Welcome back to another cultured escapade with your favorite group of cinema-loving patriarchs here at Bad Dads Film Review! This week we're tipping our berets to the charm of France with a très magnifique lineup!First off, let's uncork some vintage nostalgia as we reminisce over our favorite French characters and actors. Oh là là, do we have a list that dances from the cobblestone streets of Paris to the glamorous allure of the silver screen! We'll laugh, we'll argue, and we might even attempt some French that'll make you say "Sacrebleu!" – all in good fun, of course. Then, grab your swords and a baguette, because we're dueling into the action-packed world of The Three Musketeers: D'Artagnan! Whether you're a fan of the classic Alexandre Dumas tale or new to the swashbuckling saga, there's something universally enjoyable about the camaraderie and adventure of these iconic characters. And trust us, it's not just the catchy “All for one and one for all!” that'll have you hooked. Finally, because we're dads who know a thing or two about Saturday morning shenanigans with the kiddos, we can't forget about Dogtanian and the Three Muskehounds. This animated twist on the classic is just the ticket for a bit of family-friendly fun that might even teach the little ones a thing or deux about loyalty and friendship. So, mes amis, whether you're fluent in French cinema or just looking for a film fling with a foreign flair, we've got you covered. Tune in, turn up the volume, and let's say "Bonjour!" to an episode filled with je ne sais quoi!
Join us and Michael Sopkiw as we hit the road in our not-ripping-off-Mad-Max hotrod for some not-ripping-off-Death-Race car-smashing action in deserts of Utah/ a quarry just outside Rome. And that's just the prologue to the real story, which is not-ripping-off-Escape-From-New-York at all. Yes, 2019: After the Fall of New York is the fruit salad of Italian post-apocalypse films, throwing in a bit of everything and then pouring the synth stylings of the De Angelis brothers over the top in the hope that you won't notice the joins or the obvious miniature work. But we love it! Along the way we discuss the ubiquity of George Eastman, ponder the difficulty of finding the last fertile woman on Earth if no one has told you her name or what she looks like, and reminisce about Dogtanian and the Three Muskerhounds. We would love to hear from you if you have any favourite post-apocalypse films. Steven and special guest Lucy McCaul look back at Dogtanian and The Three Muskehounds! Is this the catchiest theme tune of the eighties and does it cheat by being two minutes long? Can you guess the other series made by the same people? And isn't Dogtanian a bit young to be out fighting with real swords? Covers the episodes of Dogtanian and The Three Muskehounds, "Dogtanian's Journey" and "Dogtanian Meets the Man with the Black Moustache".
Cliff didn't watch Dogtanian and the Muskerhounds so instead interrogates Brett on his life and loves. There's also music from The Lost State of Dan with The Void https://music.apple.com/gb/album/the-void-single/1513825600 Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

All for one, and all for love! This episode sees Morgan take Tom back to 1993 and the strangely-forgotten action romp The Three Musketeers, starring Kiefer Sutherland, Charlie Sheen, Oliver Platt, Chris O'Donnell and Tim Curry. Tom thought he'd seen it, but when he watched it the night before, this was apparently not the case. But what did he think of it? We discuss: Why are they called Musketeers when they only seem to use swords? Tom's concept of something having 'no legacy' purely because he's never heard of it The brilliance of Dogtanian and Albert the Fifth Musketeer Why the film has, according to Morgan, a "highly f***able" cast Tom's weird dissing of Chris O'Donnell Why we're still annoyed about Drew from Neighbours' death What the hell have they done to Paul McGann? Bryan Adams, Rod Stewart AND Sting Clips used: The Three Musketeers (1993) (Disney) The Three Musketeers (1973) (20th Century Fox) Bryan Adams, Rod Stewart & Sting - All for Love (Universal) Dogtanian and the Three Muskahounds (BRB) Albert the 5th Musketeer (BBC/Canal+) Please https://twogeekstwobeers.com/reviews/ (leave us a review here)! Woof! Classical literature but with dogs! We try and decide why this show was popular and if it really deserves a movie reboot. Join us for bad theme songs, surprisingly non-lethal sword fighting and too many doggy sounds. Yip!
On CheapShow this week, Paul and Eli have a major case of the "Do You Remembers?" when they chance upon a big, thick book of cartoons. It's a whistle stop tour of British animation, comic book classic, lost gems and forgotten memories. We barely scratch the surface! If you half remember Dogtanian, Frank Sidebottom and whatever Action Gran is, have we got a trip down memory lane for you! Along the way, we also discover which 1980's celebrity likes which classic cartoon character (It's probably all made up though!) Elsewhere in the podcast, we have a bumper edition of The Price of Shite where Eli is gifted with another toy teddy bear. A truly upsetting moment in CheapShow history, as you will quickly find out. Lastly, there is a very good chance Eli's use of a Korean energy drink has fanned the flames of his "Egg Special" idea. God help us all! Episode 3 - Dogtanian "One for all and all for one, Muskehounds are always ready..." to disappoint you. Agents Of F.O.U.R. Yes, the episode title is a blatant piece of attention-grabbing, what with the release of the TV show. This week, we welcome back Charlie Niemeyer to the show. Host of Superman In The Bronze Age and Charlie's Geekcast, and co-host of Starman Observatory, Charlie is just the guy we wanted to have sit around whilst Steve summarises this week's issue! And what an issue. Having been teased with Gorgon last week, we now get a full bevy of Inhumans this week. Crystal. Lockjaw. Karnak. Triton. Black Bolt. Kirby's opened up his imagination and letting everything spill out. Along the way, we find time to do the Ninja Rap, have a gimp on the show, and sing the Dogtanian theme. Hayfever, submarines, radio hams and goddesses. Plus Inspector Gadget, My Little Pony, Game of Thrones and Dogtanian. Slightly below-par on the editing front, it’s Skeptics with a K.
HELLO EVERYONE!! HELLA GIMMIX SAY WHAT!?! A LIGHT AT THE END BY JHOUSE!! On this episode of A Light at The End, I just put together a bunch of tracks that I've been feeling over the last couple months. There is a strong hip hop vibe throughout, but that morphs and evolves from older funk and r+b roots to more grimy, hard-hittin dubsteppa vibes. Some of my favorites on this one include work from Jamie XX w/ Gil Scott Heron. Absolutely modern classic spoken word over some very upfront beats. Great work there. I also love The Shakedown remixes (one by Dj Bonebookbang and the other by Dogtanian) and the Blunted Monkz remix of Can Show you the Way. I think you'll love the variety and have a chance to go through to the other side. I know there's a ton of crazy stuff goin on in our world, but take a moment w/ me to be thankful for the opportunities all around us for new birth and loving creativity. I hope you enjoy this episode of A Light At The End... by JHOUSE !?!
