The North Node's Sabian symbol is 20 Pisces, A table set for an evening meal. Choose the meal, not the buffet, and share it with others. [6:18] Sun enters Leeeeeooooo on Tue. July 22 (6:29 am PDT, through Aug. 22). The Sun rules Leo and favors recreation, play, creative self-expression, and love affairs. The tarot card that's associated with Leo is Strength and the card is associated with the keyword compassion. In medical astrology, Leo rules the spine and the heart, fitting for a sign that is so associated with dignity, courage, and vitality. Leo season is a good time to tend whatever it is that keeps us strong and centered. [8:43] On Tue. July 22 (10:32 PM PDT), the Sun sextiles Uranus at 00°38' Leo and Gemini. The Sun, which represents ego, vitality, and awareness, is now spotlighting the themes of change, innovation and reinvention. [10:36] Venus squares Mars (Wed. July 23, 1:23 AM PDT) at 21°00' Gemini-Virgo. Venus and Mars are both symbols of relationship and in your personal life, this aspect might have you feeling a sudden spark or reconnecting with an ex. [11:54] The Sun trines Saturn (Thu. July 24, 4:23 AM PDT) at 1°49' Leo- Aries. It's a productive transit, when hard work begins to get some recognition. The Sun's Sabian symbol is 2 Leo, An epidemic of mumps; Saturn's is 2 Aries, A comedian entertaining a group. [14:21] The Sun trines Neptune (Thu. July 24, 10:31 am PDT) at 2°04' Leo-Aries. A wonderful day for creativity or spirituality, but remember, no one has all the answers. The Sun's Sabian symbol is 3 Leo, A woman having her hair bobbed. Neptune's Sabian symbol is 3 Aries, A cameo profile of a man, in the outline of his country. [16:38] Moon Report! The Leo New Moon (Thu. July 24, 12:11 pm PDT) is at 2°08' Leo on Sabian symbol 3 Leo, A woman having her hair bobbed. This is our moment to shine, express ourselves boldly, initiate something creative or romantic. Not all rules deserve to be followed, and sometimes we have to refuse to conform in order to claim freedom to be ourselves. [19:14] Lunar Phase Family Cycle (LPFC). This New Moon begins a lunar phase family cycle that continues over the next few years, offering plenty of time to realize Leo New Moon ambitions. The First Quarter (first action point) is on April 23, 2026, the Full Moon (awareness point) is on Jan. 22, 2027, and the Last Quarter Moon (final action point) is on Oct. 22, 2027. [21:35] Void-of-Course (VOC) Moon Periods. On Mon. July 21 (12:52 PM PDT), the Moon in Gemini squares Mars in Virgo. It's then VOC for 16 hours and 34 minutes before it enters Cancer on Tue. July 22 (5:26 AM PDT). Communications from the past could come to the forefront, along with hurt feelings or anger. Forgive and move on; leave the past in the past. [22:50] On Wed. July 23 (5:42 PM PDT), the Moon sextiles Mars. It's VOC for 14 hours and 46 minutes then enters Leo on Thu. July 24 (8:28 AM PDT). This can be a good day to organize your home. [23:50] On Sat. July 26 (4:02 AM PDT), the Moon in Leo sextiles Venus in Gemini. It's VOC for 9 hours 53 minutes before it enters Virgo (1:55 PM PDT). This is a good spa day, so embrace some pampering. [24:54] The Sun opposes Pluto at 2°35' Leo-Aquarius on Thu. July 24 (11:33 PM PDT). This powerful alignment comes only once a year and it invites a kind of personal reckoning. Think of it as kind of an energetic cleanse. The Sun's Sabian symbol is 3 Leo, A woman having her hair bobbed. Pluto's Sabian symbol is 3 Aquarius, A deserter from the navy. Let go, stand firm in your truth, and don't be afraid to challenge the rules that don't fit. [27:08] Listener Questions will be back next week! Mars makes a conjunction with the South Node and asks that we let go of negative Mars traits. Mercury and Venus highlight heartfelt communication, and a listener question about synastry - what if you and your partner have very difficult aspects between your birth charts? Plus: Revisiting a major eclipse, sunshine after a storm, and – are you fooling yourself? Read a full transcript of this episode. Have a question you'd like answered on the show? The Aries Last Quarter Moon is on Thu. July 17 (5:38 PM PDT) at 25º40' Aries-Cancer. Both the Last Quarter phase and the Moon in Aries love a call to action-move toward the finish line with purpose. The Moon's Sabian symbol is 26 Aries, A man possessed of more gifts than he can hold, and the