The Arctic is warming four times faster than the global average temperature. Ice caps are melting which are forcing the indigenous Innuit community living around the Northwest passage to change their way of life. Polar bears and wildlife are losing their habitats and the ability to hunt. Further south, Middle Eastern countries are facing temperatures above 50 Celsius more regularly. We speak to people living in these rapidly warming parts of the world and find out why their countries are warming faster than others. We also find out why the change to an El Niño weather pattern later this year might make things even hotter in some parts of the world. Episode 200Wow, it is hard to believe we have uploaded 200 of these now! Thank you to anyone who has listened and encouraged us to keep at it! We may not be the biggest or most popular golf podcast out there, but we love what we're doing and have no plans to abandon this journey! Again, thanks for all the support! We hope you enjoy this episode, and check out our YouTube channel, where we'll post the podcast video each week!Matt brought up what he thinks could be a "fix" for the Sentry Tournament of Champions. It was an interesting take, and the other guys liked it.Matt also has some new irons in the bag. He dropped Srixon like a stanky fish and switched to New Level Golf. The first significant change to his bag this year is his effort to say no to big-brand golf and show some support to the smaller, unique brands out there! The guys also recapped the ODIN Golf interview and dove into more details about the golf license required to play golf in Germany! That's not a typo. You must take a DMV-style test and pass to play public golf in Germany! Unless you're a member at Pebble Beach! HahaJoe is headed to North Carolina with Dan, Trey, and Julien. They have a great lineup, including; Tobacco Road, Southern Pines, Mid Pines, The Cradle, and maybe a few others. We'll be recapping that on next week's show.Matt Gontarek, aka "The Weatherman," makes his Chasing Daylight premier this week. Matt is a local meteorologist at FOX 5 here in Vegas, and he'll be chiming in each week, giving us a preview of the weekend weather from a golfer's perspective! We wrapped up this weeks show with a Vegas Golf Rant about golf courses in the Valley lately and the pricing that's taking place from a not-so-high-end course. Part two of Stu Levitan's conversation with one of the most interesting and politically important UW graduates from the late sixties, Helen Shiller. Her career encompassed almost 30 years of civic activism and community organizing with the Black Panther Party, the Students for a Democratic Society, the Intercommunal Survival Committee, and 24 years as a member of the Chicago City Council. Studs Terkel included some oral history from Helen as a chapter in his book Hope Dies Last, and now she's written a full memoir of her time on the streets and in the suites. It's called Daring to Struggle Daring to Win: Five Decades of Resistance in Chicago's Uptown Community from the good people at Haymarket Books. It has been quite a life and career, and it is quite a memoir — enough for two episodes of Madison BookBeat. The first aired an Nov. 28; as we pick up part two, Helen is reflecting on why she did not join the Weatherman when the Students for a Democratic Society split in 1969.Airdate - Dec. 12, 2022
