Big Sky Astrology Podcast

This week: A birthday milestone for the podcast, and another week full of transits! As Mars squares the Lunar Nodes, prepare to move toward your future. Mercury conjoins Venus on a whimsical degree, and Venus trines Jupiter and Saturn; Saturn turns direct on Thanksgiving Day, and Mercury turns direct a couple of days later. A Pisces First Quarter Moon could bring a crisis of faith; and Venus finishes her busy week and her time in Scorpio with an opposition to Uranus and a trine to Neptune, before entering merry Sagittarius. And unfortunately, this is another week that is so full of aspects to talk about that, once again, there's no time for a listener question! Plus: Making camp, the places that fit us, and sacred arts. Read a full transcript of this episode. Have a question you'd like answered on the show? Email April or leave it here! Subscribe to April's mailing list and get a free lunar workbook at each New Moon! Love the show? Make a donation! [1:48] A Big Sky Astrology Podcast milestone! This week marks six years since April and co-host Jen Braun aired the very first episode on Nov. 26, 2019. [2:39] Mars squares the Lunar Nodes (Nov 24, 5:32 am PST) Mars in Sagittarius jolts us out of Virgo South Node perfectionism and toward the Pisces North Node's realm of faith, imagination, and possibility. Even small steps toward our dreams bring rewards—even if they don't look exactly like we imagine. [5:09] Mercury conjunct Venus (Nov 24, 5:52 pm PST, 22°45' Scorpio). On the whimsical Sabian symbol, A bunny metamorphosed into a fairy, Mercury and Venus merge their magic in transformative Scorpio. Through what we love—and how we summon it verbally—we encounter opportunities for Scorpionic metamorphosis. [6:50] Venus forms harmonious trines to Jupiter in Cancer (Nov 26, 8:31 am PST) and Saturn in Pisces (Nov. 26, 3:48 pm PST). Venus–Jupiter: Pleasure, ease, and maybe a little luck—if we're willing to look beneath the surface. Venus–Saturn: Clarity around needs vs. wants. Themes of self-reliance, wisdom, and sufficiency arise. Venus' Sabian symbols: 25 Scorpio, An X-ray, and 26 Scorpio, Indians making camp. [9:30] Saturn Turns Direct (Nov 27, 7:51 pm PST, 25°09' Pisces). After months of inward restructuring, Saturn emerges direct on Sabian symbol 26 Pisces, A new moon that divides its influences, symbolizing new beginnings and individuation. [11:15] Pisces First Quarter Moon (Nov 27, 10:59 pm PST, 6°17' Sagittarius/ Pisces). A call to action on intentions seeded at the Scorpio New Moon (Nov 19). Sagittarian certainty meets Piscean feeling—what action feels like the right next step? [13:47] This is the First Quarter phase in a Lunar Phase Family cycle that began at the Pisces New Moon (9º40' Pisces) of Feb 27, 2025. What were you dreaming of then? Now's the time to take action. Future critical moments in this cycle: Full Moon on Aug 27, 2026 (4º54' Pisces), Last Quarter on May 28, 2027 (7º01' Pisces). [16:11] Void-of-Course Moon Periods. Nov 25: Moon in Capricorn sextiles Neptune (1:10 am PST) and is VOC for one hour, 5 minutes before entering Aquarius at 2:15 am PST. The pragmatism and organization of the Capricorn Moon provides a strong structure for Neptune's intuition. [17:00] Moon in Aquarius squares Uranus (Nov 27, 9:53 am PST) and is VOC for 1 hour 31 minutes before entering Pisces (11:24 am PST). No matter how unconventional we consider ourselves to be, there are times we'd still like to fit in. [18:47] Moon in Pisces conjoins Neptune (Nov 29, 4:05 pm PST). It's VOC for 1 hour and 2 minutes, then enters Aries (5:07 pm PST). Go within and see what you find there. [19:33] Mercury Stations Direct (Nov 29, 9:38 am PST, 20°42' Scorpio). Retrograde since Nov 9, Mercury turns direct—but with “retrograde residue” through Dec 16. April shares her thoughts on Mercury retrograde “confirmation bias” and her plan to track Mercury mishaps while it's direct. [21:55] Venus Opposes Uranus (Nov 29, 6:48 pm PST, 29º05' Scorpio-Taurus, Sabian Symbols 30 Scorpio: Halloween jester and 30 Taurus: Peacock parading on an ancient lawn.  