FLASHBACK! (duh duh duh duh / making wibbly vertical lines with both hands / mysterious face) Hope you joined in there... This ep was first released on May 2 2024 and we're re-releasing it - like a brilliant classic album - for a very special reason. Limited Time Only has been nominated for an actual AWARD! An International Women's Podcast Award in the category of COMEDY GOLD and it was clips from this episode that won us that nomination. We couldn't be more thrilled (Susie meeting Chesney Hawkes was the bar here and she was absolutely ruddy THRILLED about that so imagine how we're feeling about THIS!). Check out the other brilliant nominees here: IWPA Winners will be announced at the ceremony at BBC Broadcasting House on 17th June so we'll let you know how we do. We'll definitely be drunk. So to celebrate this achievement, and to give this episode another moment in the sun - she deserves it, she's bloody good and features a bone fide rock star - here is Ep 1 of Season 4, Everybody's Changing (featuring Jesse Quin) ORIGINAL SHOWNOTES Everybody's Changing and Susie & Esther don't feel the same... At the end of the last season, they thought, we Can't Stop Now! If only they don't Bend & Break, with Perfect Symmetry, they could create Somewhere Only We Know for a very special first episode of the new season. Featuring Jesse Quin from the band, KEANE! Jesse is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, producer and the founder of Old Jet Arts Centre in Suffolk. He chats to the gals about his early life and his supportive parents; how his career started; his experiences on the road with Keane; and answers lots of questions from listeners - thank you so much for sending them in! Also this ep, there is a surprise visit from the ghost of Derek Acorah; a good old chat about change; comedy sketches; and some singing! It's a bumper ep to launch Season 4 and we're thrilled to be back in your ears. Please share this episode someone you like who'd enjoy it too! Competition: If you've read these shownotes share the episode on social media (handles below!) and tag us in, and send your postal address to limitedtimepodcast@gmail.com - we'll send you a prize! Season 5, Episode 5 In numerology the number 5 represents freedom, change, and adventure. So it is entirely apt that this week we are chatting all things ART & CREATIVITY! Now, we don't mean to bang on about it but...have you joined the LTO COMMUNITY yet? It's our newsletter. And it's marvellous. And it needs YOU! Here's the big link to click: SIGN UP HERE! So, back to art... Our guest is NADIA ATTURA, an award-winning artist known for her evocative, layered landscapes and unmistakable visual style. From a young age, Nadia knew she wanted to be an artist — a deep inner calling that never left her. But it was the birth of her daughter that became the true turning point, inspiring her to fully commit to her artistic path and make creativity her reality. That powerful sense of purpose has shaped everything since. Working with analogue and digital processes, Nadia creates richly textured scenes that transport the viewer into a world of colour, emotion, and memory. Her unique work has attracted a loyal following — including celebrity clients — and has been exhibited internationally and featured in major collections and exhibitions. We talk to Nadia about what drives her creativity, how becoming a mother fuelled her artistic ambition, her process from inspiration to finished piece, and the deep ‘why' behind everything she makes. We found our conversation with Nadia truly inspiring. And we're certain you will too! With two art-based sketches, a surprise guest voice, and a chat that produced two very different portraits (see Instagram or watch on You Tube for the results!), it's an episode packed with creativity and the celebration of all things ART. Season FIVE, Episode FOUR! Already! Before we begin… Have you joined the LTO COMMUNITY yet? It's our occasional, non-spammy newsletter packed with behind-the-scenes titbits, priority access to live shows, and the chance to shape future LTO BRIEF episodes. SIGN UP HERE! (Yes, you. We're still waiting. No pressure, but… come on.) And now, on to this week's episode – and it's a good'un. Our guest is PJ Ellis – BBC broadcaster, businessman, philanthropist, and proud Brummie. You might remember him from Big Brother Series 3, (yes, the one with Alison Hammond), but there's so much more to PJ than reality TV. In this thoughtful and open conversation, we talk about the power of community, what it means to find purpose, and how PJ's work through the LoveBrum charity has helped champion unsung heroes across the city. We also touch on parenting, building a legacy, and embracing vulnerability—with a hefty dose of honesty and humour. We deep-dive into grief and loss, discussing PJ's very recent personal experiences and the emotional rawness that comes with them. It's a moving, generous conversation that offers space for reflection, connection, and a few unexpected laughs along the way. PJ brings warmth, wit, and wisdom in equal measure and we're chuffed to share this episode with you. As ever, there are sketches, surprises, and the kind of heartfelt