Sun is on 26 Cancer, Contentment and happiness in luxury, people reading on davenports. [4:30] This is the Last Quarter in a lunar phase family cycle (LPFC) that began at the New Moon/Solar Eclipse on April 19, 2023, at 29º50' Aries. The First Quarter phase (first action point) of this LPFC on Jan. 17, 2024, at 27º31' Aries, and the Full Moon (awareness point) was on Oct. 17, 2024, at 24º35' Aries. [6:41] Void-of-Course (VOC) Moon periods. On Tue. July 15 (10:10 AM PDT), the Moon in Pisces trines the Sun in Cancer. It's VOC for 11 hours, 22 minutes, then enters Aries (9:32 PM PDT). Go with the flow instead of trying to force things that are not coming naturally. [7:59] The Moon in Aries squares the Sun on Thu. July 17 (5:38 PM PDT). It's VOC for 7 hours, 20 minutes, and enters Taurus on Fri. July 18 (12:58 PM PDT). Use this VOC Moon period to assert your needs in a way that others will probably respect, even if they aren't always pleased with your point of view. [9:05] On Sat., July 19 (11:43 PM PDT), the Moon in Taurus sextiles the Sun in Cancer. It's VOC for 3 hours, 39 minutes, then enters Gemini on Sunday, July 20 (3:22 AM PDT). July 17 (9:45 PM PDT) at 15º34' Leo, on the Sabian symbol 16 Leo, Sunshine just after a storm. Mercury will be retrograde until Aug. 11, when it turns direct at 04º14' Leo. Retrogrades are the universe's way of slowing us down for a bit, so keep your schedule lighter than you normally would. This retrograde is, in a sense, our permission slip to hit pause. [12:48] On Fri., July 18 (6:37 AM PDT), Mercury retrograde sextiles Venus at 15°34' Leo-Gemini. This aspect invites us to revisit conversations or creative ideas we previously put on hold. Catch up on your emails and your texts on this day. The Sabian symbol for Mercury is 16 Leo, Sunshine just after a storm. The Sabian symbol for Venus is 16 Gemini, A woman Suffragist haranguing. [14:54] Mars conjoins the Moon's South Node on Sunday, July 20 (6:59 PM PDT), at 19º38' Virgo on the Sabian symbol 20 Virgo, An automobile caravan. Adjust your expectations to a somewhat more reasonable standard or level. Refuse to judge others and yourself based on imperfection, and avoid criticizing. [16:57] Listener Joanna asks about synastry. What if you and your partner have very difficult aspects between your birth charts? Before we get into the action, massive big up to everyone who showed up and showed out for us at Boxpark Croydon on Sunday (Day 7). We had a blast and it was a pleasure meeting you all. Ben “10” Shelton is through to his first Wimbledon quarter–final after a 3-6, 6-1, 7-6(1), 7-5 victory over Lorenzo Sonego. The head-to-head now reads 4-1 to the American. The 10th seed made a sluggish start and dropped his first set of the tournament to the Italian who he was facing for the third Grand Slam in a row. Shelton recovered well in the second set, winning it 6-1. At 1-1, Shelton held from 15-40 down and took over after that, breaking Sonego in the next game, then holding with ease before breaking the Italian again en route to securing it. The third set was a much tighter affair. The pair exchanged breaks at 3-3, then both held until 6-6. It was one-way traffic in the tiebreak with Shelton wrapping it up 7-1. The fourth set followed the third, both men were holding comfortably until Sonego, serving to stay in the match at 5-6, fumbled. Shelton hit a clean return winner at the start of the game and would eventually break the Italian for a fourth time to seal victory. Jannik Sinner or Grigor Dimitrov await in the last eight. Josh Sigurdson talks with Mark Gonzales about the latest numbers coming out on the first quarter as the US economy contracts as spending slows. We are seeing inflation ramp up dramatically and most refuse to see the writing on the wall as trillions of dollars are printed. Once that money reaches the hands of the public, we can only expect to see inflation skyrocket. People aren't spending money due to the current cost of living which is further crippling industries as countless major chains either go under completely or close large numbers of stores. Kroger is closing another 60 stores. With the so-called "Big Beautiful Bill," some forms of spending are slowing down while others are seeing a massive boost including artificial intelligence which Trump has already spent 500 billion dollars on. Now, trillions more are set