A nudge to question outside influences on money, values, and desire. What do you truly want—not what society says you should? [24:07] Venus Trine Neptune (Nov 30, 12:48 am PST, 29º24' Scorpio-Pisces). A dreamy, romantic, and potentially bewildering transit. Wonderful for release and spiritual clarity—just take care not to idealize the wrong person, purchase, or path. [25:32] Venus Enters Sagittarius (Nov 30, 12:14 pm PST). Through Christmas Eve, Venus revels in adventure, cultural exploration, music, and the great outdoors. Perfect for discovering beauty in unexpected places. [27:50] Another packed week of planetary activity leaves no room for listener questions—April promises they will return soon! JOIN SHERI HORN HASAN @ https://www.karmicevolution.com/astrologically-speaking FOR THIS WEEK'S “ASTROLOGICALLY SPEAKING!” PODCAST WHICH DROPS OCTOBER 24!We're in the early waxing stage of the monthly lunar cycle begun with the Libra New Moon—which formed a grand cross as it opposed the chaos-causing wounds via Chiron & Eris, & squared Jupiter as it opposed Pluto--on October 21.This posed tensions around the area of partnership. Pluto represents power & control, as well as joint resources & other peoples' money, among other things. Since the Sun's been in Scorpio since October 22, it's now ruled by Pluto. So, as the Scorpio Sun squares Pluto in Aquarius October 24, we've already seen power plays, particularly those related to money, including taxpayer's money (read: other peoples' money) & its effect on the U.S. economy.Meanwhile, President Donald Trump is taking corporate donors' money to fund his $200M 90,000 square foot ballroom addition to the White House & has already begun the destruction of the East Wing there. Nothing speaks more clearly to the fact that million & billionaires now influence government policy than this. As my Capricorn mother used to say: “He who has the money has the power.” I hate to admit now that she was right. Consider the symbolism: As the president of the United States takes corporate money to destroy a part of the White House—known as “the people's house,” do we not realize that this is what's happening now to the U.S. Government? The heavens are reflecting back to us the power plays occurring here in the U.S. as the government remains shutdown & funding for many different services—such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) which feeds millions of poor people & their children in all 50 states—run out of funds November 1.Meanwhile, the destruction of the East Wing, made possibly by rich peoples' donations, tells us that something is not right here. By the time Mercury enters Sagittarius & we reach the first quarter lunar “crisis in action” square of the Aquarius Moon to the Scorpio Sun October 29, will even more than the seven million people who attended No Kings Day peaceful protests be called to action?K, there's a lot more Astro News You Can Use—including more about the repercussions of the Mercury/Mars conjunction in Scorpio last week, Mercury's entrance into exaggerative Sagittarius, & this first quarter lunar square in this week's podcast, so be sure to tune in starting today October 24 @ https://www.karmicevolution.com/astrologically-speaking Till then, namaste…

We're back with another episode of Glory Days of Gold, the East Fife and Scottish football podcast recorded across two continents! Things are ticking along quite nicely down Bayview way. East Fife are in the top four, everyone is looking up the table and not over their shoulders below them, and there's quite a bit of contentment at the end of the first quarter of the season, despite the injuries that's hit the team this season. Michael, Gordon, Doug, and Andrew look back at the last couple of weeks that's seen East Fife win one, draw one, and lose one in league play, look at who the standout performers have been for the team, chat about the rest of the runners and riders in Scottish League One, and there's even time to chat about Scotland and their upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

