dollar outlines the Newsells Park draft - which includes Zavateri's half sister - as they bid to top Tattersalls Book One for the eighth consecutive year. Meanwhile, Tattersalls Ireland CEO Simon Kerins previews their big yearling sale, which begins tomorrow.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture is taking public comments on the proposal to rescind the 2001 Roadless Rule, which affects 45 million acres of our national forests. Why is this such a big deal? Why are we throwing this baby out with the bathwater? Join Hal and Trout Unlimited President and CEO Chris Wood, who knows this subject inside and out and was working for the U.S. Forest Service in the late 1990s--when the Roadless Rule was created after decades of study, conflict, watershed failures, and the quest for both balance and fiscal responsibility in public lands' management. You'll learn why the Roadless Rule is not only essential to conserving the backcountry experiences we cherish but also the fiscally responsible way to manage these intact landscapes. And then join BHA in opposition to rescinding the Roadless Rule and ask your member of Congress to instead support the Roadless Area Conservation Act, legislation that would codify the Roadless Rule as law by visiting BHA's Take Action center. Comments are only open until Midnight, September 19th. So don't delay!
BHA's Podcast and Blast is proud to be sponsored by Silencer Central, the nation's largest clearinghouse for silencers. Motto: “Silencers Made Simple since 2005.” This episode features Brandon Maddox of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, who founded Silencer Central 20 years ago from his home. Brandon is a long-range precision rifle shooter and an advocate for conservation, public lands and America's hunting and shooting heritage. Join us to hear from a businessman and conservationist, and get your questions answered about suppressors—and how they can improve your shooting and make it easier to introduce newcomers to hunting. And our deepest thanks to Silencer Central for supporting this podcast and all of BHA's work on behalf of our wild public lands, waters and wildlife.
Nick is joined by Mirror journalist David Yates to discuss the latest from around the racing world. They begin by discussing Lord Allen's arrival as BHA Chair and are joined by Musselburgh boss and former BHA board member Bill Farnsworth to determine what should be in the in-tray. Also on today's show, a lengthy piece from Jane Mangan in a revealing conversation with Aidan O'Brien at Ballydoyle, plus Frankie Dettori on an extraordinary weekend in Nashville, Michelle Yu on all the Pacific Classic/Jockey Club Gold Cup talking points, and Jason Maguire on a good weekend for the Rooneys.