Pump up the jams with Ryan, Brant, Mark Hosler and The Weatherman! . . . . YOU DON'T KNOW MOJACK is a podcast dedicated to exploring the entire SST catalogue, in order, from start to finish. During the podcast we will discuss all the releases that are part of our core DNA, as well as many lesser-known releases that deserve a second chance, or releases that we are discovering for the very first time (we actually don't know Mojack!). First and foremost we are fans, and acknowledge that we are not perfect and don't know everything – sometimes the discussion is more about a time, place, feeling, personal experience or random tangents, and less about the facts (but we will try to get to the facts too). Every once in a while, I come across someone who's carved out a really unique niche in the wedding and events industry. I met Andrew at a WeddingPro COR event and when he told me he provides weather tools for wedding professionals, I was intrigued. Of course weather is a big factor for weddings and events, but why are the apps on our phones not giving us the full picture and how does Andrew, and his team of 20 meteorologists, help couples better prepare for the weather on their wedding day (or weekend), anywhere in the world? Listen to this episode to find out, and to hear some real weather stories.About Andrew and Ironic ReportsAndrew Leavitt started his career as a wedding and mitzvah DJ at the age of 13. After moving to the concert and festival industry after college, he became an expert in event and weather safety, working on global tours and major festivals. In 2019 at his best friend's wedding, a storm started heading towards Newport, RI. As the venue and planner scrambled with multiple weather apps and the tension started to rise, he started tracking the weather pattern, wind speed, and precipitation rate. In about a minute, he realized this would pass in 30 minutes, so the best move would be to bring the cushions in from the chairs outside, let the kitchen know to hold the food, and move everything back 45 minutes, but when he told this to the maid of honor, he was promptly told to get another drink, sit down and shut up! Want to see how this turned out? Listen to this episode. So, with the help of endless free time in 2020, he founded Ironic. Since launching, Ironic has helped over 2500 engaged couples plan for their wedding through Historical Weather Reports and Concierge Wedding Meteorologist.Website: www.IronicReports.comBio: Weather Tools for Wedding Professionals - Concierge Wedding Meteorologist Instagram: @Ironicreports If you have any questions about anything in this, or any of my podcasts, or have a suggestion for a topic or guest, please reach out directly to me at Alan@WeddingBusinessSolutions.com or visit my website Podcast.AlanBerg.comPlease be sure to subscribe to this podcast and leave a review (thanks, it really does make a difference). I caught up with Greg Fishel, The O'fishel Weatherman, while he was in town today on Thanksgiving and captured this recording of a Thanksgiving weather story. He also answered the question: Why does it warm up from under 32 Degrees Fahrenheit and rain so often in the Raleigh, NC, area? Why doesn't it snow more? It will be 29 a night and dry, than warm up to 42 and rain during the day, why? I laughed and learned a lot talking with meteorologist, television personality and podcast host, Ted Phaeton. We talk about the science behind what he does, how he inspires "modern men" and throw in a few obligatory Ron Burgundy jokes along the way. Ted Phaeton is a husband, son, and dog dad. He's the Morning Meteorologist at Queen City News in Charlotte, NC. (Meaning, he wakes up VERY early!) Ted is also a member of the National Weather Association and received his NWA Television/Radio Seal of Approval in December of 2016, making him a certified meteorologist with the national organization. As the founder of The Modern Man, a men's networking & empowerment group, Ted works to connect men in pursuit of their potential by helping them build meaningful relationships and solve male isolation. #LetsgrowTed Phaeton InstagramModern Man PodcastBuilding Men InstagramBuilding Men WebsiteBuilding Men YouTubeBuilding Men FacebookWork with Dennis as your 1 on 1 coach The Foundation Virtual Coaching Group for Young MenIf our podcast resonates with you, please consider rating, reviewing and sharing it with anyone who you believe would benefit from the message.Visit our sponsors - Chop Club For MenFinish The Race – Home of the official Building Men gear