This week: Venus makes sweet music with Mars, enters Virgo, and finds beauty in unexpected places with Uranus. Mercury aspects serious Saturn, enters diplomatic Libra, gives voice to Neptune, and gains inspiration from Uranus before getting down and dirty with Pluto. The Sun's face-off with Saturn dominates the Virgo New Moon Solar Eclipse at the intense 29th degree. And there is so much to cover in the sky this week that there was no time for a listener question - but look for an answer to a listener question about a Mercury Retrograde-ish eclipse, on Big Sky Astrology's YouTube channel! Order your copy of my "Followed by a Moonshadow" eclipse report! Have a question you'd like answered on the show? Email April or leave it here! Subscribe to April's mailing list and get a free lunar workbook at each New Moon! Timestamps [1:37] Venus sextiles Mars (Mon. Sep. 15, 8:04 pm PDT, 25º51' Leo-Libra), unlocking inspiration, stirring attraction, and providing financial motivation. The Sabian symbol for Venus is 26 Leo, A rainbow, and Mars is on 26 Libra, An eagle and a large white dove turning one into the other. [4:03] Mercury opposes Saturn (Wed. Sep. 17, 10:47 am PDT, 28º46' Virgo-Pisces), on the Sabian symbols 29 Virgo, A man gaining secret knowledge from a paper he is reading and 29 Pisces, A prism. Reviewing our goals and the stories we tell about them. Delays in travel possible, along with discouraging news. [6:10] Mercury enters Libra on Thu. Sep. 18 (3:06 am PDT, through Oct. 6), and communication is characterized by grace, balance, and tact. An excellent time for negotiations, handling difficult interpersonal situations, persuading others to see things your way. Avoid argumentativeness. [7:35] Mercury opposes Neptune on Thu. Sep. 18 (3:01 pm PDT, 0°53' Libra-Aries). Strong intuition, ideal for artwork, love, spiritual pursuits, but less suited for logic or analysis. [8:29] Mercury trines Uranus on Thu. Sep. 18 (9:52 pm PDT, 1°23' Libra- Gemini). The desire to feel free to say exactly what's on our mind can lead to ill-advised blurting, but it's also a transit of awakening and clarification. [9:50] Mercury trines Pluto on Thu. Sep. 18 (11:27 pm PDT, 1°30' Libra-Aquarius). Mercury with Pluto brings up stark truths we need face. This is a transit of profound insight if we're willing to confront those realities. [11:20] Venus enters Virgo on Fri. Sep. 19 (5:39 am PDT, through Oct. 13). Venus is traditionally in her fall in Virgo because she is exalted in the opposite sign, Pisces. Venus in Virgo favors healthy food, tools, and organizational supplies. Socially, Venus here favors casual, low-key get-togethers, ideally outdoors. [12:55] Venus squares Uranus on Sat. Sep. 20 (8:41 am PDT, 1º22' Virgo-Gemini. The Sabian symbol for Venus is 2 Virgo, A large white cross upraised; Uranus is on 2 Gemini, Santa Claus filling stockings furtively. Socializing can be awkward, changes and disruptions possible in finances or relationships. [14:38] The Sun opposes Saturn on Sat. Sep. 20 (10:46 pm PDT, 28°30' Virgo-Pisces). Have compassion towards yourself and others, and develop persistence. [16:27] Moon Report! A second consecutive Virgo New Moon (the first was on Aug. 22 at 00º23' Virgo) is on Sun. Sep. 21 (12:54 pm PDT, at 29º05' Virgo, and it's a Solar Eclipse. The Sabian symbol for this eclipse point is 30 Virgo, A false call unheard in attention to immediate service. Communication, thoughts, and even movement have extra power around this time. [18:20] The New Moon point is trine Uranus, so the changes associated with eclipses could arrive suddenly or unexpectedly. An eclipse that's close to the South Node in Virgo emphasizes endings, release, letting go, being a little bit too perfectionistic or judgmental. Move toward the Pisces North Node's acceptance and willingness to go with the flow. [19:35] Solar Eclipses repeat on about the same day