This week is a tough one for Willow. First, she's getting forced to tutor an entitled douchebro by Snyder, then, she's ordered to hack into the mayor's files by Giles, and worst of all, she's left out of fun plans because she's so reliable and BORING! (Balthazar's wording, not ours!)Determined to do SOMETHING for herself, she teams up with Anya to practice a lil witchcraft, but of course shit doesn't go according to plan and they accidentally summon Vampire Willow from the Wishiverse who causes all sorts of confusion and chaos in Sunnydale. Rewatch, listen & laugh as we fangurl about how FUCKING incredible Alyson Hannigan is, check in to see if the Xander character rehab tour of 1999 is working, and we get a brief glimpse of Granny Deliah! Welcome to the Boys Watching Buffy Podcast! On this episode, the Boys discuss Willow helping Anya cast a spell to regain her wish powers which ends up transporting Vampire Willow to present-day Sunnydale. The Boys also dive into Buffy showing off her quick reflexes, The Mayor giving Faith a kickass new place, and Cordelia asking out Wesley Wyndam-Price. Plus Joe and Vance applaud Alyson Hannigan's performance and contend that it's impossible for the people of Sunnydale to not know Vampires exist. Season 3, Episode 16: Doppelgangland. The Buffy Straya gang throw all restraint to the wind in this very quotable episode and basically do everything but recite the whole script verbatim. Everyone agrees the episode is great, but Chris's slightly milder reaction suggests this one might be EVEN better on the rewatch. The extra CGI in the episode doesn't do the HD version any favours and Mabel is extra thankful to be the only one in the gang still on the DVDs. Willow is tired of being the reliable one: the reliable friend, reliable tutor, reliable Wicca. Why should Buffy be the only one who gets to be a bad girl and an accessory to murder? Willow can eat her banana whenever she wants, even outside of lunchtime! Thanks to a misstep with Anya, Willow gets a chance to see what she would truly be like as a bad girl—and Oz and the rest of her friends think they have lost her forever. Hear us discuss… Snyder's exploitation of Willow continues Faith now has what we all want: a PlayStation Poor Anya just wants to do vengeance again Finally, Cordelia gets the chance to say her piece! Gilmore Girls S3 E16: "The Big One"/Buffy S3 E16: "Doppelgangland" When Principal Snyder asks Willow to tutor Percy, and Headmaster Charleston asks Paris to share a speech with Rory, both react by showing their bad side, getting their sexy on, and turning celebratory gatherings into spectacles all about them. Lorelai and Cordelia trap people into giving them relationship closure. And Bryan tells all about the "clench and hold" method. In this extremely belated episode of Fire Bad, Tree Pretty, Amanda and Lydia discuss S03E16 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, "Doppelgangland." Points of interest: The Hoff, Why and how is Anya still going to high school?, Google corner: TATs, projectile pencils, yelling about the black arts in public spaces, The Sunnydale High School Breeding Program, Push It Gently, Willow’s style theme is "fuzzy,", Giles and his lollipop, Yampire Willow, even... OLD PEOPLE, a little part of Angel wants to be the Dingoes roadie, Willow’s undercover op/therapy session, hands in new places, Percival Douchebag the Third, just the grossest trivia, dressed to seduce a book, a wank of watchers, and our most burning question: where does Anya live??
Say, you all didn’t happen to do a bunch of drugs, did ya? We’re seeing double as Willow faces down her dark side in one of the best episodes of Buffy ever to grace the small screen, Doppelgangland! (S3.16)

Willow has an existential crisis and faces her vampire double. Stephanie is repeat-o girl. Brad is still a captive audience.