to be put into funding a technocratic shift into surveillance, militarism and digital money. Wages are set to be boosted somewhat but of course this does not stop the obvious issue of inflation. While most are sitting on their hands, like under Obama or Biden, the economy is getting worse and few are talking about it. The trade wars continue and prices will continue to rise. The Sagittarius Full Moon highlights the big picture, and for a little respite from all those hard aspects, Jupiter moves into one of its favorite signs, Cancer. And a listener question about planets that are in difficult aspect, but in compatible signs. Plus: Man on wire, a mermaid, and making the world your home! Read a full transcript of this episode. Timestamps [1:36] Mercury squares Saturn (June 9, 3:48 AM PDT) at 00°59' Cancer-Aries. Take responsibility for your actions and feelings. Delays and obstacles are likely in travel and communication. Tackle difficult projects, because this is an aspect that is designed to deal with difficult things. [3:07] Venus squares Pluto (June 9, 10:20 AM PDT) at 3°31' Taurus-Aquarius. This aspect can indicate major losses or gains in relationships and finances, and reminds us that nothing lasts forever. Venus' Sabian symbol, 4 Taurus, The rainbow's pot of gold. Pluto's Sabian symbol is 4 Aquarius, A Hindu healer.  [4:54] Jupiter enters its sign of exaltation, Cancer, on June 9 (2:02 PM PDT) through June 29, 2026. Jupiter was last in this sign from June 25, 2013-July 16, 2014. The more you see of the world, the more of it feels like home to you. Open your heart and your home – maybe literally enlarging or renovating where you live. [7:55] On June 9 (3:54 PM PDT), Mercury squares Neptune (2°00' Cancer- Aries). The Sabian symbol for Mercury is 2 Cancer, A man suspended over a vast level place, which is reminiscent of the movie Man on Wire. Mercury connecting with Neptune, even by square, brings inspiration, and any impossible journey begins with a vision. [9:29] Moon Report! The Sagittarius Full Moon (June 11, 12:44 AM PDT) is at 20°39' Sagittarius on the Sabian symbol 21 Sagittarius, A child and a dog with borrowed eyeglasses. This Full Moon reveals what was set in place at the May 26 Gemini New Moon. Think about why you set those goals and what they will mean in the overall scheme of your life. [13:28] Lunar Phase Family Cycle (LPFC). This is the Full Moon (awareness point) in an LPFC that began with a New Moon on Dec. 12, 2023, at 20°40' Sagittarius. The First Quarter (first action point) was on Sep. 10, 2024, at 19° Sagittarius. The Last Quarter Moon (final action point) is on March 11, 2026, at 20°49' Sagittarius. [14:54] Void-of-Course (VOC) Moon Periods. On June 9 (5:06 AM PDT), the Moon in Scorpio opposes Uranus. It's VOC for 2 hours, 49 minutes, then enters Sagittarius (7:55 AM PDT). If people are a little bit scratchy, instead of taking it personally, use this VOC Moon period to initiate a habit of refusing to engage in such situations. [16:14] On June 11 (12:58 PM PDT), the Moon in Sagittarius trines Mars in Leo. It's VOC for 5 hours, 57 minutes, then enters Capricorn (6:55 PM PDT). Believe in your own capabilities. [17:13] On June 14 (1:52 AM PDT), the Moon in Capricorn trines Uranus in Taurus. It's VOC for 2 hours, 8 minutes, then enters Aquarius (4:00 AM PDT). Switch up your morning routine a bit. Try something new. [18:31] The Sun squares the lunar nodes on June 13 (2:47 AM PDT) at 22°38' Gemini, Pisces/Virgo. This is the midway point between eclipse seasons. This point triggers the March 13, 2025 total lunar eclipse at 23°56' Virgo and Pisces, and offers a glimpse of the Sep. 7, 2025, total lunar eclipse at 15°22' Pisces. If you have any planets or points in your chart between 15-24 degrees of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, or Pisces, this square might make you feel you're at a turning point related to those planets. [20:01] Mars squares Uranus (June 15, 2:47 AM PDT) at 28°54' Leo-Taurus. This is a volatile combination of planets, so avoid situations that you know for a fact can be dangerous. Mars is on the Sabian symbol 29 Leo, A Mermaid. Uranus is on 29 Taurus, Two cobblers working at a table. [22:18] Jupiter makes the last of three squares to Saturn (June 15, 7:36 AM PDT) at 1°18' Cancer-Aries. This combination of planets is closely associated with the economy and the current cycle began on Dec. 21, 2020, with the conjunction between Jupiter and Saturn. This is an interesting action point in this overall cycle. [24:22] Listener Paula asks about how to interpret planets that are in difficult aspect, but in compatible signs. 386 When a Door Ajar Becomes a Fatal Distraction: GA Door-Open Accidents and What Pilots Should Do + GA News