chat that makes you feel like you've just had a good natter over a cuppa. Ben is a leading figure in the world of voice acting, having taken over the iconic role from Peter Sallis, with whom he worked closely before stepping into Wallace's well-loved shoes (and possibly slippers). His work continues to bring joy to audiences around the world through the timeless charm and humour of Aardman's creations. In this conversation, we talk to Ben about how he got started in voice work, what it was like working alongside Peter Sallis, and the unique process behind bringing animated characters to life. We also chat about the importance of seizing opportunities when they arise, his advice for aspiring voice actors—and, of course, that unforgettable trip to the Oscars. There's something delightfully British about this episode—it's equal parts heartwarming, hilarious, and just the right amount of bonkers. We've reached the final episode of Season 4! Can you believe it?! But in THIS final, we're all winners. Susie & Esther discuss comedy - with a natter about what makes them laugh. And a few fart jokes. They may appear to be intelligent, mature and sophisticated (ahem) but they love a dollop of good old toilet humour. And rude words. This ep's special guest is multi award winning British comedian and writer, DOM JOLY. Dom's route to comedy legend is a surprising and fascinating one. Born in Beirut, Dom went to school alongside Osama Bin Laden. Yes you heard that correctly. He speaks several languages, regularly played bridge with Dido, before she was famous, and sold his home to Salman Rushdie. He was a Diplomat in Prague and a political producer for ITN in Westminster, interviewing politicians until an unfortunate incident with David Mellor and a football led to him getting sacked. After this, his career took a different direction and in the early 2000's his hidden camera show TRIGGER HAPPY TV landed on Channel 4 and become an instant cult hit gaining him a dedicated fan base. Now an acclaimed travel writer, Dom has written and toured several books including THE DARK TOURIST; CONSPIRACY TOURIST; and SUCH MISERABLE WEATHER and has travelled to over 100 countries. Dom Joly - the Conspiracy Tour is visiting multiple venues in the UK in Sept/Oct/Nov this year. S & E talk to Dom about the serendipitous moments in his life and his willingness to push boundaries; what his biggest piece of advice is; and getting arrested. He's a fascinating and very funny man, and the resulting conversation is a treat to listen to. Along with a bumper crop of sketches, extra chats and plenty of surprises this final episode of the season will hopefully raise a lorra lorra laughs. The gals will be back in the autumn for SEASON FIVE!!! We hope you enjoy this episode. Please share it with someone you like who'd enjoy it too! It's summertime! Or so we're led to believe. Susie & Esther swap summer tips, and also cover sunburn, tanning and why everything sounds better in the sun. They also cover their incredibly pale legs, arms and pretty much every other bit of their bodies to avoid blistering... This week's special guest is actor, director, mentor, and award-winning motion capture legend, Neil Newbon. Starting out as a young actor, Neil was a member of the Central Junior Television Workshop and the National Youth Theatre. His career has been wide and varied, featuring leading roles in Hollyoaks and Dream Team, and an appearance in the beloved Goodness Gracious Me "Going for an English" sketch. Neil is best known for providing the voice and motion capture for numerous video game characters, including Karl Heisenberg in Resident Evil Village and Astarion in Baldur's Gate 3. For his work as Astarion, he won Best Performance at the 2023 Game Awards. Soul Searching - As the great Bryan Adams once sang 'Search your heart, search your soul...' (a song featured in the greatest film of all time according to Susie) and this week, the gals are encouraging you to do the same. Their special guest is the fabulous LINDSAY MACK. Hailed as “one of the most important new voices in the world of modern spirituality and wellness,” Lindsay Mack is a queer, non-binary, neurodivergent intuitive artist, Tarot teacher, writer, mother, and the founder of Tarot for the Wild Soul®. Tarot for the Wild Soul is an online Tarot school that has helped tens of thousands of students learn how to read Tarot for anything that arises — to show up to their decks in the present moment, and engage with them as integral helping tools in difficult, or challenging situations. Lindsay's podcast of the same name is the world's top ranking Tarot podcast with over 7 millions downloads and counting! Susie & Esther chat to Lindsay about how their Tarot journey began; their soul-centred approach to Tarot and belief that there are 'no bad cards'; and how each Tarot card is 'an opportunity to grow and expand through life's challenges and contractions'. We also find out what's next for Lindsay with some lovely opportunities to engage with Tarot for the Wild Soul coming up... (see links for more details). It was a great pleasure to welcome Lindsay to the show and the resulting chat is a delight. With comedy