Weatherman Gary Lezak shares with You Just Have To Laugh another energetic podcast about his soon retirement from TV and onto his new business venture of accurate weather predictions 100 days out. Gary developed a passion for weather as he learned his first words. Growing up in Southern California, clouds and rain fascinated him, and his hobby began around age 5. After high school, Gary went to the University of Oklahoma to change his hobby into a career. In 1985 he got a few breaks, graduated with his B.S. degree in meteorology and started what would become a successful broadcasting career. He got his first big break in 1986 when he became the morning meteorologist at KWTV-TV in Oklahoma City. In 1992, Gary got another big break and moved to KC, where he has now been for more than 30 plus years.

Thiiis is how we dooo it... And by "dooo it" we of course mean, "podcast." Hey! Welcome to the eighth episode of #LunchBreakz, lovingly recorded the night before the midterm elections. But don't worry, this (still) is very much NOT a political Kast. Go listen to Ezra Klein or something. Today we are gushing over the just-released mixtape in Westside Gunn's Hitler Wears Hermes series, as well as tracks by Prince Daddy & the Hyenas and LVL Up. The squad also pays respects to recently departed rapper, artist and former Weatherman, Tame One. And Chris reveals a new catchphrase. Join us? Follow us on Twitter: @KastingCuzzins / @KeefHerbin

On this weeks episode I sit down with Seaholm, a punk/midwest emo band from Michigan. We dive right into their latest full length "Its Raining Outside" which came out in July. This is one of my favorite releases this year, its mix of the upbeat instrumentals that are masking these deep lyrics just take it to another level. We go over everything from the responses that they have been getting to break downs of different songs. This was truly a fun episode with different tangents that have a mind of their own. Before we get to stories we go over what we can see from Seaholm in the future, be sure to catch them on tour this November with our homies in Innerlove! This episode features the songs "Cough Syrup" and "Weatherman" from the album Its Raining Outside. You can find Seaholm on all streaming sites or here: linktr.ee/seaholmband

This is a situation where a lot of veterans get tripped up and really get caught up in this. I know that's gonna upset a lot of you, but that is just basically the truth with the VA. You actually have to make sure that there's medical evidence that can actually help you connect one condition to another or connect that to your service. *********Got some questions? The coaches are back! What should the coaches do for the 250th episode (02:10)? It's damn near 2023, why do weathermen still have to endure such dangerous elements (09:56)? Zay believes that Biden is at least 237 years old (16:20). Why would Ryan Garcia risk his life messing with Tank (23:10)? The coaches mix up the YTs, yet again (42:02). Cam should have made an appearance on “SSS”. WITH MUCH MORE! #RIPBigReese
Spectrum News provides a local cable news channel for every city with Spectrum Cable. It's rarely hard-hitting news and leans more towards inoffensive local stories about kittens in trees. It would be the news channel for barbie dolls if they watched news. Local Spectrum News channel 1 in NYC became an exception to that policy when they quietly fired Eric Adame, the local fan favorite weatherman on Channel 1. They fired him for engaging in online sex in a private sex-webcam-chat-porn-site. This wasn't an Only Fans account, it was a subscribers only adult web-cam-chat service and Eric was chatting in the privacy of his own home during his off hours. Spectrum Channel 1 might have had a real reason to fire Eric if he had been inappropriate while reporting, but his clothes always stayed on when he was reporting the weather. Someone, unknown and anonymous, took photos of Eric without his consent while he was naked online. This unknown person sent those photos to Eric's boss and to Eric's mother. Eric is a textbook case of revenge porn and is suing the webcam company for the name of the person who sent the photos. He intends to file legal action against the person who took the photos. Eric apologized to his fans, his boss, his co-workers, all of New York City, and the weather itself. None of that mattered to Spectrum. They fired him for whatever legal reason they could find to justify the firing and now no one knows what the weather is in New York City. But everyone knows that Eric was fired unfairly and lost his right to privacy.

Xfinity Series competitor Kyle Weatherman joins Davey Segal (5:50) to discuss his racing career and season to date with Jesse Iwuji Motorsports. They dive into when a trip to a go-kart shop started it all, how David Ragan was involved, winning national bandolero and legends titles, moving to North Carolina, living with Chris Buescher and his wife, Emma and working his way up through the stock car ranks. Weatherman details when work ethic really came into play, adjusting from short tracks and small cars to big tracks and heavier cars, how the deal with Jesse Iwuji Motorsports came together, why he enjoys being hands on with the cars he races, learning from previous teams (including trips to Applebee's with Mike Harmon) and providing them top 10 finishes, the satisfaction he gets from over-performing in underfunded equipment, the difference in Cup Series competition, what the support from Dale Earnhardt Jr. means to him, his plans for the rest of this and next season and more. Davey also discusses the Texas debacle, what can/needs to be done to fix the track and Papa Segal (with more help than usual from Mama Segal) pays homage to the No. 63.