Aviation News Talk podcast

A cabin door pops open just after takeoff. It's noisy, surprising—but the aircraft is still flying just fine. So why are general aviation pilots still crashing and dying in these scenarios? In this episode, Max explores the unsettling trend of fatal accidents caused not by mechanical failure, but by how pilots react to in-flight distractions—specifically, an open cabin or baggage door. In just the first five months of 2025, four U.S. GA crashes involved doors opening shortly after takeoff. Three were fatal; the fourth resulted in serious burn injuries. Max walks through each accident in detail, including the tragic crashes of a Beech Baron in Colorado, a Vans RV-10 in California, a Beech A36TC in Pennsylvania, and a Piper Saratoga in Florida. In all cases, the door opening startled the pilot, who either tried to immediately return at low altitude or became distracted from flying. The result: stalls, spins, or uncontrolled impacts—none of which were caused by the open door itself. Drawing from FAA guidance, NTSB investigations, and personal experience with over two dozen open-door incidents, Max explains exactly how pilots should handle this situation. The key? Don't panic. Don't try to fix the problem in the air. Fly the airplane, climb to pattern altitude, and land normally. You'll also learn about door designs that are more prone to issues—like gull-wing doors on RV-10s and Columbias, or rear doors on Diamonds—and the importance of educating passengers on how to respond. The episode also includes real-world listener stories, POH comparisons across different aircraft, and a review of FAA training materials that stress proper task management in abnormal situations. Max reminds pilots that an open door is not an emergency—it's a test of focus. If mishandled, it can become a fatal distraction. But with the right knowledge and discipline, it should be a non-event. This episode is a must-listen for every GA pilot—because distractions happen, and it's how we respond that makes the difference. How much credit risk is in the market? Equities get the headlines but the world runs on credit. Jamie Dimon recently declared that credit was a “bad risk” on the heels of Moody’s downgrading the U.S. credit rating and a spike in the 10 Year Treasury yield. Suddenly, the boring old credit and bond markets are all the rage on the financial news channels, and it goes much deeper than treasuries. Today’s episode examines the scope of the global credit market and unpacks the difference between the systemic threat posed in the global financial crisis (GFC) and the looming credit crisis today. And, it shows how the big corporations prepared for the gathering storm by rewriting the rules of the game after the GFC. The big guys are fairly insulated from any sort of looming credit shock, but the rest of us are pretty much toast. Access the episode resources. VC funding into Irish SMEs soars in first quarter to €533m - IVCA

Venture capital funding into Irish SMEs soared to €532.8m in the first quarter of 2025, according to the Irish Venture Capital Association VenturePulse survey published today in association with William Fry. This was a record for a first quarter and represents a year-to-year increase of over 100%. But Mr Gerry Maguire, chairperson, Irish Venture Capital Association said: "It should be noted that over 80% of the total in this quarter was due to deals worth over €10m." He said that the picture for start-ups raising under €3m was less rosy and this may reflect an imbalance in the market. The first quarter excluded the impact of US "Liberation Day" tariffs on 2nd April. Mr Maguire said that anecdotal evidence suggested that the uncertainty and caution caused by this, especially amongst international investors, is likely to show up in following quarters. Sarah-Jane Larkin, director general, IVCA said that funding by international venture capital into Irish companies rose to 82% of the total, compared to 71% in the same quarter