of the year and close to the same degree of the zodiac every 19 years. Previously, there were Solar Eclipses near this point on Sep. 22, 2006, and on Sep. 23, 1987. [20:34] This is the New Moon in a lunar phase family cycle (LPFC) that will unfold over the coming three years. The First Quarter (first action point) of this LPFC will be on June 21, 2026, at 0º32' Libra. The Full Moon (awareness point) is on March 22, 2027, at 1º35' Libra. And the Last Quarter Moon (final action point) is on December 20, 2027, at 28º14' Virgo. [22:39] Void-of-Course (VOC) Moon periods. On Tue. Sep. 16, the Moon in Cancer trines Saturn (8:14 pm PDT), goes VOC for 2 hours, 6 minutes, and then enters Leeeeeooooo (10:20 pm PDT). Fortify your living space via a cleansing ritual. [23:48] On Fri. Sep. 19, the Moon in Leo conjoins Venus (5:21 am PDT). It's VOC for 2 minutes, then enters Virgo (5:23 am PDT). Try a quick, fun morning activity such as doodling, brainstorming ideas, pulling a tarot card, or some sort of puzzle to get the creative juices flowing. [24:52] On Sun. Sep. 21 (12:54 pm PDT), the Moon in Virgo conjoins the Sun. It's VOC for 1 hour 47 minutes and enters Libra (2:41 pm PDT). This is the New Moon Solar Eclipse. “Devotion” is the word for this VOC Moon period. [25:32] This week's listener question is available as a YouTube video! Keep those questions flowing! JOIN SHERI HORN HASAN @ https://www.karmicevolution.com/astrologically-speaking FOR THIS WEEK'S ASTROLOGICALLY SPEAKING PODCAST WHICH DROPS AUGUST 29!  We're now heading into the first quarter monthly lunar square late August 30/early the 31st, according to your time zone, since the August 22/23 Virgo New Moon which urged us to take care of ourselves in order to be healthy enough to then be of service to others. However what's become overwhelmingly clear since then is how this lunation also asked us to plant seeds that lead to greater discernment, aka, becoming true critical thinkers. As we're doing this, more numbers—statistics & data—are emerging making us more consciously aware of using our ability to discern what's fact & what's fiction. As always, this podcast looks back before moving forward to better see clearly in hindsight what energies have triggered what might come next. So, as we waxed toward the Sun/Uranus square August 24, Venus entered Leo August 25--& then exact opposed Pluto in Aquarius August 26/27—we've experienced some shocks & surprises. One related to the plan to infiltrate of federal troops into Chicago, others related to firings of top officials at the Federal Reserve Bank, & the Centers for Disease Control (CDC)--& yet another violent school shooting in Minneapolis, Minnesota. As we move toward a more “tell it like it is” phase of discernment as part of this Virgo New Moon monthly lunar cycle, we're experiencing also the intensity of emotions around such events. This podcast looks at the factual events that have occurred this past week, including the Venus/Pluto opposition's position in the U.S. Sibly natal chart & its relationship to capitalism as we're still undergoing the U.S. Pluto return's already triggered energies. This podcast discusses the intensity of the backlash by blue state's governor's against President Trump's current power grabs, as well as the VE/PL opposition's repercussions to limit the foundational freedom of governmental agencies & others. We also witnessed the firing by President Trump of the Federal Reserve board member, Lisa Cook, on a “non-proven” claim of mortgage fraud, thus endangering the independence of the U.S. federal bank which its had since its inception.Likewise for Trump's firing of the head of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) now under the control of vaccine denier Health & Human Secretary Robert F. Kennedy's control. More children will now contract & possibly die from Covid, which is currently rising now as we approach the fall, as the CDC, now filled with kooks & non-medically trained sycophants. Measles diagnoses, once thought under control in the U.S., has also been rising slowly but steadily in the recent past too.All of this as we approach the upcoming wounded healer Chiron's conjunction to Eris, the goddess of discord, chaos, & strife by October 9. That these two, both now retrograde in Aries, will conjoin again next year, does not bode well for calm & continuity in the short term as we finish out this year & begin the next one.  