sketches, bonus chat and a panoply of surprises, soul searching is even more fun than Bryan made out. We hope you enjoy this episode. Games! A word that strikes fear into some, and absolute glee into others. This week Susie & Esther are discussing all things games and gaming. Board, card or ball - you name it, it might have been mentioned. Maybe put a bet on it (although we don't condone gambling...). The gaming theme continues with this week's very special guest - director Kate Saxon. Starting out as an actress, an unexpected job offer completely changed the course of Kate's career, setting her on the path to becoming a much-celebrated director who works across many different mediums including theatre, television, opera and of course, computer games. Kate has directed more than 35 theatre productions, including the national tour of The History Boy For television, her credits include Grace; Call The Midwife and Endeavour. As a cinematic performance director for games, Kate has worked on BAFTA-winning and nominated titles including Alien: Isolation, Mafia III, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. During her career she has directed notable actors including Michael Fassbender, Naomie Harris, Sir Patrick Stewart, Simon Pegg, and Dame Judi Dench. The gals chat to Kate about her path into directing, her approach to each different project, her dramatic first day on Eastenders, and how she enjoys being tested by A-listers. It's a fascinating conversation! With comedy sketches, bonus chat and lots of surprises this is an episode scores 10/10, hits a 6, and is a full house of treats. We hope you enjoy it! LTO is back for Season 4! Everybody's Changing and Susie & Esther don't feel the same... We stand at the end of Season 3 (for an ovation, right?!) This week's episode is all about being your best self and whatever that means to you - one gal's seaswim is another gal's sticky toffee pudding and a good book. Esther & Susie discuss themselves (for a change...) and Susie reveals some worrying gaps in her knowledge of how bodies actually work. To help them in their quest for best self-dom, S & E enlist the advice of their special guest - the iridescent Rosie Green. Rosie is a journalist, beauty editor, author, broadcaster and she has spent the last 20 years writing about beauty, fashion, spas and health and interviewing and styling major Hollywood celebrities from Sarah Jessica Parker to Cameron Diaz. She regularly writes for Red Magazine, The Telegraph, The Times, Vogue and Elle, and up until recently, had her own column in the Daily Mail's You Magazine. She's basically Carrie Bradshaw. She is also a regular guest presenter on This Morning. After her 26 year relationship with her husband ended, without warning, Rosie took her pain and turned it into a best selling book How To Heal A Broken Heart. A book that has helped many people going through separations feel less alone and more positive about their future. We talk to Rosie about how she landed her first break at Vogue, working for Trinny and Susannah, the skincare she would recommend and her passion for authentic communication. Rosie glows inside and out and it was a delight to chat to here and learn some fabulous beauty tips. And we all want to know how her David Gandy interview went now... The sketch this week is musical! And a lot of fun. And you'll hear the final ever (probably) You Bash. We'll be back on May 2nd for Season 4 with new chats, new sketches and more marvellous guests! Can't wait. Ta ra for now. Esther and Susie go Back to the Future and get high on 80s nostalgia in this week's episode of LTO. There are no Careless Whispers as these Uptown Girls try Holding Back the Years, and Relax with memories of the decade that gave us Roland Rat, Wacaday and Agadoo. Let's travel back in time Together In Electric Dreams. Lovely jubbly. The gals are joined this week by a very special guest. Singer songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and music legend Andrew Roachford MBE @roachfordmusic scored his first hit in the 80s with his band, Roachford and the timeless classic, Cuddly Toy. He hasn't stopped producing incredible music and released his most recent solo album in December 2023. Andrew also sings with Mike and the Mechanics. He received his MBE in 2019 for services to music. He chatted to E&S about music as communication; how he composes; and what it felt like to hang out at Buckingham Palace, and to perform in front of thousands at Wembley. It's a heartfelt, open and honest conversation, with plenty of giggles and a surprise guest appearance from his lovely mum's phone! It's treat to be in Andrew's company. Look out for live dates coming up later this year - roachford.co.uk With a sketch that will take you back, and a social media roundup of the most responses we've ever had (even though none of our listeners are old enough to remember the 80s...), this 'Nostalgia' special is Atomic and we hope you'll say I've Had The Time of My Life once you've heard it and a 'lorra lorra laughs' Competition: If you've read these shownotes share the episode on social media (handles below!) and tag us in, and send your postal address to limitedtimepodcast@gmail.com - we'll send you a prize! In this week's episode Esther & Susie showcase talents even they didn't know they had. And they probably don't. Let's just say, Eminem does NOT need to worry... They discuss talent v success, and if baby is born with it or if it's maybe-learnt. Again, Eminem does not need to worry! Thankfully someone with a tangible talent is their special guest this week. Namely, musician Sam Sweeney. Sam has been described as 'one of the defining English fiddle players of his generation' (Mark Radcliffe) and this was cemented when he won Musician of the Year at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Award in 2015 - his fourth time of being nominated. He is a veteran of folk juggernauts, Bellowhead, former and inaugural Artistic Director of the National Youth Folk Ensemble, a founder member of ground-breaking trio Leveret as well as a passionate and experienced educator. He has collaborated, recorded and performed with The Full English, Eliza Carthy, Martin Carthy, Jon Boden & The Remnant Kings, Fay Hield and Emily Portman as well as creating his own theatre production Made In The Great War. Sam's first two albums, The Unfinished Violin (Island Records) and Unearth Repeat (Hudson Records) were received with international acclaim. Sam is currently touring his third solo album, Escape That - tour dates. Sam's chat with the gals is wide-ranging and hugely entertaining. He tells them about joining the biggest folk band in the world aged 18, and how it feels to rock (folk) out at the Royal Albert Hall. He talks about his experiences in movies - Disney's live action 'Little Mermaid', and Richard Curtis's 'About Time'. There are some super questions from our wonderful listeners, and, as an extra treat, Sam performs live on the podcast! LTO's first live musical performance and it is magical. (Sam is available to tour when you need him, Arcade Fire - just putting that out into the universe!) With sketches, live music, surprising rapping and a joyful interview, this is an episode to savour. We hope you enjoy it! TRIGGER WARNING: This episode includes discussions about death and grief. This week Susie & Esther turn their attention to mortality. They discuss attitudes to death and mourning, and spend considerable time imagining the spectacular nature of their own funerals. Let's hope the Royal Albert Hall is available on the day... The special guest is SARAH GWONYOMA. You may know Sarah from her Instagram platform, @WhatSarahReadNext, where she reviews books, interviews authors and generally brings a lot of joy. The catalyst for this platform were some unimaginably painful life changing events. In 2017, whilst living in Fiji with her husband and young son, Sarah, having just suffered a twin miscarriage, lost her brother and her husband both unexpectedly, just months apart. Follow this up with a global pandemic and this led to Sarah reevaluating her life and her work in International Development. Now Sarah is back in the UK and living by the coast with her son, and What Sarah Read Next is an inspiring community for book lovers. Sarah is also working on her own book and has just launched her book club WHAT WE READ NEXT in association with the Hastings Bookshop The gals talk to Sarah about her resilience and positivity, how she has taken care of herself and her son through these experiences and the plans she has for her community. She's an inspiring woman and it's an honour to welcome her to LTO. With Sarah's energy, plus sketches, laughter and the promise of a sea swim, this episode is far from bleak. We hope you enjoy it. The radio accompanies us through our lives. Helping to define our eras; dragging us out of bed on a Monday morning; helping us through long drives; and becoming almost family! We grow up with our favourite radio DJs, following them as they move stations. And we jump around the dial depending on our mood. This week's episode is dedicated to all of this. Susie and Esther recreate DESERT ISLAND DISCS, subtly re-titled, SANDY ISLAND RECORDS... And the sketch is an homage to the radio. See if you can name the radio stations referenced! The special guest this week is a Radio Classic himself. The legendary BBC Radio 1 and Radio 6 Music DJ, STEVE LAMACQ. Steve wanted to be a DJ from a very young age and didn't imagine that it could actually happen! After a spell refereeing Under-12s football matches, journalism beckoned! He talks Esther and Susie through his early career and the dedication that has led to his position as the most respected DJ on radio. He also discusses his love of a certain radio drama! Cue the fireworks! That bit between Christmas and New Year is a time for munching through all the festive chocs while watching films you've seen 100 times before; considering jogging and deciding against it; and, the new tradition, listening to your favourite podcast - LIMITED TIME ONLY! Esther and Susie are stuffed to the gills on liquorice and turkey but thankfully haven't lost the ability to natter. They discuss resolutions, regifting and cheese rolling; provide a public service involving Auld Lang Syne (thanks to a surprise Scots visitor); and there's a rendition of Gaudete by the 