last year. "This is a doubled edged sword. While it reflects the high quality and potential of Irish tech firms and demand by overseas investors, it also reflects Ireland Inc's vulnerability to international influences if the tide goes out." Deals in the €30m+ category grew by nearly 90% to €296.8m. Funding in the €10m-€30m range rose by 184% to €132m. Deals between €5m-€10m grew 138% to €43.8m. Funding in the €3-€5m increased 346% to €35m from €7.8m the previous quarter. Deals in the €1m-€3m category fell by 5% to €21.6m. Deals under €1m fell by 42% to €3.6m from €6.2m the previous year. There was also a big fall in the number of deals in this category, down from 21 to six. Seed funding, or first rounds raised by SMEs, marked time, falling by 3% to €39.3m from €40.4m the previous year. The total number of deals in the first quarter was 43, slightly ahead of the same quarter last year (41). Top five deals in the first quarter were lifescience company, Let's get Checked which raised €150m. Cybersecurity firm, Tines raised €115m followed by AI company, Protex AI (€31.8m), drone delivery firm, Manna (€27m) and medical technology manufacturer, Perfuze (€22m). Today's show is an unusual show in that we are quoting national statistics. As you know, I don't love national numbers because they reflect averages and the average often doesn't apply in specific areas. When we look at demand for homes, and for rentals, there are historic norms that are based on demographics and employment that most market analysts use to predict demand for housing. This feeds into well understood models for household formation, the age at which people start having children, and the time when they purchase their first home. Recent studies are showing that the high cost of housing, combined with higher interest rates rates are reducing the number of new homes being sold to first time buyers across the US. The Mortgage Bankers Association published a new report earlier this week that outlines some startling statistics for single family home sales. We're going to look at these numbers and then infer what the implications might be for property investors, specifically in the apartment space and in the built to rent segment. Historically, first time home buyers have accounted for an average of 36% of home purchase transactions over the past 20 years. For 2024, this proportion fell to an all time low of 24% of purchases. First homes are being purchased nearly a decade later than historic norms. All of the major national home builders are reporting a slowdown in home sales and an acute slowdown in first time home buyers. Pulte homes, the nation's third largest home builder reported an 11% decline in first time home sales. -------------**Real Estate Espresso Podcast:** Spotify: [The Real Estate Espresso Podcast](https://open.spotify.com/show/3GvtwRmTq4r3es8cbw8jW0?si=c75ea506a6694ef1)   iTunes: [The Real Estate Espresso Podcast](https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/the-real-estate-espresso-podcast/id1340482613)   Website: [www.victorjm.com](http://www.victorjm.com)   LinkedIn: [Victor Menasce](http://www.linkedin.com/in/vmenasce)   YouTube: [The Real Estate Espresso Podcast](http://www.youtube.com/@victorjmenasce6734)   Facebook: [www.facebook.com/realestateespresso](http://www.facebook.com/realestateespresso)   Email: [podcast@victorjm.com](mailto:podcast@victorjm.com)  **Y Street Capital:** Website: [www.ystreetcapital.com](http://www.ystreetcapital.com)   Facebook: [www.facebook.com/YStreetCapital](https://www.facebook.com/YStreetCapital)   Instagram: [@ystreetcapital](http://www.instagram.com/ystreetcapital)

Timestamps [1:14] Moon Report! The Scorpio Full Moon (May 12, 9:56 am PDT, 22º12' Scorpio-Taurus) illuminations tension and instability around resources and security, self-worth. The Sabian symbol for the Moon, 23 Scorpio, A rabbit metamorphosed into a fairy, illustrates the transformational symbolism of Scorpio's modern ruler, Pluto. The Sun is on the Sabian symbol 23 Taurus, A jewelry shop. It's a time to dig deep, to train your instincts, and to allow yourself to evolve. [3:29] Lunar Phase Family Cycle (LPFC). This is the Full Moon (awareness point) in an LPFC that began at the New Moon on Nov. 13, 2023 at 20º43' Scorpio. The First Quarter (first action point) in this LPFC was on Aug. 12, 2024, and the Last Quarter (last action point) comes on Feb. 9, 2026. [4:50] Void-of-Course (VOC) Moon periods. On May 12 (11:37 pm PDT), the Moon in Scorpio trines Saturn. It's VOC for 1 hour 58 minutes, and enters Sagittarius on May 13 (1:35 am PDT). Appreciate the gift of work and have faith in the transformational power of doing it well. [6:12] On May 15 (11:28 am PDT), the Moon in Sagittarius squares Saturn. It's VOC for 1 hour 30 minutes, then enters Capricorn (12:58 pm). Replace negative feelings with emotional resilience and a sense of duty. [7:05] On May 17 (9:27 pm PDT), the Moon in Capricorn sextiles Saturn. It's VOC for 1 hour 2 minutes, then enters Aquarius (10:29 pm PDT). Show wise stewardship of both personal and business responsibilities. [8:08] Mercury squares Pluto (May 12, 10:23 am PDT) at 3º48' Taurus-Aquarius. When these two planets are square, expect major developments, dramatic market shifts, communication breakdowns, big travel disruptions, or uncomfortable truths that emerge. Mercury's Sabian symbol is 4 Taurus, The rainbow's pot of gold. Pluto's symbol is 4 Aquarius, A Hindu healer.  [11:09] The Sun conjoins Uranus (May 17, 4:32 pm PDT) at 27º17' Taurus on the Sabian symbol 28 Taurus, A woman pursued by mature romance. The Sun with Uranus challenges us to evolve, often through unexpected shifts. Some will find this transit invigorating and freeing; for others, it's uncomfortable. Embrace what makes you unique and explore that in new ways. [13:05] Mercury squares Mars (May 17, 9:36 pm PDT) at 13º53' Taurus-Leo. Communication might get a little sharp or even cut off entirely. Choose words carefully. Mercury's Sabian symbol is 14 Taurus, Shellfish groping and children playing. Mars' symbol is 14 Leo, The human soul awaiting opportunity for expression. This aspect challenges us to speak with intention, to think clearly, act decisively, and speak truth. [16:25] Jupiter squares the lunar nodes at 25º05' Gemini, Pisces, and Virgo on May 18 (11:46 am PDT). Appreciate messages that say you are moving in the right direction.  Use what you know to move you in new directions. Jupiter's Sabian symbol is 26 Gemini, Winter frost in the woods. The North Node is on the Sabian symbol 26 Pisces, A New Moon that divides its influences. The South Node is on the Sabian symbol 26 Virgo, A boy with a sensor. [19:24] A mini-lesson: A general introduction to what we can expect Saturn to teach us while it's in Aries. In Episode 291, we'll look at Saturn in Aries moving through the houses of the horoscope, and then in Episode 292, a quick look at Saturn in aspect to the planets in your birth chart. [20:30] Saturn takes about 29 years to make a complete circuit of the zodiac, and it spends about two and a half years in each sign. Saturn will be in Aries through Sep. 1, 2025, retrograde back into Pisces until Feb. 13, 2026, then returns to Aries until April 12, 2028. Transits of Saturn describe periods when we're challenged to become more mature, wiser, and more disciplined. [21:45] April's book, Astrological Transits, is an excellent source of information, and she quoted from this book during this episode. [25:57] Saturn was last in Aries between April 7,1996-June 8, 1998 and and Oct. 25, 1998-Feb. 28, 1999. If you were born then, you'll be having your first Saturn return. And if you were born between March 3 1967-April 29 1969, you will be having your second Saturn return. The Saturn return is when transiting Saturn returns to its exact position in your birth chart. You'll review issues related to your maturity, achievement, career, and status.  [26:54] Differences between first and second Saturn returns. [27:45] As Saturn moves into a new sign, we learn to step up our collective societal game and to take responsibility for a new area of society. Saturn in Aries moving through your personal horoscope can show the area or areas of your life where you are personally called to these challenges. Saturn in aspect to your personal planets symbolize the parts of your personality that will be called into service. [28:45] April will return to listener questions in a couple of weeks. [9:05] This is the First Quarter phase (first action point) in a lunar phase family cycle (LPFC) that began with the New Moon on Aug. 4, 2024, at 12º34' Leo. The Full Moon (awareness point) of this LPFC is on Feb. 1, 2026, and the Last Quarter Moon (final action point) on