Then there's the horrible mass school shooting in Minneapolis, MN, after the Venus/Pluto opposition perfected on August 27 that sparked yet again the call for “thoughts & prayers” for the two children shot to death & the 17 others wounded in the church of the Annunciation Catholic school there. Reality bites, as they say, & when Uranus sextiled Neptune August 28, we received the opportunity to grow in consciousness, assuming we recognized the facts that led to any revelations born out of reliable Virgoan statistics & data. The question becomes: Are people waking up to not only the creeping authoritarianism in this country AND that it's time to FINALLY legislate effective gun control. This sextile notes that the universe can lead us to the waters of consciousness, but it cannot make us drink. Meanwhile, the first quarter monthly lunar square of the Sagittarius Moon to the Virgo Sun August 30/31 reveals the tension between Sadge Moon's urging expansion of our critical thinking skills to “call a spade a spade versus the quest of the Virgo Sun for “perfection.” The latter represents “telling it like it is,” while the former is wishful “pie in the sky.”When Saturn retrograde reenters Pisces September 1, we've the opportunity to review what truly makes us feel secure & to ask ourselves whether we find security only in our material world. Or whether, deep down in our soul, we have the security of knowing that—no matter what happens we can always take care of ourselves & survive.Mercury then enters discerning Virgo on September 2 (until October 6) & promptly squares Uranus in Gemini September 3. Are more sudden announcements coming—perhaps ones that precede or precipitate more communication around movements of federal military troops into our cities. And will that that spark an even more intensely explosive reaction than those from Governor's Pritzger & Newsom of IL & CA, respectively, to date, as Mars in Libra exact squares Jupiter in Cancer on September 4?Keep an eye on the fact that Mars in Libra first squares Jupiter in Cancer exact @ 18'35” on September 4, but then begins to wax into an opposition to Eris at & then Chiron. That happens on September 15 when Mars in Libra opposes Eris at 25'28” Aries, & then Chiron @26'12 Libra to Aries on September 16.That we are in for a longer period of chaos & discord—both born of our previous wounds & potentially causing future wounding—seems clear since the exact Chiron/Eris conjunction in Aries won't occur until October 9. Not what we want to hear, at least here in America, but to be forewarned is always the potential to be forearmed. Consider this waxing Chiron/Eris conjunction now as akin to the opportunity presented by Paul Revere to the colonists as he alerted them to the invasion by the British on April 18, 1775…Join us for all this & more Astro News You Can Use @ https://www.karmicevolution.com/astrologically-speaking as we move toward the September eclipse season, staring with the Pisces Full Moon on September 7 & Uranus's station retrograde September 6!See you then! It is a sunny, life-affirming position for Venus, but it makes a lot of important aspects this week to heavy planets, bringing some shadows to Leo's sunshine. [3:55] On Mon. Aug. 25 (5:56 PM PDT), Venus trines Saturn at 0º25' Leo-Aries.  