16th Century's answer to the Von Trapp family...cassocks at the ready. The gals are joined by not one but TWO special guests. The guests are in the same room although they've never been seen in the same room at the same time! Work that out once you've heard them! CHRIS CLARKSON is an actor, singer, presenter, magician and all-round superstar. You name it, he's done it with gusto. Chris is currently in his 21st panto season - his eighth playing the coveted role of Dame. Chris chatted to Susie & Esther from his dressing room at the New Theatre Royal, Lincoln where he's appearing as Dame Ginger Spice in Aladdin. Have a look at the LTO social media accounts to see the full fabulousness of Chris / Ginger in costume! Have a very Happy New Year! It's Chriiiiiiiistmaaaaaas! And it's the inaugural LTO Christmas Special! Featuring a Christmas chat; a Christmas quiz; FOUR Christmas sketches; two giddy hosts; one amazing guest; and a partridge in a pear tree. Joining Esther and Susie for the Christmas Special is actress and comedian, Janice Connolly. Janice is a familiar face on television as Holy Mary in Phoenix Nights with Peter Kay; Rosie Colton in BBC 1's Doctors; and as her comedy alter ego, Mrs Barbara Nice who had the Britain's Got Talent judges in stitches in 2019. Janice has just stepped down from her role as Artistic Director of Women & Theatre - the award-winning Birmingham theatre company she co-founded. Janice chats to S&E about the company's pioneering work over the last 40 years; how her career in comedy started; what it's like appearing in BGT; and she generously guest stars as the Ghost of Christmas Past in the Dickens' themed sketches! Thank you so much, Janice! It's a bumper episode packed full of Christmas surprises. And if you fancy playing a game while listening, you could drink every time you hear the word 'sherry' - just try and keep up with Esther! What's the point? is a common refrain in Susie & Esther's households. They explain the various reasons why. And they're probably even weirder than you think. During the course of the conversation, Susie learns something. Everyday's a school day when chatting to Esther. They both learn lots while speaking to their first INTERNATIONAL GUEST! Australia-based British casting director, producer and all round marvel, Lisa Campbell Lisa was an actress in an international touring production of 'An Inspector Calls' with the National Theatre when she met her future husband, David Campbell at a party in Sydney. It was love at first sight. Lisa spent just 3 weeks back in the UK after the tour had finished before relocating Down Under to begin her new life. And she hasn't looked back! Lisa explains how saying 'yes' to opportunities she'd never imagined has brought fulfilment and happiness to her life. And what it's like casting a South Korean production of Moulin Rouge over Zoom. Lady Gaga would be impressed. Lisa is funny, fascinating and a force for good within the entertainment industry. It's a treat to listen to her. It's nearly winter and the hedgehogs are heading into hibernation, while the humans are heading into overdrive. In Episode 2 of Season Three, Esther and Susie explore the threat of burning out - a hot topic at the moment (see what we did there?!) This week's special guest is Hannah Miller - a Strengths-Based Coach who returns to LTO for the second time! (Susie and Esther are thrilled they didn't scare Hannah off in the first series!) Hannah's company is Sidekick which offers coaching, courses and community - 'the roadmap you need to build for the life you're looking for'. One of Hannah's courses is The Purpose Pursuit for people who feel stuck, at a crossroads, or who are navigating a change in their life. And who's not felt like that at some point? (every day?!) Hannah speaks so articulately about what Burnout and Boreout look like for different people. Hannah is a joy to listen and talk to, and you're guaranteed to feel better about everything once you've heard this interview. It's a change of seasons of LTO and the first episode is all about...changing seasons (how on earth did they come up with that?!) Esther & Susie chat stationary, darkness and self-sabotage in a chat that is as silly as you'd expect. With a fair bit of honesty chucked in for good measure. You may well be inspired to buy a planner and floss your teeth. And possibly do a press-up. In a twist of fate that 12 year old Susie would never have believed possible, the special guest for Episode 1 is Chesney Hawkes, who looks pretty much the same as he did in 1991. Chesney is the consummate guest - funny, inspiring with cracking rockstar anecdotes. He also has apparently endless patience. We still don't know where the balloons came from... As well as talking about Chesney's big break in Buddy's Song (including a terrifying audition in front of his idol, Pete Townshend) and how he came to sing the Nik Kershaw-penned The One and Only, Chesney tells Susie & Esther how he deals with stress, and about the joys of gigging with his son. Jesus Christ Superstar coming down from heaven on a Yamaha also features. 