Nov. 1, 2026. [10:25] Void-of-Course (VOC) Moon periods. On April 28 (10:18 pm PDT), the Moon in Taurus sextiles Venus in Pisces. It's VOC for 1 hour, 16 minutes, and then enters Gemini (11:34 pm PDT). Make it part of your daily routine to enjoy a little time out, relaxation, and indulgence, especially if you tend to work hard and not take enough time for yourself. [11:32] On April 30 (8:49 pm PDT), the Moon in Gemini squares Saturn in Pisces. It's VOC for 3 hours, 34 minutes, and then enters Cancer on May 1 (12:23 am PDT). Use this VOC Moon period to think about how we can use any recent setbacks, obstacles, or rejections to improve communication, and that means listening as well.  Work hard on developing communication skills that are a little bit sensitive and intuitive, as opposed to just coming from the mind, coming from the heart as well. [12:55] On May 3 (1:02 am PDT), the Moon in Cancer trines Saturn in Pisces. It's VOC for 3 hours, 27 minutes, and then enters Leo (4:29 am PDT). If you are awake, use this VOC period to develop a solid work routine. Because in doing that, your emotions will be more stable, your confidence will get a boost, which will increase the respect you receive from others. [14:14] Pluto stations retrograde (May 4, 8:27 am PDT, until Oct. 13) at 3º49' Aquarius. With Pluto is still being opposed by Mars in Leo, this is not a quiet descent into the underworld, it's more like a fiery plunge. Pluto stations on the Sabian symbol 4 Aquarius, A Hindu healer. Pluto heals through burning away whatever has been holding us back from being our true selves. [16:16] Listener Anna asks about the opposition aspect in astrology. In this quarterly market recap, Matt Reustle turns the mic on Eric to analyze the tumultuous market environment of Q1 2025. They discuss the significant market downturn following the implementation of unexpected tariff policies, with the S&P down over 8% and Nasdaq down 12.5% by mid-April. Eric provides insights into how surprisingly high tariff announcements completely upended market expectations, the bond market's volatile reaction, and potential implications for corporate earnings and economic growth. The conversation explores the complex relationship between the US and China, concerns about capital flight, the Fed's challenging position between inflation and growth concerns, and how political decisions are creating unprecedented uncertainty in global markets. Wood Mackenzie's 18th Solar and Energy Storage summit is back, in Denver this week. If you can't make it, don't worry – we have all the debate and key insight you need to know here on the podcast.Recorded live on day 1 of the summit, host Sylvia Leyva Martinez talks to four industry leaders in solar and storage to answer these questions:Can the U.S. solar industry keep up with demand amid trade wars and policy chaos? Discussing this is David Carroll, ENGIE's Chief Renewables Officer. He warns that policy uncertainty and tariff whiplash are stalling U.S. solar investment. Sylvia and David look at sodium-ion batteries; are they a safer option? Plus, more domestic energy storage is needed amid growing calls for stable tax credit policy to meet growing electricity demand. A must-hear for developers navigating today's volatile energy landscape. What about VPPS? Can they scale fast enough to provide a real alternative? Answering this is Sarah Noll, She shares insights on regulatory challenges, customer trust, and tech adoption, showing how the Arizona Public Service is turning grid flexibility into a real growth strategy. Are storage operators leaving millions on the table because they don't understand their own batteries? That's the big question Shyam Srinivasan, CEO of Zitara, answers with Sylvia. He reveals how poor software integration is holding back storage performance. As storage scales rapidly, Shyam stresses the need for better diagnostics and real-time decision tools to optimise revenue, reliability, and resilience - especially in merchant markets. Finally, Samantha Frisk from Pivot energy sits down with Sylvia to look at models for community solar development. Sam explains how early engagement, local benefits like agrivoltaics, and trusted partnerships can turn sceptical communities into solar advocates - proving clean energy can uplift as well as decarbonise.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