Saturn tempers Venus in Leo's extravagant tendencies. Acknowledge your responsibility in choosing partners and cultivating relationships. Don't be afraid to ask for help! [6:09] Venus sextiles Uranus (Tue. Aug. 26, 1:58 pm PDT) at 1°25' Leo-Gemini. New ideas appear, especially related to money, values, or relationships. New people may enter the picture and shake you out of your routines. [7:36] Venus trines Neptune (Tue. Aug. 26, 3:18 pm PDT) at 1°29' Leo-Aries. This aspect invites us to see the beauty in others, regard the world with a little more tenderness. Neptune also elevates Venus' creativity with inspiration, even a touch of spirituality. Together, Venus' sextile to Uranus and trine to Neptune remind us that love, beauty, and creativity are best when they open doors to inspiration and into connection with others. [8:49] Venus opposes Pluto (Tue. Aug. 26, 10:54 pm PDT) at 01°51' Leo-Aquarius. Challenges in relationship and finances. Find value in what cannot be taken away. This transit can feel intense but fortunately, it passes quickly. Don't do things that you can't undo. It's only one day, and by tomorrow, things could look quite different. [11:20] Uranus sextiles Neptune (Thu. Aug. 28, 5:14 PM PDT) at 01º26' Gemini- Aries. This is the first of five exact sextiles that they will form to each other between now and June 2027. Uranus' last major aspect to Neptune was a conjunction in 1993, between 18-19° Capricorn (Feb. 2, Aug. 20, Oct. 24, 1993). [13:28] Uranus in Gemini sextile Neptune in Aries, blends inventive thinking with visionary drive. Think outside the box, not just for the sake of novelty, but to serve an inspired vision of the future. This energy is great for breakthroughs in language, technology, art, or activism. If you stay grounded, this transit is powerful for creativity, spirituality, social change and for taking those first steps toward a new world. [15:45] Moon Report! The Sagittarius First Quarter Moon is on Sat. Aug. 30 (11:25 PM PDT) at 08º07' Sagittarius and Virgo. This is our first action point following the Aug. 22 Virgo New Moon (the first of two; the second is on Sep. 21, and is a Solar Eclipse). You don't have to have everything figured out before you begin, just start the journey and trust that the road will open as you go. The Sabian symbol for this First Quarter Moon is 9 Sagittarius, A mother with her children on the stairs. The Sabian symbol for the Sun is 9 Virgo, A man makes a futuristic drawing. [18:16] This is the First Quarter (first action point) in a lunar phase family cycle (LPFC) that began with the New Moon in Sagittarius on Nov. 30, 2024, at 9º32' Sagittarius. The Full Moon (awareness point) of this LPFC will occur on May 31, 2026, at 9º55' Sagittarius, and the Last Quarter phase (last action point) is on Feb. 27, 2027, at 9º22' Sagittarius. [19:46] Void-of-Course (VOC) Moon periods. On Mon. Aug. 25 (6:53 AM PDT), the Moon in Virgo sextiles Venus. It's VOC for only 15 minutes, and then the Moon enters Libra (7:08 AM PDT). Cancer likes comfort food, and Virgo likes efficient and healthy nutrition. This Void-of-Course Moon period begins around breakfast time on the west coast of the United States, so this is a great day to start a new ritual of eating a really delicious and nutritious breakfast. [20:55] On Tue. Aug. 26 (7:06 PM PDT), the Moon in Libra sextiles Mercury. It's VOC for 23 hours and 21 minutes, then enters Scorpio on Wed. Aug. 27 (6:27 PM PDT). Leo gives voice to the desire for balance and equality that the Moon in Libra craves. Create a habit of making decisions by using equal parts mind and heart. [22:06] On Fri. Aug. 29 (5:47 PM PDT), the Moon in Scorpio squares Mercury. It's VOC for 13 hours, 17 minutes, and enters Sagittarius on Sat. Aug. 30 (7:04 AM PDT). If someone gets under your skin during this VOC Moon period, try very hard to keep hurtful feelings to yourself. Funnel your anger into some other enterprise, such as vigorous exercise habits, which can help keep the drama at bay and your body strong. [23:22] There will be a pause on listener questions this week and most likely next week due to the 6th Annual Podathon! They will return the week after the Podathon, though, so by all means, keep those questions flowing! This week, Mercury turns direct and enjoys not one, but two sextile opportunities with