90s kids, that one's for you. As if to remind Susie & Esther why they called the podcast Limited Time Only, the final episode of the season has come around already. And to reinforce the point, the episode is all about the 1990s - a marvellous decade which began just a few years ago, right?! 32 years ago to be precise. Excuse us while we cry into our Hooch. All is not lost, however, as Susie & Esther discover solace as well as bittersweetness in remembering their youth. And are they actually still 16 in a parallel universe? Probably not. But who wants to do their GCSEs again anyway?! The final guest of Season 2 is pop royalty - H from the band, Steps! (Esther & Susie are still pinching themselves). Celebrating their 25th Anniversary this year, Steps are in the midst of a national tour; have just released another brand new single, Hard2Forget; and next month release their Platinum Collection album packed with their greatest hits from 1997 to 2022. It's still all go for the band whose music is the soundtrack to our 90s youth. As well as all this, H also presents his own weekly radio show on BBC Wales and is the father to 6 year old twins - the hardest job of all! H is an absolute delight - funny, generous and insightful. He speaks candidly about his experiences of growing up as a young gay man and how his same-sex pairing with Matt Evers in Dancing on Ice in 2020 was ground (and barrier) breaking. He tells us about the joy of being in Steps and how the band has always provided an inclusive, safe space for everyone. We hear about his hidden talents; his parenting tips; and who he thinks would win in a fight - S Club 7 or Steps?! H is everything you'd hope and more. A most wonderful guest. Enjoy! There's a return visit to the Sparks Joy gals, Barbara & Pamela as they take a flutter on some 90s clutter; a YouBash; gorgeous audience responses to the question, 'What are your happiest memories from the 90s?'; and...drum roll please...the winner of the inaugural LTO Audience Award is announced! We all have mental health, and this week Susie & Esther chat about their good and bad head days and what they do to nurture their noggins. Stillness helps, as does moving. But Esther's husband Ian puts them both to shame with a weekly 70 mile round trip on his bike (or has he just gone to the cinema?). Sharing top tips tête à tête, the gals go a bit French, breathe excessively and discover that to-do lists really shouldn't be 100 items long. Their guest this week is the inspirational Matt Campion, Creative Director of award-winning, Spirit Studios. Spirit produces original TV and digital content including programmes like Trigger Happy TV and The Stand Up Sketch Show; and a raft of podcasts including Jamie Laing's Private Parts. If they can have a biscuit" In Episode 5 of Season 2, Susie & Esther talk about physical fitness while staying completely stationary. It's safer that way. They admit to many failings of will power, stamina and general being-botheredness when it comes to keeping fit. And they make some bold promises to do fitness better. Or indeed, at all. Their guest this week is Philly Excell - movement professional, mum of 3 and an absolute delight. Philly runs Philly Fitness from her home in Henley, offering classes for women for toning, strength, increased flexibility and relieving stress. She tells Esther & Susie about how fitness has moved away from an obsession with losing weight to a desire to feel good and move freely without injury; her passion for helping new mums regain strength and confidence in their bodies; and how exercise shouldn't be a punishment, just moving your body is enough. Philly's relaxed, fun and effective workouts are now available to everyone through her online service Philly Fitness on Demand. She's funny, reassuring and inspiring - a wonderful guest. Check her out on Instagram @PhillyFitnessHenley for daily inspiration and fitness tips. With 2 sketches this week, a YouBash and the inaugural round of a quiz you'll never hear again, episode 5 is shaping up nicely. Just like Susie & Esther's underarms. And push up, 2, 3, 4. Biscuit time. Thank you for listening. Please share this episode with someone you think would like it too! We're already half way through Season 2 - where does the time go?! And how did we get here? This week, Susie & Esther consider these existential questions along with the prospect of ripping everything up and starting again. Attractive? Terrifying? Both? Rather like Susie & Esther themselves. And the other 7.7 billion people on the planet. Cor blimey. The gals discuss the moments in their lives when they have taken a leap and started afresh; procrastination and why it may be fear of success not failure that's stopping you; and the true meaning of a deadline (you won't look at the word in the same way again...). Their fabulous guest this week is Kelly Brown who really has ripped it up and started again. In 2019, Kelly left her job as Head of the Drama Department in a secondary school in Birmingham and relocated with her husband, chef Nigel Brown, and their two daughters to the beautiful Carlyon Bay, St Austell, Cornwall. Here they opened their restaurant, Edie's Kitchen. They opened just before the first lockdown and had to think fast and creatively in order to survive. And