We are in a unique and pioneering age at River of Life. Our Pastor, Denny Curran, has faithfully led the church for almost 30 years. He brought along Kirby St. John many years ago as a youth pastor, and they both worked together to spread the gospel of Jesus to our community and surrounding areas. Kirby would eventually go on to lead the state youth ministry as our District Youth Director. It is fitting that Kirby would take on the mantle of lead pastor of River of Life as Denny retires and focuses his attention on other ministry. Listen to Kirby's heart as he shares his passion and focus for the next generation of believers, and how he will lead our congregation to continue to Know, Grow, and Show Jesus!

As a culture, we are being bombarded with so many dooms' day theories and predictions, some predicting the likes of a Depression-era level of economic and social hit in the coming months. And while that may be something that many in the past few generations have yet to experience, it's not something new. In this conversation our guest Tom Greene brings a measure of hope to our listeners by shedding light on the truth of these words as they stand next to the Truth of God's Word. How does a pastor, ministry leader, or business owner lead the local church or business through even more potentially challenging times just ahead and keep up the financial support they've committed to, as well as grow it?Let's talk about the church's only responsibility.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tom Greene travels across the nation in his commitment to an extensive speaking schedule, which includes churches, missions conventions, leadership conferences, district and national events. He is also the author of the book, "The Game Isn't Over" and co-founder of a ministry advancement group called Greene and Raley.Greene has previously served the Assemblies of God as the National Director of Men's Ministries, National Youth Director, District Youth Director in Oklahoma and in several local churches. One of the perpetual frustrations that lingers throughout all of time is the challenge of remaining true to ourselves while also understanding, shaping, and trusting the generation just a few paces behind us. Today's focus is something that every single leader—male and female—should be leaning into should he or she desire to continue to lead effectively. How do we effectively mentor the up-and-coming generation of leaders while simultaneously remaining faithful to do what God has called us to do as individuals within our own generation? Let's talk about leading Gen Z.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Phil Rasmussen and his wife Brenda celebrate 37 years of marriage this year. Raising children in 2021 is complicated, to say the least. Raising children in the ministry provides an additional layer of complication into the mix! Today's episode focuses primarily on the topic of parenting in the ministry but provides even more emphasis on raising children to release them into God-given destinies. How do you raise children in the ministry but not expressly for the ministry? How does a parent go about fostering an inner independence into each child, while also preparing themselves for the day when it's time to release that child to live on their own? Our guests for Episode 21 are Tom & Pam Greene. The Greene's also happen to be the parents of our LTS host Bridgette Tomlin! You'll enjoy this candid conversation as they weigh in on how to love your children enough to let them go.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Tom Greene travels across the nation in his commitment to an extensive speaking schedule, which includes churches, missions conventions, leadership conferences, district and national events. Ministers today are suffering from what we're calling Ministry PTSD—post-traumatic stress disorder from traumatic ministerial experiences. And many of them are not self-aware enough to acknowledge that or they don't know what the answers are to pull themselves out of the pit. Today's episode guest Pastor Mike Allard has had his own fair share of experiences in such a pit and brings to us the lessons he learned in what he deems a place of "total failure".------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Reverend Mike Allard, began preaching as a boy when he was just 13 years old in his home church, Northwest Assembly of God, in Wichita Falls, Texas. During his 40+ years of ministry he has served as youth pastor and children's pastor for 11 years; a District Youth Director in the South Texas district of the Assemblies of God for 11 years and currently is the Lead Pastor at Crossroads Fellowship, in Houston, Texas for almost 20 years.Pastor Mike's first book Never Give Up! is the incredible true story of how God brought him from failure to faith. In his second book, Living In The Overflow, he reveals truths about how you can experience life to its fullest. How having a daily time in prayer and allowing the Holy Spirit to flow through you will move you into the overflow.Crossroads Fellowship, under the leadership of Pastor Mike has grown from 250 to an average of 1,300 each Sunday. He has a passion for souls and missions. In his many years of travel Mike has raised millions of dollars in mission services, conferences, conventions, camps, tours, and special days. Over the past several years, Crossroads Fellowship has given each year over $1,000,000.00 to missions. But his greatest accomplishment is his family. He has a beautiful wife, Danielle, who has been by his side for 41+ years. He has three wonderful children, Joshua, Michael, and Lacey. He currently has 11 grandchildren, and he looks forward to every day getting to share life with this crazy, but wonderful family that God has given him.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Let's Connect events are casual dinner gatherings where ministry wives who live and serve near one another get together and connect. There's no message to preach, no volunteers to coordinate, no stress. Just women who understand what you deal with each day and your lifestyle in the ministry, getting together for dinner and some laughs. Learn more about a Connect near you or how you can launch one by stopping by our website at sanctuaryministrywives.com and click “Let's Connect”. Our next events are just ahead in June!

We are blessed to have a dynamic speaker and guest minister with us. Dr. Nick Garza is a long time friend of our pastors and will bless you with his anointed ministry. Dr. Garza is committed to scripture, family, education and leadership. As a Pastor, mentor, and a teacher, he is dedicated to see God's Glory exposed to multiple generations. As the seventh child out of 11 siblings raised in an Assembly of God church in the state of Washington, his dedication to faith and family, and pursuing one's dreams, was instilled at an early age. He and his wife Sandra have four children: Anthony, Cassandra, Carissa, and Crystal. Dr. Garza graduated from Bethany University and completed two Masters degrees from Fuller Theological Seminary in Theology and Missiology. His Doctoral pursuit at Fuller led him to write about bridging the "Pentecostal generational gap," which seeks to ensure a "spirit filled" empowered life for a new generation. He served as A District Youth Director before planting Third Day Worship Center in Elk Grove. Dr. Nick is currently an Executive Leader at the Central Pacific Ministry Network. He is a dear friend and a great preacher. Listen and be blessed by his powerful message.
