We're back with another episode of Glory Days of Gold, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast recorded across two continents! We've seen it all from East Fife in their last two matches. The good, the bad, and the ugly all played out over 180 minutes of football. A heavy 5-2 loss at Edinburgh last weekend was certainly the ugly side of the team's season, sucking the hope out of fans and leaving us wondering whether we were even going to get promoted, never mind lifting the Scottish League 2 championship. We needed to see a response this past weekend against The Spartans, but by half time, another bad display that saw them trail by two seemed to have the wheels not so much fallen off, but melted down and thrown away. Then came the good. The very good. Almost the sublime, as East Fife put in a second half for the ages, playing free-flowing silky soccer, scoring four goals, and coming away with a 4-2 victory and a massive three points. Michael, Doug, Gordon, and Andrew are back to try and make sense about the last fortnight of action and what lies ahead down the stretch. Just what East Fife from the last two weeks are we going to see in the next five? Has the ship been steadied? If they play like they did in the second half against Spartans, can anyone stop them?

A poor run of results and some horrible performances was capped off by a horrorshow of a 3-0 loss at home to Stranraer on Saturday. Doug, Gordon, Aaron, and Andrew are back to chat about the current plight down Bayview way. Is all the good work getting undone? Surely the team aren't going to throw it all away at this late stage. Things clearly need to change, but will the Campbells make the necessary ones? A big match up in the capital is next up where we'll find out.

We're back with another episode of Glory Days of Gold, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast recorded across two continents. What a week it's been since the last podcast! East Fife put in a poor performance in a 1-0 loss at Elgin City, a display that led to manager Greig McDonald walking away from the job after just over 15 months in charge. 24 hours later his replacement was announced - lower league managerial legend Dick Campbell. Campbell's appointment has filled the Fife fanbase with enthusiasm, excitement, and real hope for the future, buoyed by recent news that the proposed fan takeover of the club has taken a major step forward. Is this the turning point in the club's long and illustrious history that we've waited for and feared may never come? However everything plays out, there's a definite feelgood factor today amongst the black and gold faithful. Michael, Lee, Gordon, and Andrew are back to chat about a dramatic few days down Bayview way.

We're back with another episode of Glory Days of Gold, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast recorded across two continents! East Fife's unbeaten start to the new year came to a crashing halt with an insipid 3-0 loss to Spartans on Tuesday night, leaving them hoping for a midtable finish at best with three months of the season still to play. Michael, Doug, Aaron, and Andrew are back to chat about the match and our thoughts on the current state of the club, and future strategies, as the next two years feel massive for the direction the club takes.

We're back with another episode of Glory Days of Gold, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast recorded across two continents! East Fife are unbeaten in 2024. Sure it's only one game, but they went on the road and got a big, and deserved, three points at Dumbarton. A fantastic victory, but one they need to build on next week against Clyde as they remain closer to the drop than the playoffs. Is it finally a turning point to the season or another false dawn? Michael, Lee, Doug, and Aaron are back to chat about the match, give our thoughts on Greig McDonald's interview in the last episode, and look at the need to now push on to stop looking over our shoulders at the relegation battle below us. Plus we hand out some awards and share some Bayview related memories from 2023.

It's our first show of 2024, so we needed to make it a special one and we have, as we bring you a 90-minute chat with East Fife manager Greig McDonald. We sit down with Greig to chat about the difficult first half of the season, discuss the current standing of the club, and look ahead to the future. Is he the right man to lead the club forward? Why can't we beat a playoff chasing team? Was the favourites tag unrealistic pressure? Why have the wheels come off? We chat about all of this and a lot more. Happy New Year!

We're back with another episode of Glory Days of Gold, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast recorded across two continents! A winning run and East Fife have not been happy bedfellows this season. Every time you hope the team may have turned a corner, you find out they're still in a square. But are they starting to finally show signs of life and a turnaround in fortunes could be on the cards? Michael, Lee, and Doug are back to chat about the win over Elgin and the loss to Stenhousemuir. Are we only going to be able to beat teams around or below us and if so, how tough will it be to get fans through the turnstiles next year for a lower third side with little to really play for? Sitting 10 points off the playoffs with 21 games remaining, there's still a lot of time to turn that around, but can Greig McDonald do that and what help will he need in the January transfer window to make that happen? We chat about all of that and say a sad farewell to a couple of East Fife stalwarts who passed away since the last episode. Plus we look at Scotland's draw for next year's Euros in Germany.

We're back with another episode of Glory Days of Gold, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast recorded across two continents, and for this episode across three countries - Scotland, Spain, and Canada! Things are looking bleak down Bayview way. East Fife are languishing down the bottom of Scottish League 2, they're out of all the cups, the players look clueless and out of ideas at times in matches, a growing section of supporters want manager Greig McDonald out, and the Board are being questioned by the fanbase about how the club is being run in all aspects off the pitch. Was the weekend win over Clyde going to be a false dawn that just papered over the cracks or that much awaited turning point to the season? A midweek loss at Bonnyrigg Rose maybe gave us that answer. Things are dire, enthusiasm is waning, and there are major concerns about the direction the club is heading. Things need to change and they need to change fast. Is a new manager the answer? New players, new tactics, new blood in the boardroom? Is the attempted fan over by the East Fife Supporters Society going to help or hamper any turnaround? Where is the development pathway for our young talent to come through? Michael, Doug, Gordon, and Aaron are back to chat about all of that and more in the latest episode, and there's a LOT to talk about and get off our chests.

We're back with another episode of Glory Days of Gold, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast recorded across two continents. East Fife bagged a big 4-0 win over Stranraer on Saturday. The sign of turning the corner or just a very poor visiting side. Probably a bit from Column A and a bit from Column B, but Connor McManus was certainly blowing up a storm with his performance. There was a lot to be pleased about and with two cup ties against lower league opposition coming up, could the Fife be on the verge of going on something of run? After just 165 rest days, the Tour d'Écosse resumed in Bonnyrigg in late September for the final stretch of the journey taking in the remaining Scottish Football League grounds. The route director had to re-draw the course over the summer because Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic became the newest members of the Scottish League after winning promotion at Cowdenbeath's expense in May. And so, instead of picking up where they left off in Alloa in April, Lionel and Simon head to Bonnyrigg, which is just south of Edinburgh for the first of six stages that would take them all the way north to Dingwall. We find out what connects Bonnyrigg to James Bond 007, we cross through the Scottish capital and, with the Netflix Tour de France series currently in production, hear from filmmaker Finlay Pretsell about the challenges of making documentaries about professional cycling. Then it's over the Forth Road Bridge again – no confusion about how to get across the water this time – picking up a dotwatcher or two on the way, before reaching East Fife.