survive they did, and truly thrive. Edie's Kitchen is a Tripadvisor Traveller's Choice which means it is in the top 10% of restaurants reviewed on Tripadviser worldwide - that is remarkable. Kelly spoke to Esther & Susie about the challenges of running a restaurant (in and out of lockdown); what it's like to relocate your teenage daughter to a small town 250 miles away from her mates in her GCSE year; and about her own journey from a humble waitress to owning a restaurant by the sea, that is loved by tourists and locals alike. Kelly is so passionate about what she does, it's a joy to hear her story. And you'll want to book a table at Edie's Kitchen immediately... With sketches, a YouBash, an unusual quiz (as if it could be anything else) and a round-up of the brilliant audience responses to the question of the week on social media, episode 4 is sounding ripper, mate! This week's episode is dedicated to the programmes and films that have accompanied Susie & Esther, and the lovely LTO listeners, through their lives. The good, the bad and the ugly of TV shows and films (sorry in advance, Richard Curtis). The gals are delighted to be joined by actress, Sarah Smart. Hugely talented & versatile, Sarah's CV reads like a copy of the Radio Times and she has worked with the very best in the business. She talked to Esther & Susie about how her career started, and the roles she has most cherished. Sarah is fascinating, very funny and a treat to listen to. It wouldn't be LTO without sketches and a YouBash. And this week, there's plenty of competition for the audience trophy as the question 'What is your favourite programme?' drew loads of responses. It all leads Susie to conclude that she needs to watch more telly. And do less tidying. A motto for life perhaps. Thank you for listening. This week Susie & Esther shove their inhibitions aside, and chat jiggly bits. Contrary to all expectations, they are both ageing and this has brought with it a whole host of unexpected (and unwanted) developments on the body side of things. As they grow wiser, they grow less able to make any sudden movements without fear of injury. Despite their shortening muscles and receding gums, Esther & Susie are determined to big up their bad selves, and yours. The special guest for episode 2 is the lovely Fran Puddick. Fran was diagnosed with endometriosis at the age of 31 after suffering debilitating periods for 15 years. She was told she was in early-menopause and that she would not be able to have children. Fran talks frankly and with great humour and positivity about her diagnosis and how it affected her; her journey with IVF; the effects of menopause and what the partner of someone experiencing it can do to help. Fran's conversation is candid and real, with so much to smile and laugh about. A top guest indeed! There are two sketches for the price of one this week, a YouBash and a rather erudite quiz. I say! To top it all off are the first audience stories of the season in response to 'Tell us something you love about your body and why'. All the listeners who responded are in with a chance of winning the coveted trophy (it's pretty snazzy) for the best audience story of the season...you've gotta be in it to win it! We're back! Season 2 of Limited Time Only here we go... In the first episode of the new season, Susie & Esther discuss being a 'Jack(eline) of all trades' and the new-fangled phenomenon of 'multi-hyphenating'. Susie faces the fact that she can no longer realistically train to be a doctor or live in every country in the world. And Esther wonders whether she should be a mogul or a steam-train. One way or the other they're going to hyphen themselves up to a sufficient level for world domination. On social media at least. The first special guest of this season is the genuinely multi-hyphenating and very lovely, Sally Wood. Sally is a business owner - theatre & film producer -screenwriter - charity trustee - open water swimmer - mother of twins, and is married to Ronnie Wood of Rolling Stones fame. She chats to Esther & Susie about making things happen, facing her fears - both in and out of the English Channel - and having Willy Wonka's chocolate factory hidden under her house. Sally is a funny, insightful and inspiring guest with some great tips for taking ownership of your life and going for it. Check out Sally's company, Sweet Theatre for chocolate with drama (it's delicious!) With comedy sketches, a YouBash and a familiar little voice to keep Susie & Esther on track, episode 1 kicks the new season off with more than 3 hyphens. We hope you enjoy it! NB There may be one or two swears in this ep. It's the final episode of Season 1 and Esther & Susie are all about the hits and giggles. Hits of both the adrenalin and popular music variety. And all the giggles they can get. Susie is feeling a bit worse for wear. No, she hasn't been carousing - she's been carouseling. And Esther allows us a peak inside her subconscious where an unexpected visitor pops by once a week for a spot of rollerskating. The special guest this week knows all about hits and giggles. Jo Coffey is a 4ft 2 disabled comedian, writer and actress who is a regular in comedy clubs up