“It’s really nice that you guys miss me. Say, y’all didn’t happen to do a bunch of drugs, didja?” This week I remind everyone how awful I am by utterly and completely blanking on the name of that one amazing series where Tatiana Maslany gets to play a bunch of clones of herself. I’m sorry, I’m the worst. Joining me in spite of my awfulness is fabulous French philosopher (and soon-to-be-published author) Matthieu Cravatte. We discuss the mirroring and doubling of characters in 316, “Doppelgangland,” real vs. performative trauma in Faith’s arc through 317, “Enemies,” and Oz’s normally sardonic humor getting a really chilling twist in 318, “Earshot.” Plus, after breaking our hearts last week, sugared up mocha Willow brings the adorable back, and Wesley schools all y’all on how to ACTUALLY pronounce Angelus. Also, somehow, in the midst of trying to get my guest to promote himself, I wind up pimping my own stuff...because as we’ve already learned, I am literally the worst. It's finally a Willow episode, this week on Pop Culture Role Call! We are seeing double in Sunnydale, after Willow and Spin Witch get magical. An attempt to summon an otherworldly necklace instead brings forth a vampiric doppelganger. Thanks for listening!
This week, Faith and Buffy experience the consequences of a slaying gone wrong, putting them both under suspicion from the police and pitting Faith against the Scoobies and the Watchers' Council. Later, Anya is still stuck in Sunnydale and in high school, and her attempt to regain her power brings Vampire Willow into existence, causing mayhem, confusion, and general delight for everyone. Bored now.

We have a fan favorite this week, Gentle Listeners! "Doppelgangland" much like it's counterpart episode "The Wish" this episode is a wild romp, where we meet an alternate reality version of one of our fave scoobies and we get to know the stressed out Anya better (Give that girl a beer). Join us and our delightful guest babe Eli as we discuss if we would have sex with an alternate reality version of ourselves (spoiler alert: 2 of us are all the way in) and as we discuss "Is this kink shaming?" (Verdict yes, yes it is). Suggested Talking Points: Sitting Thigh to Thigh, The Man with the Bone, Clone Sex, Heavy Boobs, Giles After hours, Sports Athletes
okay, so we've more or less given up on the idea that the police or FBI or INTERPOL or WHOEVER will come to sunnydale. but surely the IRS would be all up in the mayor's business for using government funds to buy faith an apartment?? like we're not crazy for thinking this, right? or is sunnydale a completely lawless wasteland where government entities never deign to go?? we have so many questions. also this episode is good but mostly the IRS thing.
This week we're chatting about Vamp Willow (and why people ship her with Real Willow), the resurgence of Anya, and the beginning of an interesting relationship between Faith and The Mayor in episode 316, "Doppelgangland" For more Hot Chicks with[out] Supepowers check out: Hannah has been watching iZombie starring Rose McIver as a crime-solving, brain-eating, bleached-hair-rocking zombie mortician. With an important test coming up, Willow is tasked with bringing up one of Sunnydale High's most prominant athletes. But when our mellow witch of the west starts getting pulled in every direction, she teams up with demon-gone-teenager Anya to cast a spell, bringing Willow's vampire doppleganger into this universe. Can the gang stop a fanged plot at the Bronze or will AU Willow sink her teeth into the gang? Join us as we chat about our dopplegangers, drinking at the Bronze, Kardashians (pro/against?), feminism, and Chris's most disappointing Halloween memory. We're seeing double! and the return of Craig (aka Andrea's best friend Craig) to the podcast! It's a Willow-centric episode, and I think anyone who's listened to the podcast knows how Amanda feels about this. For the first time in a while Andrea has some STRONG feelings about fashion. (that aren't overall related!)
In Consequences, Buffy and Faith have very different ways of processing the death of the Mayor's Aide. Buffy can't take the guilt - she pleads to Faith that they confess, while Faith prefers to blame it all on her partner. The Scoobies try to confront Faith with compassion, but Wesley and the Watcher goons choose a harsher punishment. Kristen and Mike discuss the arc of the Angel/Faith relationship, and Willow's redundant melodrama. In Doppelgangland, Willow is sick and tired of being a doormat, so she jumps at the opportunity to help Anya do a spell. But something goes wrong, and the girls summon Willow's evil vampire double from another dimension! As Vamp Willow holds the Bronze clientele hostage, the Scoobies use her sweet-natured double in a trap. We examine Vamp Willow's foreshadowing, and try to resist quoting the entire episode.
This week, Anya's spell goes awry and brings back a fan-favorite character in the brilliant Doppelgangland (3.15)!
