In the spring of 2019, two women in the Jewish community met and discovered that they shared a mutual need. Despite their experiences of personal healing, and despite supportive connections with family and friends, they each lived with their individual secret. With nobody else to share and identify with, loneliness and isolation were a burden that did not get any lighter with the passage of time.   Thus, the realization dawned that perhaps at times even more meaningful than professional help, survivors and their families need community. And their efforts proved to be groundbreaking.   What began with just one small support group, and within a short amount of time, Ray of Hope developed into an organization entirely and exclusively devoted to the care of male and female survivors of sexual abuse and their families, with membership spanning across the US and abroad.   Their Bottom Line: Even one person or family struggling with the isolation and loneliness caused by sexual abuse is too many.   David Kohn, LCSW, CASAC is their Chief Clinical Officer and Dr. Shoshana Friedman, Psy.D. is a Group Facilitator. Brian Eftenoff was a bit of a douche. He was arrogant. Self centered. Controlling. But when he met a young Judi Harding at a bar in Phoenix, he laid on the charm. Judi was smitten. Soon, Brian and Judi moved in together. They got married. They had two children. Judi confided in her friends and family that Brian was abusive. So, when Brian discovered her dead one morning, he became a prime suspect. Then Brandi tells us about a woman whose psychic vision helped solve a crime. Etta Smith didn't know Melanie Uribe, but when she heard about the young mother's disappearance, Etta had an unexpected vision. She saw that Melanie was in a canyon, surrounded by shrubbery. Etta worried that police wouldn't take her seriously, but she went to the police station anyway. She couldn't shake the possibility that perhaps Melanie was still alive, and in desperate need of help. And now for a note about our process. For each episode, Kristin reads a bunch of articles, then spits them back out in her very limited vocabulary. Brandi copies and pastes from the best sources on the web. And sometimes Wikipedia. David Kohn is an architect based in London. “The contemporary economies of architectural production inevitably tend toward the shed. The shed is this panacea - everything can be a shed. «How stupid not to have thought about that!» skal angivelig Darwins venn Thomas Huxley (1825-1895) ha sagt når han hadde lest On the Origin of the Species fra 1859. «I feel not a shade of surprise at your entirely rejecting my views: my surprise is that I have been successful in converting some few eminent Botanists, Zoologists, & Geologists. In several cases the conversion has been very slow & that is the only sort of conversion which I respect.»