and down the country. As an actress she has worked on several films directed by Kenneth Branagh, including Artemis Fowl and has recently appeared in a recurring role in EastEnders on BBC One. She's had three successful Edinburgh festival stand up shows and was due to appear at the Underbelly this year, she's also presented on Big Brother's Bit on the Side and Little Brother. Jo's stories are fascinating, hilarious and hugely enjoyable. You're in for a treat. We hope you enjoy this final ep of Season 1. Thank you so much for listening, sharing and reviewing. Featuring Gregory Piper aka Line of Duty's 'Ryan Pilkington' In Episode 6, Esther & Susie shine the Limited Time Only spotlight / miniature handheld torch on the subject of joy. With surprising chats and sketches taking in joyful topics such as discos; 1990s fashion mishaps; hobbies; and folk music, this episode is a little dose of ear joy. The LTO guest this week has brought joy to millions. He is the lovely and talented Gregory Piper - the young actor who first made his mark in Season 1 of the BBC's smash hit series, Line Of Duty aged only 13. Returning to Line Of Duty for season 5 and 6, Gregory lit up our television screens as Ryan Pilkington, the villain we all loved to hate. Although Ryan's future was cut short, Gregory's is looking bright. He chatted to Susie & Esther about when he started acting; how he got the part of Ryan; and he gave plenty of inside info on LOD, the OCG & AC-12. So let's get this episode started. Beeeeeeeeeeep. Featuring Paul Ready aka Motherland's 'Kevin' NB: Some swear words appear in this episode. We blame the parents. This week, Esther & Susie enjoy moaning about / robustly discussing parenthood. They mull over the physical, emotional and mental punishment inflicted on parents by their tiny bosses / children. And of course, how lovely they are. No topic is off limits as our hosts relive their finest parenting moments. Strap yourselves in - parenthood is always a bumpy ride. Special guest this week is actor Paul Ready. A star of theatre, film, radio and television, Paul is best known for playing Rob Macdonald in Jed Mercurio's Bodyguard, Harry Goodsir in The Terror and Kevin in hit BBC comedy, Motherland. He is also a dad. With the help of some cracking audience questions, Susie & Esther chat to Paul about parenting, school plays and of course, Motherland. Paul is a super guest - enjoy! Sketches, a You Bash, and the sharing of your (the Limited Time Only audience's) funniest parenting stories complete episode 5. Thank you for listening. Heads up: this episode contains a few s-bombs. This week Esther & Susie have had enough of being modest, self-deprecating and timid. They are giving their horns a good old toot instead. And they're encouraging you to have a toot too. With discussions covering middle class urine sample solutions, imposter syndrome and the Oscars, our hosts explore what it is that makes some people so down on bigging themselves up (and wonder whether airline pilots ever have a mid-flight confidence wobble). Wouldn't we all love to know what our purpose is? What our strengths are and how to identify them? This episode's guest knows exactly how to help find the answers to those questions. Hannah Miller is a career coach, inspirational speaker and the founding director of Sidekick Hannah tells us how once you know what your strengths are you can understand them, lean into them and become the hero of your own story. You can find Hannah @hannahloumiller on all platforms. As well as all this (toot), there's also a You Bash, a visit to a familiar intimidating leather chair and some glorious horn blowing from the Limited Time Only audience. Thank you for listening. This week, Esther & Susie discuss the perils and merits of social media (aka SM; Social; the rabbit hole you get sucked into when you should be doing something useful). They can't quite decide if they like their phones or not although they are great for listening to podcasts so let's not all chuck them out just yet. Always up for a challenge, our hosts undertook / suffered a Social Media Abstinence for an entire week. They recorded their progress / pain. Listen out for the matching Big Brother impressions. Here to help Susie & Esther cope better with modern technology is their wonderful guest, Hannah Hassack. Hannah is a social media genie who believes that social media is about human connection, not numbers, and that a holistic, personalised approach is how businesses and individuals alike can really get the best out of it. We join Esther and Susie, who are getting on a bit. They explore what most worries / excites them about this unavoidable fact of life. They play the inaugural, best, and possibly final round of the quiz, 'How Old?' where Esther shows off her uncanny ability to recall the birthdays of absolutely everyone. You can also expect a light smattering of comedy sketches. Their honoured guest is Melanie Hamilton. Aged 57, Melanie resigned from her job as a secretary to follow her lifelong dream of being a professional actress. She'd taken another leap in her 40s - upping sticks with her family and moving to France where they lived happily for several years.