Mars. Saturn makes the second of three liberating sextiles to Uranus, and Venus and Jupiter make a delicious conjunction in Cancer. The Taurus Last Quarter Moon is a time to make some final decisions on those Leo New Moon wishes, and April answers a listener's question about the Midheaven in the Whole Sign House system. Plus: On the precipice, breaking chains, and overeating at dinner! Read a full transcript of this episode. Have a question you'd like answered on the show? Email April or leave it here! Subscribe to April's mailing list and get a free lunar workbook at each New Moon! Love the show? Make a donation! Timestamps [1:22] Mercury stations direct on Mon. Aug. 11 (12:30 AM PDT) at 4º14' Leo. Mercury began its retrograde period on July 17, 2025, at 15°34' Leo. While communication and travel may start to smooth out now, it's probably a good idea not to let your guard completely down just yet. Mercury also rules merchants and trade, so this can be a day when something shifts in your business or financial matters. Mercury turns direct on the Sabian symbol 5 Leo, Rock formations at the edge of a precipice. [3:51] Saturn sextiles Uranus on Mon. Aug. 11 (8:33 PM PDT) at 1º12' Aries-Gemini. This is the second of three sextiles that Saturn will make to Uranus. The first was back on April 4, 2025, and the final one in the series comes on Jan. 19, 2026. Saturn is a rule maker, Uranus a rule breaker. Uranus presents an opportunity for liberation. [5:52] Venus conjuncts Jupiter on Mon. Aug. 11 (10:30 PM PDT) at 14º03' Cancer. Jupiter is exalted (especially strong) in Cancer, and the Sabian symbol for this degree couldn't be more perfect: 15 Cancer, A group of people who have over eaten and enjoyed it. [7:55] This week, Mercury will make two separate sextile aspects to Mars. The first is on Thu. Aug. 14 (7:05 PM PDT) at 5º05' Leo-Libra. Energetic Mars has your mind working overtime. Watch out for arguments. [10:53] The second Mercury-Mars sextile Mars is on Sunday, Aug. 17 (10:33 PM PDT) at 7º04' Leo-Libra. Mind your words, channel any anger or frustration constructively. These Mercury-Mars sextiles bring sharp, energized, focused communication. [11:58] Moon Report! The Taurus Last Quarter Moon is on Fri. Aug. 15 (10:12 PM PDT) at 23º36' Taurus-Leo. It's the last action point following the Leo New Moon on July 24, 2025. This is a terrific Last Quarter Moon to take concrete steps toward your goals. Take stock, focus on what matters, and use this time to bring something meaningful into reality. [14:10] Lunar Phase Family Cycle (LPFC). This is the Last Quarter (final action point) in an LPFC that began on May 19, 2023, at 28º25' Taurus. The First Quarter (first action point) in this LPFC came on February 16, 2024, at 27º25' Taurus. The Full Moon (awareness point) in this LPFC was on Nov. 15, 2024, at 24º00' Taurus. This is the time to bring this LPFC to completion and place it into context. [16:22] Void-of-Course (VOC) Moon periods. The first VOC Moon period began last week on Sun. Aug. 10 (11:55 PM PDT), when the Moon made a trine to Jupiter and was VOC for 1 day, 3 hours and 38 minutes. It enters Aries this week on Tue. Aug. 12 (3:33 AM PDT). This is an emotionally healing time. Initiate a habit of expressing kindness and nourishment to all, and that includes yourself. [17:33] On Wed. Aug. 13 (3:54 PM PDT), the Moon in Aries trines the Sun. It's VOC for 14 hours, 28 minutes, and enters Taurus on Aug. 14 (6:22 AM PDT). Initiate a habit of practicing gratitude just for being alive on the planet. [18:37] On Fri. Aug. 15 (10:12 PM PDT), the Moon in Taurus squares the Sun. It's VOC for 10 hours and 49 minutes, then enters Gemini on Aug. 16 (9:01 AM PDT). The Moon in Taurus and the Sun in Leo share an appreciation for the finer things in life, but not everyone has millions of dollars to spend on fancy trinkets. Embrace the concept of “quiet luxury”, meaningful but inexpensive indulgences. [20:40] Listener Catherine asks about the Midheaven in the Whole Sign House system.
